Awesome staff, great little shop, huge selection. We spent a few hours hanging out and trying everything out before making our selections. Never once were the staff reluctant or snooty in answering questions or letting us hog up an amp room. Really great people and better prices than I was able to find online. The drum and percussion section is a lot smaller than the guitar section, but the employee there was super knowledgeable and their selection of drums, heads, and equipment was surprisingly good. They didn't have the exact heads I was originally looking for, but he talked me through different options and price points and I walked away feeling excellent about my selection. I'll absolutely be back. Good selection, great people, lots of street parking. 💯

Recently, I brought in my Tele for new strings and set up. I was so pleased with the quality of the work I thought I would give them a crack at my Takamine acoustic which has had playability issues. The Takamine now plays like butter (like my Telecaster). The guys at Twin Town are approachable and never make you feel inferior.

Buy your guitars here. They actually set their demo guitars and basses up, unlike another retailer that won’t be named. Their prices are also better than every brick and mortar/online retailer I’ve seen. They have an excellent selection of acoustic and classical guitars.

5 star shout out! They have some really amazing snare drums new/used Modern/vintage. I bought my favorite "#2" hi hats here about a week ago at a great price. I was extremely happy 😊 Also they have some of those cool thin-sounding Zildjian 16" 17" and 18" crashes right now in great condition at a great price. Thank you so much for all the help lately. I first went to twin town to get an older amp that wasn’t working fixed, and my good friend recommended Twin Town Guitar. They’re service was fantastic, they made sure to keep in touch with repairs and got it fully functioning within a couple weeks. I’ve also purchased many pedals, accessories etc. and their staff has always been helpful, and it creates a very friendly environment. They seem to have handled covid concerns in stride, which I feel is worth mentioning as it shows me they have true dedication to their clientele. Prices of both gear and repairs always seem fair as well! I’ve been a customer for a couple years and will be going to them for all my repairs and general guitar needs.

Excellent customer service from Twin Town! I had a warranty issue with brand new Les Paul (minor fretboard damage), and while Gibson was being difficult about the warranty repair (demanding it be shipped back to them to fix), Twin Town took it upon themselves to make it right and fix it. Kudos to Kris and Andrew. They are a stand up shop!

If you would like to enjoy learning how to play guitar, please consider Will Scott at Twin Town Guitars. When I first started lessons with a previous instructor, it was truly a grind. I didn't look forward to the lessons and had to force myself to practice 5 minutes daily, just to make sure I was at least doing something. Once I started working with Will, everything changed. Now I can't wait for my weekly lesson and often find an hour quickly goes by when I sit down to practice the drills and songs he creatively assigns. The past 18 months with Will is well above any expectations I had when I decided to start taking lessons.

Twin Town is my local shop. I live a few blocks from here and have been going to this shop for years. They always have a huge selection of Fender and Gretsch guitars and I love seeing the used stuff come through. The staff is friendly and nice to chat with and I like their recommendations. Twin Town is always my first stop when I need something. I've been taking lessons at Twin Town with Will Scott and he is an exceptional instructor! Extremely collaborative instruction including goal-oriented milestones, music theory, songs, improvisation, and more. I have worked with Will for over a year and I can honestly say my playing wouldn’t be where it is without his help. The knowledge he brings, his positive attitude, and the way he builds you up to your goals is impressive. I would recommend Will to anyone that wants to improve their playing.

Impressed with inventory and nice layout for demoing guitars. -1 star because they are swamped and staff has trouble keeping up, so not really their fault. Just plan extra time to buy strings or try out a guitar.

I've been taking my guitar to Twin Town for a few years now, and I couldn't be happier with the service! Without exception, super friendly and knowledgable staff, great communicators, and prompt service. I've had problems with other places; either some level of incompetence, indifference, or smugness/snottiness (more than once, got the feeling the staff member was annoyed by me or patronizing me). I bought a bass back in June and am a first time player and am a super beginner and I took my bass here to get setup. Not only were they professional through and through, but they EXPLAINED to me WHAT they were going to do and WHY. Helped me thoroughly understand my instrument and why it was important to get setup properly. I will most certainly be going back to this place for my future bass needs. Support local shops and quit going to Guitar Center!!!!!

