An audiophile's playground! So many albums to choose from. I was lucky enough to attend their Record Store Day deals tent and gather 30 albums for my collection. They also had plenty of 45's, CD's, DVD's and cassettes to choose from. We also grabbed a half dozen of children's DVD's to donate to the elementary school.
We can't wait to go back! 🤘🤘🤘

Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Been looking for a first press of Aqualung for years from Springfield MO to Dallas TX. They had it along with some Tool CD's I've been searching for. My 7 year old bought his 1st comic book.

The Record Exchange is like no record store you’ve ever been to! Firstly, the place is huge with TONS of stacks to flip through, it’s in a beautiful old building that was formerly a public library! The greatest asset of the shop is its staff. They’ve got an extensive knowledge of music, record players, audio equipment and even replacement parts. It’s really any music lovers dream. Shop local, support small business!

Massive amounts of inventory and diverse too. If you are going make sure you give yourself a few hours to take it all in. Great atmosphere. I could easily spend sn entire day there digging through all the vinyl and movies.

The name in all honesty should be… Endless Records.
While killing time in St. Louis, MO, I decided to stop by this music store to see what they offered. Well, they offer endless vinyl to pour over. Endless cds to browse. Endless vhs tapes to get at a cheap price. They had it all and then some.
Rows and rows and rows of cds, vinyls, dvds, vhs tapes. Boxes and boxes of the same all over the place. If you are claustrophobic, this store is not for you. If you are a music lover, this store is for you. If you are both… well take your chance and maybe find something cool or unique.
The prices on everything seems pretty good, if not a bit cheap. Every artist I thought of, I found something from them. Even happened upon bands I haven’t heard of in forever.
They do take trade-ins if you are looking to offload rare music stuff or music players. Quite a great little stop if you love music or vinyl or clutter. I tried to capture the charm and the quantity of stuff available in my photos, so you can see what I am talking about.

If you’re in the St. Louis area and you’re looking for an expansive collection of physical media to browse, look no further! The Record Exchange has everything from vintage vinyl treasure, contemporary vinyl finds, laser discs, VHS, CDs, BetaMax tapes, video game cartridges and tons more! Fairly priced, the friendliest service and sweeping rows and rows of music and media collectibles, this place is a must visit for all music and media lovers! Thank you Jean and Jena for keeping this vinyl fantasy alive!

One of the go-to places for vinyl in STL. Great selection that has sadly wavered in recent years due to used LP demand but that's normal. Still a must-go-to shop, has everything audio too not just records. They have CDs, hardware, tapes, whatever, it's here. Hardware is a bit overpriced but it's just vintage supply and demand. Worst thing is trying to cut back your picks to keep you under the occasion budget. Ha!
Gene
More music ... vinyl, CD's, cassettes and DVD's than you can possibly imagine. Prices are fairly reasonable and you'll find stuff that you haven't seen or heard in many years as well as most of the stuff that is on everyone's play list.
The ONLY problem is the heating and cooling system apparently does not work. Every time I have been there, it has been so incredibly uncomfortable temperature wise that I only stayed 10 minutes or so before leaving. It is not worth looking through a million records with sweat running in my eyes. I'll shop Amazon instead.
louisfriend33
The selection is their biggest strength and also their biggest weakness. The place looks like an episode of the show hoarders. There were some international records I wanted to look through but couldn't because of the stacks of junk and loose records blocking the shelves. The records I bought were in rough shape. I should have checked them closer before buying. I appreciate what they are trying to do here, but seriously they need to clean this place up a bit.
Chris Sotraidis
Every record collectors wet dream. Considering how much stuff there is here it is surprisingly well organized. Talk to someone if you get lost. Large collection of laser discs. Great for 45' collectors. Really awesome bargain bins. Tons of used receivers. Crazy amounts of every genre. Tons of used turntables, cassette decks, 8 track players, etc.
It can get really hot here. Don't wear jeans. Not good for people who hate tight spaces or dust.
Seth Lindsey
Make a list of records you'd like to own, then spend a day here digging. The space is a wonderfully worn former library worthy of one's time. Prices on records are good based on popularity.
I've been in and out of this place for over a decade, and in that time it seems there's been more coming in than going out. Back in the day, one could walk right up to the bins holding the records, but now you'll be leaning over skyscrapers of old stereos. Need a cassete deck or 17? 8 track player or turntable? They got em all! I personally think the prices are kind of high for regular consumer grade audio equipment.
