Reviews of Fat Cat Records
One of the best record shops I've been to in a while! So much range for a little store, I loved it! I found an old record that I've been looking for in shops for ages. They also sell CD's! Lovely staff, lovely vibes, very nice. Five stars 🌟 …
fat cat records is a slightly small record store and often only has one or two employees working at a time and yet it's some of the best service in the city! you'll find records, cds, and cassettes at incredibly manageable prices, not to mention the fact that this place has some of the best cataloguing i have ever seen. the staff are extremely friendly, and you'll be sure to find something you'd like here! do not be afraid to talk to staff about anything at all - you will not regret it slightly! in terms of seattle record stores, i predict a strong future for this place!
I guess they may have the most reasonable prices for their vinyls and CDs I have been around Seattle area. Hard to believe they just opened 8 months ago since they have got all these old stuff. They have got tons of collection of vinyls and hundreds of CDs. Not like other record stores, they don't rise the price for classic masterpieces records. You can even ask the staff to play the old used record for you. This place is so amazing.
Loved the selection and even picked up a new release from my favorite band that I had no idea even existed! Prices on used records were competitive and fair/reasonable for the new one I bought. Both of my previously owned purchases played and sounded great and had no visible or audible scratches. Great record shop all around and staff was friendly and helpful!
Upon visiting Seattle after 20 yrs, Fat Cat is the small fresh record shop Sea-Town was known for. Right off i knew that things are priced to move with anything around $7 being a safe bet and found if it's above $12 then you can't go wrong which is nice when your digging into new sounds. The young man at the counter was knowledgeable enough to steer me in the right direction to some new Latin sounds I did not know about. A must visit if you want to find what you're looking for at that same 'ol price.
One of the best record shops I’ve been to. There were so many great albums for an absolutely amazing price.
When I sold my record collection (70s- 80s rock) to these folks they did a thorough inspection of my albums, and offereded me a very competitive price for the whole lot. I felt appreciated and informed the whole time. They know what they are talking about and valued things appropriately and honestly. Two thumbs up!
A perfect place is find retro records at a superb bargain! Btw, they closes at 6pm on sundays instead of 5pm on Google maps.
The best shop I could find to buy some albums after my visit to the music Capital of the 90s. Thanks to the kind and genuine manager!
Love these guys, we talked about music, not about their collection. Lots of suggestions regardless of any sales tactic. Lots of ' wish we had it ', and I wish you did too, because I'd like to buy all my used vinyl here.
Great selection!! Very low prices on stuff that is in excellent well kept condition. Friendly staff/ownership. Us music lovers have to support these places so they don't go out of business. Streaming music or downloading 1 song online is cool... but it's even cooler to buy a hard copy of your favorite music whether it's CD or vinyl, etc. Check them out, and you'll probably find something you really want for a super affordable price 👍🏻👍🏻
This place is just GREAT! It's pretty new (~1 month old), the staff is great and personable and the prices are right on. For now, it's mostly used vinyl of all genres, but they do have some CDs and cassettes. There's a lot of inventory that's not up right now because it's still being checked and priced. I can't wait til the shelves are full!
Definitely will be back!!!! :)
Absolutely lovely store. I'm a complete beginner to vinyl and staff was very helpful and welcoming. Had a great experience and will surely return!
I still buy CDs, and they have some, lol, so that's a win for me. They have decent turnover and lots of great stuff in the $.99 section, and good CD prices in general. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. If you're a record hound, it's probably even better.
This is a great record store, with a nice variety of music. The staff seem both knowledgeable and honest, they'll tell you if they aren't familiar with something. Everything seems to be priced fairly for rarity and condition. I'd keep this place in your rotation of North Seattle record stores to bring your business to.
great place, decent prices, REAL friendly professional staff. scored some great jazz and 60's psych rock albums, one of my favorite places in Seattle to buy vinyl. Went there on RSD 2018 day.
Stopped in to check out the spot based on a recommendation.
Truly a gem here. Pulled a nice stack out and each was VG+ or better and excellent prices to pair.
Spoke with the owner a bit, very friendly and informative. Definitely going to take more time here to browse.
Encyclopedic knowledge of all things record related. Love everything about this place (even the cheap record bin outside was full of classics). Worth a trip from almost anywhere. Very, very friendly and a good sense of humor.
Hi Jimmy!!
I had a great experience with Frank and Braxton the owners of the shop. They pay a very fair price for the records I brought it and it's just a generally fun environment to talk music with some true enthusiast. I highly recommend stopping in if you have some old records you are sitting on and could use the cash.
Went in opening weekend with my dad and another one of his friends from the music industry. Even with the selective supply, we were all very impressed and walked out with multiple records to add on to our already massive collections. I'm excited to see more of a great selection at their great prices!
This place is awesome, really cool vibes and great selection. Was able to take some pretty obscure records that i had no interest in and trade them in to get store credit. I would make this the first place to take your records in for trade. The dollar bins have good things such as Pat Methany, Nat King Cole, Martin Denny, Pete Seeger, etc.
Between CVS & the Irish bar- an extra six paces gets you to Fat Cat Records, but that you don’t need to be to shop here- this is a neighborhood used music shop, vinyl/cds et al- operating for the community- no ‘goldmine + 20’ 👍👍 …
Super friendly staff! They asked me what I was looking for and played some record suggestions for local bands for me while I browsed. Thanks for making a young femme feel welcome in the hip music store :)
An amazing selection of vinyl. CDs and cassette tapes. New and used records it's a really cool place the manager and staff are very knowledgeable I will return it's a fun place to have a memory flashback!
Opened in February '18 and off to a good start. Great location with FREE parking in back! A bit limited in selection right now, but they have some quality LP's worth checking out. Owners are friendly & helpful, so no reason not to support these guys.
My favorite shop in Seattle by far. The owners put in the effort to bring cool/rare stuff into their shop. Great prices as well. Support this place ya worms!
Fat Cat and Jive Time are the two best record stores in Seattle! Cheap used vinyl in excellent condition! They don't over charge like some of the lame stores in Seattle! Used vinyl shouldn't be more than 3 to 5 bucks and that's what you get at Fat Cat!
Looking for records? This is a great place to find them ranging in price from 25 cents to several hundred dollars, they have an awesome collection from vintage to newly pressed vinyl from local artists!
I wandered in here after many years of wandering by. They have a really great selection for crate diggers and used items, to include hi-fi equipment. I need to go back with a thicker stack of bills.
Awesome Wallingford area record shop with an excellent selection of new and used vinyl. Very friendly staff.
Friendly shop with mostly used vintage records, they have a selection of CD's as well. Definitely have some good finds and fair pricing
Great store super friendly staff & lots of used records & used cd choices
They saved me a beautiful copy of Autobahn by Kraftwerk. Great condition, awesome people & a very reasonable price. Shop here!!!
Good place, selection, and prices. Haven't tried to sell or trade anything, but I will. Nice guys.
Good selection for just opening. Actually has a decent amount of electronic music and hip hop which is refreshing. Looking forward to checking them out again.
Nice selection of new and old records, staff are cool and fun to talk to.
