Reviews of The Heights of Summerlin

My family and I want to extend our deepest gratitude and thanks to everyone at The Heights of Summerlin. The care provided to my husband was nothing short of top notch. The nursing staff was wonderful, caring, and very attentive and always had a smile on their face. The business office was great too and when Hospice was needed, they provided several options and resources. Their nurses worked side-by-side with Hospice to make sure the care my husband received was the very best. I can only say
wonderful things about this facility – it was always very clean and well maintained inside and out, the food was good, they offered nice activities and the outside areas were always a welcomed and beautiful place to spend time. We highly recommend The Heights of Summerlin; we are so grateful for them and the amazing care they offered.

THOS- Very clean, staff friendly. I have seen/heard 2 and 3 star places. True that mostly CNAs and short on RN's but most of the reviews are patients themselves that don't want to be here. Mom here temporarily, we want to see her be independent. We don't want her reIying on staff but everything is new to her. She dont like her low sodium diet, her room faces the sun, its bright, its hot in morning (AC works tho). She just wants to be home where she's comfortable. I was afraid to see this place based on reviews but I was relieved after seeing it and dealing with staff....it could have been a lot worse. The building was clean and well kept.

Ever notice that the lowest reviews are from people who don’t live here. I’ve been here 18 months, and I can give you an honest review. The CNA staff (the ones who do all the work) are paid from 16 to 18 dollars an hour. They have anywhere from 10 to 15 patients who require varying degrees of care. They make sure the patients are dry in the morning, then they pass out breakfast, then they go around and change beds, then they help get the residents up (out of bed, dressed, and in our chair). And that’s all before lunch. When you press your call button, it can take up to half an hour before someone comes. It all depends on the time of day and where they are in their routine. It typically takes them about 5 minutes in my case. The food is typical hospital food, it all has a funny taste to it, but otherwise it’s just okay. We play bingo in the mornings, happy hour on Fridays, bbq or other treats on other days. The horror stories are few and far between, no place is perfect. But these people work hard considering how much they get paid, I don’t take them for granted anymore.

I just went in for an interview for the driver position. It was a nice interview. It did not seem like the nice women were interrogating me. They were pleasant, professional, informative, and polite. What else can you ask for. People that present themselves in this manner makes me willingly want to work for them. Chaos is the new normal, it's nice being in the presence of prestige people with good and acceptable behavior, coupled with genuineness and grace.

Basic custodial care has improved. I visited my 97-yr-old father on Saturday. A day or two later, he was bathed, groomed, and he wore clean clothes, shoes and socks. Activities are provided for those who want to participate. Meals have variety, and the nutritionist is available for consultation. The social worker sets up periodic care conferences. The nurses are there for the residents.

I was in isolation for a week and I found the care excellent. My every need was attended to with loving care. My only complaint was the food, but after speaking to the nursing supervisor and the dietitian the quality of my food improved. After I was released from isolation I ate in the dinning room. Food was really good and but it seemed like they could have used more staff.

I visited my husband at Summerland in Nv, I live in Az. I was impressed by the staff. they were very helpful and nice and allowed us to visit him, the facility was very clean, I felt very comfortable and relaxed there. I felt relieved once I saw him the staff and the facility, it was truly like a burden was taken off of my shoulder with the care that he's receiving. Thank you so much, I can go back to Phoenix with ease knowing hes being well cared for

Such a great place, truly. To start, I am always greeted by the smiling face of the young lady at the front desk, Elizabeth. She is extremely helpful and courteous each and every time I am in the building. Along with Elizabeth's warm greeting, guests are greeted with a beautiful display aquarium and a grand piano, elegance fitting enough for a 5 star experience. The staff is warm, wonderful and dedicated to providing residents with the best in care. I would recommend this skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility to anyone searching for temporary and long-term care or placement.

