I reached out about a guitar they had I was looking at for a few weeks. The salesman wouldn't budge off MSRP, understandable, it was kind of a one-off LP with a special top. But, I was able to get the shipping upgraded. I don't like my high-end guitars going through multiple heat/cold cycles on it's way to me. Took a couple of calls to get the invoice over. Paid and it was shipped as promised. When it showed up, it was very well packed and even sealed around the case. Item was as described (which Gibbys can be hit or miss these days). It was obvious a setup wasn't done on the guitar as after I tuned it up, the action and intonation were way off. It was a typical Gibson factory setup. So, I did have to pay my local tech $100 for a setup, which is why I docked a star. I would do business with them again. Maybe they can send me some NYXL's for my trouble though?

What a great store! I can't say enough about how happy I am to have dealt with them. It is easy to look through the website and see some amazing guitars. I now have purchased two guitars from them. I just purchased a used Collings SJ acoustic. As promised, it was in mint condition. It arrived very well and safely packed just 3 days later. What a joy it is to play a Collings. Danny helped me understand the nuanced difference in the tone woods. This lead me to the "new to me" Collings acoustic. I got clear, straight explanations to every question I had before paying my money. I'll look to Eddie's Guitars if this GAS issue i have hangs around.

I ordered my gorgeous 2018 Gibson ES 335 Figured Aquamarine guitar from Eddie's Guitar by online. It was represented as in "Mint Condition" and I have to say they are spot on with their description! There is not a single scratch, mar or blemish on this beauty. It was shipped out quickly and delivered in perfect condition. I most definitely recommend this place for an awesome purchase.

Ordering such a high-dollar guitar without being in person was stressful at first, but Granville and the crew at Eddie's were awesome. I recently purchased my second high-end guitar from Eddie's Guitars, and the guitar was shipped out same day, was well packed, and arrived in flawless condition -- just like the last one that I purchased about 7 years ago. I'd love to be able to visit the store in person (I'm in Seattle area so not practical for me), but my first experience was sufficiently positive that I was willing take a chance on a more expensive instrument second time around and I'm exceedingly happy with the guitar (look, plays, sounds fantastic). The only nit is that the color of the guitar as photographed on the website was not a very accurate representation of as seen in person under typical lighting conditions. At certain angles and obtuse lighting angles it looks closer to the photos, but initial reaction was it is a different color than as shown, so something to be aware of, esp. if less common color on niche guitar that buyer might not already be familiar with in person. Again, minor nit, and had I seen the guitar in person before buying it wouldn't have changed my decision to purchase. I'm very happy with my decision to again trust Eddie's Guitars to deliver me a fine instrument that will give me years of enjoyment.

By what I can tell is that this is not your everyday run of the mill brick and mortar musical instrument store. High end instruments sell themselves, you don’t need a salesperson holding your hand and stroking your ego because you’re thinking about dropping a few grand on a guitar. I haven’t been to there physical store but have read the reviews and the negative ones don’t make much since to me. Just about every issue is something where the customer should of been more proactive in some way and then blames the store for the problem. They make it very clear that a appointment is going to be the best way to see the instrument you want to see and it doesn’t surprise me that they aren’t jumping up to help each and every person who walks in when they have such a large inventory and I’m sure customers ahead of those walking in that are receiving the service they need. All I’m trying to say is after buying a guitar I saw online and called in to place the order. I got the feeling that this place is straightforward professional and are only there to help facilitate the sale of a guitar that you, the customer, are after. These guys are more than capable of answering questions you have and I’m sure just as helpful when it comes to handling a concern or issue. If you want a beautiful quality instrument at or below retail market value and don’t want to be hounded or “sold” something you don’t necessarily need, this is your place. You will not find a better selection of higher end guitars, amps, effects and etc. than Eddie’s. I will be sure to make an appointment to check out there showroom and whatever it is I’m interested in at the time the next time I’m in that part of the country. Don’t let any of the negative reviews steer you in another direction. You could be missing out on your dream guitar if you do.

Within in the past few months I purchased two Suhr's from Eddie's. One is a classic antique and the other a Suhr modern Magenta. The level of service from Eddie's is astonishing! Doing business with their guitar rep, Granville (whom is very knowledgeable about the brand) has been overwhelming positive in my experience. All the pics are accurate. The serial number on the guitar you see in the photos will match the guitar you receive. They have unique custom builds for the shop so be sure to check that out first because they may have something already available. Like the Suhr Magenta, it is a mahogany body and mahogany neck. Talk about sustain! Something I would have picked for a custom build. They are honest and will take care of repeat customers. This level of service earns customers for life and I know this first hand. Thanks Eddie's!

