I have been blowing money on guitars here ever since i got run over in a tiny altima by an 18 wheeler on I40 near Jackson by a guy who was not supposed to be driving for a company but was anyway, resulting in my coming into some money which lasted all of a week I think. Anyway I pawned that guitar a long time ago but this store is great. They are nice and have a good variety of stuff including a few keyboards.

A while back I watched Sterling clean, re-string and setup a used guitar they took in. I was impressed while watching him. So impressed that I took my Fender Stratocaster to him yesterday (11/16/2022) to get it setup and adjusted. It feels great and plays easy. Great store with friendly employees and customers. My next guitar, probable a hollow body Epiphone, will come from Nashville Used & New Music. Thanks again..

In my opinion, this is the best guitar shop on the planet. Johnny Isaacs, and his amazing team of highly knowledgeable guitar people and instrument people or the right place to go for any guitar need you have. They've got great products. Fender, Gretsch, Gibson and Martin.

I love coming to this store!! There's always so many pretty and rare instruments there, it fills my band geek heart with endless joy. The employees are always nice and even let you handle the instruments even if you are not looking to buy anything. One day when I have enough money for more instruments, I will definitely buy one from here. There are also frequent sales, and my family has gotten two alto saxophones and one flute from this store, and they all play great! I wish I could come and visit this store all the time, but unfortunately I live in Clarksville. But whenever we take a trip to Nashville, I always ask, "Can we go to the music store!??" I just love this place so much

This is the place to find your next used guitar, or pedal. Two years ago, I found my current favorite guitar ('66 Harmony Rocket) here by just walking in with a '96 Stratocaster to sell, and I made a deal a few hours later. Great staff and an eclectic selection of gear for all tastes and price ranges.

I went yesterday just to LOOK at a guitar that I've been wanting [the Fender H.E.R. Stratocaster] and they had it, it was soooo pretty, the guys were all very nice and helpful, and they allowed me to purchase through Reverb and pick it up in the store today.!! They also said they would buy the electric guitar that I currently have from me. I'm sooooooo excited to continue my journey to becoming a Rockstar with THIS beauty.

Great local store. I live close and head there whenever I have an in-person need. They've helped with all kinds of guitar needs over the years, with cases, strings, advice, electronics. The staff is knowledgeable. Today I came in with a couple of high E strings that broke immediately from new sets. The lady put two replacements in my hand with little more than light questioning. This is the kind of service you will NEVER get online. Go there for the small and big stuff. They'll stand behind whatever they sell.

I wasn’t expecting much when I came here but I was pleasantly surprised with their vast selection of guitars, pedals, percussion, etc. Staff is also helpful and informative. However, they have what is probably the worst layaway policy I’ve ever heard: $300 minimum, 50% down, and only 30 days to pay off. Aside from that, this is an incredible music store, and one of Nashville’s best.

I have purchased lots of gear accessories from Nashville Used & New Music and the experience has always been great. Recently I purchased two high end guitars and the experience was better than great. Sterling (one of the sales guys) introduced me to a guitar that exceeded all my expectations and it was a pleasure working with him. His approach is more like a friend and fellow musician, not like the typical“chain music store” sales guy. And Chris, the guitar technician, is an absolute pro with a great attitude too! I’m a drummer as well as a guitarist and have enjoyed talking with Matt, in the drum department, who is also knowledgeable, a tight player and all around cool. That’s the vibe of this place. Fellow musicians with a wealth of knowledge and experience, there to help not show it off! You will be glad you gave this place a try when you’re looking to purchase your next used or new gear. Friendly staff and cool selection, but some of their cooler and higher priced guitars could use setups and new strings. A little TLC would go a long way. All were still playable, but I started to understand how they still had some fancy limited-run Fender guitars from a few years back, which I hadn't seen elsewhere before, when I noticed some serious fret buzz issues and strings that were rusting. Definitely check the place out, but make sure you inspect what you're buying.

The purpose of visiting this store was to check out their percussion area. Although I ended up checking out other areas of the store I MUST brag and give KUDOS to the Percussion ROOM. They had everything my son needed. The drummer that runs the room was patient, informative, helpful, professional and FAIR. Patronizing this establishment was WAYYYY better than the non-existent customer service I usually receive at the main stream, big chain music stores. We will definitely be back and can't express our gratitude & appreciation enough for the Percussion Room support!

It's not often I take the time to write a review on a store but in this case I am. This place is an absolute gem! Paul gave me amazing service and spent a good deal of time working with me to help me find my first Martin. I was most impressed with how much care they take in maintaining their inventories condition; this isn't the case with other large guitar dealers. They've won a loyal customer from me. Great prices, great service, excellent products; you can't ask for more!

The employees here are very helpful. I bought a native instruments machine MKII and had some trouble registering the serial number. Once it became clear that I wouldn’t be able to register the SN (rendering the unit unusable) they gave me a full refund. Awesome costumer support and very understanding staff!

I always come here for any musical or vocal need. I love the customer service here. Always top notch and they get me right every time. I would also come here just for some friendly advice, as well. And they won’t charge you for it, either, nor stir you towards any brand in particular unlike other stores *cough cough* Guitar center *cough cough* Also, pretty decent prices. The only thing I hate about this place is the fact that they don’t sell Taylor guitars, my fave brand.

