Reviews of NOLA Mix Records
A super legit record store on Magazine Street in NOLA. They have a turntable you can use for listening which is really cool. They had a live Marvin Gaye record playing when I came in. I found some awesome singles from the 80s and got them for a great price. They have a huge selection and the staff is really helpful! NOLA Mix Records rules.
Iconic store! They have a nice variety of records, merch, and music related gifts. I saw some tiny record earrings that I'll probably go back for at some point. Definitely a must visit if you are in town for a few days.
Very relaxed environment and great selection. Asked for shipping so I didn't have to worry about bringing vinyl home on the plane and got them in a timely manner with a tracking number emailed. Awesome place.
Great selection of vinyl records here and next to some delicious coffee shops.
Large selection of New Orleans sounds. Surprisingly, there were plenty of Latin records (salsa, meringue), which are hard to find even in New York.
If you're an audiophile and vinyl collector, make sure to stop by here on your way to the garden district.
Sure packs a punch for as small as the place is! Stupendous vinyl selection, a rad t shirt rack, and a knowledgeable, friendly staff. Plus any place that sells local musicians' stuff deserves lots of love!
My favorite record shop in Nola. They sell a good selection of records and cassettes at fair prices.
What a fantastic gem of a shop. Lucky enough to stop through here during Jazz Fest. Scored a very rare Record Store Day release and Ben helped me get it shipped to a friend as a gift. Another friend scored a long sought after hip hop 12" and we were impressed with the local releases too. Get some!
This is a fantastic local record store. I stumbled in doing some shopping down Magazine and fell in love with the selection. It may not be a surprise they have a wide collection of NOLA local artists, soul, jazz and R&B--it's much deeper than your average vinyl store. During Jazz Fest weekend, a wonderful Surf Rock band was playing in the back of the space. It brought me in off the street and I of course had to add their LP to my stack. Best part of all: I was able to easily ship all my new treasures home safely for under $10. Much easier and safer than carrying them on a plane. If you're a vinyl collector, you absolutely need to make this part of your NOLA trip.
I am from Dallas Texas. I visited this place while exploring N.O. This was one of the best experiences I had in N.O. The owner was super cool and helped me get a reggae record that is hard to find. They also have one of the coolest N.O. shirts you will ever find. I just the love the vibe of this place and highly recommend you check it out. If you live in N.O. and have not visited, fix your life and go today.
The perfect record shop! Great soul selection and new finds put out frequently as well as many many singles. This place is perfect for djs, collectors, and new vinyl enthusiasts. Owner Ben takes time to connect with guests and help find items suited to their taste and offers up some grade A New Orleans music history and information. The amount of support for local music is evident throughout the shop and in the character of the employees. Store is super organized and priced fairly, be prepared to leave with a stack.
It’s definitely a record shop but also just a superb hang. I look forward to stopping by and throwing on a single or talking with local artists. If they had food I’d probably never leave. Well worth a trip.
Good amount of local acts from the likes of jazz and bounce. Definitely worthwhile if you want a NOLA Mix (haha). They have pretty limited hours also
Super cool spot! Conveniently located uptown. Even though the shop is tiny they’ve always had what I wanted and even sometimes what I didn’t know I wanted! They also host some cool events and DJ workshops. Def worth checking out.
Good variety and great prices. Probably the biggest hip hop selection of all the stores in the city. Also a great spot to pick up slip mats & dj equipment. Friendly staff, and they gave out free beer & coffee at their store anniversary! Would give them 5 stars but some other stores locally have more rare & hard to find original pressings available. Other than that, an awesome store for used vinyl & a hidden Uptown gem!
This is my favorite record shop in all of New Orleans by far! The owner is approachable and passionate about keeping vinyl culture alive! There is a great selection and everything is in beautiful condition. He is a huge supporter of local music as well. He'll often have local musicians offering a live soundtrack and sells local bands' albums as well. I would highly recommend you stop in!
Great Shop, friendly staff. Highly recommended!
Small and limited selection sadly. Had a way better experience browsing the extensive collection at Peaches Records. The good news though is they had the 1 RSD album we wanted that Peaches didn't have!
Nice little record store. Not a big selection, but staff is really cool and helpful.
