You know how it goes. You’re looking for a rare or unique piece of gear and end up finding it at a Music Go Round. You buy it, and it comes packed without care and nothing works and then you have to make a return. And the search continues. Not the case with Brian S., who runs their Internet sales department. I bought an old combo amplifier (yikes, talk about shipping worries) and Brian was awesome throughout the process. 1) even thought the amp was cheap, he packed it better than a new amplifier; 2) he refunded the shipping difference; 3) made sure to give the amp a clean bill of health before sending it on the way. I really appreciated the courtesy, and it’s nice to see an exception to the scenario above. Great relief to deal with pleasant, competent people. I’ll be checking this store’s inventory regularly thanks to him.

I am incredibly impressed with this shop and the amount of care and attention to detail they put into it! Every SINGLE guitar in there has clearly been cleaned up, restrung with new strings and even set up to play really well! You can tell each instrument has received a great amount of TLC, no matter the price point and that is awesome to see. I realize that's to be expected at a used shop but to ACTUALLY execute that as well as they have is honestly a crazy feat! Even a $69 misfit acoustic marked as-is with bridge lift and a twisted neck was even given enough love to play decently. I'm just blown away that even in the coldest of winter I didn't see ONE banana necked guitar with god awful action in there. That's a true accomplishment lol! Some people mentioned a few items being a tad pricey, but the time they put into this gear makes it reasonable and worth it. Personally, I scored a killer deal on a name brand case you can't always find in the new market and I'm super stoked about it. Not to mention, the staff is awesome, very helpful and enthusiastic too. I'm not usually a review writer but this had to be shared. Hats off all around!!

I purchased online from these folks - the deal was excellent but ended right before I clicked "buy"... they honored the deal anyway and refunded me. Even sent the guitar in a gig bag which was not part of the deal. Came in here a couple days ago and a very nice guy named David helped me pick out my first electric guitar. Dude was very knowledgeable and I could tell he legitimately cared about not only helping me find a guitar that I could learn on, but that I understood the different functions of the guitar. Music Go Round is a destination music equipment store. The staff is incredible. I bought a drum set for my grandson. I am completely ignorant about drumming. The employee who worked with me made sure I got all the equipment needed. Every employee at the store was professional, knowledgeable, courteous and helpful. My only issue with Music Go Round is that there's no more Layaway. You have to be ready to purchase that day all because of people not paying for their Layaway items and then their storage began to grow out of control. I understand why they did it, I just don't like it. But a great store!!!

Fabulous store, nicely laid out and huge selection. Bought a Yamaha Revstar 620, decent price. Staff went out of their way to check truss rod adjustability and find a correctly fitting hard case for the flight home. The young lads working in the store were helpful, polite and a very good representation for their business. I give it a 10 out of 10 for both inventory and service. Long time since I had such good service at a musical instrument store. Well done lads, I’ll do future business even remotely as I have faith and trust in their service. The owner should give these lads a bonus for providing the service and attention all businesses should give. Even my wife was impressed at the inventory, polite service and the nice clean presentable layout. Thanks guys.

Overpriced especially for what they pay you. If you need money FAST for an instrument it's great, but don't think your going to get close to what it's worth, especially since they have to make a profit off what your selling them. This location does have some pretty awesome guitars and a great selection and they also have every cable/part you could need. Locally they have the biggest selection of just about everything music related. So all in all, it is what it is ...

They always have a good selection of used gear. Some things are overpriced for sure but its a chain store and you gotta sort through the junk to find the gold. The Music Go Round straps and cords are always a good cheap alternative to the name brands that cost 3-5 times as much. Beginners and Pros alike can benefit from a visit to this place.

Shop here many times. Decent place for used gear, not a great deal but decent selections. I got yelled at because my mask feel down as I reached up to grab a guitar. I apologized to the store clerk, decided not to make the purchase and left shortly afterward...He was understanding but I wish everyone would practice some common sense here with the CDC guidelines.

If you know what you want, have done your research and recognize quality you WILL get a good deal at music go round,and occasionally you find a extremely good value missed by the employee price evaluation. There's a large and diverse choice of guitars,basses, amplifiers, keyboards, I don't know anything about the drum choices other than that they do have drums available, so take your time and LOOK, it will not be a waste of time.

Great music store. Most of the stuff here is used, so don’t plan on finding new stuff. With that said, the product they do have is clean and in nice condition. They have a huge selection of guitars. Quite a few cymbals, drum kits and hardware. The piano/keyboard section is smaller. Prices are fair for a small business. Staff seemed friendly and was helpful when asked. Overall good store to find music gear or if you are looking to buy instruments but don’t want to spend a ton on a new one. Solid place.

