Reviews of Lasley Violins

I took my new (old) Violins to Duane after my teacher recommended him. He appraised them and give me some recommended actions. He fixed up my violin and got it looking beautiful again! Plays fabulously too. Clearly excelent at his craft, and the customer service was amazing! Duane is a great conversationalist, and went above and beyond. My Fiedler and I thank you!!!

Duane Lasley is one of the nicest, most trustworthy individuals in the luthier scene. I’m always happy to trust him for purchases, rentals, bow rehairs, instrument repair, recommendations, and anything else violin-related!
I also send all of my students to him for rental instruments, as his rates are unmatched for the quality of the instruments he provides.
Always a pleasure doing business with Lasley Violins.

I had a wonderful experience shopping for bows here! There were many options and I was absolutely not pressured to buy. They even offered to let me try a couple for a week before deciding which one I wanted. Very informative and personable, definitely recommend.

Located in the same shop used formerly by David Stone much of the past environment remains with great skill, strong service, and reasonable prices. I'd highly recommend people to go see this location for their string instrument needs.

After visiting the shop, not surprised by the abundance of 5 star ratings. Friendly and helpful, convenient location.

I just began adult violin lessons after decades of not playing and Duane was patient and knowledgeable as he answered all of my questions. He reassured me with his kind demeanor, and so my anxiety over purchasing a violin has been put to rest.

Nice owner I showed up close to closing time and he was very understanding. Got my strings changed and now rehaired.

I had an awesome experience taking my violin to Duane. I played violin for 10 years when I was younger, and after a few years of neglect I have started playing again and I took it in just to get it checked out because it had been a good number of years since any Lutheir had looked at it. Duane immediately identified an important repair that needed to happen (that I had not noticed) as well as some other adjustments that would improve the resonance of my instrument. He also guided me towards the least expensive and least invasive options for making the repair, which saved me a ton of money. I was honestly so surprised at how reasonable the cost was for all the work he did. The end result was beautiful and I am really happy with it! Duane was also really friendly and educational every step of the way, and me lent me a really nice violin to play while he was working on mine. I highly recommend Lasley Violins!

Duane Lasley is an Angel of a man. I took my old violin in to get restrung and ended up walking out with a new (to me) antique violin. He was so patient with my 3yo daughter who clearly wasn’t having fun waiting for me. He did wonders to my cheap old violin, restrung it and went above and beyond to adjust it to sound warmer to my liking. Duane is not only an incredible violin maker and repairman, but a kind old soul who matched me to my instrument taking the time and care to make my musical dreams come true. I was blown away by his professionalism and kindness. 10/10 would recommend him for your violin needs. I spent all my money that day and walked out so much richer than when I walked in.

I brought my violin in to get my bow rehaired and sound post fixed. They returned my violin in a much better condition than I've left it. You can tell they truly really care about their craft and would highly recommend their service.

You can't beat Mr. Lasley for kindness, trustworthiness and honesty. He is so knowledgeable, and clearly loves his work. He knows every violin in his store and is forthright and fair. My husband needed a new violin and bow and Mr. Lasley had a great selection in our price range and explained the industry well to us. While we ended up going with a violin not at Mr. Lasley's store, we still felt we needed to review his shop and recommend him because our experience with him was so positive. We would certainly make this one of our first stops for any future needs.

I love this place. It feels like home with all the instruments lining the walls. Excellent service, extremely knowledgeable, and he'll steer you straight if you're unsure about something. What I like about his work: he'll try the least invasive option first. He's been helping me make a very quirky instrument more playable, one step at a time. Yes, it takes longer, but the result is better.

The patience this man has is almost unnatural!! When I went back to buy my second violin from him, I brought my teacher and I think we were there for three hours or so. He'd bring five in and then five more and five more. I think he focused everything on my search. Recommended with absolutely NO reservations.

Outstanding service. The owner made me feel comfortable right away, answered all my questions, and clearly loves working with people, music, and instruments.
The shop is upstairs from the Market Arms restaurant, and the door is off to the right of the restaurant. The store could use some fancier signage but you won't get lost once you see the door.

Duane has an expert touch with stringed instruments, and gives good advice for accessories and adjustments. I trust him completely with my violins and viola!

Dwayne took the violin that's been in my family for 4 generations and gave it a great voice again. Great guy, great work, fair price and every time I go in I learn something new.

I would not let anyone else but Duane work on one of my instruments. My previous one star review was made purly by accident, and without my knowing that I had done it. I hate my phone.
Dan Ventura
Very friendly, honest, and professional. Even though I was unfamiliar with the instrument I brought in, I didn't feel talked down to or taken advantage of.
Clara Burger
I brought a cello in for repair and had a great experience here.