I would recommend to anyone to buy your guitar from Eddie's. I am from out of state and was told by local Gibson dealers that they could not get the guitar I wanted. I then called Eddie's and dealt with Brett. Brett found me the guitar in 3 colors within a total of 15 minutes. Brett was very knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable purchasing a guitar out-of-state. He immediately responded to my questions and made the sale as smooth as possible. I had a great experience with Eddie's Guitars. I was able to order the exact guitar, with all the customization options I wanted. The storefront is a little intimidating, but this isn't Guitar Center. You don't just grab a $4000 guitar of the rack and start playing Smoke on the Water (do people still play that riff?). This is a place to get high-end, hand crafted guitars and custom orders. I was very pleased by the overall experience, and for the bass guitar I ordered, got a better price than off-the-shelf models that have been handled by hundreds of customers available elsewhere.

This wonderful shop is my first step and favorite place to shop on the region. They care! They protect their instruments and I am always assured that my purchase is going to be perfect. They wipe down every instrument after each trial. They even wipe them down after they handle them! This is a family business. I have been buying guitars from Eddie's since I was in middle school. I am a novice player, but an experience collector. The inventory is the best in the city. They have truly found a niche for eclectic and rare instruments and electronics. I now live in Chicago and drive down to St. Louis a few times per year just to visit the store and check out the stock. The website provide accurate descriptions and photos of the instruments. I have frequented other stores across the Midwest, and what I find are customers who do not respect the instruments. When I visit Eddie's, the staff pull the guitar down, ensure you aren't wearing anything that can scratch it, and allow you to jam away in a private room or comfortable couch. After playing, they wipe it clean and place it safely back in the case or on the wall. What does this mean to me...? When I purchase an instrument online, its in perfect, mint, brand-new condition, perhaps better than when it arrived at the store. I never have to re-inspect a new instrument out of fear that an irresponsible customer has been shredding on it. Additionally, purchasing from the internet has been made MUCH easier with Matt's videos. He is just as friendly in person as he appears on the YouTube Acoustic demos. I have equally positive experiences with Nathan and Brett. I never feel like I have to "negotiate" pricing - competitive pricing is automatically offered. I will be a lifelong customer.

As a professional player and avid gear junkie, I can honestly say Eddie's Guitars has the friendliest staff and best selection of the finest instruments and equipment. The words "good enough" simply don't echo off the showroom walls. Every guitar, amp, pedal or other piece of stock is hand picked to ensure the customer is getting the very best every time. Eddie's is a very misunderstood store. This is a boutique establishment that has standards for its equipment that are above and beyond average guitar shops. This is a necessary part of selling very high end equipment. If you don't understand that, you should stick to guitar center or one of the other chains. I don't mean any offense by that. It's the same as buying a Rolls Royce; you can't just walk up and start test driving everything on the lot without some oversight. Eddies provides excellent service, but it takes business seriously, and many of us in the market for gear of this caliber appreciate that. If you are in serious about buying some of the nicest gear available, this is your place. I've personally purchased two guitars there, and I will continue to be a customer. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, and the selection is top notch. Give it a chance.

Brett's pedal knowledge is second to none in St. Louis. I have bought many pedal's from Eddies and have always left satisfied. This is a high end guitar store. Their inventory is fantastic and prices fair. Do your research and call them. Matt is also one of the best guys in St. Louis when it comes to acoustic guitars. Had a great experience here. I was helping my friend's wife in Baltimore with a Christmas present. My friend wanted a Martin OOO-28EC and Eddie's just happened to have two of them. So I called and set up an appointment with Matt. When I arrived Matt had both guitars on stands so that I could play them in a private area. Eddie's Guitars from my understanding runs a different scheme and business model to stay financially afloat in 2019. They seem to do a lot of online sales with an emphasis on higher-end guitars. To understand Eddie's you must realize that many stores in the St. Louis area outside of Guitar Center (at least from my observations) simply aren't selling the guitars they need to in order to make a profit; ultimately the reason why their business model is different than what you may be accustomed to. I was in the market to buy a Stratocaster SSS styled guitar and for months I tried out different stores in and out of the area. Finally I decided to try out Eddie's Guitars. I set up and made multiple appointments there within a 3 week period and tried out close to 10 different guitars. Throughout this process I was mainly communicating with Brett and he didn't rush me at all with my slow and meticulous decisions. Finally I settled on a nice Suhr Stratocaster styled guitar since they are a Suhr dealer. The guitar was pricey but I am hoping this guitar will last me a very (very) long time.