Actually, I would like to give this facility a five star rating, but while it is a great place to recover, it isn't perfect. After a stroke and 3 weeks in Sunrise rehab, my wife was transferred to The Heights for their skilled nursing rehab program. I read a lot of reviews and took some guff from family and friends who also looked at the reviews. We had a choice of three facilities and I chose the Heights because of its proximity to our home. Here's the TRUTH. Do not be afraid to have your loved ones recover at the heights. The nurses and CNAs are all wonderfully kind and attentive to non ambulatory and other patients. Of course they can't respond immediately every time someone pushes the alarm, but they do come and take care of your needs, like changing diapers, feeding patients, transitioning patients from bed to Wheelchair. The rooms are cleaned several times a day, and the rehab therapists are really great. If you have a complaint, they respond to it right away, like a food issue. I have been there to help feed my wife twice a day so we have been sharing all the meals provided. I found the food mostly very edible and tasty. The desserts are great. We are both full from the meals provided. Once you are in a wheelchair, you can dine in the café where the servers are very attentive to patient requests. The main problem is that the patient must wait for their one hour of physical therapy a day by remaining in the bed or in a wheelchair. This is drudgery to my wife who is being discharged tomorrow after three weeks. The hospital team handles everything with managing insurance and the coordination of equipment needed at home. Since my wife's stroke, I have met a lot of nurses and medical personnel and I want to especially thank all the kind and loving nurses who helped us, transportation personnel, social workers, doctors, PT and speech therapists, imaging techs.

Good morning. My visit yesterday at the Heights of Summerlin was a 10. The Front Desk Receptionist was cordial, considerate, and very kind. My visit with my love one went very well. We was outside, enjoying the warm weather, & the Chaperone was very kind and pleasant.

It looks like the rehab has changed since I was there for 23 days two years ago. The staff was wonderful, the food was outstanding, the cafe was fun, I had two baths/shampoo each week, PT was very helpful and I really liked being there. I visited a few weeks ago to see a friend and she complained. It looked clean to me but I wasn't staying as a patient. This is sad because the place was wonderful when I was there and did wonders for my recovery.

My father was well cared for by attentive staff. Not sure what happened with all these negative reviews. It passes the smell test upon entering. The lobby has a calming fish tank. Staff make themselves available to talk though they are very busy. Dad was there a month and I never saw staff not working hard. None of his possessions got misplaced. Overall as good as such an experience could be.

I would first like to point out how amazing the staff is here at Heights of Summerlin, Las Vegas, Nevada. Every time I visit here, I am warmly greeted with a smile by an associate by the name of Brenden Miller, and many other Height’s employees. It almost feels as if I am back home, in the south, every time I arrive, due to the southern hospitality I receive. Not only are the staff friendly, but they take excellent care of my grandmother. If I could give them more stars I would.

I want to say my Grandmother was a paitent at the hights a couple weeks ago for rehab for get hip and I want to say they did a awesome job with her. I want to say the director of rehab his name is Jason is the best. The staff was great and would refer anyone who needs these kinds of services. The admissions girls were great and helpful getting the care she needed. She was on the 2nd floor station 2 her nurse Mandi was great they treated her like a person not a patient.
Israel Cintora
Brittany at the front desk is very knowledgeable about the things going on in the establishment. We appreciate our nurses who help take care of our loved one. You are all in our hearts and prayers, so thank very much!🙂 …

The Heights of Summerlin is my new place of employment.
I have worked my entire career in healthcare and can say with certainty that the physicians, nurses, staff and management at this facility is out standing, always going the extra.
The facility live out it mission statement
"make a difference, every day, every time"
Not often in life can we say, I love my place of employment and the feeling to go to work daily meet the same level of excitement.
I would like to give special recognition to the front desk staff, the food services department for delivering quality hospitality daily.
Thanks for making difference.

I must say I am very sceptical of nursing facilities and rehabilitation centers. But, from day 1 to day 20 after my mother's unfortunate accident, the stay/treatment @The Heights of Summerlin was quite refreshing. I personally experienced this special dedicated team of caregivers in action. Eileen and her team attended their patients like family. It was comforting to know that Kimberly, Monique, Javier, along with multiple shifts of caring nurses and aids were their 24/7 watching over my mom like family. I think they were truly angels in disguise, (wings on the inside). I highly recommend the Heights of Summerlin Rehab for anyone needing that special touch and support care during the trying times of recovery. 5 stars from me. I would definitely choose them again without hesitation... 🤠Tedd Brandes

I don't know where the negatives are coming from, but I have been on the phone concerning my father's care several times a day and all the staff has been a pleasure to talk to. I live in TN and can't be with him right now, but the staff has complied with every request I've made. So I'm going to give them a four. I'm just not getting the poor service others are describing.

