Went in for a quick repair, took 10 mins. He wasn't going to charge me, so I bought something to support them! I highly recommend

These guys do a great job, I've had them do a number of repairs, recently repaired a back crack on a 1940 martin d-18 for me, they've also done some great fret replacements, and just recently had them re-fret a 1959 strat, was a great job, guitar feels and plays fantastic, always great service, thank you guys!

Went in there initially on a whim from google to have a new guitar set up because I was frustrated with the store I purchased it from.. Phenomenal. What a wonderful, knowledgeable place to do business with. These guys are top notch professionals and produce results. Its a great environment if you are serious about your instruments. I HIGHLY recommend Hoffman over any other place and definitely over a big box instrument shop. Could not be more pleased. I will be bringing all further business here indefinitely. Thank you!!

I don't know who wrote the other reviews other what your experience has been, but in my view Hoffman is the very best guitar repair shop in the Midwest.
Always knowledgeable, always honest, always dedicated to high quality and service, always on time and keep their commitments.
I own a 30 year old Olson guitar, and I know Jim Olson refers repairs to Hoffman. They are the only shop I will trust with my guitar. Just had it re-fretted there.

Excellent experience with a repair two years ago. The high-end guitar I took to Charlie's shop on short notice was repaired in one week. It plays and sounds much better now than when I bought it. The repair charge was so low, and they treated me so well, that I left thinking I had ripped them off. I can't understand how other reviewers could choose to say anything negative about this venerated and still great guitar shop.

I discovered Hoffman Guitars while researching guitar luthiers. I was very impressed by Mr. Hoffman's guitar building skills and the longevity of his employees. I had purchased an ES-335 from Guitar Center at a really good price back in 2014. Gibson had been raided by the feds for allegedly using illegal imported wood, even though their competitor C.F. Martin was importing the same wood with no problems. Because of the threat of bankruptcy, Gibson was shipping guitars as fast as they could make them and some of the guitars weren't setup correctly. My ES-335 had intonation problems and some other issues. Even though it was a 250+ mile trip I decided to take my guitar to Hoffman's shop. Michelle did the repair work on it and my ES-335 was flawless. Michelle has worked on an acoustic of mine too. When I need guitar work done, I have it done at Hoffman Guitars. "They are some of the best in the guitar building and repair business."

Hoffman did an amazing setup job on my Martin acoustic and the difference was clear as day. They were friendly, professional, and courteous. The repair was a little spendy, but worth it though. It played like a brand new guitar when they were done with it.

After nearly 20 years of abuse, electric heat, camp fires and childish use I relied on these guys bring my Taylor 314CE back to life. With three large cracks, a split across the bridge and a pickup that hasn’t worked since 2007 they fixed it all. The work is fantastic and I’m extremely happy. The workmanship was expert work along with a price that was less than two other shops I brought it to. Highly recommended!

Best place for a setup and some repairs. Outstanding work!

I had trouble with the neck of my Taylor. I went through Hoffman's to get the work done. I worked with Michelle and I'm VERY picky about the guitar and who even touches it much less does a set-up. I described to her what I wanted for action when it got re-assembled and when I picked it up it played the best it's ever played! I would HIGHLY recommend her to handle your guitar! Thanks Michelle!

Hoffman Guitar shop is for the professional, amateur, and the hobbyists. I have been taking my guitars to them since 1996. The workmanship is top of the line and the luthier's continually make me feel welcome. A musician can trust their guitars to Hoffman’s. Frederick Frost

They did some pretty challenging repair work on a couple of fanned fret basses that I have, and the work was absolutely top notch. Hoffman will be my go-to place for instrument repairs from now on.

These guys do the best guitar set-ups I've had. I just had Ron do a set-up on my Sheraton and the results are night and day. Now I can't put the thing down. He went above and beyond and truly worked magic on it. I'll definitely be back.

These people are professionals! They're very knowledgeable and also very fair on price. They greet you warmly and make you feel welcome. They also don't try and jive you for extra money. They look at your instrument and if the problem seems apparent, they quote you a price and approximate time of repair. If the problem is an easy/quick fix, they take care of it for you and may or may not charge you...that's good people right there.

I've been going to Hoffman Guitars, literally, for 40 years. I am a full-time flamenco, tango and Latin jazz guitarist. Hoffman fully restored, for me, a costly Jose Romero that was badly trashed in a car accident. They have repaired numerous cracks, splits, and various snafus for me throughout the years. Their prices are very reasonablethey are my first-stop for all things guitar-wise. If they feel the problem is one they can't do a great job with, they honestly tell me as much. Besides my 2000 Romero, I play a 1960s Conde Hermanos ($$$$) and a 1998 Salvador Castillo. I have 100% confidence in Hoffman Guitars. Besides, they're all great people.

This is the place to go for a repair or new handcrafted guitar. I own number 008, it is so unique and has all the best sound qualities only Hoffman can produce.
Robert Rutt
They have been doing Guitar repairs since 1972. Authorized to repair Gibson, Fender & Martin. I will not take any of my guitars to any other repair vendor.
Steve Huot
Hoffman is a venerable institution in Minneapolis. I haven't bought a Hoffman guitar (yet) but it is my go-to place for repairs (and a lot of fellow musicians agree).

I stopped by the shop to get some new strings for my classical guitar - staff was informative, polite, and friendly. Glad to have this shop in the neighborhood and I will be back for my future musical needs!

Had a tuner break right before an overseas gig and they fixed it lightning fast. Excellent service. And they have a cute dog too :)

They did the classic pickguard lift repair on my 77 Martin D-35 in 2004. It still looks awesome to this day.

Great place... I have had work done on many guitars here over the years. These guys know what they are doing!

Some of the quickest turnaround times of any guitar shop in town, plus an old-school neighborhood-focused customer service style that'll instantly put you at ease.
Danny Allen
They adjusted the height of my strings at no cost. Unbelievable. Real professional can't wait to go back.