This is definitely not your average guitar store. I have visited a few times and thought it was time to get the PRS custom 24 I always wanted. The in store experience was great. Conrad was very helpful and genuinely wanted me to be happy with my purchase. No push or hard sell whatsoever. Their inventory is for those who recongize a high end instrument purchase as an investment to last a long time (i.e., not for beginners). If you go in showing the respect a store and staff like this deserve, it will be returned to you tenfold. Any single staff person at Eddie's probably has more guitar / amp knowledge than the staff of 20 guitar centers combined.

I was in the market for a new guitar. Eddie's was the only place in St Louis that had a PRS DGT in stock. I decided to stop by. Brett set me up to try this axe out. We had a great conversation about the capabilities and versatility of the DGT as well as how that applies to various styles of music. Brett used to own this exact guitar and expressed his regret in selling it. I had done research on pricing on this guitar and Brett provided a no nonsense out the door price that was significantly less than any I could find, even with tax. This isn't your typical big box retail store(GC) mostly high end gear. My experience was fantastic, when I'm in the market for another guitar, I'll check Eddie's first.

Excellent customer service. Ive purchased 2 guitars in the last year from them and both times I walked in just as anyone else would. Curious and not particularly committed to spending any money. Still, despite being reluctant to buy, they were accommodating and totally non pressuring. The entire atmosphere was relaxing. They were more than helpful with my particular needs to make the purchase happen and they were patient and understanding when I had complications with the finances. Hell, they even opened the door after business hours and hung out behind the counter while my wife and I looked around. I can tell you I genuinely felt right at home with these guys. This is NOT a great place for beginners/intermediate players. The selection of gear they have is at the EXTREME end of the scale. (For example, they don’t have an effect pedal in the store less than 200$) if you play guitar as a profession this place might be worth going to, but if you are more of a beginner/hobbiest or just on a budget, Dave’s guitar loft isn’t too far away away and they have a better selection of low/mid range equipment.

I found Eddie's guitars on youtube. They do something that few shops do. they post videos with well crafted demonstrations of many of their high end and guitars. This gives consumers a chance to hear what Froggy bottom guitars actually sound like and others like Huss & Dalton, Bourgeois. Goodall, Collings and Martin custom shop guitars. I was interested in a Martin and when it was finally time to buy I decided to get a quote from several dealers. I included Eddies' guitars because they had what I wanted in stock and I dug their videos. Well it turns out that Eddies' was the first shop to return my email, they quoted me the best price right away and they were available to answer all my questions. I could not be happier with my purchase and would be happy to do business with them again. Matt and Nathan were great to work with and had my guitar shipped super fast. Thanks!

After buying both and talking to Matt the acoustic manager, I couldn't leave without one of their collings! So I was a little nervous (as silly as that sounds) about visiting Eddie's. I've played for many years on an old Yamaha FG-750S from the 80s, but I don't consider myself very good, and I'm a newbie when it comes to equipment and buying guitars. I thought to myself, "Man, I'm just not the right kind of customer for a shop like that.". My wife convinced me I was a fool for thinking that way, so I gave them a call to set up an appointment to play some of their acoustics. While it may seem odd to have to make an appointment, it makes complete sense when you see the shop and the inventory. It's not set up for a casual browse. Nor should it be, considering the inventory. I went in with a couple of ideas based on what I played at GC, and a somewhat loose price range. Matt helped me out. I gave him a quick rundown of where I was at in the decision making process and asked him to give me some options. He presented me with several options, answered my questions, and made me feel comfortable and respected. Nevertheless, my hands were still shaking from nerves. I'm a head case. Anyway, I pulled the trigger, and now, after 24 years, I have a new, much, much nicer guitar. If you're in the market for a higher end guitar, don't hesitate to give them a call. No matter how "noob" you are.

Bought a big, new, custom omg, sight unseen, in early June. Along the way, I kept watching Matt present his new, custom 00028 with the torrified upgrades and the short scale. When the omg arrived it was gorgeous indeed but uncomfortable to play. Matt understood the issue and we arranged a deal for a trade/upgrade and I now own the custom 00028. Can't thank Matt enough and will only deal with him in the future. He hasn't figured this out yet but he has made s friend for life. JM
