The nostalgia of this store sets the soul right. If you consider yourself a serious music consumer you will not be disappointed. They have it all. With the occasional in store performances that do not disappoint, to the vast collection of vinyl, CDs, posters and memorabilia. Even their merch is on point. I cannot express how much I love this spot.

Love this place! If you are ever considering going to a Record Store day this is the the store you need to be at. The wait will be long but they always have a good amount of stock and are always so organized and efficient. Well worth it. Customer service is top notch and a great experience 😃 …
Starballs 3000
this store opened in 1969 and it was filled with old cds that have been hard to find elsewhere. multiple rooms full of old and new cds, vinyl, and dvds. i was pleasantly surprised by the low prices. i will be sure to swing by again next time i’m in portland.

Super duper. Grabbed a Silver Jews album I've been looking for high and low and in-between! Thank you!

Best music store around !! So much good stuff
Michael Hardin
Excellent Independent Record Store. One of my favorites. They have an amazing selection of new and used music in all formats, always find gems whenever I am there!
sheila heagerty
My favorite record store in Portland! Large selection of new and used vinyl and CDs. They also have fun music related games, stickers and posters available for sale.
Luca Lajeunesse
You guys...
This lovely man with a cute mustache and many tattoos helped me check out today and I am in love. Go to music millennium to see this beautiful man. Sir if you see this, thank you for your service.

This store literally has every kind of music you can think of and a humongous variety of artists to choose from. The atmosphere was insanely awesome with all of the different types of art on the walls/building. They had every cd that we've been continuously looking for, it's all very well organized with a decent sized staff. The parking lot is TINY, but don't let that scare you off from going into this gold mine of a store! It's most definitely worth the trip, I highly recommend!
Grace Song
One of the best records stores in Portland. A great selections of every genre. They carry vinyls, cd's, and even tapes! Very easy to navigate and the staffs are super friendly and will answer any questions that you might have.
Jacob Parker
This place is amazing.
On top of it being a Museum it's wide selection of movies make this place a fun and interesting spot to come too.
The movie relics are beyond awesome.
Even if you aren't from Oregon this place is a must visit if you love cinema.
Vivyan Wagner
Cool place. Many, many vintage LOs to choose from. Friendly atmosphere. Several different levels so watch your step.
Dillon McDonald
Awesome place. They got CDs and Vinyls for every genre. From holiday music to Black Metal. Only complaint is that for CDs.. Not the vinyls though.. they clump everything into Rock... So Backstreet Boys will be right next to Celtic Frost for instance. Making simple browsing a little cumbersome.
Humberto Rivero
Awesome music shop with a gigantic collection. Found what I was looking for and more... could spend hours here. Lots of random memorabilia as well.
Regina Paulsen
What a blast from the past taking in all this vinyl! I was drawn to a visit by an ad in the Tribune for MM sidewalk sale. I probably hadn't been in the store in 50 yrs!!
Henrietta Collins
One of my regulars stops when I'm in Portland. I love the upstairs section and I always find good deals on oldies.
Nathaniel Blue
Great shop. Super large and well organized. Nice mix of new and used. Strong Rock and Electronic music sections. Only complaint was that many of the artists I came to find had zero records in their sections. Possibly due to high traffic here.
Toby Chicago
Music Millennium is a Portland Institution that is not to be missed! As far as I know it is the last record store, REAL record store in the metro area. If you're old enough to be of the Age of Vinyl as I am this is almost like a trip to Disneyland! It is also a performancr venue for musicians and they've hosted artists of all magnitudes including kd lang. It feels like I'm going back in Time when I step through the door, and you can almost hear that vinyl pop and hiss if you listen very very closely! Highly recommend shopping at Music Millennium and hope they never ever close.
Isaac
This is a beautiful shop with kind and helpful staff, and holy cow do they have a ton of records. I had a list of about seven albums I was looking for, and not only did I find them in excellent condition, I found a number of others I didn’t even expect to be able to find. You could be here for hours and not be able look through everything. Thank you Music Millennium, and I’ll absolutely be back again soon.
StocktonNative 209
Great selection of older bands....Stray Cats, Supergrass and the Specials. New and used.
Catt Catt
They have massive amount of cds and decent amount of records but not very many cassette tapes and they sell magnets and a bunch of other stuff
Lindsey Dominguez
OG Portland Record Store that had withstood the rest of time and mass gentrification. A Classic music lover’s haven with every genre, new and used.
Han Nguyen
music as far as the eye can see and more. all sorts of genres both new and used both cds and vinyl records for modern music as well as oldies. not only that but cds and VHS tapes of movies as well. found 2 queen cds for less than $15 total!
Elinor A
Employees often have an attitude, but they have a great kpop section. Got AOA's first album for $8.
Mike L
Love the place. Great selection on CD's
Bradley J. Timm
I was able to find what I was looking for and about 20 other records that I would buy if I had more money. All sorts of records for people with good taste and generally a pleasant store to be in, just be aware the aisles are a tight squeeze and it can get cramped.
Mercedes Mike
By far my favorite record store in Portland. Been going there since the '80s when I was in high school. They always have good music playing! Selection is great, even with eclectic stuff. Customer service is also spot on...the staff are folks who are actually interested in music. And then there's the owner Terry...he's a Portland icon! Super cool guy. There's a reason this store is so good, and it really all ends with him.
I'm a regular there and I'll be back soon!
Charlie Wellock
I visited lots of record store while I was in Portland, and Millennium was at the top of the list. Awesome selection of CD's, vinyl, shirts, you name it. I guarantee you'll find something you didn't know you wanted but have to have.
Kimberly Prescott
This is the place to go for vinyl. Used, new, and other formats. You'll probably find what you're looking for.

Music Millennium truly is a Portland treasure. Three+ full rooms of records, movies, and more provides a never ending selection, have a beer on tap while you peruse, and get the best of the best in music advice, knowledge, and debate with both fellow customers and staff. They buy used, sell new and used, and really are the top when it comes to music spots. To the staff and owners of Music Millennium, thanks for sticking it out through all of this, and here's hoping for many more years to come. To everyone else, you'll love it here. Promise.
Julissa Mendoza
This place is so big definitely check it out.
It has all types of music to chose from!
Milana Snoen
This place was one of the best stores I've visited in Portland- I grew up here in the city and I was just amazed by this place. An extensive selection of cds, vinyls and a /massive/ selection of dvds for an amazing price. 10/10 would recommend!
Robin Cutten
Music Millennium from my favorite record shops in terms of selection as well as knowledgeable staff. They have a computerized database, so they can look to see if they have something in stock. They're also always looking out for the customer. I ordered a special edition copy of Invisible People by Chicano Batman record, But because of a mix up it was sold out. To make it right they hooked me up with a different colored pressing as well as a SIGNED dust sleeve for no additional cost. Needless to say, y'all have earned my business for life.
Cherrybabz1
My uncle loves music so we came here 10 minutes before closing and they helped us with everything. Even helped me with his walker. They were sweet and we will definitely be back. I've a wide variety of music
Steve Russell
Only problem I have with this store is the amount of money I'm forced to spend because they have so much cool stuff inside. I love Music Millennium.
Steve
Phenomenal Selection!! They had EVERYTHING I needed !!
Great Prices Great Music, Atmosphere, Employees were Extremely Pleasant and Very Helpful !!
I’ll definitely be back here !!
Rose Morris
Awesome selection in a labyrinthine location. Every time I thought I'd seen all the vinyl, I found more.
