I love this place, it’s so cool. They had really fun punk rock music playing while I was in there and the vibe was just really cool, lots of people just browsing records and cds. The staff there are really nice. I found one of my favorite albums while I was there so that was great too.

Dustin is a huge music nerd and helped us out immensely with recommendations. They really care about what they do, and have a passion for connecting people with music they will love. Everyone there was so very nice, but Dustin spoke with my friend for over 15 minutes about recommendations for music she would like based on her tastes and interests. The store is huge for a record shop, and selection is pretty good, featuring a lot of new pressings alongside vintage ones. While it is intentionally grubby in aesthetics, the facilities are clean.

It's a happening place. Went on a Saturday about 5 pm. Traffic was strong, lots of new releases to go along with the vintage product. You'll find quite an expansive selection. I have been quite a few times. My only complaint is I have usually not found staff to be much more than there. I am never greeted and very little personality in any interactions I have had there. Just my experience, I'm sure others have had different experiences. But a great store nonetheless.

I was visiting StL for the weekend and stumbled upon this gem. Wow oh wow what a place! Miles and miles of vinyl! The organization of all that music is highly appreciated, and I especially like the tips on the dividers (e.g., the Wilco marker says "See also: Uncle Tupelo, Son Volt, Tweedy, Farrar"). My wife talked me into leaving before my total purchase had a comma, but I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town.

It was a great experience. Not only did I find the CD's and LP that I was looking for, I had to tell the staff I had a medical emergency and needed to use the restroom, even though I knew they don't have a public restroom. They allowed me to use the restroom with no problems. That tells me that Vintage Vinyl cares more about their customers more than just what we spend in their shop! When I ever need a CD or LP, Vintage Vinyl is my first stop!

I had not been to Vintage Vinyl in 20 years. I went in looking for particular vinyl records and I was not disappointed. I picked up Black Sabbath's self titled album for a great price. My wife found a couple of 45s she like and I sampled my album for quality purposes before I bought. There were other records I desired to look for but did not find. Their selection was excellent and there were more records we wanted but did not have time to look for. We will return in the future for more browsing and purchasing. Great store! On a side note, we parked on the side of the store with the metered parking. I popped in our only two quarters which gave us thirty minutes to park. We walked out after being in the store for about 45 minutes, and sure enough the meter maid had fined us $15.00 for an expired meter. So, take several quarters to park with.

I absolutely love Vintage Vinyl! They have a ginormous selection of records, CDs and even DVDs. Their music is very well organized and the prices are fair and reasonable. I was asked by at least 3 employees if i needed help while i was looking at records. I found 3 records that i was interested in getting, but only ended up getting one from a local St. Louis punk band in there extensive local section. It is always a treat going in Vintage Vinyl, and i'm always excited for my next trip.

I have been to Vintage Vinyl countless times but I went in looking for some records for my Dad as a gift this time and I was impressed! I have been searching for these records for years and have never had any luck. It’s a slapstick comedy routine and most people have no idea what I’m talking about. I asked my usual question about the records expecting the same answer I always get but it was my lucky day. Matt helped me and he knew exactly was I was talking about! I can't believe the cost of the inventory when everything is available for free or next to nothing online. I understand vinyl is collectable but even the used CDs were quite costly. But, you could find pretty much anything you can think of.... Very large inventory.

Kindof hard to go wrong here. You might be able to get some of the vinyls here cheaper online, but I think at this point you're paying for the experience of being in a brick and mortar store, which is well worth it. They also have a decent selection of movies, like The Brain that Wouldn't Die on DVD. Any store that has The Brain that Wouldn't Die on DVD is a five in my book

Good selection, exhaustive in fact, great atmosphere. There was a good sale going on when I was there on cds, the staff was friendly but they left me alone to search, it was a good vibe. It surprisingly feels like a straight up local hometown music store that would be deep in a city, not smack in the middle of a tourist area like this one is. It's a neighborhood music shop old style, do yourself a favor if you are in the Delmar loop and stop by.

The selection of used items is impressive for a smaller market like St. Louis, and if you want new stuff it's there as well. I used to engage the staff about music related stuff, but haven't my last couple of visits. Always knowledgeable, and I wouldn't expect it to be any different now.

Quite possibly the best record store in St. Louis, at least neck and neck with Euclid if not better for the selection of affordable collectables, peerless staff, and hands-down best selection of local music available anywhere in town. You practically can't help walking out with something sweet to spin. Lots of good in store concerts, too. This place is sacred ground for music lovers.

Parking can be a nightmare. I was looking for the Gypsy double album on CD (out of print) but they didn't have it ... they did say that it comes in some times.

Vintage Vinyl is alright. The used stock tends to be fairly dynamic with new arrivals coming in all the time. The new inventory isn't the most exciting for me, but if you're looking for Pitchfork-indie & mainstream titles, you'll probably love it.

Cool record store with a really nice mix of new and used vinyl and a healthy cd and dvd selection. I really liked the small record store vibe even though it is a pretty good sized place. The little signs and pictures on the walls all over show the staff really enjoy what they do and are dialed in to the local music scene too. I will definitely be back next time I am in town.

The best music store in St. Louis. Listen before your buy. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. I have particularly enjoyed the listening booth which has 60 albums for your listening enjoyment. It has a mix of mainstream and indie and has been a great place to discover new music.

For jazz- a good selection. Not great. Broad strokes, too many repeats of the same record over and over. Take it out of rotation and put in something different. I see a lot of people saying their collection is so eclectic. Not so much. A lot of fairly beatup thrift store unwanted vinyl in their cheap stuff, not worth digging thru. Honestly I was expecting a lot more based on the high reviews. I don't see it. Could use a remodel. I would go back but only if I was nearby. I think Euclid Records has it beat on all fronts. Staff was very friendly.

Came the day before RSD, and one of the employees was super informative about showing up early to wait in line. They can ship records for $5. Not sure if it’s a flat rate, but I had two albums (one of which was a gatefold) shipped to me. The store is huge.

Prices are pretty high compared to Reckless Records in Chicago or ordering via Amazon but they have a surprisingly deep selection for being in a city that every other city can agree sucks. I found Elvis's Greatest Shit here (super rare album released right after Elvis died made from stage banter and studio outtakes. There is no music and only exists to piss on Elvis's corpse before it was cold. Worst album ever but also a must listen) and a really cool harsh noise compilation from an artist out of Texas. Definitely the best record store in STL.

They have so many records, cds, and cassettes for everybody!!! I can not stress this enough, if you love music then there is no way you could leave here empty handed. Though they have been around a long time when it comes to selling them your stuff be prepared to get ripped off. If you are in desperate need of loot check them out but be warned they typically try to penny pinch as much as possible even if what you are bringing in is still sealed and has never been played. You are better off selling on ebay or going to half price books. Only giving them 4 stars because of their history and music selection but the real St.Louisan's knows wassup and will forever miss Street Side Records.

Great place to find something you can't find anywhere else. And of course an extensive vinyl collection to shop in. Classic record shops like this are hard to come by. This is a must visit for music lovers passing through or living in STL. They are a bit over priced though, that's my only complaint.