The facility is very clean. The best thing about this place is the people!
From Elizabeth @ front desk, Jason & Latoya & Ladonna in admin - Nurses Marilyn, Kelly, Karla, Yolanda, Darlene, Ana, Karen, Quan, Barbara, Deborah. Tracy, Anson, Cynthia, Ren, Crystal (the hugmonster), Nicole, Mike & Ramone just to name a few. All of the CNA's - Amaroni, Rodrigo, Am, Barbara, Rowell, Charmaine, Wendy, Lyn, Brenda ... Therapy is really dynamite. Kayla in wound care is always cheerful & very good. I cannot name all the wonderful people at this facility because my memory is not so good but they are all the very best !! Did I mention Linda from nurse station 2? The food is good thanks to chef Lily & Chef Destiny& Grandma & Maria bring joy to the Floral Cafe.
Although I am happy to be going home, I will miss the people!

My 90 year old Mother here for three weeks, Supervisor Stacy, Nurse Sunshine, Baby Chaly, Tammy were all incredible and very attentive to her. Very appreciative to these ladies, and so very thankful for they're hard work, because I know they were short staffed. Highly recommend!

I have but (1) Father in this world and he means the WORLD to me. When it became necessary for me to take over the care of my 94-year-old Father I was afraid to place the care of my Father with strangers though Professional Nurses, and Therapists here at The Heights of Summerlin. I Prayed my Father would be given better care than I could give. You can't always hope for that kind of attentive care at many facilities. Most care more about money than the residents. Fortunately, this was NOT my experience. I couldn't have hoped for a more caring, sensitive, and responsive staff than was my experience here at The Heights of Summerlin. I wish I could list the staff ALL by name, but they know who they all are that cared for my Father, whom they did not know. I give great appreciation to the Social Workers namely Michelle DuQue a FANTASTIC person. Michelle has a gift of knowing when you need to hear from someone, and she calls. I kid you NOT it's almost Spiritual. lol! Most Administrations do not know the meaning of "follow-up" Michelle is ACES when it comes to following up in a timely manner. Thank you, Michelle. As for the Nurses who were my Father's Angels, THANK YOU ALL! for the Physical, Speech, and Occupational Therapists, my Mother, family and I Thank you Sincerely. Lastly, but not least Thank you to the new Administrator Stacy Brown for her Leadership, and for hitting the ground running in all the directions that matter most. Your staff is listening, and they are responding in kind. My Father has been the beneficiary of everyone's professional care. My Dad is stronger in mind, body, and spirit from his care at The Heights of Summerlin because you clearly care. I gave 4 out of 5 stars, because of the food service not being up to par. Food Service timing & quality of food gets a low mark from me. My Dad's menu stated items he did not get on his tray. The quality of food was somedays inedible, and I would send it away. I found myself bring my Dad meals every single day to ensure he was getting at least (1) decent meal per day. The meats were dry and over cooked. Most times the food was barely room temperature. For a while there I thought the cook was a 5-year-old, because dinner would be hot dogs, cold yet grilled ham & cheese more like a lunch meal than a dinner meal, fish sticks & cold tatter tots. In my former life I was a Food Service Administrator for Banner Health in Phoenix, AZ. I would NEVER allow such poor quality of food to go onto the floor for patients and it shouldn't be allowed especially for residents at a facility like The Heights, but I know Ms. Brown will give attention to that issue as soon as she can catch her breath. Lastly, housekeeping needs to wipe surfaces down, and wipe the window ledges inside the rooms PLEASE! The window ledge in my Dad's room was FILTHY. I cleaned the TV Table surface, his bedside table and the window ledge and the dirt on the Lysol disinfectant wipes was ridiculous, I went through several wipes removing surface dirt. Communication, food, cleanliness, care, and attention to details is what makes a Nursing Facility like the Heights of Summerlin a 5 Star Residence for Loved Ones. Overall, If I ever need the service you provide in the future we'll be back. Thank you and God Bless you all and the care you provide.