Matthew Andree
Classic old school record shop.y goto source for my favorite Chicago Blues music. The selection is great
Nina Nititadakul
You could spend a minute or millennium in this record store. They have so many sections that you’re bound to find something for everyone. What’s the most enjoyable part is the different music that changes from each section to the store. They have surrounding Knick knacks and Keep Portland Weird stickers with all the essentials to make this an awesome store. Staff is super helpful. Trust me, if you can’t find it. Ask. You’re probably just blown away by their mass supply or walked in after a drink at brunch like me. We found some really amazing music that soothed me to sleep on our record player. Definitely felt like these albums were always meant to be played like this. Thanks Music Millennium!
Mama G
Always an excellent buying experience! Today I sold and had a wonderful convo with the buyer! Got some trade cash and am now enjoying some amazing vinyl! Thanks for such a cool easy experience!
PrivateSkittles 91
I bought my first CD in this store with my Mother when I was about 17. I don't remember what CD I had purchased, but my Mother had just picked up Rush's Snakes and Arrows album from 2008.
It was the first time I had heard rock and roll. Later that year, She bought us tickets to see Rush. That concert with my Mother is one of my favorite moments in life and It never would have happened if she didn't show me Music Millennium.
I am really grateful to those who have kept this place running through out life. Thank you for all your work.
Christina Booth
The only reason this review is not 5 stars is because the used CD selection was a bit picked-over when I went there. (maybe they issued too many Groupons?) Other than that, I had a great time shopping there. The staff was shockingly helpful and friendly. I am not used to that from a record store at all! I don't look "Cool" or "Hip" (even though I am) and usually I get poopy service at "Cool" record stores even though I have absolutely impeccable taste in music. (Jokes, y'all)
Anyway, this place is chill. It's not intimidating, but still feels "happening." I took my Nephew and he thought I was a cool Aunt for it. It's not easy to impress those Generation Z kiddos, but this place really excited him. Me, I loved that it still had that "Old Portland" feeling. Gawd, I miss 90's Portland...
Constantin
Been coming here for years still my favorite and the website seems to be pretty accurate if you’re looking for something in particular before you come in :)
Peter Nehring
Classic pdx record store!! Must visit if u love vinyl!
Chris Larson
Awesome record store, great selection, great staff, and a cool atmosphere!
Ted Rockwell
One of the best record stores on the west coast of the country. Deep bins of new and used vinyl with a huge selection. Don’t miss the upstairs section of used albums. They’ve got CDs and equipment too. Maybe lacking slightly in the jazz section but overall an excellent store to get lost in.
Kush L
Been coming here for years..... A lot of great experiences! And it's like a museum in the building! Just browse the walls!
Kylen S.
Fantastic selection of all media types. I went in for the VHS but with a lower quantity available I stayed for the vinyl. Friendly & helpful staff!
Taylor Robins
There is certainly plenty to sift through for fans of pretty much any genre, as well as a large selection of equipment and even a bar! The 7" selection was especially interesting for me personally, and the hip hop selection was decent.
Daniel W
Great store great prices u just gotta see for yourself. Had been awhile since i been in a rocord store and it was awesome. I like to get cd.s for the car but they got tons of stuff. Some sweet stickers here too!
Rodney
This place is amazing!! Very helpful stage and I found surprising records for reasonable prices! I will make a trip here again real soon. 🙂💿 …
Rusty Morgan
Wow what a crazy selection! Looking for 3 specific albums. Found them all plus a couple extra
Stephen Wayne
Love this place!! My band Souls Worn Thin finally got our album on the shelves here, so we had to check that out. This place was hopping with all kinds of amazing people digging for that special record, enjoying the atmosphere, and picking up all those little things that you can only get at a place like this. ******!!! That's six stars because that's what you deserve!!
Zaid Khalaf (Kreecher)
Music Millennium is a Pretty cool spot to get your hands on LPs and CDs as well as Tshirts and other Rock n Roll paraphernalia.
Music Millennium also boasts an impressive offering of vinyl for all you audiophiles and fidelity conneisures. If the title you seek exists in this world, then this is the spot to hit up for a specialty order.
This just might be the only place left in Portland that you can find your favorite artist's new album that you have been dying for on the official Tuesday release date like in the good ol' days.
They occasionally throw a release listening party for certain bands and have a great selection of box-sets and bootleg/foreign releases.
This is the spot to head to if you haven't completely gone digital...yet.
Brad Gordon
Great selection of new and used albums. Found some gems for my collection.
Rose City74
Music Millennium is the best place to find music of all flavors. Exceptional selection and knowledgeable staff. A Portland institution since 1969.
sean kp
Truly a magical place for any music lover. Their staff are friendly and will help you find anything you're looking for. The store is huge but still well organized. 10/10 would recommend stopping by, they have everything from LP's, box sets, CD's, Tapes, and VHS! It's almost impossible to leave here without finding something you'll want want to add to your collection 👍🏾
Ian Marshall
When you visit this store you are visiting half of the record stores in Portland, in other words this is about 5 regular-sized record stores smashed into one, it's pretty remarkable. You'll find something you're into here guaranteed, it might just take some searching, which is part of the fun. It took me 4 hours to speed-browse all the pop rock records. They have some cool niche sections, like a huge shelf of 7 inch singles, not to mention about a third of the store is CDs (remember those?). They have some iconic CD box sets you'd pay a good deal more for on eBay. The used and new prices weren't a steal but they're reasonable, unless you're talking about their wall of sued CD's, those were remarkably cheap. If you visit one record store in Portland this is the one.
Temple Drake
Great record store with fantastic, helpful employees.
M Conner
Huge vinyl selection. Always good digs, new and used. Live music and and now beer on tap!
Nick Mathern
Just like old times. Knowledgeable staff eager to talk about music and a great selection.
Nancy Glesmann
Music Millennium is one of my very favorite stores, with an atmosphere that is all its own. I always stop here when I am on the east side of town, and I never leave empty-handed. They have an excellent selection of many different types of music and artists, in a variety of formats...truly something for everyone. My only complaint is that the upper floor is difficult to access for mobility impaired people, but the staff is always very helpful, if you let them know what you are looking for. It is always like a treasure hunt in this store, and I never fail to leave with something that I had not been aware I was even looking for. It is so much more fun to come to this store and search for something special, than to just sit at home and order it on the computer. I am already looking forward to my next visit!!
Adrian De Los Rios
One of my favorite places in the world Massive vinyl selection.
Judson Cato
Best record store I’ve been to in years! Thanks guys!
sandman503
This place is awesome, a bit over priced but nothing surprising, mostly new stuff but amazing selection. 4 starts because it seems like they didnt want to help much today. Totally not my experience in the past though. Disappointing since brick and motor is all about experience these days.
Jim Darrell
This is one of my favorite record stores in the whole world!
I love how this place has something for everyone.
I also love how this store is constantly evolving over the years.
I've been coming here since the late 90s and always leave with great stuff!
The staff is super friendly and always happy to help you find something, and their selection is so great you're likely to find what you were looking for!
There's a reason this place has been going strong for over 50 years!
Jordan B.
Moved to Portland 6 months ago and as an avid collector, of course I immediately sought out the local record stores. By far the best in the area. Friendly and helpful staff, good variety, huuuuge selection. If an album comes out, it’s probably on the shelf the day of release. In the time I’ve been here I’ve easily dropped over $1,000 in store and I won’t be stopping anytime soon. Much love to you guys and galls!!!
Christopher Guyette
Great place. Everyone very nice and very helpful. Great place to buy old school music
Ray Lucero
Music Millennium just celebrated their 50th Anniversary. One of the oldest independent music stores in the Country.
