As a small business owner I find reviews often frustrating. I rarely leave reviews unless something was really wrong or something was really great. I had a great experience at Rawsons that I feel really compelled to share. I am 63 and have played around on the guitar since I was 16 but never ever really played anything other than a basic C,G and D. So last year I started a journey to actually learn the guitar. I have taken private lessons and internet lessons and am getting better. The problem is I have fat short fingers with carpal tunnel in my left hand. I own a Seagull flaming maple performer with a 1.8 nut and it plays great but still difficult for me to fret some chords. I started a search for the perfect guitar. I looked at Zager because of their claims as a easy play and a few other brands hoping to find a good guitar. I called James who had set-up my Seagull and sold me strings and asked him about Zager. After discussing my situation with him he said come in I have the perfect/easiest to play guitar on the market. So I went in and he started showing me a couple of Martin guitars. He had a GPC16E in stock and he handed it to me. I sat down and played it as well as a couple of other Martin guitars. I settled on the GPC quickly. He gave me a really good deal and I went home. I have owned this guitar for a month now and my playing has gotten so much easier due to the guitar. I did some research on the guitar after buying it which is probably opposite of how you should do it but James was spot on and the guitar is perfect for me based on my needs. James is so trustworthy and I appreciate his help and advice. Rawson has earned my trust and I highly recommend James and his shop for any musical needs you may have.............

James (owner) is a great guy and is very knowledgeable and helpful, as well as the staff I've been around. I would much rather support a locally owned business than a giant chain or on line! You also get great service and help after you make your purchase, and you can develop a good rapport with them and it feels more like a family! I would highly recommend them. Small store, but they always seem to have what I'm looking for. I know Amazon can often beat the price for certain things, but you lose a lot by not supporting stores like Rawson. The staff is knowledgeable and will always help you find what you're looking for. Please come here and show this store some love even if it's just for guitar strings or drum sticks (they have great prices on Evans drumheads as well 👍)

This store has the best selection of ukuleles to test in the metro area, and they are all out where shoppers can test them. I wish they had a bigger selection of solid wood models, but there might not be enough demand to stock them. I brought in a guitar to inquire about repairs, and the owner was honest about what he was capable of doing and recommended I take it to another shop since the necessary repairs were beyond what he does. I appreciated his honesty. The staff is friendly and doesn't mind if I browse the ukuleles, even if I only intend to buy strings. This is a great place to try out ukuleles and see which fits you best!

The place is awesome inside! It looks small on the outside but surprises you when you walk in. The selection of guitars in my opinion as good or even better than guitar center. I didn't price shop very much but I did notice that the guitar strings were a little more than guitar center but hey I didn't have to go all the way across town so it evened out. I did get a very inexpensive slide that I've never even seen at guitar center. The staff was okay, one youngster offered assistance and we talked about a new Peavey auto tune guitar (that I also never seen at G.C.). The old guy behind the counter wasn't rude but not really friendly either. No complaints really though.

I have continually visited over the years, often times making this my go to for strings, straps, etc.. Customer service is amazing. Everyone there is really knowledgeable and very personable. They have a wide variety of music essentials from strings and cords to full audio systems. Wonderful selection of great priced new and used guitars, pianos, drum kits and music accessories. Bought a Martin GCPA4 for a reasonable price. It was in "new" condition and rock solidly stable (not always the case when shopping at "big box" guitar stores). The customer service was personal and personable. I live 200 miles away and will drop by every time I'm in town. When I talked to them about some issues I was having with my Gibson Les Paul (bought at said "big box" store) they were more than happy to offer suggestions and work with me to resolve those issues. Even though I had it done at a local luthier, they never balked and their pricing was better than that by the store from which I bought it.

The staff is helpful and patient. I called for information about what they carry and they've been very helpful and patient on the phone with me. Then I was there in store for roughly half an hour browsing their wares for further things. They carry lots of guitars in store, and occasionally you'll find gems. Check out their shelf of second hand items that may interest you. Ask for their specials and sale.

This is THE BEST music shop in Oklahoma. Rawson's has been selling guitars for a very long time. The owner and staff are super friendly and helpful, and they're there to make sure you are satisfied with your purchase, not just sell you guitars and send you on your way. If they don't have what you need, they can usually get it quick.

Definitely my favorite guitar shop in town! Knowledgeable and helpful staff, but that's not the best part. Most guitar stores you go into will turn their noses up at you when you're on a budget. They'll tell you that you won't REALLY be able to get a decent guitar for the price you're trying to spend, but if you'll purchase this really expensive gear over HERE, THEN you'll really get the sound you're looking for. The reason I've shopped at Rawson for five years now, and the reason I send all my friends there, is that no matter your budget, you're going to be treated with respect, and they're going to help you find a quality instrument.

Nice local shop who are VERY quick with repairs. They can be a tad snobbish about your gear. I came in to have the nut on my Epiphone SG repaired. It was chipped on the corner, not enough for the string to slip, but enough that I wanted it fixed. He kinda acted like it was fine and not worth the $30 to replace it since I had a cheap guitar. He ended up patching it for $15 which was fine but I do wish it looked better. They're prices are good, they have a decent selection fit the size of their store and the owner REALLY knows his stuff. Just expect a degree of snootiness if you're dealing with guitars under $500.

Rawson music is OKC's longest open music shop. They've got a decent selection of guitars and equipment. I went to buy a Tonewood Amp and it is AMAZING. Cool staff who can usually answer any questions about what you need.
