This is a great store! It was very clean, organized and welcoming. They are still going strong with Covid practices in place, which we appreciate, especially testing out and playing musical instruments.. The customer service was excellent. Everyone there was super cool and easy to talk to. We worked specifically with Nick, who was awesome! He was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and beyond helpful. We ended up buying a guitar and amp from him. We are very appreciative for the hard work from all of you. It was really busy when we first got there, and they checked customers out like a fine tuned oil machine and managed to help people on the floor as well.. 10 stars for Nick. We appreciate you! 🤘🎸

This Guitar Center is my go-to for my playing needs. This location is nearly in the middle of town(Greater Phoenix Area), it sits next to the I-17 and the Metro Center Mall. You can't wait for someone to come up to you and offer assistance, as most people go into the store just to "play with the toys" with no interest (no money) of buying, which I understand, most equipment worth owning is....well, expensive. But if music is your passion, the employees are quite knowledgeable about the equipment and the industry!!!

Love Guitar Center, just bought a new guitar and other equipment but the location on Peoria and I17 is very unwelcoming. Nobody greets you, big guy in the keyboard area was very unresponsive and acted like I wanted to steal or something. Just not very good customer service

I went to guitar center last night to pick up a guitar and start playing again. Joseph was very helpful he guided me and assisted me as I had to get all the equipment to start playing again. I am happy with the service Joseph provided. He was very knowledgeable and wasn’t pushy on anything. I was able to find what I wanted and was out within the hour. I recently purchased a high end 12-string guitar at this location. After receiving an email saying the order would be delayed, I called the store. Lindsey , one of the store managers, canceled my order and found the only other Taylor 652 Builders Edition Guitar in the country and had it delivered to her store. She went above and beyond for me. Super cool and a lot of amenities! Lessons, guitars, pianos, and a lot of interesting things. Highly suggest visiting! Though they should really turn down their PA/Intercom system. It's absolutely deafening particularly in the piano section.

I love going into the acoustic room here as there is a large selection of six and 12 string guitars along with bass acoustic. We needed some reeds for a clarinet and they were here. We then played around with drums. It's a great place to stimulate the musical senses of any human being. The staff was helpful and there's tons of variety and selection.

Just went to pick up some new guitar strings and picks. I didn't know that there is a youngster that is a guitar tech that knows just about all there is to know about a Axe. He clued me in on prices to get my guitar thats in great need of a complete restoration new pick ups, bridge, new neck, the youngster does it all really impressive store. Peoria and twenty something Ave just west of interstate 17.

As a novice.....really beginner.....ok no idea what I'm doing guitar player, I was really happy with the staff here. When I decided to buy my own acoustic guitar to start my journey, they answered every question I had and helped me make a great decision without trying to oversell me. At one point the gentleman actually said..." I will sell you that guitar but for your experience level you wont be able to tell the difference between that and the one thats $300 less." I can appreciate that honesty. He could have taken advantage of me and didn't, so now they have a customer for life. Thank you!

I took my teenage son here to have his guitar tuned. The gentleman who tuned the guitar was very friendly. We walked around the store for about ten minutes while the guitar was being tuned. The store has an impressive amount of guitars, drums, and keyboards. They also have any accessories you could possibly need for your instrument. We will definitely return to this store in the future.

I was looking online for a GT-1 guitar multi-pedal processor. Only Guitar Center had it in stock, and the price was better than online. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable! They made sure I didn't walk out of there without a power supply ( it doesn't come with it). Very Happy!!!!

Guitar Center staff were super nice and helpful! I ordered a Gibson guitar online and the website didn't explain that the guitar came with a peg that was not installed. I was terrified at the thought of drilling a hole into the guitar, and when I called Guitar Center Phoenix they said to bring it in and they would get it done. Lindsey and Riley (who drilled the hole, brave soul) were both very helpful and offered great customer service. Thank you so much! :)

I love having music stores where you can try out instruments and amps. That said, it would be great if the store provided better service. It's easy to be ignored. Also there always seem to be a bunch of kids playing the acoustics for long periods with no intention of buying. Makes it hard to make a buying decision under those circumstances. Still, better than buying online, sight unseen usually.

