Planet Score has been my favorite record shop in STL for a while now. The dudes that run the place are super friendly and knowledgeable. Their stock is nicely curated and they’re always happy to order something if needed. Also, they’ve got some of the fairest prices in town, and hands down the fairest trade offers if you’re looking to unload some records. STL has bigger shops, for sure, but this one’s my favorite.

6/5 stars. Amazing selection of records from any genre. If you're a metalhead, come here for the best selection of smaller artists in the greater St. Louis region! They pey very well for (good condition) used vinyl, CD, and cassette. And finally the owners and operators are so kind and fun to interact with! Easily my favorite record store in STL (Record Exchange is a close second, but for fully different reasons).

Planet Score Records was a quick walk from the Blue Duck. We could've spent hours browsing through their vinyl alone! My son wanted a particular Artic Monkeys album, so we were happy to find it. We'll definitely be back!

The person who I'm assuming was the owner based on his helpfulness and great personality was awesome and helped me find a few records I'd been looking for. I almost picked up Sky Valley for a substantial amount more elsewhere, but he had one left for a great price. The selection was great and the store seems to really stay on top of not only new releases, but also represses, which helps my wallet a ton. Thanks again for great conversation and some awesome scores!

I love this record store. Owners are nice and remember me every time. You never know what gems you are going to dig up here! Love that they do not seem to specialize in a single genre. You will find anything from classic blues to experimental edm to DIY punk. Planet score forever!

Rating is specific to used CDs. Found one rare used CD pressing here. Cool, very pleased. Used CD organization is great. However, hit or miss disc in case or behind counter detracts from serious browsing. And overstock used CDs in boxes all around leave too many questions unanswered.

Open, accessible and well organized. Makes for very pleasant browsing. Inventory seems to constantly turn over. I have to believe reasonable pricing helps move product. It's nice to be able to visit a used record shop, that has different records, with each visit. Like most shops in St Louis rock dominates the shelves, though I have on more than one occasion picked nice Jazz and Blues records. "New Arrival" bin is my first stop. The guys running the shop are always available to answer questions and usually are able to answer inventory questions, from memory.

The young man that helped me so much over the phone with the CD's that I wanted, & many times on the phone with directions, " I live over an hour away " Joe, Outstanding young gentlemen. So extremly helpful & kind. He is the type of man you don't find much anymore. An asset to the store. Give Joe a raise. Loved my experience at the store. Very cool place lots of rock like it should be . rock and metal sounds best on vinyl. I hate walking into a record store and just seeing allot of weird stuff and thinking who listens to this stuff on vinyl. This store had allot of cool album's. I will definitely be back. Only one complaint they need more kiss records but this place rocks.

First time to this store. Found lots of treasures that I haven't seen elsewhere. Bought half used and half new. So far the two used have been a couple of the quietest/silent used vinyl I've found in a long time , however: (consistently finding that the new pressings generally are noisier and the QC at pressing plants today is sorely lacking). One of the used vinyl today is the Dixie Dregs: What If. The other is Brand X: Unorthodox Behaviour. Picked up fifteen total records. Prices were very competitive and the store is big enough to easily spend a couple of hours browsing. Great find! Met the owners Tim and Joe. They were very nice and thankful for my business.

Large scale variety to choose from for vinyl and CD formats. Some I had never had the chance to see in person until I got here with my husband. We were from out of town so this little gem of a store was the perfect stop. Would return if ever in town again.

Great selection, cozy atmosphere, attentive staff! Perfect combo for a record store. Great selections across several medium. Tapes/vinyls/CDs, (think I saw an 8-track). Anyway, you get the idea. Check them out, buy something you thought you never would. Expand your mind, get out of your zone , try acid jazz. Always support local.

Leave with good records every time I visit, which is at least every couple of weeks. Great variety. Punk, metal, psych/prog, funk/soul, hip hop and more. I'm not keen on stores that focus on a genre or two. I collect a variety. That isnt a problem at Planet Score. Prices are comparable to discogs, etc.

Planet Score is a fantastic record store in Maplewood. They're a small professional & friendly two-man operation that seems to have something for everyone. Good used vinyl & new inventory that doesn't depend entirely on mainstream reissues & Pitchfork-approved titles. The atmosphere is usually way more relaxed than any of the other St. Louis-area record shops. Planet Score is a winner for me!

Of the three record stores I went to, only Planet Score actually took the time to go through all the records I brought in! The other two (who shall remain nameless) made me feel it was beneath them after a cursory glance. On top of them buying quite a few records, I had a great conversation with one of the owners (I am bad with names)! Definitely recommend for buying and selling...

Planet Score is one of St Louis' best vinyl and cd music destinations. Plenty of inventory and new items coming in daily. A wide range of genres are readily available at fair prices and there are several unique even unusual pressings that you can find here. The proprietors are friendly and professional and can help you find artists if you dont see them in the well organized stacks. They still have a great inventory of cds. I find unique metal bands among the cds on a regular basis. Hit the new arrivals first, then browse for your favorites.

TONS of records. I was actually looking for a turntable and relating equipment, which they do not sell. However the employee gave me many suggestions for places to check out for all that. I decided to browse for a few minutes and walked out with a record. Probably could have spent hours in there.

Located directly on Manchester this multimedia entertainment store is a fantastic addition to the small town feel of downtown Maplewood. Whether it's something that just dropped or is being re-released Planet Score regularly acquires all the 'must haves' because they get new shipments in daily. It is a great shop to stop through when shopping in the area. They make getting a gift for that hard to shop for person or snagging that rarity for your own collection simple as can be.

I wanted to review it on google to aim my review to those from other states, countries, and to locals who have never been to the shop. Planet Score Records is in my top 5 favorite record shops in the St. Louis area. They have a grassroots approach to selling vinyl, cds, cassettes and other media. The owners are highly knowledgeable about music, vinyl, and film. They have really boosted their availability for new, and used vinyl and cds. Prices are reasonable, and I always find good gems here. A plus about Planet Score is their resources for pricing, and special orders. Planet Score rules! Planet Score always reminds me of the Record shops I grew up going to in the 80's, and 90's.