Ron Hinkle
Million records and nothing in my wheelhouse. Maybe you alive to 70 and over or just more of an eclectic taste. Don’t go looking for anything new
D Mercer
I absolutely loved this place but it seemed to have no ac and it was extremely hot in there when we went. But in the bright side my boyfriend got an awesome record that had been autographed and I was able to buy to books about Frank Sinatra. All in all it is am amazing store just a little too hot.
Steve W
if you are looking for old vinyl, or CDs DVDs or even cassettes and 8tracks this is a good place to look.
It is in the old Buder Public Library building and it has a massive amount of items for you to shop be warned though there's no air conditioning in the summer and it is tough to move through there as there is just so much merchandise there!
Kyle O'Reilly
If you are mildly claustrophobic or get anxiety from clutter, this place ain't for you but if you love crate digging this is your nirvana. I scored a VG copy of Neil Young's Everybody Knows This is Nowhere for 7 bucks and picked up a great old R&B 45 by a St Louis band that is not available anywhere online. You could come here everyday for a month and still only see a fraction of the selection! Everybody was super nice and friendly service wise too. They aren't carrying the hip new releases so don't expect sealed copies of new records but do expect amazing archival finds and great prices on well-known and sought after records.
Todd Senzig
I do love coming to browse this place. There is something for everyone, and even if they didn't have exactly the thing I was looking for, I've never left empty handed. My dealings here are strictly with purchasing records and CDs; I have not purchased any audio equipment or sold any records here so I can't speak to reviews addressing those interactions.
My couple of gripes, and the reason I've docked a couple of stars...
This place is a claustrophobic's nightmare. The building is an old library building of 1960s vintage and would be perfectly suited to a record shop. However the walls and aisles are lined with boxes upon boxes upon boxes of records. I suspect this is because the owner used to have several other record stores around town and these were eventually all consolidated to this location, and the inventory just stacked wherever it would fit. Added to that are stacks and stacks of home A/V equipment...receivers, tape decks, DVD players, speakers, CD players, phonographs of just about every description literally piled everywhere. All this makes it difficult to squeeze through some of the aisles and there are in fact some sections that are pretty much inaccessible that otherwise should not be. It's a pity because this store has an incredible inventory just in the stuff that's in the racks and shelves for sale, not counting the boxed up miscellany and overstock.
The other thing is that it's sweltering hot in the summer. The air conditioning is non functioning or non existent. For example when I was in this past week (late July) it was cooler outside than it was inside. No doubt this can't be good for the records and other stock.
I would love to love this place, and despite the shortcomings will still jump at the chance to come in. If the air got fixed and the boxed up overstock got cleared out as well as the excess AV stuff, this would be an even more enjoyable place to spend a day, ehr, uhm, a week. How about an ongoing sidewalk sale with deep discounts until the back stock is gone, or sell it $xx.xx for the whole box as a grab bag sale? Would probably generate more money that way than it does just sitting there taking up space.
All in all, recommended! But if you want a less cluttered and more climate controlled experience, stop in to Euclid Records in Webster Groves as well.
PinoyAndBrasileiroTravels
One of the best record store in St. Louis!
Will definitely comeback! The have a massive collection! Incredible!
Jack Keeton
Like a kid in a candy store. This store has such a variety. The store had so much to offer audiophiles and vinyl enthusiasts. I didn't even get upstairs to look at the huge 45 records they have in stock. The owner informed me that they are opening a store on the Illinois side in Collinsville. Opening 4-18-2018.
Shawn Baybo
Awesome place, so much cool vintage stuff to look at. I found some cds they don't print anymore and had a great time looking around. Staff were really nice and helpful as well.
Joshua Williams
This is a place to get lost in. I had a blast looking through laserdiscs! Any place with a Jim Varney stand-up is a guaranteed good time. I spent about an hour there before I started to get a little claustrophobic, so I took an nap in the car while my wife spent another hour plus. Can't wait to go back.
Joe Durand
Just discovered this place today and it's awesome! Keep up the great work! One of the best organized vinyl shops I've been to. Still have to do some searching but found what I was looking for today.
wayne light
Crazy awesome store. A must see for yourself at the collection!
Your Buddy Geo
The Record exchange has the largest selection of Used Everything, the amount inventory is just insane! Looking for VHS, DVD, Blu-Ray, CD's Records, 45's they have it all, and if Jazz or old school.sounds are your thing they have tons of it!
