Chip, Adam and others working there are awesome and part of the old school, do right by customers group (sadly few and far inbetween now). I wish them success and I hope they stay there for a long time to come. I thoroughly enjoyed dealing with them and very fair in the prices they offered to buy/sell and it was a pleasure watching young people come in, browse, pick and buy music that will no doubt build long term and hopefully wonderful memories for them. Kudos to Tunes, Hoboken!

Back in the day, I was devastated when Pier Platters closed here in Hoboken. But the arrival of Tunes made everything OK. As so many other record stores have fallen by the wayside, Tunes has survived and thrived. This is due in no small part to owner Chip's acumen and knowledge of his customers' needs, such as the increased supply of new and used vinyl. The staff has always been very knowledgeable and friendly. Tunes carries on the proud music tradition here in town.

The store itself has always been nicely kept, well stocked, and has a great staff, but unable to make the trip there during the pandemic, I've opted to support the store from a distance by buying my music through their website. Purchasing music through the site is a bad experience though, and has consistently alarmed my anti-virus software. When contacting online support, I've afterwards received unsolicited emails from outside services. This store is a legitimate business, and I like to hope that legitimacy extends to their online service, but it so far hasn't struck as reliable or secure

Whenever I go here the staff are always helpful and friendly. However today the old man who works there was cranky towards us for no reason, maybe because we asked for a discount when they handed us a poster with rips. The other guy that works with him was super nice and helpful though!

Took my kids here my 13 yr old started collecting vinyl. You could easily spend an afternoon here. Smallish shop but, so much to look at. They have all kinds of cool merch and a great selection of vinyl, CDs, and DVDs. Great little store. We'll be back.

I came in to sell some DVD boxed sets of some TV show. The owner was really friendly and accommodating, welcoming me to his store and introducing himself. After he went to the back and checked my stuff he offered me $5 more than the place I usually go!! I took the deal of course, but while waiting for him I browsed the store and saw quite a few items I was interested in and the price marked on the movies was real reasonable. I'll definitely be coming in again, this time to purchase the wrestling DVD's I was looking at!!

I love this place. They have a fantastic "New Arrival" section that gets updated very frequently and cost between $8-10. Also, whoever said this place is expensive is insane. Because outside of the new arrival section, they have Blues, Jazz, Rock, Soul vinyls that go for $2 and are in great condition. Not to mention you can look in the barrels of older stuff that's just $1. (I found the entire Last Waltz concert in there for $1 in relatively good condition). This place has great prices and a great selection. I went to two NYC record shops to find albums for $30 new and came to Tunes to find those same albums used for $8 and work fantastic. Love this place and will be back again. And again and again.

Fast and friendly service! I dropped a whole suitcase of used DVDs off when they opened and was able to go back that evening to pick up the money and my bag. Pay out on used DVDs isn't much but I had already checked around and pay out was basically the same even online. Thanks Tunes!

Been a sometime customer here since 2007. If you have a working turntable or cassette player or a walkman, you may very well find what you're looking for here. Personally would rather have newer, better technologies like we have. Nonetheless, an advantage here, over nostalgia: If you truly dig an artist or group, you can't overdo your data plan's streaming allocation. Worth the trip here.

A great place to buy dvds new and used, cds new and used and albums used. If you are looking for a dvd, cd, or album let them know amd they will try to get it for you. At times they will have a special sale and items are price to sell. They had one the weekend of January 26 and 27 a group of dvds a dollar each or 3 for 5 dollars. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The only drawback is the parking. All of Hoboken is hatd to park.

Ok i love me this place. It run by a gammit of folk, young and old, mixed up like, but all super super super helpful. And if u lookin for throwbacks like vinal records or the recently obsolete cds, they buy and trade. They got the an excellent collection of series like walkin dead, game of thrones, family guy...etc. both reg disc and blue ray. Hmm...i like tunes.