Great selection of rare cuts and singles no longer in production. Amazing deals to be found in both the $1 album bins and the used DVD box! T-shirt rack is solid as well. Friendly owner down to order and ship anything not currently in stock.
I was over from the UK, great shop. Staff very friendly (everyone I met in this city was!). 45 selection is the main attraction, they've got loads, but I didnt get a chance to dig because my young son was getting restless! Suprisingly good classical LPs rack too.
This record store is an amazing, precious little gem on magazine street and has been instrumental in helping me develop my collection. A nice mixture of classic, local and current music. Ben is also a super hands and will make sure anything you purchase from him is legit. The only one negative is that I can't manage to walk by there without buying anything.
Great local shop, reasonably priced. Good selection of various genres. Make it a point to visit.
Great selection and lots of genres, reasonable prices, and friendly customer service! I highly recommend this awesome shop!
This place is amazing. I already knew of there releases via Instagram, and had plans to check out the shop. When I got to Magazine st I was told by another music lover to “check out the place down the street it has a purple sign, lots of good deals in there” I thought I gotta check out this place too after I go to Nola Mix .. turns out it’s the same place .. ha ha . So many local gems as well as a fair amount of several genres . Definitely a must for the digger
awesome little record story in the LGD. Quality selection. My favorite part about this place is the events they host here sometimes, like hip-hop ciphers with a live DJ!
Excellent selection and great service, they even shipped my records to my home to ensure they would make it safely. Will gladly return if I’m ever back in NOLA!
I'll review this from my son's perspective mostly. I saw many "classic" albums that I grew up with. My son has gotten numerous LP's for listening and for album cover art. He loves the selection and prices.
As a New Orleans DJ, Nola MIx Records, has been an invaluable asset for me. I can always count on having the latest local music as well as a stocked collection of the classics and one off albums.
Ben and his staff keep the store super clean and well organized.
Love this place. Staple in the city for years now a very positive and inclusive environment. Great records , cds , 8tracks , tapes , equipment , and endless music knowledge all in one place.
I recommend any musicians coming through the city to stop here and show some love.
Really strong selection, folks connected to music deeply, very competitive prices locally. Love the size as you can navigate it without being overwhelmed. They can order stuff for you as well.
Cute little record store, great selection, excellent staff who shipped my record for me and dealt with an issue with my address! Check em out
Very warm welcoming and friendly shop. The records had great prices and they were giving out free coffee or beer with an excellent dj. You felt more like you were hanging out in someones house.
One of the best record shops I've been to. Such an amazing collections and when you'll be here the vibe you feel is some thing that attracts me. Good work guys and thanks a lot.
Killer local spot in the LGD. The staff is super knowledgeable and friendly, and the shop has a really unique selection. It's great to have a great shop in the neighborhood where I can kill a couple hours digging through the stacks on a slow afternoon.
Good record store. Excellent selection of local stuff! Turntable and headphones available. Friendly owner!
Cute shop, great selection. The mystery bag is a must-have.
Excellent selection of vinyls and cool merch too. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Nice selection of oldies and world music. Found a few live Lp's that were rare enough and reasonably priced.
Got an old "Woody Guthrie Sings Folk Songs" record for $4. Cool place to find unique albums. 👍 …
NOLA Mix has a great record selection plus all the essentials to clean and care for your vinyl. All around dope experience.
Very cool place! Funky and a lot of good stuff going on there. If you a music fan, a must stop for visiting NOLA!
Small but has depth. Well organized, great prices and good customer service. Found a record I've been looking for quite some time.

Proprietor was super helpful and friendly! Neat shop with a lot of vinyl.
Knowledgeable staff, lots of rare records and an awesome budget bin. One of the best shops in town.
Nice place for those who likes vinyls, good range of styles for great prices.
Usually have what I am looking for. Great source for rare-groove, funk, soul, boogie, rock, vintage and classic hip hop and collectors pieces as well.
Good people over there, family! 👽 …
A well organised, bright shop. Ben and crew always friendly and welcoming. A great afternoon of digging.
Amazing collections!
If you can think of any Album possible, they have it. Felt like a Kid in a Candy Store.