Honestly, there's no better place in the world. Guitar Center has so many guitars, bass guitars, drums, pianos and djs on display you can play and test. It's like playing in luxury, with a wide amount of instruments you could play. Amazing, staff is amazing too, so helpful and chill. Whoever had the idea of guitar center, I love you and you're a genius. 11/10

I shipped my acoustic out from New York and now have a pretty bad 14th fret buzz. Staff was super helpful in letting me know immediately that it's a humidity problem. Sent me off with a 10 dollar humidifier remedy without trying to upsale me with uneeded repairs. Great staff, great service, and I'll be sure to come back with all my new Arizona musical shopping.

The place is awesome they're awesome why waste your time driving all around not to find anything that's really better priced. people are really helpful. Sat. June 4, 6pm. I came here with an unusual instrument: U-Bass, small bass guitar. Wooden. Looks like a ukulele, but strung like & sounds like a bass. I’m new to bass, and had many questions. This one (bought online elsewhere) came with rubber strings. I wasn’t sure if it would be better to get them re-strung with metal strings. Since it’s a electric-acoustic fusion, I wasn’t sure if maybe I should be using metal strings, so that when I’m playing my [other] standard electric bass, I would have a uniformed feeling Btwn the 2 of them… I’d bought this Uke-Bass, bc I’ll be temporarily living in the wilderness; wanted something small/ lightweight to bring & to keep up the practice, which doesn’t need to have the bulky amp carried along with it. So… anyways. I came here, thinking I’d better string this with metal strings. Which idk how to do myself. Dallas was the technician who helped me, and he couldn’t have done a better job — in my opinion. He answered all of my questions (there were a LOT of them. Lol) as I admitted I’m new to all of this. He didn’t at all talk down to me, but at the same time I’m fully confident this is a true expert working this position here. He explained the main differences btwn the typical metal/ electric bass guitar (which is what I also have at home, the one I didn’t bring) .. and showed me everything I needed to know, about the details of various material in the strings. He tried it, played around on it, bc I was wondering, “How much quality of a Uke-bass did I just buy, anyways?” Lol! I’m so excited to keep practicing with my 2 instruments, after he assured me it’s not as necessary as I’d assumed, to get it re-strung (bc honestly I wasn’t sure).. but that he/ their team would be happy to offer the service if I changed my mind. THANK YOU — for offering exactly what I was looking for & MORE! —McKenzie. Highly recommend this location.

I love Guitar Center! I just recently bought a Les Paul Studio Ttibute, along with a brand new EVH 5150 40 watt tube combo, and I cannot say enough great things about them. Wall y at the Guitar Center in Phoenix helped me with everything, putting them together. He did a great job! My only complaint was that everyone else beat me to the Boss pedals I had on my Christmas shopping list.🤪 But, I was able to order the ones my son wanted.👍

The guy at the front desk was very friendly, patient and informative. He seemed very knowledgeable, and saved me money from buying something that wasn't necessary. It's very rare to find people so willing to stop what they're doing and genuinely help you. As I browsed the store I was asked very politey a couple more times if I needed any help. Everyone in the store had a very "laid back" demeanor, but also professional. I would highly recommend this store for your musical needs. I also noticed you can test everything. And everyone is willing to show you how to use everything. Nothing is rushed.

Their offer on my amp was about $15 less than what I figured I could pocket if I sold it on Reverb. Don't get me wrong, Guitar Center is awesome. And I know that they were busy when we were in there, but we waited over 30min to get help purchasing a new controller. And we would have had to wait longer, but we went and tracked down an employee to help us cash out. And it wasn't the poor guy all alone in the Pro Audio section's fault, he called asking for someone to come and help out in that section several times over the PA, but no employees came over to help him. So I'm thinking maybe this location needs more employees - at least on the weekends - or they need to talk to the ones that they have currently. Either way, it shouldn't take over a half an hour to get help buying something. Just my two cents.