Caryann Craven
I was astonished by this place and completely amazed at how big this place really is and everything inside! Although I was a little let down when the older man at the front desk whom I was selling used records to, I donated 2 boxes of records as well through my own business and he didn't even ask what that business was called. He didn't seem interested or to care. Other than he got free records! And then he turned around and walked away! But the place itself is a must see!
Curt Hejda
Large Selection of records, DVDs, CDs and vintage electronics. You can spend the whole day and they're not see it all
Breanna Frazier
I lucked up when I found this place, great selection and variety. The owner found a Frankie Lymon album for me and for that alone I will forever come back to this place. I stop in once a week and always find gems to add to my collection. Plenty of Tina Turner records if your looking. It has horrible cell reception when you get inside so heads up. But besides that its my favorite record shop.
Scott Galvin
I found all the rack stereo gear I was looking for at prices way below the Ebay standards for vintage gear. My daughter appreciated the original pressing selection of vinyl not just reissues. Helpful staff made for a fine visit. Would recommend to those travelers to our city in need of any gear! Hundreds of black faced and dozens of silver faced units, turntables and speakers. Family is planning a return visit to dig deeper into the vinyl.
Tony White
The most amazing selection of music in the most amazing building. Almost couldn't get my 16 year old out of there with all the Beatles stuff.
Kevin Wright
Excellent selection, great service and overall chill vibe.
Joe Madigan
You can spend hours getting lost among the records and it's fantastic! They also sell great vintage audio equipment. LPs on the first floor and 45s on the second floor. You will find some lost gems at a great price.
Eric Feltz
It used to be fun to browse record aisles here, but now every aisle is very overcrowded with electronics stacked up in front of the music you so want to peruse. It's a bit hoarder ish
Will Gleason
Words cannot describe how well-stocked this shop is for anything from the 80s and prior. Also, if you're in the maket for a new receiver, go here! It's rare for a record store to have any more than 10, but here, you will find a room with more receivers than you can count. You can tell that this store is well taken care of by a man with a deep passion for music. Everything was priced very reasonably. You WILL spend hours flipping and you'll leave with a heaping amount of heat for your turntable. Thank you for sharing your passion of music and showing how a .
Michael Thomas (M. Thomas)
This place is awesome. Records everywhere. Gear everywhere. You could spend days in this place. As many records as there are it is decently organized in the bins. Pricing is fair, you can tell he knows exactly what he has but gives a fair price. Pretty much a low discogs price plus whatever the shipping would be. Still in comparison to most places I found it quite competitive. I love the fact that everything is OG. No represses like tons of other places. Had a nice talk with the owner. Been running the shop for 45 years. Can’t say enough good things about this business. If you’re even remotely close, check it out, you won’t be disappointed.
Dustin French
Shelves and shelves full of used records, tapes, CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, laserdiscs, speakers, receivers, DVD players, and other memorabilia. I come here for used records constantly! They're cheap and you'll find just about anything your heart desires. You could spend an entire day here and not see all the stock. This place is a true St. Louis treasure!
Peter Prombo-Cates
I mean the Name says it all. I am now listening to Scary Stories after being put in the Spooky Mood by a Disney Haunted House Sounds Record. And of course my Pride an Joy, Songs of the Humpback Whale.
Todd Crawford
Always a great experience at Record Exchange. Huge selection, and the owner (who also works there) is extremely knowledgeable and helpful as well. Vinyl, cds, tapes, vintage speakers, turntables, collector's items, etc. It's all there!
Sea Merchant 46
This place is where it's at. Way cool. I love it here. Anyone could spend hours and hours here just looking around. They have a wide variety of music along with a ton of music related items such as posters or pictures or books. Variety of knick knacks items, there are probably one of a kind pieces as well. Can't remember the owner's name but he really helped me out and bought a bunch of stuff I was getting rid. Gave me more than fair price. I've had conversations with him on a few other occasions and he seems like very good people. Nice guy. This is someone and some place I definitely want to give my business to. Must check em out if you haven't already.
