This place is so freaking cool, I had no idea, it’s literally got everything you might think of and then some. Electronics, musical instruments, records, dvds, old retro classic t shirts, cute gag gifts, like I didn’t even get to see the whole store and I’m so recommending this place. I was on the the phone with them first and then came in shortly after and they were so laid back and helpful and over all talkative and just honestly looked like everyone enjoyed their job, and that’s so rare. I will be back!

Good place to find some good finds wether it be movies, games, consoles, music, Funko pops, books, etc. One can spend hrs looking at every aisle. Just use the bathroom before coming as they don't have bathrooms and other places around don't let you use their bathrooms.

What an awesome and nostalgic place! The staff is very friendly and greeted us upon walking through the front door. They have so many cool items at this location! From board games, vinyl records, CDs, video games (including a lot of retired/retro consoles and games), hard-to-find items, books, movies, graphic novels, toys and collectibles, they have a variety of things to keep anyone interested. Their prices on a lot of things are fair, some high, and some bargains to be had. We spent half an hour browsing the store and did not get bored at all. I highly recommend this store and supporting local businesses!

I've been going to this place since the 90's. Still the most excellent place to find Cd's, books, collectibles and all other sorts of random cool stuff. Highly recommend. Also...this is the best Zia out of all of them!!

This place will buy most everything. As long as the exterior part of the item is in good condition. The associates working were all helpful and knowledgeable of the products they have. And if they didn't know they offered to go find out an answer. I will most definitely go back to sell them some more DVD's, books and some other collectibles that I have. And making sure I don't have any water damage as I did on my first visit to them.

This place is my favorite spot to find movies and video games at a bargain price. I have been coming here for years, and tell all my friends/ family just how great this place is. The selection is unreal for both DVDs and Bluerays. I have never not found the movie I was looking. Video game section isn't anywhere near as big, but sometimes you can get an A list game for a bargain price. If you've never been, I highly suggest you do so. There is something for everyone here.

Even though vinyl has become a dying hobby zia still manages to find ways to buy and sell used music movies books and pop culture items. Tip for selling. Look it up on ebay before you bring it in. If its actually rare and in like new condition then it might be worth bringing in.

A bit edgier than Bookmans but very clean and well laid out. First guy who greeted me was very kind and considerate aside from his rough n tuff scary exterior. I really wouldn't want to get on his bad side and I'm sure he adds alot to the security of the store. One of the coolest record stores in Phoenix, theres so much here for everybody! There are records, laser disks, cds, books, manga, cds, vhs, anime, all sorts of accessories and things you can use to customize and decorate with, and it is all almoat endless! Would recommend stopping by here but theres so much you will need to go more than once. The Thunderbird and Camelback locations are both fantastic! The employees are super friendly and helpful! The store also has a rewards and points system that lets you dave money off of purchases!

It’s a small chain record/book/collectible/movie store. Good selection of vinyl but wouldn’t call it great. A lot of random stuff so sometimes hard to find something specific, but the staff has always been really friendly and will help you find it if they have it. Not gonna find a hidden gem as they are always on top of their pricing.

Awesome nostalgic place. You walk in and get hit with the smell of Nagachampa and patchouli immediately. As 9nwas there thuming through records I saw several folks come in to turn in their unwanted records,tapes, and games for cash. Everyone is super friendly and will help you with all your questions. Their selection of vinyl is amazing and I would def give yourself time unless you already know what you are looking for. I was really amazed to find current albums in there aswell.

Remember ZIA from the 80's....haven't been there since. Now....a whole new world! Bringing back Records, cassette tapes, turntables and childhood Memories :) Bought an original Madonna record and sad to say she was warped. 7 day exchanges, no cash back as receipt said. They were good about the return. IF you can go original versus re-produced and Remastered do it! The original is cheaper....Really?? They have a Member point system as asked and its 🆒 Have been there twice....plan to be a regular :) Prices are overall pretty good....remember Google is your Best Friend :)

First off, I really like this place. Unique items at every turn. One could get lost for hours here and enjoy it. The bad thing is the checkout. 7 employees were behind the register counter and only 1 register was open. It took me 10 minutes to pay for my item. The line was 8 deep. Would have been 10 deep but 2 people got fed up and put their items down and walked out. So, cool place to visit, depressing time leaving.