Guitar Center can be pretty hit or miss, but trust me when I say this is one of the great ones. The new management really seems to have made this a great store. Whenever I am in Arizona, will always come here regardless of how far out of the way it may be. The people who work here are really great people and musicians just like us and they actually care. Austin is a truly awesome guitar tech and he is fantastic at what he does and incredibly passionate and it shows in his work. I would trust him with my instruments any day of the week. Believe me when I say this is the best guitar store in Phoenix. Everyone who works here is really great and it makes it a joy to come in these days. If you had any negative experience in the past, give them another chance as the new management is great and I'm glad I came back in. Thanks for everything guys!

Sean helped me out and he was very friendly and knowledgeable. He gave me a fair price on a trade in and gave me some of his advice increase my options. He also ordered the guitar I want due to it being on backorder and the wait time is anywhere from 3 weeks to 8 months that way I don't have to pay for it how and wait I can just purchase once they are back in stock. Plus they have always been on top of being safe during covid-19 making sure everyone was wearing masks when not required and even passed out k95. First I've seen of any store in the beginning.

An electric guitar was listed online as available. There was a bit of confusion locating it at the Scottsdale store. I happened to notice it on a stand (not near the retail area, more towards repair area). It turned out it actually was a returned item. In the acoustic area at least 3 guitars I tried which were over $500 (pretty significant investment) had major issues with multiple strings just rattling (broken plate under bridge?). I brought one, a Martin, out to a rep on the floor and pointed it out. The reps were all super nice, but I was shocked that he already knew about these issues. Why the hell would you display a musical instrument that is unplayable? That's freaking maddening given some people use a good amount of resources to make special trips to these stores to assess something that's going to mean a great deal to them! 😠

I love Guitar Center and have shopped at several locations before. Normally I know exactly what I am going there for and have never needed to ask for help. This last time I actually did need some guidance because I was shopping for a gift and wasn't familiar. There honestly wasn't a lot of staff around so I had to kind of search for them! I left with what I came for though so overall it was good.

Great place to find your Music making needs. I think they need work on speed in cashing out customers. Sometimes you can wait 18 minutes to 30 minutes in line to cash out. The guitar service people are multitasking at 100%. I believe there should be one customer rep, that's there only job is to cash people out. The rest of the staff can help people with questions w equipment.

They sent me to the tech named Austin and he fixed everything 100% we didn't even have to use my Pro coverage. I love Jesus God is awesome and favor the Lord. Customer Service was pretty poor but product selection is always great. If you know what you need...no worries. I was helped by Noah and had an awesome buying experience. The stores inventory is amazing first of all, but it is the customer service that I received that will definitely have me coming back when I need more instruments.

nice selection of guitars and equipment. Their Gear Card with no interest is great for purchases but make sure to pay it off before your time runs out and interest kicks in. Biggest complaint is I often stand at the counter to buy something and no one shows up. There are long spans of time where you can't get help or find anyone at this store.

I love guitar center I just do. But this place .. eehhh, not so, if you'd love to come in hopefully to start a new hobby in music don't come here. There is hardly anyone to help around, you wait forever for someone to be available and you just see them walking to and fro apparently too busy to at least acknowledge you and tell you they'll find and associate for you, don't expect such courtesy. I have been here several times and my experience is always the same.

All of the people working there are friendly and helpful, including Michelle the receptionist and manager. Her teacher, Michael, is very patient and encouraging. This guitar center was mediocre. I walked in and immediately wasn't greeted. I walked over to the drumming area and no one helped me. I walked over to the piano section on the opposite side of the store, and played the pianos for a good 30 minutes. After a very long time of no employee checking in, asking how I was doing. I left because I wasn't in there for any particular reason other than to see customer service and look at prices.

I came to Phoenix recently for the funeral of my best friend and ended up needing some sound equipment for the service. I asked Scott for some help and he spent about 30 minutes helping me find everything I needed and didn’t try and stiff me either with trying to get me to buy the most expensive items or any unnecessary stuff. 10/10 would go back anytime, great experience.

