Reviews of Byrdland Records
Highly recommend for both record purchases and stereo equipment repair. Staff is so nice. Patrick took my father’s old turntable and cleaned and repaired it to full function. He always was upfront about costs and what was possible. We are now enjoying our old records on a turntable from my childhood! Thank you
First time shopping here. I really enjoyed the selection of records, I found some really cool albums. Even though it was busy, we still had a nice experience.
Byrdland is the best! I emailed them to double check if they had a record and they told me it wasn’t out on vinyl yet. When it was released a month later, their buyer placed an order and let me know they were holding a copy in the store for me. Thanks for all you do!
This is, by far, the best record store I’ve ever been to. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, their inventory is terrific, and they throw very cool events and promos. You can’t go wrong by shopping at Byrdland.
I had the wonderful experience of attending Fresh Produce, @freshproduceusa on IG at Byrdland Records sponsored by Opengem , @opengemusa on IG.
The staff were courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. The store has a vast selection of genres, and they truly support local artists. BYRDLAND is a delight for your ear and eyes. BYRDLAND is definitely the Heart ❤️ of the community. I thank you.
Good selection of new albums, and a small but carefully selected variety of used records. The album I was looking for wasn't in stock, but I had a nice chat with an employee and he had a lot of other recommendations. Do be aware that this store is a bit on the expensive side.
Great records and record players, good vibes, cool people roaming around. Records old and new covering a lot of genres.
Really solid store. Diverse collection of vinyl for such a small joint. Most records are new but they have a few stacks of used. Pricey but good cuts. I picked up an Al Green record, a classic Prince record, and a Thelonious Monk live limited edition for a total of about $80. Friendly staff, not snobby.
Best record store in DC. Love that they started a record label featuring local artists.
Good selection and well organized. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful (even gave me some free promo stickers) about the business and their ordering processes.
The coolest part is they actually keep a stock of the albums from bands that play at their location up the street (SongByrd) so if you catch a show but can't get an album then you can always get one later!
10/10 will always pop in if in the area.
Always a great experience to dig through the deep selection of superb vinyl. The staff is super knowledgeable, and so positive when helping and answering questions. They have new music, some surprising finds, and then some "diamond-in-the-rough" used vinyl to get lost in, and eventually end up spending your paycheck, with a smile though! We brought home a nice haul, but I always leave things behind that I still want. No worries, we'll be back to get them!
An all around incredible record store that features new and old vinyl that can appease anyones taste. They also have a nice selection of record players and audio equipment to help people get set up or upgrade their current sound systems. This place is a must stop for music lovers.
Decent smaller shop with mostly new records priced on the higher end.
A very nice record store. They have a pretty solid selection of newer and unique records (while their used selection was more limited). Their space is very fun and they have a lot of offerings beyond the standard store (equipment and events). The only major drawback I thought was in the pricing department. From what I could tell average record was around $30.
Great! Lots to choose from and they can order stuff for you. Good amount of classics on sale or on discount. They carry speakers, record players, and more. First time, I got there about 20 minutes before they open and a staff member open the door for me, he took time from eating his lunch to help me with questions. Really nice place!
This shop had fair prices, all genres, and a lounge area. Couldn't ask for more.
This is a very neat record shop in a unique location. It's the best spot in DC that I've found so far for new releases. Will be returning!
Very cool joint with a massive new vinyl selection. Smaller but diverse used section. Loved it.
I love this outpost. Solid record selection, a focus on DC music and bands. The owner was at the counter and she seemed positively delightful. One nice touch was albums from bands that had played at sister location Songbyrd (in AdMo) had a little sticker indicating they had played there with the date of the show, which I was tickled by.
Decent shop with a varied selection. Pick up a Pharoah Sanders album I've looking for a while. Not too much used records, more new, new represses off older album.
A wonderful record shop. I always end up buying more than I plan to when I shop here. Great selection and a cool vibe. Highly recommended.
Nice record shop with great selection
Very nice record store. Great vibes. Good music selection. Clerks were really cool.
Old fashioned vinyl records only. If you're into retro, this is great. Remember, you need space to store them and set up the turntable.
Cool record store with some nice selections
Quality vinyl also vintage turntables in the rear lounge. Also rereleased albums and great prices.
BYRDLAND has the goods to fill some of the empty spaces in my collection!
Wonderful new store with great selection of jazz and hip hop records. Will be returning.
A music shop specializing in selling vinyl records with a great selection and knowledgeable staff.
I spent way too much money there, I wish someone would would have stopped me at a certain point but I just love records so much! Frank Zappa!
Loved this place. Cool little record store with hidden gems
Always a great experience when I go here. They are always friendly and knowledgeable.
This is fairly well stocked record shop. Check it out!
Great selection! Prices are a bit steep though
Best service in a record store of the DMV area
Great selection and vine. Friendly staff.
Great selection, helpful staff.
Good and satisfying.
This place is awesome. A complete memory lane.
Great selection of records.
Found some great music!
Great selection!
Fantastic selection and service.
Always a great selection!
Great shop
It's new stuff mostly, not for digging through crates of old records. Prices for new stuff are the same as how they would be if you find them online. Old stuff is pricey but it's worth it if you find something good, but again, mostly just new stuff. Not for digging