Jack Strand
I have been going to music millinium for a number of years, staff is very helpful getting in lps that are hard to find. Always enjoy spending time there going through A to Z artist selection.
imbie
First time here, a bit overwhelming, just not used to a record store this big, which is a good thing. Too far away for me to frequent more often but, will definitely look forward to coming back to browse
V Rene
Love this place. They have almost every CD known to man. I sell my cds here and they pay a great price. They also have cool t shirts and a ton of other interesting stuff.
Gerties Ride
It's a toy store for for any music lover. I could spend 6 hours a day each day I go. Exceptional service. The other patrons are great too. I hear what they are looking for then I have to have a.
Erin Jimenez

Best effing record store in the universe!
Connie F
My sister and I just needed to place to go shopping. We were in the neighborhood and decided to drop in. It has been a long time since I've been there. So glad that we went to the I picked up a couple of CDs that I've been wanting to purchase.
Kim G
Parking lot available. Lots to choose from. Very helpful and friendly.
PDX M
A great selection of new and used just a fun store to explore exclamation
Tony Padgett
Best record store in Portland at the least. Amazing selection, great staff, cool unique location, shows in house. You can't ask for more in a record store!
Andrew Coonfield
Went to see Pond and John found a old Hazel album that had a picture of us in the crowd at the Xray Cafe! One of Portland's best!
michael walsh
“Keep Portland Weird” I believe is their creation. One of the last best old school music shop holdouts in pdx with a great new and used selection of vinyl and cds as well as some good dvd finds, wares, and odd knick knacks and toys. A few beers as well and very knowledgeable and chill staff, young and old.
Lee Kebler (Keebz)
Crazy selection! I can’t ever leave without finding something I didn’t even know I was looking for!
Melody Wells-Benitez
Wonderful selection and really kind, helpful employees!
Michael Hetzel
This place is massive and as a result they have everything you'd want to find. The staff were super nice and helpful. I'd easily recommend for anyone to make this a regular place to shop.
Jesus Romero
We were in Portland for a few days and wanted to check out some record shops and went here just to find out in amazement to see the shop kept going and going. Awesome friendly employees and awesome shop and had to pick up several records. Definitely will visit many more times when in the area visiting friends and family. Thank you.
Michael Teoli
It's wonderful to know that places like this still exist. I was helping my other in law clean out some things which included a large amount of old records, 45s, cds and more. In Los Angeles, where I currently reside, it's a whole big to-do to try and sell media like this and rarely do they take anything. So I wasn't sure if the effort would be worth it, but I was very pleasantly surprised!
Call ahead and make sure there is a buyer in-store that day before lugging all your stuff. The buyer on duty was very friendly and took care in assessing what I had brought. In the end I was able to walk away with almost $100 for my mother in law which leads me to really trust the store. Sure, you'd make (much) more if you took the time to sell everything yourself... but who has time for that??? I walked away feeling positive and not like I was getting hosed. Not only that, but I asked the buyer if the rest (that he didn't take) was goodwill material or if he had any suggestions, and he was honest with me and said to try Everyday Music, which I did and made another $7! So I really respect their honesty here.
While I waited, I wandered around the LARGE store and it's amazing what they have! Records, 45s, CDs, Dvds... even cassette tapes!!! They had some really rare stuff too. I almost walked away with a Beatles bootleg of Yellow Matter Custard, but this particular trip was about selling... not buying... But in the future, I know where to go! They had some pretty rare vinyl as well.
All around very fun and brought me back to a nostalgic time when you could go into a record store and really explore and find some gems. There's PLENTY to explore here!
Alex Weeks
Amazing selection. Amazing staff. THE record store to check out in Portland.
larasoures rex
Great selection of new and used CDs, LPs, and DVDs. Also, they have fun little toys and gifts.
Neal Tollisen
Been going here since I was young. Still carries new and used vinyl as well as CDs. Great selection from all of the different periods of music, classical, jazz rock pop, hip-hop, metal. They have it all!
Rosalyn Rowe
One of the best places to buy vinyl in Portland. Don’t miss the jazz section upstairs, and there is a restroom across from the checkout counter — ask for the key
Kari A
The largest selection of vinyl i was able to find anywhere around Portland... and beyond. Love this place! I could spend an entire day here, easily!
Dylan McNamee
An old school record store, but keeps the enthusiasm fresh. I still hear interesting new music playing every time I visit. They love all music here. Vinyl selection is growing, but still a great selection of CDs
Micheal
I was in your store for first time. My son and I decided to start exploring vinyl record stores in Portland. I’ve been a club DJ for 33 years and have an extensive vinyl collection. I was blown away by the selection, point-of-sale, line of sight, and merchandising in your store. I’m also very pleased that whatever laminate you use to post prices on your vinyls does not stick to the cover art even better it’s on the plastic cover sleeves if possible👍 I also really appreciate having an itemized listing of the vinyl that I purchased. Your staff was very friendly and personable, I spent over $200 and left completely satisfied. I will be back🤘
Garrett Lusey
I'm starting to get more serious about collecting physical media and this is definitely the place to go. They've quickly become my favorite store in Portland. Great selection on vinyl, cd's, movies, and more. Plus the workers are wonderful! I always have to make time to visit Music Millennium if I'm in the area.
Shannon Chamberlain
Reminded me of the early 90's when used music stores could still be found all around. Those were the days when a collector had to physically search for the music they collected. Then the internet came along and made the search less fulfilling. This place is large, diverse, and fabulously nostalgic for all the right reasons.
Mathew Snow
Great selection of vinyl. Always spend a considerable amount of time here perusing the albums. Reasonable prices for new and used albums. Knowledgeable grading system on the condition of used vinyl so you always get what you pay for. Listening station to sample used albums. Love visiting this place when I'm downtown.
Dani
This is a cool spot but it can be a bit claustrophobic. I've bought a lot of cool stuff here over the past five years. It can be a bit pricey compared to other places. I also noticed one it the associates was following me a bit when I was there yesterday. I've never stolen in my life. That was the first time I had someone (ever, anywhere) follow me around. It made me feel super awkward. Maybe put in cameras and watch people behind closed doors. I used to work loss prevention and that's how we would catch people. It's a lot less invasive. I ended up just leaving without buying anything, which made me sad. I wanted to find a cool new artist. Oh well, maybe next time.
Kevin Robbins
Always a fabulous selection of used and new vinyl in all genres. Make sure to check out the budget CDs upstairs! Great deals!! A place Keeping Portland Weird forever! Go now!
Mike Noradki
As a novice music collector, I am no expert on anything the hobby entails. That being said, I stumbled upon this store heading to another record store on my GPS and decided to stop in. Best decision that I ever made! They had a massive selection of not just vinyl records, but CDs, cassette tapes, DVDs, Blu-rays, and pretty much anything you could imagine a music store would have. It was incredibly well organized by genre, artist name, and whether it was new or used, you could easily find whatever you wanted. I would highly recommend this store to anyone looking to breath new life into vintage music or movies!
R. Matt Coker
Helpful staff, HUGE selection of used CDs. I think this is the first store I've ever been to with so many used classical CDs. I mean, they have a used Respighi section, so there's a lot to choose from.
Will visit again next time I'm in Portland.
Christian Grand
This is a gorgeous store. It's big, and full of music and local culture. The employees are knowledgeable and enjoy talking about music. It's good for popping in and getting what you need (they'll even put stuff on hold for you), and it's great for spending some time and browsing records and CDs. I make an effort to buy my records from here when I can.
S C
Best record store and staff ever for selection and service, and for always being an integral part of Portland's live music scene. Never disappointed to stop in here, and my teen loves it, too. Amazingly, they also showcase live bands in the shop!
wesley meier
Visiting Portland? Love Records? Well you must go to Music Millennium! The selection of new and used media of all kinds is massive and the pricing is fair. Definitely a must visit place to fill in holes in your collection!