Emory Oliver
OMG.....I have never in my life seen so much box sets, vinyl,CDs and DVDs. Wish we had a store like this in Sikeston, Missouri. Was blown away with the selection of used CDs, cassettes, DVDs, and Vinyl. If you're ever in St. Louis look this store up. I bought some CDs and a Box set of Lynryd Skrynrd(it is a hard to find item). I will definitely be coming back. I'm gonna check them out online as well when I get home. I could have spent a day there. To me( an old school CD guy) it was HEAVEN ON EARTH. AND THE STAFF MEMBER was very nice. He didn't hover over me, let me look, then if I needed anything I'd ask him and he'd get it. Love this store......OH WAIT I ALREADY SAID THAT.....5 stars for sure....THANK YOU SO MUCH RECORD EXCHANGE....AND GOD BLESS YOU...
Andrew Ruesche
Incredible selection of music new and old . Music on everything from 8-track tapes to vinyl to cassettes to CDs. Movies on VCR/Beta tapes, laser disc, DVD and Blu-Ray. All sorts of memorabilia to peruse. Why are you still reading this? GO to Record Exchange, NOW!!!
Dan Clark
Great prices and huge stock, but be prepared to search through mountains of junk to find those great finds.
Great source for classical and jazz. If you are looking for more modern music, it's a little tougher to find here. Overall a great if a little cluttered place to go diving.
Keith Brandon
What a gem.... It's like an audio/visual antique mall.
Matthew Hundley
Be prepared to be overwhelmed. Record Exchange definitely overdelivers in terms of quantity and diversity of product: records, CDs, cassettes, (I think there were) 8-tracks; books, posters and other musical treasures; amplifiers, turntables, speakers; blu rays, dvds, vhs; and lots more. It's a bit claustrophobic. A bit disorganized (but getting better). And the folks the run the place aren't overly friendly (although this has gotten better with repeat visits). There are many treasures to be found here. The trick is understanding the lay of the land and then diving into the stacks and stacks of vinyl and CDs. Don't discount the entryway - which is stocked with discount CDs and Vinyl. Again, many diamonds in the rough if you keep your eyes peeled (and are willing to move a box or two out of your way). A must visit for any serious music collector.
Daniel White
Stopped by for the first time yesterday and wow, this is the coolest place on earth! I had a talk with Gene, the owner and learned so much. Great place, everything you need vinyl including turn tables, speakers, vintage, all genres, incredible nostalgia. Check it out.
Gwen Russell
Great place for old records you can get anything you looking for
Bill West
Great place for finding older vinyl. It can be overwhelming, make sure you have a few hours to look around and find something you have been trying to find.
David Johnson
I'm an out of towner. Wanted to visit the store. I was impressed. Do much stuff there isn't shelf space for it all. Purchased 7 or 8 vinyls averaging $8 each. All were near perfect condition.
Jeff Sanders
So much to look at. A little on the pricy side but you can honestly spend a whole day in there and not see everything. Great selection and more than just records. Super cool!
Dennis Hood
The quantity of used vinyl makes it seem likely you'd find what you were looking for. Every music enthusiast needs to come here to see how you display a quarter million records for sale. Here's the issue. Too much inventory makes the store hard to navigate due to very narrow aisles, and, ironically, very large regular customers that dont mind taking up space in critical locations and refusing to move so you can get around them. The hundreds of used turntables are interesting at first, but become redundant and in the way if you're not in the market. There are no latest releases and we did not find much in the way of modern metal. On this day there was no David Bowie. The feel is more that this is one person's mammoth collection, not a store with inventory. Prices are fair toward the high side and many things are not priced until you decide to buy. Still a must visit, but bring your want list to give you some focus.
Melissa's
Simply just MUST be the Nicest Guy in Town, Jean makes you feel at home in an already nostalgic atmosphere! Long hours available to make your LP or Video shopping easy and enjoyable! Even your youngest kids would appreciate the vibes here, at Record Exchange, on Hampton!
Bob Bobberton
Do you want to sell things or are you building a museum? Saw the news story about you saying you are "out of space" , you don't need more space....you need to put things at a more respectable price, it's no wonder you have hundreds of A/V receivers, $200 a pop for 80s/90's receivers with dried up capacitors?? Come on man, they go for $20-$50 all day, cd and bluray prices are pretty high too, some of them don't cost that new!
Emily Frohner
Always a totally awesome experience at my favorite record store! So much to see and so much fun to rifle through. First visit I was 14...I am now 51 and its never dull! Thanks Gene!
Too Tired (Too Tired)
An almost overwhelming amount of albums, cd's, cassettes that cover many artists from past decades. They also have a large amount of speakers, stereos, etc. Be prepared to spend a good while here!