I was given exceptional customer service at the Greenfield location of Music Go Round. Ryan helped me during my most recent visit, and I am not the easiest of customers to help. Ryan was awesome! I was looking for a fuzz pedal, and I want to try out the item before I buy. Ryan was extremely helpful with this process. He even researched certain pedals to see if they were what I wanted. We found what I was looking for, but when I took the item home it did not sound good on my rig. I had to return, but when I did, Ryan was also extremely helpful with pointing me in a direction so I would be happy as a customer. Best experience at a retail store. I called looking for a used drum set. Talked to Josh. I went in to look at it, and was pleasantly surprised at the size and inventory. Josh remembered me, and had the drum set on hold for me. He took his time with the sale, and even offered to clean it and replace the heads. I went back a few days later, and he did a fantastic job on it. It looks great, and I am VERY satisfied. I will be a life ling customer. I’m not local, actually from Florida, but they treated me liked I’m a regular. This was a great buying experience! Simple transactions are easy, but the true measure is how companies deal with small mistakes or unforeseen issues. During the new virus reality (closings and need for shipping), an item was accidentally left out of the box and the performance didn’t meet with exactly what I assumed it would be. EVERYTHING was done to make it right and was done almost instantly (refund for missing power cord/and for OEM preamp tube). I couldn’t have asked for better treatment or concern for my purchase from a company. I highly recommend anyone shop with them and count on their professionalism as well as their advice. -Mike S.

What they have in stock is alway catch-as-catch-can, but they're on a par with with the best resale shops I've visited.

This MGR store has a secret: the employees give great service. As experienced musicians, they diligently work to solve your problems or select gear. David and Steve, for example, helped this reviewer get many music synthesizers and cables. Gabe helped with an Alesis electronic drum kit. Everything works great! Their old store did not impress me. It was nearby in the Greenfield Fashion Center. This standalone store looks nice inside. Expect to quickly find gear for your gigs or studio. Shop carefully and notice how much of it is in great shape. Remember, most of it is used. /Update Dec 2020/ The MGR website does not take product reviews. Someone probably said, "The products are used. Why bother?" Fortunately, some new or standard accessories are stocked. You won't be disappointed with Ernie Ball cables, Hosa Technology accessories, Hercules and On Stage stands, and Roland MIDI cables. EB cables glow under black light! Invest in quality, whether new or used, and keep things clean and unabused. Your gear should give you at least five years of service.

Admittedly, I am now a "regular" at both stores, but the service has always been top notch. I come up from Chicago often, usually chasing discontinued keyboards or a deal on an amp. Having had to deal with the box store locally, I can attest to the fair value MGR gives in trade and even cash for the items they buy in. Prices are usually market value, but the instrument is playable unlike buying online, and no shipping worries. And if you're a bargain Hunter, be patient. There's a system in place for automatic price drops if a piece sits too long. I might have a favorite person to deal with, but everyone has been great. Skip online auctions and support the brick and mortar stores that earn the business.

This place has an incredibly diverse collection of (mostly) used musical gear. Guitars, keyboards, drums, pro sound, and even a few band instruments. Everything comes with a 7 day guarantee, so you can take the stuff home, figure out if it's really for you, and keep or return or exchange it. Then there's a 60 day warranty that has saved me a bunch on amp failures.

My drum kit was packed by a moron who broke a bass drum lug and bent the internal muffles in the toms. I notified them as soon as i got my drums asking them to call me but haven't heard a word from them. Once they got my money they couldn't care less about me or the damage they caused to my vintage ludwigs. Never do business with this store their people are incompetent and unprofessional

Went to get my new Washburn G2 Grand Auditorium Guitar set up. Wife got me a nice belated bday gift from Washburn and it arrived today. They said about a week. While I was looking at a 67 Fender Double Reverb Deluxe tube amp for the Gretsch, they called me on the phone. It was done in 20 minutes with new Daddario Pb 80/20 strings on it. What a great job and damn quick!! This is the 2nd Washburn guitar they set up for me. Friendly, fast, courteous and had a hell of a great time meeting up with a few of us "older folks" who like to jam. Hmm, would be nice to see a little chin-dig goin'-on there on Saturday mornings. Back home, the local music store used to do it and the bluegrass pickin', Hank and Waylon jamming was a hit! Nice to see us seniors at a local music shop.
