Good sales staff, called before hiking from NY to this NJ store. Picked up a little Fender G-DEC junior amp, used, for home practice, good buy.

My go to shop for guitars and accessories. Store is run by musicians of all genres who really know the instruments. This includes guitars, percussion, keyboards, PA systems, digital and instruction. The huge selection of guitars are the best in the area. They include; Fender, Gibson, Guild, PRS, Martin and others. You'll find everything you need for your band, solo performance or practice in this one location!

Bought an ibanez rg5ex1 used from another guitar center. The trem system was a mess when I got it. I brought it here thinking I was gonna return it. They offered to have their guitar tech look at it. And 10 mins later the trem system was fixed and holding tune solid. He also gave me some pointers on how to tune/change strings because ibanez edge trems can be a little different. Great store with a great tech.

I went to this store rather than the place I usually buy guitars because of the sales and superior selection. I was not disappointed. I got a decent trade-in for my old guitar and thrilled with the beauty in the pic. I still can’t believe I own a Stratocaster! In addition, I was helped by Johnathan and Ryan, who were gracious, knowledgeable and helpful. I will be back! (but not for another guitar!😉)

I came in with no other knowledge other than knowing I needed a 12 inch active speaker for singing and playing guitar for gigs. Antoine was so kind as to spend quite a while with my dad and I explaining the features of each speaker, having really valuable input recommending what he uses as he has personal experience playing gigs. I checked stock online for a specific item and this Guitar Center had it in stock. I was happy that the online stock was correct to the store. They had a great selection of used guitar pedals. I stood around for a while before an employee came over to finally ask if I needed anything from inside the glass display.

I did my homework on buying my first electric guitar before walking into the store. Since I gave the impression I knew what I was doing, I was given the freedom to try any guitar I wanted used or new and had a lot of fun trying a bunch out. Didn't need any hand-holding by staff and took care of me when I was ready to buy. Brian at the store was my go-to there and I thank him for the great buying experience. I bought a new Epiphone Les Paul Standard Pro, a Fender Champion 20 Amp, cable & gig bag.

Had a wonderful experience at this guitar center. Went in to make a return on a guitar, had no issues whatsoever. I wanted to get a fender tele instead, Chris was very helpful and went to make sure they had a brand new one with the color I wanted. Overall great and easy experience.

I came to this place to buy a sound system to work with my Karaoke machine without knowing what to get. Pedro helped me to select a PA speaker and a set of microphones. If you want a knowledgeable & caring 'Instrumental Consultant', run, don't walk, to Guitar Center, and ask for Pedro L. I was there, about a week ago, looking for a guitar, and met with Pedro. Not knowing a lot about guitars, i explained my wants & needs to Pedro. He obviously listened carefully and showed me a few options, in my price range, and explained the pros & cons of each one, in a way I could understand. I also work in the sales field and appreciate when I'm the consumer and my consultant actually listens and cares.

I love this place. You can actually pick up a bass or whatever and start playing. They don't seem to really mark up the prices for anything, so if you go to the websites for the brands the price is the same. Great service, and they are nice there. They can even tune a bass for you if you ask. You're even allowed to bring in your own instrument, plug in, and play. It is an amazing place to go and I never knew it existed.

We've been going to the guitar center for 2 plus years/ weekly, so i've gotten to see everyone in action and each and every person there is super calm and respectful. I have a degree in strategic communication and if there's an issue I'd be the first to say something. I see someone posted a negative comment and that was an interpretation of their interaction, but I can tell you to give them another try. It's natural to give bad reviews, but they have hundreds of other satisfied customers that I see weekly and their stories are never seen. Try signing up for a class! there goes your answer, the demand for this place is high. Highly pleased with service .

I usually have good experiences here, but a couple of years ago I bought an acoustic electric guitar, which developed a buzz, especiallywhenplugged in. I brought it in for a set-up, and the tech was somewhat condescending, suggesting that it was my technique. I paid for the set-up, which didn't fix the problem. Later, I discovered that the problem was that the wires had come loose, and were causing the problem. They couldn't have tested it. We'll see if it gets fixed this time .

It pains me slightly to say that I like this place more than my local mom and pop shop but their inventory is hard to compete with. Also, I have always liked the way they do setups on my guitars.