I just bought all of these DVDs for about $20! Zias is a wonderful new/used store that sells dvds, blurays, cds, records, cassettes, books, comic books, games, and more. They also accept your new and used items as listed as trade in for store credit or cash back, though the store credit is always more than the cash. The store is always stocked, their employees are friendly and helpful, and the prices are perfect. Plus, if you decide to leave without a bag, they give you a chip which you can place in one of three organizations that the proceeds go towards. Good store for all ages.

I love this place. I'll admit their products are mostly overpriced, that's an opinion of course. The staff I've interacted with seem to enjoy their employment at ZIA. I'm pleased by their friendliness and exceptional customer service. People can trade stuff at the store. They offer fair cash or store credit for things they take. There's also a reward program to encourage repeat business. You earn points for purchases. Those points can be redeemed for what is effectively a coupon. It's a great incentive.

I love all Zias, the atmosphere is a party of retro and new. I love collecting things. The only major suggestion I have for all zia is to continue to develope your agents interpersonal skills when deal with individual with disabilities, I have PTSD and ocassionally shows, I try my best to interact as common as possible at time this is not possible and they do react adversely. Other wise 80% customer service is amazing! Im new to this community but will visit this Zia in particularly often.

The manager and employees here on Thunderbird are very knowledgeable and a lot more helpful than the manager or employees of the store on Camelback. I like the records as a whole you can get the music here that is not the music that is played on the radio they have a wide selection of music if you don't want to just hear what you hear all the time on the radio. I am a consumer of all types of music but I particularly love the artist that are not mainstream they put a lot more love and are more unique with their work.

This place is phenomenal! How can I describe it? To me this place is basically retro heaven. A blast from the past, a Trip down to Memory lane. This place has a lot of things that relate to the classics, 80's 90's and probably older hit items. They even sell clothing and books plus comics. This is one of my favorite places to go when finding old games, it so nostalgic for me. I love it! Thanks for bringing back my childhood memories, it means a lot to me!

This location is unfortunately not my favorite even though its closest to my house. I've had issues there with selling some things before where they take a long time to get to my items then seem to offer me a low ball me. Sometimes their items seem a bit higher priced than other locations, but I have to say this location has the best book selection by far. I still come here often to see what I can find, but have decided to no longer sell at this location. The staff are still usually very friendly and helpful if you need to locate an item or get a price check.

Not much i can say except they have everything here. All genres of collectibles, media, entertainment, and merchandise. If they have what you are looking for, its probably gonna be at a great price too! No eBay prices here thank goodness. They even have good prices on older games and even older sealed video games! I picked up a copy of halo 2 factory sealed last night because I just couldnt leave without it! Thanks zia records for always being there to scratch my video game hunting itch!

It's a blast from the past and present, from real vintage concert T's, CD's, cassettes, 8-tracks, vinyl lps, puzzles, board games, ps4/ps5 games, Xbox One/360 games, Nintendo Wii/Wii u games, collectables, action figures, Book's, you name it they most likely have it if not they'll call there other locations if they have it they will have it delivered to the Zia close to you call you when it arrives go pick it up. This store has changed a lot. I like to look through all the musical clearance. I can't resist the book section too, always find great deals on books. Lastly, I take the scenic route through the instruments & novelty sections. Gift giving made easy. If you are looking for an artist & they don't have it, they will get it for you. I have not been to a Zia's is a very long time, and I do not know why I have not been. Even though when I used to go the store was closer to 90% music with 10% movies and novelty, where as now I would say it is closer to the other way around, Zia Records is still one of the best, and quite possibly one of the last, places you can go to and buy a CD or vinyl without having to have it delivered via Amazon or wherever. Also with so many novelty items, figures, books, and comics, prepare to spend a lot of time just to take a look at all they have to offer because I am sure you will find something you will want.

