Reviews of Microgroove
Whoops, I left my review for the wrong store. I did stop at Microgroove on the same day. They had a small selection of Christmas records, and I did find one that I needed, which can be hard sometimes. So please ignore what I said before and stop in if you're close by!
Original (wrong) review: The only Christmas music they had was new vinyl, which isn't my thing. And they've moved about three doors down in the same shopping center. Seems like they have much more room now.
Great little record store. They have a variety of records with reasonable prices. The owner is also very kind and easy to talk to.
Locally owned. Great selection of vinyl. Owner is the best. I feel privileged to have a record shop such as Microgroove in my neighborhood.
Love this place and the guy who runs it is always super cool with either my son or me… Would be better if he got more new stuff in regularly… Don’t wanna make it over the Howard Franklin if there isn’t new stuff or another reason… And when I say new, I also mean Mint to VG (very good) used vinyl… if you haven’t ever gone there & like music you’re never gonna hear on the radio, you must check this place out…
Sweet little spot. Good selection of records, all records sleeved and in good condition - even the used and here's the best part. PRICED WELL! In a time when record prices are soaring, they've kept it nice and cool. Definitely looking to going back and finding some more gems.
Just did a trade in. Kind sir was willing to make a deal. Very nice and welcoming dude. Support this shop.
This record store is a must for music fans and hard-core music lovers. They have a big selection in a cozy space, and are happy to place custom orders - rad!
I absolutely enjoyed my visit. The guys that work there were very polite and had great suggestions. They asked everyone to use hand sanitizer on the way in and I appreciate maintaining safety. For a small place, it has a great collection and packing some 🔥! I found albums here that I have not found in other records that are quite larger. I will definitely be back soon to pick up some more great choices. If you can, swing by to check it out!
This place is great! it doesn't have the most giant collection of records, but the ones in stock are, almost without exception, in respectable or better quality. The manager is very open and will talk with you about whatever music you're into and make recommendations too.
Great shop. Really nice owner. Highly recommended!
Nice quaint shop with vast organized collection of records. I sold about 250 records/albums in one stop. Half my albums were late 50s early 60s rock and roll then some 80s jazz & movie soundtracks. The owner was laid back, no pressure, understanding, efficient & offered a reasonable price, keeping in mind the burden is now on him to store & wait for the right customer to make a purchase. Overall I left happy & felt the deal was fair.
Great little record shop, have visited three times and always grab something from there. Has an abundance of things from rare, vintage, and new records. Also has local and regional bands as well as shirts and some other treasures.
Nice store, not really our vibe.
Whatever you do, do Not look in boxes on the floor. Got scolded by the owner for trying to find our daughter some cool vinyl.
Not particularly a good choice for classic rock.
Any record you pick up here is in pretty much pristine condition, even the cheap ones. Owner is really nice and helpful on discovering new music and he hosts shows at his shop. They usually have a good record playing and it makes for a fun, peaceful Saturday afternoon hunting for treasures. Great record store.
The best place in Tampa for new and used vinyl, particularly indie stuff. Knowledgeable, friendly staff. Support local! They'll start doing live shows again when it's safe.
This place is awesome. I bought a record player at an estate auction and wanted to get some albums and went into the store and they had almost everything I was looking for plus unexpected albums that I also found. The owner was super helpful too.
I want to love this place more, but their selection of vinyl is limited compared to some of the other shops in the Tampa Bay area. They make up for it with their friendliness and are always willing to answer questions help out in any way they can. They also support the local music scene and are located within walking distance of some of the heights best standard food and drink. Totally recommend.
Easily one of the best small venues in the Tampa area. The owner is a great dude who holds shows for local and touring acts and gives all the door sales directly to the bands. He optimizes supporting the scene and is a class act.
One of the best record stores in Tampa. A lot of great finds in the used section, prices are always fair if not more than that! Also a great spot to catch shows. Much respect and thanks to the owner for contributing so much to the local music community in Tampa!
Micro vinyl shop of probably less than 1,000 records on hand. Nice, clean and comfortable joint with a decent mix of new records and good used copies. Kind of an eclectic variety to be had so I'm sure the selections change fairly quickly. I would recommend Microgrove to find new listens and new gems.
