TLDR: square foot per square foot this is the best record store I've ever been in. THEY GOT THE GOODS, believe it.
This place is not very big. I find massive record stores kind of a pain anyway. I didn't feel like spending 3 hours digging, and at Domino Sound, there's just great stuff jumping out of every nook and cranny. Terrific selections of R&B/Soul, Jazz, Punkrock, Hip Hop and especially impressive collection of African reissues, which they also put out on their own imprint. They also feature a ton of great NOLA music. There is even a section of 45's which had some OG Ethiopian funk--I just had to walk away, I wanted everything.
Dude working was chill but helpful, even offering a couple great suggestions for me. He busted out a card reader and I did pay with a credit card. I think this is new development, so now you have no excuses. Prices, by the way, are from a past time. Several of the records I bought were $13-$15.
An absolutely awesome shop, you gotta hit 'em up.

The atmosphere is amazing. Small shop with a big and various selection. The uncut gems and classics are there. You can experience the used vinyls before buying. This place is for the collectors and gifters and hipsters and yipster.

5 stars for records but disappointed no CDs. CDs are gonna make a comeback you hear me. I wish they had em because I don’t like the shops in nola with CDs as much as I like Domino for vinyl.

One of my top favorite stores in the country and definitely my favorite in NOLA. Cash only.
You’ll find loads of music from across the world and some folk, blues, jazz and rock. I struggle to find original pressings of Middle Eastern music on vinyl & this shop gets that on the regular (full length as well as 45’s). Lots of various regions/nations of Africa are covered. Also lots of reggae goodness.
The store is tucked far away from all the major tourism spots so it’s a laid back environment, you can preview the records and it also has some music-related books.

Favorite rekkid sto in the city. Well curated, fair prices and they're a label too. Only downsides are limited hours, and be warned it's cash only.

Visited every record store in NOLA over the course of a week long visit. This was my favorite. Great selection of punk, rock, hip hop, jazz, soul & more. Best prices in the city. Note that it is cash only — ATM is one block away.

Nice hole in the wall record store, that only sells vinyl records and cassette tapes, has some decent finds. From local selections to international, you might be able to stumble across some good stuff
Triceratops Trexsosaurus
Great selection of international vinyls. Fair prices.

My favorite record/cassette store in New Orleans, and probably the world. Amazing selection of international music organized by country, as well as killer dub and reggae, jazz, punk, hip-hop, classic R&B/soul, Louisiana records, and weirdo rarities. If I've been looking for a record I can't find anywhere, they usually end up having it, and for an incredibly reasonable price. Easily the most affordable record store I've ever been to. Their house-made mixtape cassettes and Domino label releases rule, can't recommend them enough. The best part: You don't have to flip through endless bloated reams of records to find gems. Their selection is truly only good stuff — I have a hard time leaving with less than four or five records each time I go.

Awesome record shop on a gem of a block. Great curation across all genres, with an impressive collection of world music, especially reggae.
Skyler Salinas
One of the best record shops I've ever been to. Extremely well curated with all genres, but I especially love the reggae sections, both 45s and LPs. I have never been to a shop in the states that has such a great and expansive reggae selection. Prices are cheaper than the going rate of any other shop as their motto is "We’re a shop, not a museum, and the records are priced with the idea that we might sell them." Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Go go go

This has quickly become one of my favorite record stores. Great prices, very helpful people, so many different types of music, this is fantastic. Need to make sure you bring cash.
Ori Solomon
Amazing store! Great selection and equally great prices. Found so much rap and hip hop for unbeatable prices! Really had to control myself here, so much to choose from! It is cash only but considering the excellent selection, the more than fair prices, and friendly staff, that shouldn't be a deterrent.

Possibly the best record shop in New Orleans. Perhaps the world? I had the most obscure shopping list going in, and they easily had 98% of what I was looking for. Absolutely gobsmacked by their well curated stock of vinyl.
Eroticmisery
Great selection something for everybody and unbeatable prices. My fav in Nola.
Sara Mamman
Got some great 45s and a new record that i love

I've been to many record stores in the U.S. and even one in Canada. Domino Sound Record Shack is one of the best shops I've been too. The prices are insanely cheap. There are many $10 new issue albums. There was a Dark Side of the Moon there for $6. The shop is hands down organized better than any shop I've been to. If you're reading this and are thinking about going make sure you bring some CASH with you. Sales are cash only.

Looking for some hard to find records? This is a great spot! Prices are fair and they had some fantastic stuff that will really add some depth to your collection. A real treasure!

CASH ONLY. Smaller shop that mostly deals in vinyl. Decent collection of Jazz , soul and indie records. The collection looks hand picked, so you don't have to flip through a bunch of junk to find a treasure.
Shane M.
Awesome little spot for some eclectic crate digging. HUGE Punk selection for such a little store, both new and used 12", and lots of used 7". The only downside is that they are cash only
Adam Lund
Great selection of punk and rock. Found a few Nick Cave and Birthday Party albums that are pretty rare for good prices. Cash only.
Shaun W
Best record store in the US. They have their own releases-cumbia, afro, ethio, new orleans. Other funky gems. In heart of 7th ward. You can't go wrong.
Justin Kray

(Translation) It is a small store but with a good selection of music, you always find pleasant surprises. The neighborhood in which it is located is pleasant to explore on foot.
