Bought my Fender US deluxStrat here.
Top quality guitars, Mid-high end mostly.
Many models of Gibson and Fender.
Kind staff.

Great collection of vintage as well as new equipment. Will be putting some sound equipment on consignment. Friendly and informative staff. Nice displays of basses and guitars. Store has expanded so you can walk around without bumping into anyone or anything. Recommend

Frank, Jeff, Greg, and team are incredibly knowledgeable while also being super welcoming and helpful. None of that proving yourself for knowing a certain someone or playing in a certain band to feel welcome here - there is a joy of the instruments that emanates from everyone working at Thunder Road and they welcome you right into it. Great attention to detail and such a fantastically curated selection. They're the kind of shop that makes you just want to swing on through on a rainy day to say hey, grab a few packs of strings, and see what's new.

To be in business in a location, in a brick-and-mortar space for 10 years is quite an accomplishment. You have to care about what you're doing, care about the community and provide excellent service and product. All of which are some of the reasons you should visit Thunder Road Guitars. Frank and the crew have been in the business for years now and really know their gear, understand trends and utilize there gifts of finding treasures to bring excellent gear: to the beginner, the pro and the bedroom player. There's always a fresh rotation of excellent acoustic guitars, electric guitars and amps. I cannot recommend this place enough- especially if you want to find that dragon you're always chasing (it's probably at TRG). :)

An excellent place to find fine guitars and basses. The sales staff is very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. It's the best place for the serious musician to find top quality instruments in the PNW. The guitar I bought was tip top and very well set up.

I came in for a Warwick bass and a tune up for my old Peavey Grind 4 string. Jeff was honest and put me on the right track with his experience. He really polished and fixed up my old Peavey; took him only a day. Jeff set me up with a great bass package including a light but loud Fender amp, strap, and Ernie Ball Stingray. Had no idea Fender bass amps could sound so great. Even though they were waiting for the New Warwick to arrive, I ended up getting Ernie Ball Stingray instead after playing the Warwick. Wow what a guitar! Free first technical check up for the new guitar too!

Great shop! Nice employees and a great selection of gear. They give great value on trade-ins too. Will be back next time I’m in Seattle.

Have purchased guitars from the Portland and Seattle stores and both are awesome! Great selection, no pressure, friendly staff. Purchased a Fender Telecaster online from the Seattle store on Tuesday, got an e-mail from Frank within about 5 minutes which included the tracking # and a nice "Thank You". Received the guitar the next afternoon packed perfectly and as described. That is service. A+++++ !

Bought a gorgeous 2009 AVRI ‘62 Jazzmaster from Frank today (on my birthday) and it was such a pleasant shopping experience. I even did it over the phone nearly 3,000 miles away! Thank you Thunder Road. 🙌🏼 …

Cool people, amazing guitars and pretty good prices. Don't buy my favorite from their shop of mine I need to save just a bit more!!

Have been following Thunder Road Guitars on Instagram and when I went out to Portland, I stopped by the shop. Matt (I believe) was extremely nice and knowledgeable about the guitars I played. Still dreaming about the '49 Gibson acoustic. Great shop, would definitely recommend checking out.

Very friendly and helpful staff and a great selection of high-quality gear skip the big box store and check these guys out

I bought my Gibson explorer E2 and everything was as described, talked to Frank and his stuff, very good customer service, so they delivered through UPS as fast as it was possible, I'm very happy, thanks to TRG and Frank. 5 stars, thumbs up!

I was bored one night searching the internet and stumbled upon a 1993 Fender Strat AV 57' Reissue. Upon reading the description my jaw hit the floor when I read that the neck was stamped with my birthday AND year. I called the shop the next morning and they were kind enough to take the neck off the guitar to send a pic to confirm the date. I purchased the guitar immediately, they shipped it out the next day and it arrived on my door step a few days later, safe and sound. I always enjoy shopping local, but in this case the power of the internet connected me with a family owned business 2,300 miles away whom happened to have my holy grail birthday guitar. I hope one day my travels bring me to Seattle to thank Frank in person for listing this beautiful Strat online.

The service in this store was wonderful 😊 very down to earth. Great prices as well... you can’t find the deals online though 😕 but understandable. So make sure you stop and look inside‼️The guys took care of us and acted as if we knew them from years ago ...Now that’s my kind of service. Thanks gentlemen we will be back 👌 …
Christopher Louck
I bought a vintage Orange amp from them. They had it ready for me to pick up when I arrived. Not the biggest store, but they have a lot of great stuff.

Second guitar I have ordered on-line from the Seattle Thunder Roads shop. These guys rock as do the guys at the Portland store! Ordered the guitar yesterday about 10:30, it was at my door today by noon! Thanks again for the great service Frank (and Will at the Portland store)!

