Spent 2 hours trying out some acoustics and the selection is impressive. An employee named Darby was super helpful, patient, and knowledgeable and the rest of the staff was friendly too. Guitar Center may be a bit looked down on because it's a chain, but it's easy to see why they're so successful.

Great people!! Great store!! I was looking for a beginner's Bass and Warren helped me select a new Bass, amp and all the accessories. He was very patient and showed me several basses and made recommendations. I purchases a Fender Squire P Bass and Fender amp. Being a beginner I didn't know much about Basses and they could have easily sold me equipment that I didn't need. Instead they offered advice and sold me only the items that I needed. I would recommend this store and I want to thank Warren for all his help. I am having fun learning to play bass.

I have been a loyal customer of guitar center for my entire life and over the years have noticed the customer service and overall sales practice take a major nosedive. After receiving help from Alan my faith has been almost fully restored... (GC needs to hire more people like him first). He was attentive and eager to help resolve an issue I had and did so in a professional manner I have not seen in any of their other staff over the years. GC should be grateful to have him on the roster and take care of him. Remember; customers come and go...they are fairly easy to get...its the EMPLOYEES that make all the difference in the world...and are very, very hard to find.

I previously posted a very negative review due to the cancelation of my confirmed order. Originally, I was told the item had been previously sold. Since that happened, and I posted the review, I have heard from Guitar Center corporately and the Warwick store manager. The store manager has done a fine job of remedying the situation for me and caused me to want to increase my star rating from one to four. I would give 4.5 if I could. I am very pleased with their responsiveness. I cannot give a five star because I think the company, not the store, needs to make sure the sales system knows when something is sold, whether online or in the store, and quickly sync that so this sort of confusion is not likely to happen. Thanks!

Just moved to Warwick and Went into Guitar Center to browse. Noticed nice Mapex drum kit in back of store. Been awhile since I played so I decided to play. Must say it was such a blast and sales didn’t seem to mind. All I can say is Thank you. When I get settled in, I’m coming back and will do some shopping this time. I shopped there for many years as I owned a Recording studio for 18 years in Warwick right near the store. Always fair and as I was there till close to closing time as I was making purchase they were no pressure.. I felt more pressure on myself as I know what it is like to close at the eod in business. Pruett in the Drum department super friendly and easy going. Anyway they are the ones to go to. Unless you know exactly what you want and order direct, go and ask questions. Peace

New Review: I went back to Guitar Center, and met Colin. He was professional, knowledgeable, and non-intrusive. Quite a contrast from my initial visit. What a difference a single employee can make. Thus, I added 3 stars. Thanks Colin. Original review: Guitar Center advertised they were open for in-store shopping as of June 1, 2020 (i.e., during Corona). I drove to the store eager to buy my first guitar. Before entering the store, I was approached by a staff member--who by all appearances was acting as a bouncer. He enquired, "Whattaya here for?" I replied, "A guitar." He belted out, "We're not selling guitars; there's a pandamic ya know." He was not merely unhelpful, but down right rude. For a guitar store to be open for indoor shopping, but unwilling to sell guitars does not only defy common sense, but also is quite deceptive. Certainly not my first choice. Conversely Robert's Music at 687 Quaker Lane was actually open for business. The staff at Robert's was both welcoming and knowledgeable. More to the point they were professional. Also concerned about the virus, the staff at Robert's sanitized each guitar after being handled.

Person who was helping my son pick out some instruments and gear left us and said he would be right back, but never came back. We ended up getting help from ANOTHER CUSTOMER, and saw the salesperson that was helping us PLAYING DRUMS. I was spending $800....not happy! Luckily, the other salesperson we found later was much more helpful. Otherwise, would have been 1 star.

Only reason for the 4 stars is giving honor to a music store not the name Guitar Center. Been going to this location for years. Of course the jack up prices on there used gear, some guitars might not be treated the best, the staff has never really been too pleasant. Just today I went in after a year and a half of not going due to pandemic. I was greeted by a nice gentleman on my left behind the counter and asked if we wanted to play anything. The staff was friendly but there’s no product! Very few guitars on the shelf. I can remember going and seeing row after row. Very limited on everything so keep that in mind when going in. I would say just check the website and see if they have what you want in stock first. Just disappointed in the selection.

Got a great guitar at a great price there yesterday. It didn't come with a case but the salesman had an old used case in the back (which was actually quite nice) and threw that in for free. The salesman was a pleasure to work with. I would definitely recommend this store for people looking to buy a guitar.