This place is great. My only piece of advice is to treat it kinda like you would Goodwill- don't go looking for anything specific. You never know what you're going to find which to me is half the fun. I've picked up collectibles still packaged in mint condition for a quarter of the price they go for on eBay or Amazon or whatever. The employees on the whole are pretty rad. There's a couple jaded hipster douchebags but that's too be expected - don't bother with them and the rest are happy to geek out about some weird Japanese horror manga you've never heard of but are about to fall in love with, some weird b side of a David Bowie record, etc.

So last week I was looking for a movie and called in and first spoke with Keith who was extremely nice and helpful. I was in the neighborhood so stopped in and was then also helped by Mina and Bryce who were also very kind and knowledgeable. Although they didn't have a copy of the movie I was looking for I was able to find some great new vinyl and a bunch of $.99 DVD's. I always have a wonderful time at Zia and always find much more than I was looking for. The staff is always very kind and very helpful and I will always make Zia my first choice when it comes to any kind of entertainment! I've been going to Zia records for 8 years now. When I go in there it's like a treasure hunt! They always have something different which is why I like going there. Especially this location they always keep things stocked up and they're always putting new stuff out. If you're like a '90s kid man go into that store you're going to see your childhood pokémon Nintendo 64s iPods they got everything they had a game boy color there one time and someone grabbed it the next day because I came back to get it. My kids love going here to buy gifts for holidays.The staff is super friendly and go out of their way to help you with anything. And they'll check the other store for you if they don't have it in stock. Pricing is reasonable. Everything second hand but in great condition and I've never had to return anything because it didn't work. They're very eclectic in their Musical preferences that they play in store, and I love that. They always have a great musical recommendation based on your tastes. Especially during the holidays, this place can be very busy. I love how they will donate to your favorite charity if you forgo the plastic bags on the way out.

I had a mixed experience here. Great selection of movies/shows but a very small record selection and an almost non-existent hip-hop section. The layout of the merchandise causes a lot of cramped areas and customers to run into each other. Also the prices were all over the place. You find five versions of the same exact film (format and everything) and you’ll get five different prices ranging from reasonable to over priced. Also in my opinion the music was too loud causing some disorientation. I like that they give a chip for donations if you don’t take a bag! In addition, the staff was nice and helpful.

If they don't have an item in the store you go into, they might be able to order it from another store and get it for you. I have been doing business there for years, never a problem. A lot of disc are $10.00 average price. If you need a disc player and are low on money they do buy a few used ones and resale them... Fun store to shop!!!

I was very impressed with this location. I had intended to check this store out since we moved to the Phoenix area and I finally made it on Record Store Day 2018, aka black Friday. I spent about an hour looking at their vinyl and cds, and some of the neat stuff alongside that area. I probably missed half the store, which I should check out next time. I did like their selection and the prices were reasonable. The young lady who rang me up was helpful, didn't mind checking if they had sold out of a limited edition I was looking for, and also took the time to spell out the points program.

My 8 yr old nephew wanted to test a piano keyboard & the store employee searched for quite some time until he found a power cord & speaker so he could try the instrument (most facilities ignore young people because their not the ones with the money, but he really made him feel important & got my respect & appreciation). I have been going to this Zia's for 9 years and find the staff to be super friendly. Their prices are good, but, sometimes I can find the items cheaper at other local game, record, or book stores. I haven't had too much trouble with quality. Out of the 9 years I may have run into 4 isolated incidents. The worst was when I bought a Batman Dark Knight collectors edition. It was completely destroyed for what could even be considered "fair condition," on a collector's item. I went back and so happen to have the manager when I was returning the box set. He was friendly and exchanged the box set for a new one. I really appreciate how they handle these sorts of things. This is one of the many reasons we continue to go here.