Great place to get amazing vintage and new guitars. Staff is amazing, letting you try out the guitar at your pace and setting you up. They are very helpful in showing you the features of a guitar, and have a hold option so that you can put a guitar out of the way and have it on hold for 30 days if you need more money or just can't pick it up right away. Bought a 2010 Hagstrom Swede Tremar in white from them and it had some 3 way selector switch problems, I contacted them on Instagram and the staff contacted me back almost right away and said to just bring it in and they would check out the problem. Even if you are not currently buying a guitar but just want to come in and play some guitars or check out some cool guitars, you can do that. I will definitely be coming back for more guitars eventually.

Absolutely the greatest guitar shop on the face of this Earth, after my Dad's passing no one in the family paid any instruments and they sent in the basement for years. A gentleman I went to high school with recommended coming here to help me figure out what to do after a few emails and photos back and forth I made the trip over. The gentleman that helped me did nothing but educate me on what I had what was going on and what is the most polite individual ever in a situation they truly care about what they do they're not just people doing a job for people with a passion and they are here to help people and educate them and I feel as though they're done just that for me again the greatest guitar shop on the planet thank you guys very much

Excellent shop, great gear, and fair prices.
The staff is so friendly and they go out of their way to ensure your happiness.
I've been shopping there with some regularity for the past year, and ill continue to buy guitar equipment from them as long as i live in seattle.

The best service- just got my old Martin guitar set up- and it plays like new- so worth the 70 bucks.
If I could tip I would. I totally put my trust in this small guitar shop! Please consider them for any of your guitar needs!
Totally 100% worth it
It’s nice to experience true professionals in their craft!

I recently purchased a Martin 000-18 Adirondack spruce from Thunder Road and couldn’t be happier! Friendly informative staff who took time to answer all my questions. The guitar was expertly set up and packed for shipping. I would gladly do business with them again. Great shop!

I had been looking for a gold top Les Paul 60s tribute and found one on Thunder Roads site. I've never bought an instrument over the internet having not played it. Even worse, I am on the East coast and they are in the West coast so I can't just drop in if there is an issue.
If you share these same reservations, rest easy. I spoke to the staff and they relieved my concerns. I opened the guitar on Christmas and it was exactly in the condition expected, super well packed and protected. I explained how I wanted it set up and it was absolutely perfect.
Really good guys, flexible and instrument was priced right at market.
Great buying experience. Would purchase again and recommend them without hesitation.

I have picked up a fender strat and a vox amp from these guys. I also made a huge mistake and didn’t get my new fender jazz master from the shop and I ordered directly from fender (never do this btw).
I brought in my axes for a set up and found out that the new guitar from fender is a lemon. If the shop doesn’t have what you are looking for they can order one for you. Best shop great crew. 5star service.

Best guitar/amp store I've ever worked with - - and I've been to them all! Frank (the owner) is trusted, a wealth of knowledge and a great guy. Great staff with the highest level of customer service.
David W
I took my Friedman amp to get worked on there and not only did it come back faster than they said it would.... It sounded better than it ever has. I couldn't stop playing my guitar. It just sounded so good!
Charles Saunders
I recently purchased a 1959 ES-335 reissue which was described as in near perfect condition. I had been searching for this guitar – at a reasonable price and in this condition – for more than a year. Not only was the depiction accurate, the price was more than competitive and, to make the transaction even better, the staff were extremely helpful and professional. Shipping of the instrument was extremely well done and expert. A great experience!

Excellent guitar dealer! I got a 1984 Les Paul shipped to Germany in 2019, everything was exactly as described and pictured. I would definitely buy there again!

Got my guitar restrung for a very reasonable price, and they put a plastic bag over my guitar so I could walk it home in the rain.
Michael Fiorillo
I just purchased an amazing 1995 Epiphone Regent jazz box from Thunder Road and cannot recommend them highly enough. On-line purchasing of instruments can be a bit unnerving but the folks at Thunder Road made it easy. They answered all my questions quickly, shipped the instrument out right away, offered it at a great price, and the guitar was in superb condition. They clearly care about getting vintage instruments into the hands of musicians.
Christopher Krona
This is a really cool store. Wide variety of vintage guitars. They provide consignment and also take used guitar trade ins. The store is clean and the employees are helpful, albeit not very chatty. I am giving it four stars due to the high prices.
Geordie Grey
The staff is great, both knowledgeable and approachable. Their guitar techs are first-rate. And their inventory of used instruments and amplifiers is fantastic! A great mix of instruments and price ranges.
Rasmus Rasmussen
I took my very first partscaster project to them for its final setup, and they did a stellar job making it play like a dream. Their selection of vintage guitars is wonderful, and I am stoked to have this store in my neighborhood.
Alan Lenny
Great selection of gear and friendly, helpful staff. They took their time to help me select my guitar and extras and gave me a fair price on my trade-ins.
