Killer shop- knowledgeable & approachable. Came in to buy a bass & was reccomened renting first, with my rental payments going towards purchasing the bass (in the first year). This let me make sure I liked what I was buying & I didn't have to gamble with a ton of money that I would love my product. Will come back for sure.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting William's Fine Violins in Nashville looking for a cello to rent. It's a 3-hour drive, each way, for me, so I did a LOT of research and read a ton of reviews before choosing which shops to visit. I am a first-time player and wanted to start off with a high-quality rental until I know enough to make a well-informed purchase decision. Dustin, the owner, helped me all the way through the selection and rental process (which they have made incredibly easy and surprisingly affordable). By the way, they will also credit 100% of your first year's rental fees toward the purchase of a cello or violin. If you are purchasing, and not renting, they have a 100% trade-in/trade-up policy. Check out the details on their site. Their store is GORGEOUS and they have MANY hand-selected violins, violas, cellos and bows. Something for every level of player. There's no doubt in my mind that I chose the right place to begin my cello journey and I look forward to returning to their store one day to find my "cello soulmate", as they say. If you're thinking about it, you owe it to yourself to visit this beautiful shop!

Staff is very friendly and there’s a huge selection of quality fiddles, basses, and cellos. Great stop if you’re in Nashville. Got several violin bows rehaired here, plus some other work, and the quality of workmanship was first rate and incredibly fast!

Williams Fine Violins is excellent! I bought a cello from them today. The selection is amazing and the staff is warm and friendly. The lady at the front desk was super helpful and kind. She helped me get exactly what I needed. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and helped me with an old cello that I need to sell. Again, fantastic experience and highly recommended!

Simply Amazing! Mr. Williams and his staff were incredibly kind, approachable, and knowledgeable. They took the time to discuss the instruments and the fine details that make a difference in sound and playability. Normally the staff at high-end shops like this almost come across as annoyed to be bothered by your presence or condescending. Our experience at Williams Fine Violins was the exact opposite of that. I can't express how helpful, friendly, welcoming, and HONEST Mr. Williams is. The store has a huge amount of inventory in all stringed instruments and a wide range of prices, quality, etc depending on your needs. The prices, to us, were probably on the low side compared to other places we've been. They have rental and trade-in programs that really favors/benefits the customer. What you have here is someone so passionate about music that he goes all out to make that experience and positive as possible for those interested in the craft. Honestly, I could just sit there and watch the staff work. Truly a great place.

Loved the experience! My first time visiting a music store outside of my usual two and it was amazing. The craftsmanship of each instrument was top notch and I loved getting to play and tryout several different violins. The owner was very personable and helpful. I would definitely recommend anyone who plays a stringed instrument to visit this shop if they're in the Nashville area.

We recently sent a bow to be rehaired and weren't happy with the result. I called the shop expecting an unpleasant experience, and could not have been more surprised or delighted. Dustin took great care of us and immediately made us whole, which is all that you can ask. It is so refreshing to work with someone you can trust, especially when it comes to instruments that are so personal and valuable. Our family of seven string players will be back.

As a full-time touring/session cellist, William’s is the only place I trust with my instruments. After my beloved cello was destroyed in an air travel incident (PSA never check your cello unless it’s carbon fiber - it’s never worth the risk), I went to William’s to look for a new instrument. I knew that their selection was small compared to what I was used to (I moved from New England where the shops are much larger) so I wasn’t hopeful that I’d find something there, but all of their instruments have been carefully chosen and are really excellent quality for the price point. I ended up finding an instrument that I loved for much less than I thought I’d have to spend. I’ve also never had a bad re-hair from William’s. If you’re new to the area and need a trustworthy violin shop, William’s is the place to check out!

I needed my bow rehaired after a number of years not playing. When I brought my instrument I had quiet a few questions and Dustin was extremely courteous, patient, and knowledgeable. Not only was the rehair beautifully done, it was faster than expected and more than reasonably priced. I mentioned having an issue with my G-string and he realigned my bridge on the spot that day. I don't think I've ever heard my instrument sound this good. Thanks again!

My child's Suzuki teacher in Clarksville recommended William's to us and we won't go anywhere else since our first visit. The rental process is easy and the instruments are high quality. Each time my child needs to size up because of growing, they show her a variety of violins and allow her to pick which one feels 'right' which makes the process even more special to her and me.

Every time I go in there, everyone is so nice. I even met the owner when he was working on a cello. The first time I went in there, I was surprised at how many instruments they had. Williams is a wonderful place for all your string instrument needs! I went once to upgrade my violin and fell in love with the store. They sell all the string instruments,cases, strings, rosin, metronomes, and more. You can rent or buy. The violins are beautifully crafted in many different looks. Some are more expensive, but the cheaper ones are still beautiful. I know I’m being repetitive about beautiful and string and all those relating words, but it’s just such a wonderful store! I highly recommend! The whole store is string instrument themed and everywhere you look there is something new. And if you are reading this in the pandemic time, then you will be glad to know it is very safe, and you must wash you hands right as you walk in. Thank you William’s fine violins!

Fantastic place. I have been here a few times and they are always very friendly and willing to help me out. They will give you an honest answer and tell you what you need to know about the condition of your instrument. My knowledge of violins is limited but they have helped me a lot with getting to know what to look for when I buy one.

Well known and with an excellent reputation. They don't just serve violins but also they are probably the best place in town for cellos and basses! I went there to help my son find a cello. He's on the edge where he wants something better than a student level cello but can't quite afford the professional level ones. To my surprise they probably had 20+ cellos in the store (which is very rare for most stores) and it was rather easy to figure out which ones were a good match for him. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful of course, as you would expect from such a place, and going there is always a fun experience. I love this shop.

They were cordial and polite. The place is amazingly clean and beautiful. Easy to miss if you are following gps. Parking is limited space.

Great place to go for instrument repair. My viola just needed the sound post reset and the owner had my instrument fixed in a few minutes while I watched. They're moving to a new location on Nolensville Rd around the holidays (2018), so look forward to a much bigger space and more instruments from which to close.
