I don't know how you could rate this place with anything but five stars! Simon was incredibly helpful when we first picked out the violin for my daughter and when we came back a year and a half later to get strings replaced. He was fast and efficient but took the time to answer any questions we had. Highly recommend this for all of your violin needs!

McHugh Violins is the best fine music store I have been to. Simon is quite personable and kind and takes good care of his customers. I have gone to him for about 10 years and he has done a lot of work free of charge just because he is the one who sold me the instrument, regardless of whether it is still under warrantee. He does excellent work, has great prices, is very relatable, and has beautiful and well-priced instruments. If you live near Wichita, don't go anywhere else for your fine instruments.

Played violin for 9 years and finally got my own instrument (not from this shop) online locally . My g string was almost close to snapping so I brought my instrument in to be looked at because it seemed like a good shop with amazing reviews and he instantly looks at it and replaces the string free of charge. I had no idea what it was going to even cost but I was amazed at how quick and helpful he was . Will be making this my go to shop for anything I need with my violin from here on out !

Simon is one of the nicest, most friendly people to work with. He was patient and genuinely interested in helping me find the right violin setup over the course of a couple months (had to save up a little bit and wasn't sure what a violin would cost). Simon is a knowledgeable and skilled luthier, and his customer service is some of the best I've ever experienced. This is probably the most deserving 5-star review I've ever given.

He is a very dedicated man to the fixing of string instruments. He is the nicest person in the industry in Wichita. I recommend going to Mr. McHugh before going to Senseny or any other string instrument shop and repair. He is a very kind man that care very much about his costumer rather than his sale. He will take care of your instruments like it was his own. He is a wonderful person.

Simon McHugh is an amazing luthier, and a wonderful person. I teach strings, and he gives my students the same high quality service that he does my own instrument. He is honest, he does a great job servicing instruments and bows. Whether you need new strings, an accessory, a major instrument repair, or just want an opinion/advice about a string instrument, he will help you and do it at a reasonable rate. If you are a string player (or the parent of a string player), you'll be a regular here in no time!