They have a good selection. Prices on new vinyl are good, but used prices are high. The people are hit or miss. I have had cashiers put their greasy fingerprints all over the used records when checking to see if the correct record is in the sleeve. I even had one cashier lean on the records I was purchasing with his elbow. My children know how to handle records better than some of their employees which is surprising for a record store.

The staff carefully inspects all the used CDs, DVDs and records that come in, so you'll almost never buy anything that's scratched or damaged. Zia is my absolute favorite store to visit. I pop in just about weekly because you never know what you're going to find, and that is exactly why its DOPE! I usually browse their records, but they almost always have cool toys, collectibles, video games, and books. I've been able to find old Nintendo 64 games and accessories, classic LPs, and I've also purchased an AKAI drum pad/keyboard here. The folks who work here and all pretty friendly, and cool. I've had some great convos about albums and music, or about old vintage posters etc so it shows they know their stuff and are also fans etc. This place is more than just used DVDs, CDs, vinyl etc.... but their movie selection esp is pretty awesome. And the prices are very fair...I def walk out thinking "wow I think I underpaid for all this" fairly regularly.....lol. Def pop into Zia if you haven't, you won't regret it.

Great treasure trove of media and pop culture schwag. Their trade-in pricing is as fair as any store in the valley. There's such a huge selection it takes multiple visits to see most, and the next visit there's new stock. My only criticism is some of the items are overpriced for being used. If it's rare or hard to find then fair play, name your price. But if I can order it off Amazon with free shipping for 25% less, it's far too pricey.

My all time favorite place. So close to work I love to go after a long day and get a good book, a new cd by one of my many favorite bands and some random knick knack I find on the shelves.. Always makes me feel better. I also LOVE their poker chip thing they do. The staff is always so cool and nice. :)

Zia Records is a different experience every time I go in, depending on the nature of my visit. I was there to obtain info on horror movie in a trilogy. The staff member I inquired with admitted limited knowledge, but quickley directed me to a team member more familiar this this genre. He answered my question professionally yet took the time to ensure he wasn't being short. My inquiry was on Annabelle Creation, purchased and enjoyed. Great location to shop at.

Nice place for music and movies, they have almost very movie you could think of and then some. They offer all music choices and have tons of stuff for you to discover if you like to venture outside the box. They also have video games and books too, and just like music and movies a very wide selection. Games can go back to Super Nintendos and go to today's game for a good price I might add, they even small the game stations, from fixer uppers to special editions. They even offer special edition board games and even collectibles from movies. A good place to go if you can't find that one movie anywhere or that one album you haven't heard since the good old days

My girlfriend and I were selling CDs, DVDs etc after going through the the house and Zia bought everything at a good offer. I'm sure experiences may differ when selling since I'm sure it's a matter of what they have or want at the time. But I prefer Zia over Bookmans any day.

Fun place to go to look for those hard to find movies. They still have some VHS movie tapes. Their prices are very reasonable. The sell previously owned PS2 games, Xbox one games, and also other gaming systems. They also have many titles of books. If you have the time to look for treasures, it is well worth the adventure.

I mean what can I say about Zia except they are Zia! Frankly it had been well over a decade since I had been in and I've wondered what on earth are they doing to stay in business? Well first let me tell you they still have all the old great music albums, cassettes and CDs that I spent many a teenaged hour mulling over what to spend my early paychecks on. Additionally they have used books and electronics, video games (of course) tons of used video game consoles and controllers. They had a whole bucket of guitar hero controllers, way way way more than I've found at other used shops but sadly not the one I need. There was many staff members and they were super friendly and helpful. One staff member even helped research some of the controllers to see if they might be compatible. I can see now why they are still around.