Xavier Ortega
This is probably the biggest selection(from electronic to world)in music you can find in the Portland area. From vinyl to compact discs to cassettes. The only downfall is they are slightly overpriced on their vinyl selection.
David Balsley
Great to have this long-time Portland icon benefiting from the new interest in vinyl. Be aware that there are not a lot of old cheap records, most of the vinyl is new pressings at new prices. Lots of inexpensive CDs and tapes in all genres.
Chaøtic Neutral
Sometimes they're out of the popular stuff but I've gotten 90% of my records from here. They have tons of CDs and lots of music genres to choose from.
david inman
If I lived near this place I would never have any money. Great place to find the thing you didn't think they would have.
Jenny Rios
Music Millennium had a good selection of music. I was looking for specific artists and their work but I was unable to find them. They had a small selection of Latin music but other than that I loved the people who work there.
W. Ryan Hatch
This is one of the quintessential music shops in Portland. There is a very large vinyl section with a lot of diversity in what they have in stock. You can find some real treasures if looking for rare used vinyl, priced appropriately for those willing to drop the cash for that "must have" pressing.
Paul Hamilton
Got a sweet AC/DC sticker for 3 bucks 🤘 …
Shayla Adkins
Lots of selection. Not a huge selection for R&B and hip hop or classic jazz etc. I love rock, pop, and metal. . . but they could have some more selection for other genres. They did tell me they could order things for me online, but I can do that too hehe. Staff was helpful overall.
Austin Wilke
So we bought an audio technica record player, it was the floor model so already the manager Phil was being nice for selling it to us at a slight discount. We discovered we were missing the counter weight and called them. Phil was so nice, he offered to order one as fast as possible free of charge and said it’ll be in on Tuesday for us to pick it up. Later that day he called us back and said he found one and we could come pick it up, then he hands me a paper bag with a Steve miller band vinyl for free as an extra gift even though the part we were missing was small and easy to replace. He didn’t have to do that but he did because of how cool he was. The employees there were also fun to talk too and very helpful also. Definitely the best music store in Oregon.
Wendy Durighello
The place with all the vinyl you could ever want! Also a great place to find kitchy gifts and CDs and cassettes.
Matt Allen
This place is just the best. From the people that work there, to the selection of EVERYTHING. If you’re going to spend your money, do it here.
Thanks again for the much better experience than I had at the other record store near you.
Joe Birchhill
Called ahead to make sure that they had the item I wanted. The person on the phone told me they did, and that it would be set aside with my name on it. Took my full last name and everything. When I get to the location, not only is my item not set aside with my name on it, but they don't even have a copy in the building!!! I only have one leg, and rely on mas transit!! Thanks for wasting a solid portion of my day!!! I use to like your store....UPDATE!!!! The owner of the store contacted me very shortly after writing this review!! They apologized, and sent me a gift certificate!!! I realize this store has been a Portland institution for a long time, and the owner certainly doesn't have to rely on my business...but, it was still important to them to make it up to me!!!! I really appreciate that!!!
Anthony Viner
The short-haired blond girl always looks at me strangely, as though I have offended her. Her tone can sound a little rude or annoyed, too. I won't hold that against the store, though. They've got one of the better metal sections in the area, and I also really appreciate their assortment of novelty items. It would be good if they sold more Agnes Obel.
Chloe MacNaughton
Insanely awesome music store. It just kept going. I would suggest giving yourself plenty of time to explore, as we ran out of time looking.
David Tobey
Stopped by on a business trip visit to Portland. Large, well organized and reasonably priced used vinyl. A broad selection of all genres and formats. New vinyl is plentiful and priced about equal to Amazon. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
I have high standards for reviews, only giving four or five stars if I come away with more than an armful or some rare finds from 600+ want list. Therefore, I recommend this store to any vinyl hunters visiting or living in Portland. IMO, Music Millennium is much better than Everyday where I stopped prior and came away empty-handed.
John Keys
The best music store ever - keeping Portland weird!
Phil Gear
One of the coolest places in Portland to go if you are into music! They have a huge selection of new and old albums.
Was there on a CD release day and the staff was really accommodating through the whole process, from placing a pre-order online, to keeping us excited while we waited for them to open, having a nice setup outdoor of inventory, and finally having multiple checkouts to make the process even smoother.
Met some fun customers and like-minded fans in line too!
Sam Hochberg
One of the best record stores, certainly best in Portland. Very knowledgeable staff, wonderfully wide selection of new and used CD's and vinyl. Easier to find things as they're categorized by genre. Check their excellent website for sales and for regular, live in-store performances.
Em Black
Music Millennium will always hold a special place in my heart. Their store is organized in a very intuitive way, so the section you're looking for is going to be easy to find. In all the years I've been going there, the staff has always been good natured and helpful. The owner is around a lot, and if you run into him, he is a delight. I truly love this store, it's an important piece of what makes Portland special.
Ernest Cruz
Got my music millennium fix today, thank you , music millennium rocks!!!

The Amoeba Music of Oregon. In other words, it's the best.
Ezystutters
Absolutely massive selection! I wish I would've have more time to dig. Next time I am in Oregon I will make coming back a priority!
Nic Mather
One of the best record stores I've ever been too. A huge selection of everything. Everything from obscure used albums to brand new popular music. Easy to navigate. Friendly employees. Great vibe in the store. Unpretentious.
Kevin Nordseth
I normally don't leave reviews, but I will now. I have been looking for a CD for quite some time. A year or so. I found it at Music Millennium! I have to admit that being a first-time customer and getting the lay of the land was weird, at first. Really happy that they had the CD for $5.
Patrick Dehler
This is my favorite record store in town. They have everything you could possibly be looking for from the latest independent releases to your favorite obscure Zambian garage rock band. The employees here are kind and knowledgeable and seem to love working here.
Nicholas Johnson
Best selection around. Just expanded their metal vinyl selection too. Super friendly staff. Worth the drive from Eugene on a regular basis.
Sage F
Lots of new and used records over multiple generations. They stock CDs, DVDs, tapes, records, record players, and more, with lots of new arrivals and live performances. They take donations, but call ahead to make sure a buyer is in when you want to come in. Great atmosphere.
Brad Michael
Massive selection of used vinyl. Takes time to dig through, but there are definitely some gems here at a good price. Slightly more expensive than some other options in the area (Everyday Music) but still a great place to dig. Really good selection and pricing on a wide variety of vinyl accesories (cleaning fluid/kits, sleeves, dust jacket covers, etc).
Heather Stinson
Little bit of everything you didn't know you wanted on vinyl. Huge selection of vinyl, and even CDs and DVDs. Find something new for great prices every time i go.
Kyle Engen
Music millennium has been the best music store in Oregon for generations! A deep, deep collection of new and used from all the genres. (world beat, rock, electronic, jazz, classical, comedy) Vinyl, CDs, movies and toys. The most knowledgeable staff on the planet, and always something new and interesting. "At last I can really browse."
deadcell47
Best music shop in Oregon. Been buying music there for as long as I can remember. They have a wide selection and even some hard to find CDs and bands. If you are in Portland, definitely stop by and pick up some music.
Ida Know
Large selection of vinyl in many genres, including the most extensive collection of metal in Portland. Friendly staff, fun events and the meandering layout make it a bit of a destination in its own right. Can be a bit spendy but it's not a rip-off.