Nice, fun, wide selection of instruments and accessories, but I have taken two different guitars in for setups and to address some fret buzz, and both times their shop was not able to fix the problem and get rid of the buzz, and still charged me. I took the second guitar to a different shop where they easily fixed the problem by dressing the frets. Twin Town for the first did not tell me they weren’t able to get rid of the fret buzz and only told me it was ready for pickup. For the second guitar, I was told “all guitars will have some buzz”, even though I know my guitar’s was worse than normal. So, I’m disappointed by the shop and likely won’t bring my guitars there for repairs, but no big complaints about their guitar/accessories sales. ***7/21/2021 UPDATE*** After reading my review above, Chris at Twin Town called to get more information on my experience, what exactly happened, who I dealt with, etc. He explained that that really isn't how the experience should have gone and that he'd talk to his employee to make sure it doesn't happen again. They offered to fix the guitar, but since I already had it fixed elsewhere, he fully refunded me for the service. While the experience wasn't ideal, they responded to the review and made things right.

I love this store. I started out buying picks, strings, and instrument cables there. They have such a laid back but professional culture that I eventually decided to take lessons there too. 6 months of lessons took my playing to levels it hadn't reached in the 15 years I've played guitar. I eventually bought a telecaster from the store, and I've also used their amp repair service. Every service I've received from Twin Town Guitars has been awesome. I'd recommend this store to anyone, and the staff is very knowledgeable and nice.

TT fixed my bonkers necks, fixed the action, cleaned the guitars, and even advised me on string selection, and they sound fantastic and play much better than they did before. Money well spent. I just stopped at Twin Town Guitars for the first time yesterday. I wanted a new concert Ukulele. They had a much bigger selection of ukes than I expected. The service was helpful and low-pressure. The staff was knowledgeable and welcoming. I am super glad I hit this and not a big box store. The price was less than I was expecting to pay, too.

Kind of shocked I haven't left a review for this great shop yet, so I'll do so now and keep it short: * Awesome services offered: Easily the best setups I've had done have been from here, and their amp tune ups are amazing. I've had strat setups that held up for months with near daily tremolo use and an amp come back breathing fire after sounding pretty flat before its tune up. * Great classes! I've only done one of their band experiences, but I would absolutely do so again if I had the chance--their instructors are a blast to work with! * Huge selection: They have practically all you could possibly need to get a band up and running and they usually have some really cool used stuff in stock for great prices for the budget conscious (like me). If you're a musician in the Twin Cities area and haven't been yet, do yourself a favor and drop by!!!

We have had a great experience at Twin Town. I have two children, one started out with ukulele, played in the band lessons, and has now transitioned to guitar with Nick Baker. She loves it, she can't wait to do the band again with guitar. My other child began doing flute with Nelson Devereaux. She has been doing it for over a year now and has loved it. Nelson has implemented an eclectic mix of methods in lessons including looping. His willingness to try new things with flute and using modern songs adapted for flute has really kept my child excited to learn. Both Nick and Nelson have been great changing to virtual lessons. It really helps keep my children engaged. I would highly recommend lessons through Twin Town!

Used these guys for the first time. Big Box stores and others had long wait list for neck work on my Tele. Warren was able to get my guitar back in 3 days and they even noted my age and mobility problems and carried my gear to the car for me. It was a busy day and I had to park down the street. Just brought my guitar in today, to get the pickups fixed and new strings. Gotta say the price wasn't bad and only have to wait a week. Definitely liked the staff, they were friendly and laid back. That's the kind of experience you want. Forget the douchebags at Guitar Center, go here instead. And they had Fiji water bottles on the counters, you can always trust people that drink Fiji.

I got my washburn parallaxe PLEKed here over a year ago. Since then, I have played it for at least 100 hours, but I have not touched the tuner knobs one bit. It's still tuned PERFECTLY to standard. That amazes me. In addition to the PLEK machine they have a great variety of picks, strings, and pedals.

I pulled up Twin Town Guitars on my mobile Google maps and the first reviews that came up were somewhat negative. But they were the closest to me so I held my breath and went anyway. I was delighted. This is an awesome local music store with a wide variety of new and used gear, a cool vibe and interested, interesting staff. There were local celeb musicians there during my visit. I highly recommend patronizing stores like this. Some of the reviewers must have never shopped at Guitar Center, which I would not recommend.

Plek tech Warren Peterson at Twin Town did a masterful job fixing frets, nut and saddle on a fifty-five year old guitar. No new frets were needed, as Warren guided the German-made Plek machine to fix old strings grooves in the frets and then lower the action to play like a guitar right from the factory!

Great service everytime I go. I go out of my way to shop here, even though the big name stores are closer. Sure, it can be a pain to get here because of traffic/ road construction, but id much rather shop here than other stores that will remain nameless. Lol Otherwise, great service, alot of stuff in stock, they offer respectable amounts for trade-ins. Only good things to say about this place.