Huge selection of pre-owned/new/sale products including DVDS, BOOKS, (LOTS of books!!!) games, knick-knacks, etc. You have to do quite a bit of looking in bins, but if you have the time, lots of buried treasure! I grew up in NJ, just miles from NYC and recently relocated to Phoenix. I have always LOVED music, it's my favorite form of entertainment. When I was a teenager/young adult, there were plenty of record stores around me, two of which I dearly loved for their incredible selections - Tower Records and Compact Disc World. I could literally spend hours in both stores, and any time I went, I'd walk out with at least two CDs. Record stores have pretty much died back east, so I was absolutely elated to stumble upon Zia Records. This store is an utter amazement to me, and I'm sure I'll be frequenting it regularly as I'll soon be living mere miles away. For me, the way to listen to music is the old-school way. I believe it's a must to have the artwork, lyrics and information. Thanks so much for keeping that spirit alive, Zia Records!

I usually love coming to Zia. Great prices and movies. Tonight I came in late for a trade. The employee said they usually don't take trades that let but he would do it and I kindly thanked him. He told me he would need ID, understandable and I let him know I left mine at home but I have my ZIA card. He passed my movies for trade back rudely and told me pawn laws require an ID or no trade in a very pissed off tone. I said oh okay, no attitude whatsoever, and didn't even get a "have a good night" or anything. Just a roll of the eyes as I left from him as if he thought I was purposely coming in there without an ID. All I ask for is nice and polite customer service.

There are a handful of zia record stores in the valley but I have to say this is probably my favorite location! This location has a lot of everything and the staff is always helpful and knowledgeable and very friendly which I cannot say is the truth for some of the other stores! I always come back to this location! Hell one of my personal favorite details is that the hip hop vinyl section is on the top which is such a plus for me since some of the other locations have it on the floor and being a little on the plus side, it’s definitely helpful, yadidaimean!

Great place to buy used CDs. The large selection means they usually have what you're looking for. Sometimes compilation CDs, like greatest hits albums, can be a bit pricey for a used CD, but generally it's cheaper than Bookman's. My home away from home. Never have issues with staff, if they don't have it they will get it. Most of my movies and music comes from this store. They even have the ultra rare and hard to find stuff. Sure alot of its used but they never take in crappy or messed up products. I've been going to Zia since I was 10 and plan to die there in the middle of the metal section. The live music performances they have are always awesome and a welcome change of scenery from other stores. That one person who claims they had issues with them, probably gives negative reviews to try and get free stuff.

Zia also does a movie night every month in a amazing movie theater, they call it cult classics, last I went I got to see ghost busters on the big screen, and the theater it's in is the awesome theater with life like wax figures and movie scenes everywhere in the theater, I highly recommend going and watching ur favorite oldschool movie on the big screen A++ in my book

My absolute favorite place. I love going here weekly to expand my CD collection, as the selection is superb. Being a member is also good because the reward system actually helps. Would highly recommend.

I really like all of the employees buuut feel a little ripped of in trade value. For example I sold a BLU ray movie for 3 dollars and found the exact same one that I sold for 9 dollars I know because I marked the box to check it out

The staff at Zia's is always very helpful. I went in looking for a very specific item. Keith looked it up, found they didn't have it in stock but saw that other Valley locations did and called one of the other Valley locations to have the item sent over to the Thunderbird store. Now that's customer service!! The ONLY bad thing about Zia Records is they have just too much cool stuff and you will find things that you CANNOT live without! Be prepared to spend a lot of time and definitely some coin!! LOL

Zia has a lot more swag than I remembered, but it's been years since I went there before. There are tons of new and used CDs, DVDs, and BluRay, including a massive anime selection (for a retail store). The staff was helpful and attentive. I would definitely go here for your movie, music, and nerd swag needs.

This place is great to get cds and movies new or used. I went there this last weekend to buy a cd. They didnt have it in stock but the associate said they could put me on the list and call me as soon as it comes in. He did exactly what he said he would do. Very professional. Ill be returning to buy more.