Greg Stoecker
My favorite store in Portland for used cd's and rare finds, and one of the best in the PNW. Prices on new items are okay/fair, not great, but I always leave with some great finds from their used room. Staff have been helpful and friendly. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Portland, or passing within an hour radius.
Julie Gorham
Music millennium honored their customers with amazing food, snacks and beverages, including some local bands playing on site. It was great to see everybody outside and enjoying themselves.
Brent Angelo
If you want to be a person who still truly supports music then go to this store and support the artists through actually buying their music. The physical thing gives you so much that the download can't. Music Millennium remains one of the Pacific Northwests best resources for your music needs. Terry Currier alone who runs the store is simply one of the areas most respected, does so much for the artists and is truly a great human being. Check out one of their free live shows, it's a cool way to hear new music or even catch some legends up close as personal. Music is art and that art is still worth paying for. One of the best music stores. Period.
Face Awkiima-Zitkanapasu
They can get any movies or CD for you
Abel DiGiorno
They always have the coolest items and trinkets to pair with their expansive music selection. I left my wallet there today when I went to pick out some album cover refrigerator magnets and it was returned to me with everything inside! On a customer aspect, its the kind of place where you dont just get excellent service, but its a memorable experience with the employees every time!
Mark Smith
For musicophiles, polymuses, or budding music connoisseurs, Music Millennium has it all.
Impressed with their catalog in vinyl and cd's, as well as the plethora of t-shirts and music, record, and American paraphernalia.
If you've never gone, you need to discover or rediscover this piece of Portland history.
John Kutasz
Great selection of new, used, and classic titles, CD, vinyl, and video. Video is especially strong with concert and musician specific content. All employees are knowledgeable and helpful. It's wonderful to still have an independent record store that is thriving
Christy TaJalle
My granddaughter tried Indian cuisine for her first time here! She gave it 5 🌟! Flavor, cleanliness, kindness. Good show Sudra 🙏 thank you 🙏 …
Jason Domann
This was my first visit. I was tired after a full workday and there was a line. I figured that even though my feet hurt, I was hungry and thirsty, the line was probably a good sign so I stuck it out. So when I finally get inside, tired, achy, hungry, thirsty, I felt just like a kid at a candy store. I got almost too many CDs to carry with my $78, all of which played perfectly well for being used and I had several good interactions with employees along the way. Literally anything not going right could have negatively impacted my experience considering all the contributing factors - so I can say with certainty that the experience was flawless.
1960jack
I have been to a lot of record stores in my travels through out the western states, Music Millennium has got it all. Just like record stores were back in the 60's 70's. Found a lot of the music I like and spent more than I usually do. Everyone there were top notch professional. I will be a return customer when I visit Mt Hood to go snowboarding, then spend more time and money at M.M. Check it out vinyl junkies!
Erik Valencia
This place got everything, pretty good selection of electronic records I just wish it was a bit easier to actually find specific artist or genres. They also have a fat dvd and blu ray collection with a small section for anime that I wish was bigger.
Alexis Harrison
This is me and my fiancé's favorite music store. Best selection, great customer service, awesome atmosphere, and well-kept overall. Absolutely everything is neat and alphabetized, including the used sections, making it easily shopable. We find something new and different every time, making each visit a unique one. Personally, my favorite shop in Portland.
Lonnie Danger
One of the best old style music stores still open in Portland. Fun, eclectic, interesting place with wide variety of music sources and information. You never know who might show up there to play music. Love it!
2 M's, 1 C
It's such a legendary record store. I could spend days there just flipping through all things music. Definitely the place to go to find any vinyl you might be hunting for.
Denise Lee
It's a rabbit warren of a store but SO MUCH GOOD STUFF! I went in looking for Beatles. Came out with a Beatles CD, a George Harrison CD, a John Denver CD, some Mr. Rogers sticky notes, and some orange Zotz candy. Total spent? $27.00. A bargain. Money well spent, they are careful about covid and friendly. Plus, driving away there's a beautiful neighborhood to go through.
Melissa Gutiérrez
Cool music store with tons of music. It’s got a fun layout and is in a beautiful neighborhood. I saw Taking Back Sunday perform a small acoustic set here and it was packed and crowded, but a good time.
David Giles
Probably the best CD store in Portland
Deirdre Watt
Such a great selection and very helpful employees.
Mike McHan
I love this place. Used to come here in the early 90's in my late teens/early 20's. Returned 25 years later while dealing with a bad headache and it was truely a site for sore eyes. It was just as I remembered it, if not better. I've been to dozens of places around the country; you will never find another Music Millennium anywhere. Great selection of music and there are listening stations to try out stuff you never heard before. Staff is excellent. Ambiance of store 5/5 stars.
Eugene Griffith
Nice pdx vibe local vinyl record and other music necessities store! Vast selection and friendly helpful staff. Stoked MM made it through the pandemic! Yay!!!
Amy O'Brien
This is possibly my favorite record store. Not only does it have an extensive selection of new and used, the location is great, the layout is certainly unique, and they have in-store performances. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and just plain fun.
Breandan the Irish Mystery Lad
Great selection of music and more. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Used and new products at fair prices. Upstairs area is a pain to get to, but that shouldn't detract from your visit too much. Parking in the rear of the building offers a small lot.
Johanna White
This record store is the best! They have lots of rare vinyl and a huge selection of different genres of music. Everyone who works here is friendly and helpful too. Highly recommended if you are a music collector.
Aaron P
An outstanding old-school record store! Similar in vibe, size, and selection as Easy Street Records in Seattle.
B.D. Bell
The absolute best place for music selection, and a knowledgeable staff, who are also very good and skilled at finding hard to locate material, including special orders. This would always be my first choice for music selections. Live shows on occasion, and other events to reward their customers. A Portland landmark, that has been in business for many years. A definite must-see, if you are a music, memorabilia, and video lover. Vinyl is available as well, for those who like records, as opposed to CDs, and they have a used area, as well as new, and many sale prices on many items, everyday. I could not give it a higher recommendation. It is the Best of the Best of its venue, in the Portland metro area.
Gail Lowy
I lived in the Portland metropolitan area for 33 years, when I reluctantly moved to the Tampa Bay area of Florida several years ago due to ever-increasing poor health. I have such fond memories of spending hours upon hours at my two favorite stores -- Powell's Books and Music Millennium -- that I get all weepy at the thought of never again being able to visit in person these historic icons of Portland. No matter what you're looking for, Music Millennium will either have it in stock or can order it, be it CDs or vinyl.
While I have shopped at Powell's online since leaving Oregon, I haven't yet done so at Music Millennium, and intend to remedy that when I can find enough pain-free time to sit at my computer to put together an order. It won't feel quite the same as visiting in person, but it's far better than not having the option. Plus, I have the pleasure of supporting local stores in a city where my heart will forever lie, not in a state that has a well-deserved reputation as being known as Flori-duh. Forget about leaving my heart in San Francisco; I left mine squarely in Portland.
Bobby Roberts
Most likely Portland's oldest record store which has endured many changes throughout the decades but somehow this business has stayed fresh stays connected locally and been a solid staple to local musicians and music fans everywhere from around the Pacific Northwest specifically Portland. You can buy vinyl records, tapes, albums, stereos posters stickers C d's. They have in store music performances on a regular basis with autograph sessions and artist signings. You will not find a more unique and friendly nusic store anywhere.
m.w. brooke
my absolute favorite record store in portland, this place has a great selection of vinyl (and CDs!) and friendly staff. their special in-store shows and events are really cool and fun, and remind me of the music scene in the '90s. i don't even want to think of how much i've spent at this store, because it's pretty excessive, haha. even though i don't live in the neighborhood i will travel to music millennium for a record so i can support the store.