I met some wonderful people in Guitar Center Springfield NJ that changed my life and I'm still so grateful for them even to this day. My name is Desmond Wedderburn and my story goes, like this. Last year I bought a DJ equipment, a used Denon SC5000M online from a Guitar Center California store and was so excited when I received it. I'm a gospel DJ and Hip Hop pastor that does block parties/street outreaches for the church in my hood in Flatbush Brooklyn, NYC called Word 4 Da Streetz (word4street.com, dezfyah IG). After a few weeks of using it I realized that it an issue updating the firmware, but I wasn't worrying about it then because I had took out a 3yr additional warranty, thank God. About 2 months later I was able to purchase a newer model from a different store online Agiprodj and it was great. When I had tried to update the firmware on both to keep everything current, the used one I bought from Guitar Center still couldn't update so both players couldn't sync or work together. In addition to that, the motor started running slower. So I sent it in for repairs and they could not repair it and gave me back my refund of $900 in the form of a Guitar gift card. This was October 2019. I tried to get my money back without the gift card, they would not do it no matter how hard i tried. I was so heated, and being so upset for days I didn't want to deal with Guitar Center ever again. I had gone from loving Guitar Center to wanting nothing to do with them. Then I called the main online Guitar Center number and tried to see if I could just get a used one as a swap, yet nothing. So here I was stuck with a gift card and can't use this money but only in a guitar center. A week or so had passed I told a friend everything about my situation and also wondering why God would allow this to happen and my friend Glen suggested to go to a local Guitar Center in Springfield NJ near him. At first I told him I was done, but he convinced me to go and it was the best decision I had made. After we prayed we drove there and I went in speak to the manager LAURA and told her my story, and she listened. I was asking her if she could just give me a used one or know any other store that had a used one. She then went to another co-worker PEDRO and he also heard my story and they saw my gift card. They were so moved and felt so bad about what I was going thru that they exchanged it for a new one. Can you imagine that my worst experience became the best experience ever? I was so shocked that Guitar Center really do care about their customers, a lot. I felt like I was having an out of body experience, I was shocked, stunned when I saw them bringing out a new box. Here I was thinking how I spent my hard earned money on a defective item and God was trying to give me a bigger blessing. It was $100 difference, plus another 3yr warranty. I was still surprised, shocked and completely stunned. I've heard stuff like this happening to others but never to me. I started hi-5 and hugging everybody like crazy. Thank you Jesus!!!! Laura and Pedro changed my life that day. They are really good and honest people. There is also another guy there named Antoine, who was so encouraging when i had come to trade in some other items for a Rane 72 mixer. I was Hi-5 him too. I thank God for Pedro, Laura, Antoine of Guitar Center Springfield New Jersey. Guitar Center is now my favorite place to shop because of Laura, Pedro, and Antoine who listened to me and gave me the best experience that year. I thank the Lord for them. I've been a customer at Guitar center for 20yrs since God turned this pastor into a DJ for the streets in the hoods. Laura and Pedro took time to listen to me. I came in that day feeling like an upset and troubled customer and left there feeling like a loved family member. I told my testimony everywhere I went, how Guitar Center Springfield made me a bigger believer in them, and how Laura, Pedro and Antoine were some of the best people I ever met. The youth and community thank you Guitar Center, you are in my prayers always. Blessings Again!!!

Great atmosphere and no pushy salesmen. Only issue I had was volume. When you really want to test the power and continuity of an amp it's hard to do with 20 other people fiddling around with gear. But that's why they have soundproofed booths!

Purchased a Taylor 214ce from this location online and was able to pick it up the next day in store. I received the wrong gig bag with the guitar (soft bag instead of a hard bag) called the store and Laura went above and beyond to correct the issue for me! This isn’t the closest GC to me but they for sure have won over my business and I’ll gladly take the ride and shop here next time I need something.

I first went to the Sam Ash across the road, which had a VERY limited display and selection of headphones, and you had to talk to the guy behind the booth to try them. One of the Pioneer headphones that he gave us to try didn't even work. Coming to Guitar Center was a much better experience -- they had 3 small rows of headphones, and you can try every single one on your own. No need to go through a store representative and ask to try everything. Only bad thing is that there were too few store representatives to customers ratio, so it was hard to find one and nobody asked me if I needed any help. Overall, good selection of headphones from different brands to try on.

I’ve never had a good impression of Guitar Center, especially when I was younger and playing in bands I’d visit my local Guitar Center and always felt like no one wanted me there. This place changes my perception entirely! My wife and I stopped in to buy 2 ukes, she’s never played and instrument and I figured it would be a good place to start. The first available staff person came right over to us and explained in great detail the differences and the pro’s and cons of each style, brand, price point. I feel like we couldn’t have been better informed before making our decision. And despite the total $ value not being significant compared to what others spend there, I felt like we got equal treatment and attention. Overall, best experience I’ve ever had in any music store.

Small items tend to be pricy. Their guitar collection seems to contain a lot of signature guitars - not the place I would reccomend if you want to buy a truly original intrument as there isn't a large selection. I did get a nice deal on pedals when I went there. But as with the instruments, the pedal selection is very generic. I lucked out the day I went and got a good deal on a compressor that was used gear. The compressors that I tried in stock were generic and overall a lower quality.

Staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. I've bought four instruments from here and they've all been fantastic. Sometimes you gotta do some digging to find the right instrument for you but at the end of the day, like a good plug, they've got what you need. Everything is fairly priced, given the convenience, so I would recommend most musicians to go and give it a look. P.S If you're a broke boi you can play the guitars for hours without the staff kicking you out. Just make sure to buy a drink or something when you leave. It's not every day you can shred on a $12,000 guitar.

I bought a Taylor GS mini two weeks ago and I'm a total beginner guitar player. Charles was my salesguy and he was very helpful and friendly, no pressure, no stress. I went on a weekday so that probably helped because they were not busy. GC has long been the go-to for quick support of my bass guitar interests. If I want to shop around and take my time ordering, it's the internet, but if I need it now, then GC it is. This store in Springfield has been my GC for the past several years. On this particular visit, I went in to look for an MXR octave pedal, as the store has always had a good pedal selection and a separate room where I could try them away from the racket of the teenage Slash wannabes. What I found was that the store has been remodeled in the very area that was once pedal heaven. Now it's an area dedicated to private lessons. So gone is a place for buying a bass pedal. It's still a decent store for jamming on different basses for a half an hour; that's what I did. But no pedals, no four stars.
