Mr. Mel helped me and got me taken care of, cheaper and more friendly than that big box guitar store down the road. I wanted this beautiful Soloist, but was afraid that it would take a few days to get it setup and take home. I was surprised and able to take it home the same day, plays amazing..... think I also found my Semi-hollow body I've been looking for. IYKYK!!

This is your typical mom and pop local guitar shop. Prices are pretty much MSRP on all guitar related items so the deals you get at big box stores on some guitar items might not be available. Where this place shines is the service. I was only there 20 minutes trying out acoustics and 3 sales people asked if I needed help and it seemed genuine. I remember trying out some PRS guitars a few years ago and the experience was the same. They are really interested in the service a guitar player needs when shopping and it doesn't matter if you are a pro or bedroom jammer. Its a great place and a place that always lets you try out whatever gear you want while giving educated input on the guitar or amp of your choice.

Great, great customer experience, and awesome guitars! I ordered a guitar from them, and they shipped it cross-country quick, fast and in a hurry. I ended up calling and speaking with Tim who made sure that I got the best service possible, and he answered all my questions. Top tier customer service and awesome company that I would gladly do business with again.

C&M is one of the best guitar stores I’ve dealt with. I called and spoke with Tim. If you are in the market I highly suggest giving Tim a call. He was extremely knowledgeable and was great answering all my questions before buying my PRS SE custom 24 mark Holcomb. The process was quick and painless. Tim was awesome to deal with and I look forward to buying my next guitar from him even though I live in FL!!!

I’ve spent maybe $100 here in the 5 years I’ve been going but they greet me like family and offer to let me play anything. They have a ton of guitars, and every employee is friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. It’s how a music store should be run.

Everyone was nice and helpful. Walking into the store is a bit overwhelming because of the amount of inventory but that faded away quickly when they had everything I needed and wanted in stock. Prices are competitive as well.

C&M is a great spot for new musical gear in the New Orleans area. Huge selection of guitars, friendly owners, and no hard sell. My first time in the shop, Mel made me feel like an old friend and let me take my time and play every instrument I wanted to. It's clear these guys just want to help folks find the right instrument. If you want to talk to staff who are actually knowledgeable about what they sell, and get great customer service, forget Guitar Center and support this local shop. You won't regret it.

The best place for music equipment in New Orleans, by far. I was in search of a bass and amp, but didn't really know what I wanted and needed to test out some different models. This can sometimes be an intimidating experience at other stores like Guitar Center. At C&M, the entire staff was extremely helpful and gave me the complete freedom to find the exact bass and amp I wanted (it took me almost 3 hours). Alex in particular was great to work with and helped me find the perfect bass and amp combo, which I now happily own.

I've been shopping here since 1997. I am a local DJ who stops by from time to time to upgrade my rig, checking out the latest P.A. gear, stage lighting and accessories. I've seen this store since the beginning when it was a small hole in wall music store originally. Everybody knows me here. I'm always greeted by everyone the second I set foot in the door. The salespeople are very respectful, very knowledgeable and professional. They helped my business in the last 22 years with sound advice. Anytime I encountered a problem such as damaged equipment during shipment, out of box or dead on arrivals, and it's only a rare occasion, it's handled and corrected immediately. While no one is likely to call this store spacious or neat, those aren't generally the goals of a good music store. C&M is packed with everything this non-musician thinks a musician would need. While this visit was successfully focused on a folding keyboard bench, other trips with other goals have been just as productive. From amplifiers to Z-stands, you can find it here, but you might have to do some climbing over other stuff to get it.

I really enjoyed working with Alex and Tim through the whole process of buying my guitar. First of all they had it. These guys keep a really nice inventory. It's very difficult to rate this place being a regular customer of guitar center which is not too far away from this location. This place does have the advantage of very helpful staff however they don't have as extensive of a selection as guitar center but I can't fault them too hard because they don't seem like a large franchise. I definitely give them the benefit of the doubt because they absolutely know how to work with what they have and they're super helpful in every way they possibly can be.