This is the best place in Nashville to buy an instrument. I've been a regular patron now for over 5 years and the folks here never fails to provide excellent guitars and service. The past few months I started really getting back into playing electric guitar again and I've invested at least a few thousand dollars in quality products from here. I have dealt with these guys numerous times and always had a good experience. Recently there was some confusion over the price they put on a used guitar I sold them. I had posted about it publicly just expressing my confusion. Jayme from Nashville Music responded and promised to look into it. As promised he called me the very next day and left me a voicemail. The issue was just an honest mistake and was resolved right away. The store is great and so is the staff. Jayme followed up and that shows they are concerned with doing the right thing or correcting a mistake.

I started shopping here when Tusculum Music closed. They have good selection and decent prices. My only complaint is that the last few times I went, I felt very rushed to make my purchases. I ended up leaving empty handed twice for this reason. The staff usually had no problems with helping me when I would come in with my mom back in the day, however.

This is a great music store, and I've been to a lot! I don't know who's worse among the "anonymous" Google users - the guy who's not grateful that they are the only place that still sells woodwinds in his area (but upset they're not experts) or the guy who begrudges this place making a profit like every other business. I ONLY buy guitars here and they have great service and the best prices. I also feel I've always gotten a reasonable offer on gear I sell here too. They have been in Nashville for as long as I can remember and always make me feel appreciated. I don't usually post reviews but I felt I had to speak up after reading some of the ridiculous complaints lodged here. I love this store.

They've got a very wide selection to purchase, often have sales, and great prices. If you're looking to buy, it's a great place to get a good deal on some good equipment. They'll buy equipment they need, but if you're trying to sell something they're not in need of, you won't get a lot of buck for your bang. Suggestion: If you're just looking to get rid of something - try trading rather than selling, you'll likely get more back that way. Overall, this is a great place and 90% of the employees are super helpful and nice. A couple not-so-much (but if that's the case, just stop talking to that person and find someone else.) Go make some music!

Recently found a not so common guitar ( PRS SE 277 Semi-hollow soapbar baritone/black) that was only made very briefly in this specific color I was looking for. Ive been searching for it for a long time and I finally found one here. I placed an offer on their ad posted on Reverb and it was accepted and immediately taken off the site so I could purchase it. I didn't get paid for a couple more days and they never tried rushing it back onto reverb so they could get a sale. Id explained the situation and I guess they held it for me for another day or so until I got paid and then I snatched her right up. It shipped super fast and after waiting 24 long hours to open it up after recieving it, I finally opened the box only to find a guitar that was much more than I was expecting. As an owner of a solid body version of the same guitar ( PRS SE277 Fire Red-latest model), I had an idea of what to expect, but this guitsr was different. Plays smoother and faster, much lighter than the other and just has this overall beauty to it I cant describe. This color really does make a difference. I like it so much more than the Vintage burst color readily available online. And I got this guitar for a great price. Couldnt ask for a better experience buying a guitar. Their customer service is excellent. I highly recommend this company. I will be happy to purchase from them again.

Shelton did a wonderful job on my almost-30 year old 12-string. He fixed the neck, the frets - gave it a buff - at a REMARKABLE rate. And he was super kind - even put Martin strings on my baby! I'd rate them/him 10 stars if I could. The manager, Costo Davis, was extremely nice & even carried the guitar to the car for me. There's no place like this one.

Always have had a great experience. Went to sell my cymbal and was asking a fair used price for it. Jamie, the drum representative, recognized that it was a fair used price and simply told me they couldn't do that and told me to try to sell on craigslist. He didn't try to lowball me to get the cymbal - he respectfully declined and that's why I'll be returning to Nashville Used Music.

The people at NUNM have always been easy going and good to deal with every time I've gone in, whether I was just looking or buying. That's why they were my first thought when my son asked for a keyboard for his birthday. Pretty good selection of drums, guitars, and keyboards. Some of the items were display only, which I find odd. Other than that, it's a music pawn shop. If you visit often, you might catch a good piece of hardware before they've researched it. I picked up an Alesis kick drum midi trigger that may or may not work that they called a kick practice pad for cheap.

The rice paper rolls were very good with large pieces of shrimp. Our main dishes were full of flavor and the serving sizes were great for the price. Their chili oil is homemade and very very flavorful. The service was fast and attentive.

Nashville used music is the last of the Nolensville Rd music stores. I haven't been here in a while, though they've remodeled recently and have some really cool stuff. The prices can be negotiated, although I passed over the things I came in for. I wound up getting a stand that I needed... The staff here are always cool... They'll give you discount cards for your next trip... It's a shame that this is the only music store left on this side of town... other than Guitar Center... Does anyone remember Tusculum Music or Guitar Heaven... No?... meh... Rock The Free World!!!!

Nashville Used Music is a good place to find some deals in a town with few deals on musical instruments and equipment. On my most recent visit, they had a decent selection of mid-range acoustic guitars (including a 60% off sale on new Washburn acoustics) all at good prices. Ditto on mid-range banjos, though the selection was fairly limited. They had some excellent prices for used-but-good-condition sound board and mixing equipment. Occasionally you see some harder come by items: last week they had a Hammond L-103 electric piano and most notably a Moog Taurus I--and darn cool analog synthesizer and I can't imagine what Nashville band would need one, but there it is. Service was good, but seems to depend on the day of the week--some people know a lot about the instruments and others are just basically cash register clerks. 4 stars instead of 5 because of the lack of diversity in the instruments.