Pauline Jones
An unimaginable source for LPs! Loved it!
Aubrey Folwick
One of the best music/record stores I've ever been to! Great variety of music styles and really good atmosphere. They play good music in the store, the staff are super helpful and friendly, and theres tons of cool knick knacks to buy too
Jeydon
Love this place!!! I only know about the CD selection (since there are records and other things too), but it's really great and I think thorough. There's also a section upstairs that has random used CDs for $2. Totally great, has an awesome, chill vibe, and sometimes there's live music performances.
Tracy Finck
Best music store in all of Portland! Huge selection of new and used CDs, vinyl and DVDs. Cool and super friendly employees that know their music. I go here as often as possible.
kyle graves
Cool record store. Minimal used selection. Employees turn up music to almost obnoxious levels if they see someone talking on the phone. Cool but also not.
Nils Zielonka
They got all the CDs and Vinyls you need, even German bands nobody's ever heard about. The store is divided into multiple sections, CDs separated from Vinyls and DVDs in between.
You'll find a vast collection of Rock/Pop/Metal/Jazz and Blues but also a great amount of classical recordings for a good deal.
Gabriel Buenrostro
This place looks like a dive , but once you enter it is a great record shop. I went in there for Santana and walked out with 3 more artists' CDs. They have special box sets, announce upcoming releases and are eager to help. Excellent place to lose millions and get lost.
Joan Waters
I came into Music Millennium, a shop located on 3158 E Burnside on a wednesday afternoon, at 5:00 pm excited to get some new vinyls. I was not disappointed, Music Millennium is an impressive little shop filled to the brim with 2 rooms of CDs, and 3 rooms of vinyl. I have been collecting vinyl for about a year now, and I think this is my favourite shop yet. All the vinyls were pretty standardly picked, the new pressings cost about $22 and use vinyls cost sometimes $5 or less. The CDs were also around the standard $10 price point. The variety of music was quite good as well, having everything from modern music like Igor by Tyler, The Creator to classic oldies like Toys in the Attic by Areosith. The only down sides are that when I visited the music was playing a little loud in part of the shop, but that is a minor complaint. Most of the vinyl at the shop are new pressings, so if you are trying to hunt down a perfect old pressing or edition for your collection this may not be the place for you, but otherwise I suggest checkin it out.
Adam Avra
Large selection and cool vibe. The organization was lacking, though. I think I missed some stuff I was looking for just because there seemed to be multiple places it could be. Pretty sure I'd have gotten past that if I'd have been able to spend more time, though.
Marlene Divina
Portland would be lost without Music Millennium. My husband, son, and I always find the music we want, no matter if it's rock, blues, jazz, or classical. We have been shopping at a Portland Music Millennium for at least 30 years. This store reminds me of the 70's...in a very good way. Thanks to all the employees for always being so kind and helpful.
Arjuna Duran
Lots of really cool collections and releases. They also have record store day which to my understanding is an event with limited time items at a great sale. But they have stuff for everyone here. It's kind of overwhelming lol
Matt Tj.
The original MM since 1969. Incredible selection of imports and bootlegs as well as all the new releases. Amazing support of local music with live bands that play there. Only knock are the prices...CDs are priced like it's the mid-90s for a tech that, while I love having the physical disc, is very passé these days and yet quite spendy for the average album. Wish they were more price competitive as I'd frequent there more often.
chris newman
I love Music Millennium and have for 44 years.Terry Currier has stayed involved from the beginning and is a true music fan. The in-store performances are amazing and their selection is extensive. I am so happy to see this store survive in these modern times of internet shopping
Rick Rhoden
Best selection of new releases. Lots of used vinyl. Very knowledgeable staff. Always something good playing. Just the best record store in all of Portland.
Scott Weber
An amazing selection of music and a must visit when in Portland. Great selection of vinyl new and used. If you are an avid music collector definitely set aside some time to spend an afternoon here.
Quinn Hansen
A Portland treasure. While I do not visit often I used to in the past. Record store day is daunting to me but I love the place anyway. I have walked miles through the music sections new and used and the new and used movie section is one of the best in town.
Kat Starbuck
Wish there were more various concert tshirts
Joseph Rowland
Quite possibly the best record store in Portland. Massive selection of used vinyl and their CD selection is second to none ( new and used ). Plenty of memorabilia as well. A must go place for the music but in you!!
paul p
Great record store, friendly, helpful staff. Special events, book signings like we just did. Rusted Metal baby, and free parking behind the store.
**Band_Its**
They have everything! If you want an album, they got it. And if for some reason they dont , they will order it for you. They also have a used CD option for less money if you choose to try and they will buy from you as well. Employees are always polite and willing to help in any way.
Dean Hanson
Music Millennium is one of the best music stores in all of Portland, and all of the Pacific Northwest. It has a fantastic collection of vinyl and all music mediums, with great merch to go along with it. Oh, and they serve beer on tap!! This place is great.
Colton Anderson
They have a great, fairly priced selection. Every dedicated record collector has that one (or more) record they are looking for. The guy working there went out of his way to help me find mine, and I came out with a sealed copy. It's fairly organized, I just wish they had a more diverse "electronic" selection, because I was hoping for some Italo and IDM but they seemed to be lacking in that department. Anyways, great Indie selection, very good jazz selection, and even better service. I will be coming back again.
Nicholas Palmer
Get your money, get your turntable ready and grab a 6 pack. It's Music millennium time! If you love records and you are in Portland this is it folks! Don't read my review, get on the #20 and take it to this gem
Rocky Gregory
A Portland institution! I've been shopping here for damn near 30 years. The smell hits me like a wall of memories and feelings. Took my son in and bought him some records and badges for his "punk vest", got me a little choked up to pass it down. Prices are good, selection is great! I could dig those bins all day every day.
Sandra Collins
This is a great local music store. It is such fun to go into Music Millennium with my teen and share music from both our childhoods. Staff are always helpful!
Stephen Krajewski
Music Millennium is absolutely the best record shop in the state. They have TONS of hard-to-find vinyl and CDs in all genres imaginable, and regularly host in-store performances of some of the best bands around. The owner, Terry, is one of the nicest and most helpful people in the world. You can tell that he loves his store, and that his customers mean the world to him. At in-store performances with long lines, they generally bring coffee and baked goods out to the patrons waiting in line. You can't beat Music Millennium!
Jason Zerbel
They have the best selection of Vinyl and CDs and they are a local small business. The staff are friendly and helpful. Sometimes there are live musicians and album signings.
C. Kellen
This place is great! Always seems to have something special we are looking for. Vincent was helpful as a buyer going thru our 45's & albums. Best place to go in Portland for music.
Daniel Bello
I could spend hours in Music Millennium. This is truly a Portland Icon and while they seem more retail than your traditional hole in the wall record shop, you can always find new and interesting records here. Plus, staff is super nice.
William Johnson
Great place to fine new and rare vinyl. The selection is vast and fills every music nerd's dreams.
Darwin Denny
A great record store. Probably one of the best in Portland. It's Abit on the spendy side, but the staff is super knowledgeable, I asked help finding an artist I just started listening to and they helped me pick out the best album of his to start with.
Anna Gorley
I love this place!! They have the largest selection of vinyl that I’ve seen in the PNW. If you’re looking for rare, specific, or obscure artists, this is THE place to go!
Mary
Music Millennium is my go-to for much of my music needs. I love the staff - especially the older gentleman (ok, hippie dude, lol) with the long white hair - they are quite knowledgeable, friendly, and patient ( yes, I require a LOT of patience, haha). If they don't have a selection, they can usually special-order it for you.