Friendly, helpful staff. There always seems to be someone around who knows each different instrument well. The technicians are amazing and will make sure to inform you of alternatives, pricing, and timelines for your job. I feel very comfortable leaving my guitars and drums in their hands! The sales staff is welcoming and knowledgeable. They’ll help you order whatever isn’t in stock from their site, and can recommend products based on their own experiences—I needed a travel-size amplifier for my bass, and three different associates recommended a product for guitars that I wouldn’t have considered (as it’s for guitars, I’d assume that it isn’t optimized for bass), but it works extremely well, has multiple effects, and options for battery-power or a wall charger. Extremely happy with this store!

I stop by at least twice a month to buy new equipment for my drum set and the drum tech is always very helpful. even when he isn't there the rest of the crew goes out of their way to try and help out. manager is also really nice whenever she's needed, overall, this is by far my music store of choice

It always feels like the Walmart of music stores. The staff never seems entirely helpful but not to say they're bad at their jobs. The selection of instruments is admirable with a variety for most budgets. Of note is the availability of equipment for home recording. This is appreciated.

I went to this Warwick, R.I. location the other day and I was quite impressed with the amount of guitars they had hanging on the wall. I had been to another G.C. location recently and felt like I was in a store on its way out. Not alot of stock, at all. I would recommend G.C. for all your musical needs. If you cannot find something in store, check their website.

It was time for me to let my bass guitar go because I was neglecting it. I brought it to a few pawn shops and wasn't happy with the offers, but was referred here by a nice guy in Providence. He was right! I got a fair offer and I know my bass will end up in the hands of someone who will treat it right and give it the attention it deserves. Great place just to browse and jam on any instrument they sell if I'm not mistaken. I play all the different drummers and if you need tech help your all set. Bought all my gear used and new from Guitar center and even sold back some stuff I didn't need. They don't pay as much as you would like, but they have to stock it, refurbished it.. then let bit taken up shelf space, so don't expect to much, but it takes the edge off the new stuff VB you just bought. Love this place.

What can I say? They are the best place to go for instruments, guitar lessons, parts, upgrades, accessories, speakers 9 DJ equipment, lighting and more. They do repairs and tuning. They have great service and knowledgeable sales associates. You can go and sit there and test out drums, guitars, keyboards, amps and more without anyone breathing down your neck. In fact they have an area in the back that's sound proof for those that wish to play or listen at a little bit higher volume level without disturbing other costumers. Oh and did I forget to mention they have great prices too!!!!

Went in looking some specific cables and was not sure of the exact terminology or names of the connectors. Was helped by a member of staff who quickly identified exactly what I needed. Got home, plugged everything in and have the audio mixer experience I was looking to achieve. Will be back for all my future cable needs !

No offense to their other stores but this guitar center is my favorite. I traded in two amps and got more than I expected for them. I bought another amp and had an issue and brought it back and exchanged it. Very easy. All the guys in there are so nice and easy to deal with. If I bought from a place online it would've been a nightmare. Very thankful to have this place near by.

Guitar center is basically the most amazing place to go and jam and try different instruments and see what they sound like. As long as it looks like you have some idea what you're doing nobody will bother you and most of the staff actually play instruments and can actually give useful advice which is not common in retail as you know. Plus their prices on used stuff is usually pretty close to Craigslist used prices.

Tried to "upsell" us a bit too much. Setvice was good, but since this was my daughter's first guitar I had hoped they'd offer a more low/mid range sale. My daughter bought the higher price one with her own money. When she decided it was a mistake the return process was very easy

If your just in for strings or sticks or some other small thing the wait can sometimes be too long to get someone to the counter. If your in there for a bigger purchase they pretty much leave you alone to check things out for yourself. When it comes time to actually make that purchase a couple of sales people can be very helpful but a couple others are less than useless. You'll know within a minute. Looking for a 12 string? You're out of luck. Used gear selection changes all the time. Just have to see. A few things you would assume they would stock..they don't. If you're looking for anything in live sound...go somewhere else. I went looking for a p.a. and the guy acted like I was bothering him. You're job is sales right? See ya.

The problem with guitar center is it's the guitar box store. They have displays that are plan o grams. Carry certain guitars while on line you can buy custom shop guitars. The best thing to do is go to the used stuff. Otherwise Ita the Same old, same old. Most guitar players with years of experience no more than the young turkeys who work there. I'd rather buy from local mom and pops but they are far and few in between. Funny though, four of my guitars are from guitar center?