A local treasure that serves a variety of needs in this neighborhood.
This record shop sells almost exclusively vinyl, with a few bargain bins of CD’s, some cassettes, and various music-related pieces of merch from independent artists and labels.
The selection at the shop is well maintained, well organized, and fairly priced. There are artists ranging from the obscure to the well known, as well as a bargain crate or two to pick through.
Additionally, the shop sometimes hosts shows after hours (sometimes even for free!), with both local and touring bands. It can get pretty crowded, but the owner is pretty flexible and accommodating with letting people find their own spots (ie standing in the rows of crates w your own drink is totally fine).
For special engagements (like Record Store Day), be sure to get there early, because it can get crowded!
Fantastic place with great prices, records, and staff. Me and friends spent a few hours picking through albums and finding cool stuff. Super friendly guy working there, too. I'm definitely going back.
This place has some awesome records! The staff is super super nice, helpful, and knowledgeable . I had lost my wallet while I was there and they found it and were kind enough to mail it back to me! Would definitely pass by again and get some more records, but won’t leave my wallet this time lol!
Dont let the size of the store fool you, they make up for it with the rarity of their vinyl. I found some very rare records here that I was happy to add to my collection. Check this place out you won't be disappointed.
Microgroove is a place where anyone can step in and feel welcome. It’s not only an awesome record store but also a hub for the Tampa local music scene. Owner is friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend
This place provides so much to the community. They represent local in their selection and in the bands they have play at their shows, which always feature the best acts in a comfortable and inviting environment. Whether you’re from out of town or from somewhere else in the Tampa Bay Area, you must go here to get a vibe of the spirit of Seminole Heights.
An independent record store worth checking out. I used to live in Brandon, and I try to get here every time I'm in the area, 2-3 times a year. There is always something new and unique and Keith is a very friendly guy. He sells everything from old pop albums for $1 to first pressings of Nirvana, Jawbreaker, etc. I've also picked up some used CD's such as Mudhoney's first major live recording. There's a definite indie rock and punk of all flavors focus to the selection.
top fave a few blocks from my house. always finding rare and great scores, plus Keith will order in anything new im looking for. plus always great in store shows and events. RSD is always a huge party.
One of my favorite places to kill time in Tampa. I always leave with 5-6 things that don't break the bank and bring me joy for years. (My most recent find was a Conway Twitty record that my boyfriend and I can't stop dancing to) And not to mention the shows- They often have some of the most interesting artists come through, I have been able to dance to so many great bands from all over the country. Thanks for existing Microgroove- you're everything I love about Tampa in one tiny space. Shop local!
Great place! Has a wide variety of local music recorded in the community. The staff is great and tge location is close to restaurants and music venues with local brews and other fine drinks. Great place to hear music as well.
Amazing selection. Even more amazing staff. The events are well organized and welcoming to all. Keep visiting because they always have new selections and are informative on local events.
Great selection of new and used Records. Reasonable prices and CDs too. I will become a regular.
A good and clean record store and they have all the classics
Nice local record shop in a unique setting. It is a small shop, but has a diverse selection and laid back vibe.
I visited Microgroove for the first time this afternoon. Keith assisted me as I had taken in some music CD'S to sale. I was completely satisfied. Go by and check them out.
Wish the store had more genres of music. But if you like rock and roll and new releases this place is cool
Great selection and good prices!
Awesome little record store I go there all the time always find something good if you're into vinyl do yourself a favor and visit microgroove
Great place! The only place in town to find reasonably priced used records. Fun place to crate dig!
It's not ever record store you can leave and feel confident that you are not missing anything. Perfect size to flip through it all, with most being pretty cool at that. 5/7
There was a good selection of albums, the prices were very reasonable. The owner was very nice and knowledgeable.
Great vibe. Cool owner who's always getting new stuff. Fun place to browse.
Great shows, great selection, great owner. A staple of the Tampa scene and a mandatory stop on any Tampa visit. 10/10 will visit again!
Microgroove is the best - from vinyl selection to hosting DIY shows - they are true heroes in tampa bay! Thank you for existing!
Friendly staff. Diverse collection with accurate grading. Vinyl records were priced appropriately.