There is a good sized selection of rock, blues and jazz. Not too sure about other genre's as I don't get around to them often ;)
Home of the original "Keep Portland Weird" iconic phrase ( I believe, don't hold me to that)!
louis parsons
Best music store I've been to so far. Excellent CD selection.
Todd Ellner
Music Millennium is unique in Portland. It has managed to survive and thrive for fifty years as a music store from vinyl to cassette to CD and back to vinyl. Their range and depth is exceptional, from classical to hip hop. The store retains its Keep Portland Weird vibe
Michael Ironwood
Everything you would expect from a music store in Portland. The employees are pretty curt but I wouldn’t want it any other way.
Baylie Gende
Super cool store. It's much larger than it looks from the outside, and they have some amazing vinyl. They've also got a ton of CD's and some stuff that would make excellent gifts. A fun place to explore
Xess Dx
Hard not to love one of Portland's oldest and best music stores where you can actually buy a CD or album.
Plus they frequently have free live music of bands passing through.
A great way to spend some time, and your hard earned dollars.
Bayli Weden
Great selection of new and old records. Very well organized, friendly staff!
Army Jon
This is one of the last iconic record stores in the Northwest. It is probably the longest running too. The weird thing is that Terry Currier who also owns this place, owns the phrase: Keep Portland Weird. The place is an indie record store that has a lot of weird stuff too, and now they offer booze to browse. I love the outside and inside it is SO Portland. You can find vinyl for days... a MUST see when visiting Portland.
Monte Buhite
World Class source of new and used CDs, records, and music videos and books. And try the Black Vinyl Ale by Portland Brewing at their in-store pub. Website available for those outside Portland area.
Charlie Parcher
Wonderful selection. They commonly host events for local musicians. As a music collector, this is a must-stop place when I'm in Portland!
Steven Cashiola
Great selection of new and used CDs and LPs. Friendly, knowledgeable staff.
Forrest Murphy
It can get a little cramped, but an amazing selection of used and new CDs and records. and I love to support them. Employees are great. It's a little annoying that nearly all the CDs and most products in general have a white sticker with a price and then a yellow "Sale" sticker with a lower price. An annoying marketing ploy!
SeaJay
A lot of vinyls, cds, cassettes, and much more which makes it hard to find what exactly you're looking for. The staff are pretty quiet and don't ask if I need help or how i'm doing and i've went 3 times with every time having unfriendly staff. If you like exploring and searching for hours than this place is it otherwise you're better off calling and having them find it in stock for you at the store then going and picking it up.
Tom Salisbury
Greatest music shop anywhere and ever. I've been buying music since cassettes and today I found the vinyl I was searching for. I've been coming here since the 90's and never a bad experience in any way.
J. Carlos Uribe
Friendly people, used and new, product, music and movies, for all. Also, novelties.
Dallas Lyn Miller Downes
I love this local business!!! Great selection of new and used CDs and records. I am always happy with the outstanding customer service. I once had a negative experience and the manager went out the way to resolve this and make it right! This is hard to find these days!
This is my first stop for record store day!
Georgia A. Forshey
Music Millennium is absolutely the best. I have been a customer since 1980..and have never been disappointed. If you are looking for something "special " or something that may need to be ordered, they do their best to find it. Their selection is mind blowing.
Kyle Humphrey
I wish there was a bigger selection of Electronic CDs, however I think a lot of Electronic artists don't make physical releases anymore because of streaming services so it's not a big deal.
Other than that, this place is awesome and if you like any kind of music, you should stop by.
Colin Stevens
I've been going here for years and I always find something new every time. If you want something that they don't have, Terry and his employees will find it for you. Truly the greatest music store around.
Krystal Foster
Things I like about Music Millennium:
* The building is really neat. It looks like it used to be an old house. This makes for some great exploring through the many rooms and levels of the store.
* The staff here are fantastic. They have always been nice and offer to help me locate anything I'm having a hard time finding.
* Sometimes they run deals on Groupon (be careful, many times the Groupon is only good for used items).
Things I don't like so much about Music Millennium:
* They seem to have many more new records than used. This makes for a potentially pricy shopping experience.
* The way they file the records is a little confusing. I found that the items I was looking for could have been shelved in several locations.
* They have a turntable in a corner if you wish to test out any of the records you want to purchase.
Despite the few things I don't like about this place, Music Millennium is a fine place to spend an afternoon browsing the many shelves of multimedia items. Next time I find myself on that side of town I'll likely stop in to see what treasures I may be able to find.
Justin Booth
Great store! It's really nice going into a music store and just browsing around and trying to discover something new. Seems like nobody does this anymore, which makes me really happy this place is around!
Linnea Gonzales
It was a good place to find CDs of Lindsey Stirling and Apocalyptica. Unfortunately, I don't know about many other artists, but it was fun to browse what they had. I think I spent about 2 hours here with my friend who looked through the records they have
Julie Rundell
Great place have a wide selection fair prices unique items and a friendly staff
Jay G
This place is a glorious treasure hunt.
I’ll admit, I can get into some pretty obscure bands (I blame the internet) but I’ve been continually surprised by what they offer.
Sure you may not find any of the Visual Kei band Versailles but I did find my first album from the Proto-Death Rock group 45 Grave. But that’s just their in-store selection; their online store is ridiculously huge. It genuinely feels like the brick and mortar store just has stuff that they know they can sell.
But don’t take that as a bad thing. They still have everything from Nine Inch Nails and DEVO to Macklemore and The Ventures. Seriously, if the band ever had even just one single ever on the billboard for more than a week, they’ll have an album by them. Even their selection of vinyl (new and old) isn’t to be taken lightly. It’s truly a music lovers paradise.
My one gripe is that their online store seems to operate as an independent entity. I just wish that there was more connection between the two and they could ship things to the brick and mortar location. It might have changed since I was last there but it’s pretty disappointing. I guess it’s a logistics issue...
Joel Marchel
Perhaps the best place for music in the Portland metro area. The staff is knowledgeable and unbelievably helpful. Anyone that likes music - whether CDs, DVD documentaries, or vinyls - should check this place out!!
Mark Gorney
Very comprehensive real, actual record store, (CDs and vinyl), that has just about everything new and used. Just wish they had more soul 45s. They gave me a map of independent record stores which was helpful.
Ryan Healy
The Powell's Books of recorded music. This place should be visited often, as you will always find new gems you didn't know you needed. Just when you think you've flipped through every row of cds and vinyl, you discover another room with a category of music you need to explore.
Edder Ortega-Barranco
As a music collector I love shopping here! As a POC- I'm getting sick of being followed around the store by certain workers here! I'm not going to steal anything- so please stop following me!
michael brooks
this place is a weird portal back in time... to the 90's mostly.
who buys cd's?! it's crazy how many cd's are here! literally room upon room and 2 floors!
luckily they have about 1.7 rooms worth of vinyl which is super awesome! there is a little section in the last cd room that is the discount mixed bag section. 1 to 3 dollar finds if you're willing to dig.
they are super nice and do groupons once in a while so keep your eye's peeled on there!
glad this place can stay in business. go support them!
David Rosner
Well-organized with a great & deep selection of CDs. I found a few from my list - an obscure piece I had on album but couldn't find on CD...
Aaron Kelly
I don't get to this place very often, but it really is the great music place for Portland. While I was never quite as enamored as others were with the NW store, this one is awesome. Really a place dedicated to the experience of music in all ways.
Sean H
Lots of great albums. Good deals in used cds and records. Massive selection. Great staff.
Gary Wasserman
I contacted them about an out of print album. They volunteered to locate it for me. A few weeks later a phone call came to confirm that I wanted to buy the CD. A week later I had the CD. It was spendy but I really like the recordings. Thanks, MM!
