The Violin Shop is an excellent place to try out a variety of violins as well as get your violin or string instruments repaired. The shop has walls of violins from different makers as well as violins that the shop has altered to create more vibrant sounds. The owner is extremely knowledgeable on the intricacies of altering and repairing violins and is fair in prices. The location is tough as there isn’t enough signage to not miss a turn. Additionally, getting out and back onto the main road is a little difficult.

My son rented the violin from the shop 1 year ago. We decided to buy one using the credit this year. Because we live 4 hours away from the shop, it is hard for me to pick it up. My son's violin teacher called them and they sent two new violins for trial free of charge. Whenever I contacted them by phone and email, the staff were very friendly and patient in answering my questions. Finally, we chose a nice violin and both my son and his teacher were very satisfied. I highly recommend The Violin Shop.

Excellent selection of all string instruments and bows. Very friendly and great luthier work done on premises. Selection varies from student rentals to professional gear. Visit Fred Carpenter, and he will take care of your string instrument needs. You will find the whole crew there VERY PROFESSIONAL !!

It’s always a joy getting to step into The Violin Shop - everyone is helpful and kind, there are always fun fiddles on the wall. Bow rehair club is a great deal for touring fiddle players. Thanks to the great people there.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Violin Shop this past Saturday. What a beautiful place! My appointment was with Fred, who is warm, friendly and very knowledgeable. Their selection of Violins and bows is absolutely stunning. I HIGHLY recommend them!

I needed to rent a violin to begin learning, and this place was recommended by a potential tutor. I walked in to a shop that surrounded me with music and beautiful instruments. The owner said he's been playing since he was 7 years old, and knowledgeably found me the right violin to rent at a very reasonable price. I can't wait to get better so I can come back and buy my own.

The best place for all of my violin needs. Fred Carpenter (in the flesh!) helped me pick out a new/old violin. I absolutely couldn't be more pleased. Definitely worth the 10+ hour trip.

Great place. The staff was so nice to us. My son was in heaven being allowed to play high end violas and violins. They also had fiddles wich are in the picture.

Great place, kind staff, and super helpful & quick with repairs. In less than a day, they re-glued my fingerboard, fitted a bridge / sound post / tailpiece, and it was all very reasonable. In the past, these folks have built me an octave viola and have always spent a ton of time with me answering various questions. Will always go back!