Amy Martin
What a great shop! Friendly employees and such an expansive range of music. The owners know about every genre they carry and will spend all the time in the world discussing it with you. I was so pleasantly surprised to stumble upon the shop.
Squirt Squelterson
Once you get past the sheer quantity of LPs they have in this store, you can find some real gems at great prices. Metallica black album cassette for $7? Yeah, I bought it lol. Also got the Guns & Roses Paradise City revolver shaped single for $25. That's a steal. Great store and cool guys. Definitely recommend!
sonni the hungry yogi
A blast from the past! Super cool eclectic shop. Only go when you have time to browse because there are heaps of product. The order is disorder and it's easy to get wrapped up and lost in time. Always check before you buy! I didn't know this the first time and left with an unplayable album. Despite that, I always look forward to visiting this store.
Name Last Name (No Name)
Absolutely love this St Louis record store- this store practically has it all when it comes to music or music related items,Gene is the record exchange Master.!!. Love it 😊 …
Thomas Leith
Terrific place for music lovers. He's got gazillions of vinyl records, zillions of cds, multitudinous DVDs and Blu-rays, a turntable for any budget, receivers, reel to reel tape decks, a French Horn(!), guitars, electronic keyboards from toys on up, and more. He'll treat you right; I've been a customer since 1985.
Scott Phillips
The best record store for vintage vinyl in the state of Missouri. You don’t spend an hour or two here, you spend the day. Prices are reasonable for the most part. There is a listening station to hear how records play. If you can’t find it just ask. You will also have to work around boxes of records and fit into tight spaces while you shop; welcome to a crate digger’s paradise! Don’t miss the upstairs room full of 45s. I am disappointed they don't have a grading system for their vintage vinyl.
Brian D
Amazing selection to much junk that needs to be thrown away. Prices on like 70% of the records is pretty good the stuff I would buy 70s and 80s RnB way to high $7 for a album is only worth $3 to $4 no hanks. The rap selection had no prices there were like 600 records only like 10 were albums. Laserdiscs are way to high $7 when they are only worth like $3 to $4. Nobody is buying DVDs players VHS players all of needs to go. The stereo equipment selection 99% of is junk most of it is 90s junk the speakers are 90s all in one system junk. I only saw 3 decent turntables and 3 decent receivers. There is a decent $3 selection with like 1200 to 1500 records in the front the $1 selection is junk. Overall this is a decent store they just need to throw away to the junk and need better prices on like 25% to 30% of the selection.
Bill H
Great business- a lot of fun to browse the stacks. Traded in all those old cds I can just stream for credit in the store allowing us to buy the cool old stuff not online! Very friendly and helpful staff.
Joe
This is a cool old store with lots of music on pretty much any media you want. They also sell a lot of old hi-fi equipment. The store is pretty cluttered and dirty, but it fits the theme of the establishment well. The staff are pretty helpful and it's always fun to browse around in here.
Theodore Jackson
Yes, Record Exchange is a bit of a hoarder's nest. Yes, it can seem like a really square spot. No, you will not find new releases here. This is a store for record collectors, music lovers & not amateurs looking for Pitchfork's flavor of the week. I love this store. It's a long lived St. Louis institution in a magnificent repurposed St. Louis public library branch which is always a treat to spend some time digging through whether or not I come away with anything. The 45 room upstairs is a sight that has to be seen to be believed.
jbellows106
Just go. You will not be disappointed. An amazing collection of LPs, 45s, 8 tracks, CDs, DVDs and other formats I probably missed. The entire store is an awesome maze defined by towering piles of stereo equipment.
Jeremy Mehrtens
Basically a library of recorded musical history. Some unexpected cool stuff too, tons of memorabilia and vintage sound equipment. A must visit place for the discerning audiophile.
Czar of Science
We're always bringing in stuff to trade, otherwise our house would be more jam-packed than the Exchange.
Cool spot, if you can take the time to explore it fully you won't leave disappointed.
And grab a few speakers while you're in, you can always use a spare set.
Rachel Price
I loved this place. Could have spent 8+ hours there finding all kinds of treasures. I did find a few to take home and I can't wait to come back. A real gem!
C. Cotter
This is an overwhelming place. A destination to enjoy. Yesterday I purchased an AV amplifier. It was used, there was no box but I only paid 1 tenth of the amount I paid for my last amp. It lasted 3 yrs. Grrrr. Back on track, if your music and movie collection isn't on a cloud, this place will entertain you while exploring music from the last 100 yrs. Make sure to have some time to explore. Owner is so helpful. So is the rest of staff.
