The gentleman was kind, helpful & provided the most beautiful instrument for me to rent on short notice. Payment was easy. Amesquita was recommended to me by OAYO, and now I would 100% recommend too!

Cy rented an upright bass to me at a good price and even specially set it up to my specifications. Very nice guy, skillful luthier, and great service. Thanks!

Needed a rental cello in a hurry- and Cy came through! It's a beginner cello for a brand new musician, but Cy took the time to set it up and tune it like I was auditioning for the Chicago Symphony. Pricing was a pleasant surprise, and lower than what I could rent at two other 'big' music stores in town. Highly recommend Cy and his services! He loves what he does and it shows with the pride and effort he puts into his business.

Simply incredible work! Cy is a luthier of top quality who attentively cares to the needs and desires of his customers. Have taken my cello here many times and have never been disappointed. Highly recommend !

I couldn't be happier with Cy's skillful repair and refinishing work on my 100+ year old violin - the difference in the before and after photos is stunning. Add to this the pleasure in seeing the passion he has for his work - I'd give him six stars if I could.

I had found Cy on Google and made my first appointment to have my 7 year old son fitted for a violin. As my 3 boys and I approached the house, I knocked on the big arched door not even sure I was at the right place. The door slowly opened and there stood Cy adorned in his violin workshop apron. At first sight, I knew this wasn't some franchise music store. We walked in on creaky wood floors and sat on the couch with violins pouring in around us. This was the real deal. There was a knock at the door. It was another customer. Cy was very polite and asked if he could help them before getting us fitted. I obliged and sat there trying to contain my crew of 7, 5, and 3 year old little men. Cy went around the corner and came back holding the oldest violin I'd ever seen. It was a 300 year old German violin. Cy and the other customer talked about the A or the E string for awhile and then the customer began to play. It was literally the most beautiful music I'd ever heard. I looked around the room searching for other instruments that seemed to be playing along with the violin but there weren't any other instruments playing. All of this angelic music was coming from the violin. You know those rare moments in life where you just stop and take it in? This was one of those moments. The music tickled my ears and my soul. I was mesmerized. Then he was done playing, satisfied with Cy's repair, packed up and went on his way. Cy then proceeded to measure my son and get him perfectly fitted with one of the many violins that surrounded us. The rental process was a breeze and my son walked out with a very nice violin. I can't wait to go back.

I recently had a very nice experience at Amesquita Violins. I am an adult beginner, and came in looking for a shoulder rest. Cy fitted me with a nice shoulder rest, made an adjustment to my chin rest and now everthing fits perfectly. Cy also found a nice bow, and even tried it out then switched to another one that had a richer sound but was still in the same price range. He is a skilled luthier, very pleasant to work with and really puts you at ease. I live out of town and will gladly drive the 100 miles to this shop even though we have music stores nearby . Debit cards are accepted, there was no consultation fee for my needs and I thought the prices were very reasonable. IMPORTANT: Be sure to call for an appointment! This business is run by appointment only and not by the hours stated on the internet. It is not a "regular" walk in retail shop. Do not hesitate to call, you will receive great service and uninterrupted attention! I will be back! 😺🎻🎶

I went to Cy on a recommendation from my daughter's cello instructor. Though my daughter only plays for enjoyment, he took our needs as seriously as he would a much more dedicated and/or talented musician. He listened to us, taking our music goals and budget into consideration, and set my daughter up with a fantastic instrument! He's just wonderful to work with, and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a really good-quality instrument that can be serviced properly by the vendor as well as individualized attention. He really wants to make sure you wind up with the right instrument for YOU!

Cy is a really professional, passionate and patient person. You can easily notice that he knows what he is doing. I definitely trust him since the fist time I went to his shop.
Go and visit him, you will have a great experience.

We've gone to him for two violins now and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I'm shorter than the average adult and he took the time to help me get the right size instrument. He is friendly and professional and the customer service is great. The violins are priced lower than I've found anywhere else locally without sacrificing on quality. I will definitely buy from him again even if we move out of state.

Cy was able to help me to find a lovely new viola bow, and suggested some modifications to my sound post to improve the sound quality, projection and responsiveness of my viola. He was very knowledgable and helpful with the entire process. I will definitely be back!

Very helpful in my last minute (thanks to my nine year old informing me that she needed things for the next day!) scramble to get the needed supplies on a holiday.

I had a great experience at Amesquita Violins! I have had a few repairs done as well as purchasing an instrument. I was very pleased with the work done on my instrument and greatly appreciated the personal customer service at this business. I would recommend going here for repairs for your instruments and there is also a lot of great new instruments or bows to try out!

So glad I trusted my gut when going to see Cy from his website. He gets a big Bravissimo!! from me for his work on my "Baby" (bass violin).