Sara Segura
Friendly and knowledgeable staff, and an excellent selection. The prices are also good. I've been to some music shops that are overpricing records, but not this one. Great vibe here, too!
Eric Brown
They had a LOT of rock vinyl and the rest of their collection was lacking. I didn't have time to dig through to determine if it was truly a lack of options or of it was a lack of organizing (ie. Everything was under Rock) but either way I probably won't be going back due to my music taste.
Ans Ast
Lots, lots of records, CDs, DVDs, books on music, and related things. Fun place to spend time and support a local business. Likely you cannot leave without purchasing something you always thought about. Excellent selection.
Kamala Pati
This icon is the best record shoppe in Portland. Special order a CD I need. Great help. Lots of knowledge
Ryan Balderas
I don't swing by often, but when I do I can't help but find something awesome! I recently left with a George Carlin and Eddie Murphy vinyl. The staff helped and made it easy to navigate this easy store that's pleasantly easy to get lost in.
Patrick Billera
Grea experience selling my vinyl records. Received a fair price for 75 vinyl albums. Great store with various music genres. Owner is knowledgeable and easy to do business with.
John Geier
This place is still about the best I can ask for from music store. After shopping there for decades, it makes me happy to see my daughter shop at MM with as much excitement as I did way back when. This place better exist forever.
Miche Mi
Wonderful selection of music; unusual socks and t-shirts; lovely fragrances of incense; great stickers and pins, and attractive exterior mural. This place is a Portland landmark.
Kyle Harmon
Best record store in the country!
Huge selection plus the owner is awesome.
Such a great place Bob Mould recorded a video here.
Do yourself a favor and check them out.
Nate Mac
What an awesome store. Such a vast and killer selection of music! Didn't have the specific Album I was looking for, but I still walked out with some good music to play in my car!
Paula S Santos
Very clean and hip. Reminds one of the original record stores from the 80's. Very picky about the product they will offer to their patrons. Extremely caring and goes out of their way to help those in need as best they can.
RM Reader
Another business in Portland proper that has retained its identity from the 1970s. The art brightly dancing around the building's exterior sets the tone for the Music Millennium experience. The store is a riot of used and new music and entertainment related media: cd, vinyl, dvd, blu-ray, box sets as well as print and cotton merchandise. Peppered about the fairly well organized music selection is a large collection of kitch. From rubber placemats in the shape of vinyl records to funky socks, there are gifts for anyone. You can catch ablum release parties occasionally, with the biggest issue being staking out a place to stand to watch the band. The staff members are relaxed and generally have quirky, decent taste in music. Quintessential Portland.
Jason Hastings
I only visited the vinyl part of the store for trade. Trade rate seemed a little low, vinyl was priced a little high. Selection seemed good with a mix of new and used releases.
Mark Lindsay
Awesome place, everything for the vinyl, CD, cassette collector, you name it, if it has to do with the music medium, they probably have it.
Highly recommended!
Peter McWrightman
Music millennium has a great selection of music and a wonderful sense of "old record shop" feel. There are hundreds and hundreds of CD's and vinyls, as well as listening stations, testers, incense, posters, vollectibles, and more. Definitely a good stop.
James Predisik
Yep. This is everything you could ever want in a record store. This place is the reason I own records.
Robert Reitmeyer
Good sized record store full of new and used records.. best place to look first, for new vinyl!
Richard Gordon
Had a great time looking around and picking out 4 old CDs I had wanted. Great place
Public Notice

Ian Barry
Great space, very friendly staff and owner, everything exists here that'd you expect a good music store to have. And they have listening stations! Just like the good old days.
Jalen Hardesty
Best record store I've been to. Has multiple genres and is very well organized. Thousands of cds and vinyl. Will definitely shop at this store from now on!!
Introducing The (Al Koholique)
This is the best Record store in the nation. Not the biggest but the best. Not to mention one of the most helpful staff of any record store that I have visited in my travels. A++++. A must see when Visiting Portland Oregon.
Kyla Phillips
Awesome shop with a great selection! Really appreciate their RSD process, especially during COVID. Thanks for keeping us safe while still providing great tunes
Missy Isles
Really neat store with a huge selection too of CDs, Vinyl, movies and more. They sometimes host live music. Store is a little cramped and hard to navigate if busy, but it's worth it!!
Kimberly Bond
Great selection of new and used cd's and albums
Eric Dale
Excellent atmosphere with a very wide range of music and formats. A fairly large vinyl selection, as well as a huge section of CDs. Employees are very helpful and courteous.
Reb
Love getting my vinyls here, they are always super nice!
Brandon Barnhart
Really great selection of mostly new Vinyl and CDs at pretty good prices. I'd give 5 stars if they had a vinyl listening station you could use for new LPs.
Phil V
Great Artist Selection While On An Eclectic Time Warp + Fun Escape!
$2.00 CD bin! New and used music available. You can also find all kinds of side interests here such as scented candles, soap and other tidbits that are tossed in between shelving as fun eye candy and fillers which, some of these are actually useful.
It's also interesting to note that it's one of the 'official places' who legally license/own the copyright for the term 'Keep Portland Weird' if my memory serves me correctly and I think it just met in this case.
a bit strange, Gothic, colorful, artistic and weird would certainly describe this record/CD/MUSIC store. From the creative artwork on the outside of the building and the old gothic spire-style architecture pillars on the street corners out front, to the arched barrel roll ceilings and multi level buildings that makes this unique joined storefront space, it's a unique treat.
TheCrimsonReign
Large selection of vinyl. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
Matt Bulger
Sadly they never have what i want.. but still a very expansive record store
Kathleen
It's all about music! 50 years of it. This place has been selling vinyl from the beginning. Now they have CD's and DVD's as well.. ...Not to mention occasional live tunes.
James M
Excellent selection, and the staff was friendly the first time I was in. I specifically asked about the return policy if un-opened, and was told I could bring it back within 7 days for a refund on the card (no cash refund). So, when it turns out I didn't need my purchase the next day I drove 40 minutes back there to return it. The salesman I ran into the next day was the rude, and insisted I heard the salesman the night before wrong and that refunds were store credit only. He got very snippy, and I insisted I had specifically asked if I could get a refund on the card. I told him I understand that I was probably told the wrong thing last night, and I'm not interested in store credit so I'm just upset that I drove 40 minutes for nothing. He talked to the manager, in the store manager was gracious enough to make a one-time exception for the return due the confusion. So I am grateful for that. 5 stars, but I docked a star since the employee who ran the refund got really snippy with me afterwards when I was leaving, which was uncalled for. It was an honest mistake, whoever the employee was the night before obviously didn't understand the return policy and gave me the wrong information. There was no need to get snippy. I normally shop at Everyday Music a few blocks over, and I understand that their return policy is store credit only so that's never been a problem. Maybe Music Millennium gets a lot of scammers, hence the snippy attitude when I left. This was my first time there so I can't say. However, there was no need to get snippy over an honest mistake. I think the store manager handled it excellent, I think the counter employee could use better training in customer service.
TE Groghan
Good selection....did notice quite a few records were a lot higher priced than another store....same exact releases.

Met some old aquaintaces there to listen to local bands, people watch, and support Terry and Music Millenium. Terry told me that every waking hour (when he's not working) he spends finding local talent and listening to their musical creations. He asks his favorites to play at his annual event. KINK radio station had a tag line that I think applies to Terry: true to the music.
Wendy Gagnier

Additionally I've seen numerous artists there from Robert Fripp's introducing us to Frippertronics to Dr. Dimento's latest appearance.