Colton Dever
Store has great selection and if you’re looking for used equiptment it’s the place to go. I don’t know if i just got unlucky or what but 3 of the 4 LPs i bought today play really badly. There was no place in the store that I’m aware of to test play LPs before buying unlike most places I’ve been. Very disappointed but i do realize it’s hard to test play each and every record that comes into the store, but if you’re going to price them at the prices you do, at least give them a quick playthrough even if it’s just a few seconds. You can get better prices for the same stuff at Monster Records in Collinsville IL.
Robert Cole
An amazing treasure trove of vinyl obscurities and gems, along with stereo equipment, pop culture related ephemera, and outdated media like plenty of VHS tapes. The people who run this place love what they do and are very kind and helpful. Protip: check the new arrival stack on the front counter for goodies before they get to the bins, there's treasure there and they don't mind you doing this.
Libby Roberts
The owner was frindly and helped us find what we were looking for. The records are in good shape and priced decently. We love going there and always leave with alot of records in hand!
John Kramer
I'm 44 yrs old. Been going to RE for many years, even when they were on South Hampton and also meramac street. I have been going to the new location, at the old library off Hampton for many years and I would not consider anywhere else for buying stereo equipment. Gene is one of the best vintage vinyl and electronics dealer that I have come across. He is willing to negotiate price and is a good man. It will be a loss the day he retires. Thank you for the many years of service.
CrikitRN
Love this place. I like to come here when I have hours to kill and just flip thru vinyl. I don't come with anything in mind so I don't get upset if I can't find a special record. But there are thousands upon thousands so I always find something that I love. They don't sell new items and that's fine for me. They also buy records. I've never got a defective record.
Rez Behnam
Can’t go wrong with this place. If you like vinyl, this is the place. Most records are priced well. A huge selection that’s decently organized. Plan on spending a couple of hours here. With the time
Christian Fierro
Support your local businesses by stopping in this awesome spot in Webster Groves. The staff is nice and knowledgeable. There is plenty of stock in old and new records. It's easy to find what your looking for or just browse around and find something new!
Sabina Okanovic
This place is awesome. So many records, movies, and stuff. Definitely going to need some time to look around here, so make time before coming here. Pricing varies depending on the quality and condition of what you're getting, and the staff is really fair about this! Making this the first place I go to dig around for some new records!
Chris Massie
This place is an amazing archive of recorded sound. If you're willing to dig through some unsorted boxes there is some lost treasure to be found for sure. Don't expect to find anything too new in here though. I went in looking for some 90s plunderphonic records and they didn't have anything of the sort.
Joey Powell
Great place to find record players speakers t.vs sound bars guitars drums CDs dvds
Missy Bridges
The employees are friendly and knowledgeable, and we seem to always find something new to us every time we go. After seeing the massive inventory it’s very fitting that the building used to be the library!
Gary Nickerson
There is a lot of merchandise!!! I didn't find anything this visit but maybe next time. I like the old album covers used as decoration throughout the store.
Beverlee Maschek
My husband found the 2 Beach Boys albums he was looking for. They got just about everything in there for 33's, 45's, CD'S, & Cassette tapes. They even have players to buy.
The De_Filer
Was awestruck with all the vinyl! There is also tons of cool memorabilia all over the place! The 45 room upstairs was also bad ass! Also tons of audio equipment. If your an audiophile then you need to come here!!
Lee Fischer
I got the COOLEST Christmas present there today! An Elvis Burning Love hanging ornament with Mario Gras themed decorations. And a roots ska CD. Thanks again, Gene. Keep rockin'.
Digi7al Trauma
Honestly, you could get lost in here... I came for a new turntable, got distracted by speakers, amps, receivers... and there is no way I have even part of the time needed to go through even an 8th of the vinyl in here. But I found a project carbon for a good price.
Cheers guys, we will be back again.
Biscuit Droppings
Good selection of records. Very strange pricing on movies, not likely to find anyone to pay $8 for a C-list movie
Kayleen Ramirez
The Record Exchange is amazing. Music, movies, games, equipment and paraphernalia. If you can't find it here Gene can probably find it or it doesn't exist.
Truman Walls
Awesome place, huge collection, a bit cluttered though.