Being a musician myself, a dozen or more great things can be spoken about the Guitar Center. The building is situated almost in a corner, cant believe I nearly missed it. Guitar Center has made great strides to improve their customer service. It is a little challenging when they are busy on a weekend to pick up some strings as the accessories and guitar departs are one in the same, and never seem to have enough people to help those who actually want to buy. To be fair, most of them are on the phone answering questions while others wait with merch in their hands. However, when you do wrangle a sales rep, they are usually super cool and very helpful. Regardless of my criticism, I will be back for consumables, but usually purchase online..less hassle.

Yesterday I put an electric guitar and amp on layaway. Jake in pro audio went above and beyond to find me what I wanted (and in my price range!) Hands down the best employee they have in the building. I have nothing bad to say about him. Today however I went in to pay the rest of my balance and pick up my gear. No exaggeration, I had the absolute worst experience. Jerry in pro audio leaned my guitar against a smooth surface, which caused it to slide and crash onto the ground, and then tried to blame me saying I pushed the box next to the guitar. I was nowhere near the box, let alone the guitar. He then became annoyed when I asked to see the guitar to make sure nothing happened to it. I then asked him if I could leave my things behind the counter so I could look around and he acted like I asked him to give me his first born. After paying I asked what his name was (he was not wearing a name tag) to which he mumbled "Jerry" with an irritated tone. I asked him to repeat himself because I couldnt understand what he said, and then he asked me why in a short defensive tone. I said I just wanted to know what his name was, I always ask the name of who helped me. I then asked if there was a problem to which he replied "I can ask questions too!". I spoke with the manager scott who informed me that a customer had yelled at him today, which is why he acted so innapropriately. Scott was sincere in his apology, however in all of the customer service jobs I have worked (even worked at Sam ash for a bit) I have never taken my frustrations out on a customer that was not even involved in the previous conflict. I didnt do anything to the guy and did not deserve to be treated so poorly. His behavior was absolutely inexcusable. So if you're going to this guitar center, ask for Jake. He was absolutely fantastic. But if a man named Jerry helps you out, run the other way because you're going to have a terrible experience. Or at least pray that nobody has irritated him yet that day. If I return to this store, itll solely be because of the immense help that Jake was yesterday. Hes the only reason I'm giving them 3 stars. If today has been my first experience with the store, I would have walked out.

The tech is the go-to guy, God, guru and the only one worth talking to unless you want to spend $9 on 6 plastc Jonas Bros guitar picks made in china that GC paid .60 cents for.if you're reading this in any of it chimes in as something youve even remotely experienced, please suck up the three-day wait, bite from a mom-and-pop shop on Amazon and save yourself a lot of money and having to deal with the Justin Bieber haircut dude that is everywhere at GC.

I came in today as I broke my string from ignorance on tuning, Nate assisted on showing me how to thread the string and what to avoid and some tips on making sure it’s right. Also upon looking at my guitar he knew my truss rod was off and suggested to go to Brian to fix it.. Brian took care of me along with giving me tips on what to look for when it is out of adjustment and allowed me to watch and teach me a thing or two! What happened to carrying high end instruments and quality service/control?!? I like this GC. I would give GC in general a 3 star review for prices and the hit or miss knowledge of the average sales person. That being said GC Phoenix and Wally in particular is great plus 9pm close and they are totally fine with me side-by-side comparing a 63 and 65 fender reissue and everything else in the place even when i'm only buying strings.

good guitars, but not always set up to a playable point. The other day I walked in to test some guitars that I was interested in. I tried 3 acoustics, and none of them could play past the 7th fret. I found an electric that I thought would sound great, but that got even worse. And then I picked up another electric that I was very interested in getting in the future. The electronics were damaged and the bridge pickup was cutting out. If I walk into a guitar shop, and the guitar I want to buy doesn't work, then I can't buy it. I believe that guitar center could be better by keeping the insttuments in better shape. They would sell a lot more guitars.