You're not guaranteed to find every album you're looking for, but likely to find a few by whatever artist you're there to find.
Jim Mielke
Really cool place. I gave it four stars because it is difficult to find stuff, but that is part of the fun. They didn't have vinyl from any new bands.
Charles R. Sledge
Everything a audiophile could ever want, really! 😸 …
Tony Castelli
It's a fun spot. Can be a little hard to find what you're looking for, but if you're old enough to have gone to record shops before they went extinct, this place brings back good memories.
Ted Rawlings
Love this place. A bigger selection than you will have time to look at. Helpful staff when you ask. Anyone with a nostalgic bone in their body should check this place out, or really anyone who appreciates music period.
S. Michael
They have it all. I was shocked at how much. Music, CDs , tapes , 8 track , vinyl , DVDs. Everywhere. I found stuff I could only find on line. Good prices.. you need to see for yourself!!! You will be glad you did...

I used to go here all the time in high school. They have a lot of stuff, but not very organized (very cluttered) and on my recent visit the credit/debit card reader was not working so after digging through the records I could not even purchase the ones I wanted. Very disappointing...
Gene Schmiedeke
I’ve always enjoyed this place
Took my son there when he was younger
Now whenever he comes to town he goes there
Terry Baxter
Lots and lots of records. Unfortunately, you have to really look at the condition as price does not necessarily indicate playability. Many I wouldn't want to play for fear of damaging my stylus, much less my hearing!
Chris Just
A terrific place for an audiophile to hit but be warned you will have to dig for what you want! The place is a bit of a pack rats dream and I'm okay with it as the prices are low and they will stand behind what ever they sell you.
James Patrick
It is July 12th, Record store day. Thank you for the two dollar sale. I hope I didn’t get all of the good ones. Hope to see more sales in the future
danny strickland
If you're going to market a business as a record store, then you better have some records to sell. That's just business 101.
Travel Bug
Unbelievable collection of records. This place is a hidden jewel that you need to see to believe. It's NOT just recurs they have either, from cassettes to movies, vintage collectors items, vcr's, ...and much much more.
Michelle Hartmann
Dusted off the ole record player and needed some 45 supplies, of course they got it all. Staff helpful and courteous.
Chris Knapp
Best shop in town, hands down and fingers dusty...unless you know exactly what you want, plan on spending at least an hour digging through all the treasures!
Sean Polley
Vast selection of older records at great prices. If you're looking for newer releases though you'll have better luck at another shop.
Pat Mason
One reviewer on here apparently doesn't understand the nature of what a USED record store is. Record Exchange IS just that, USED and USED ONLY. So they don't stock the latest THIRTY SECONDS TO WIDESPREAD PANIC AT THE DISCO cd, so what... If you're looking for something like that, head over to FYE or the mall... If you're looking to dig in deep and find some classic VINYL that is off the grid, it is there at Record Exchange to be found.
Grant Salter
Definitely worth the visit. Holy S#&T there is a lot of stuff in this place. I spent an 1hr 45mins going through the records. The prices are very reasonable compared to many others. I will for sure go back when I'm in the Lou again.
Jason Leach
Be prepared to spend a lot of time in here if you're really into music or movies. This place is packed to the ceiling everything. There's a whole room of VHS tapes, another whole room of 45s.
Sam Stein
Lots and lots neat stuff there
Brian Guess

This places great if you don't mind digging for your finds. We always find something we love, or something unique but you really have to look because it is floro tl ceiling of stuff!
Michael Kimmel
If you're looking for hard to find CDs or vinyl, this is the place. If you've only got 30 minutes or so, you'll never make it. When i go in there, they've got so much music it takes me almost 30 minutes to decide where I'm going to start.
Wally Greer
Wonderful selection to buy, lousy place to sell your music.
It's moving soon, as it's overcrowded with stuff. I did get some store credit for my latest sale.
Rog V
This place is amazing!! it's an experience in itself!! If you're an audiophile or know anybody that is definitely recommend this place for records.
Tantrum Niche
Extremely dense with vinyl and components. Not always hard to find tempting records, though it can often be hard to walk around in when there's a few customers within.
Glenn Schultz
Tons of records, cds, and components. The owner Gene is cool and he has a great staff....only thing keeping them from 5 stars is the lack of air conditioning 🥵 …

The goto if you're selling anything to do with music they are very selective but where else are u gonna turn a box of 45s into a handful of grenbacks?
