Genuine people working there. Lots of unique vinyl. Small, but a good place to go if you want to stumble across gems. Reasonable pay for used records. Good music on the speakers. Will stop back.

Absolutely love this place. A true record store experience. If you're looking for something super specific or popular new releases, this place might not have what youre looking for; however, you'll always walk out of there with something interesting. Awesome owner, Craig is the laid back record store owner uncle you never had but always wanted. I come in here at least once a week, if not just to look around and chat with Craig. Always good music playing. Great conversation and great music is exactly what you'll find here.

Im glad they moved closer to my house. Good selection of used vinyl. Last time I went they were doing some remodeling. Looking forward to my next trip. Support your local record store!

This place is awesome if you're looking for good music. The owner is super nice and has some great stories about bands he's seen. Today was my first time there but me and my kids will definitely be repeat customers. You can't ask for better customer service. It's exactly what you'd want from a record store.

Great wreckastow! Friendly and knowledgable owner, reasonable prices, always find unusual and interesting music here.
Julie Pellman
Very cool! A huge selection with a knowledgeable and cheerful shopkeeper. We will be back!
Update: I just got around to playing a record he had specifically commented on. It's a live album and the dude was actually at the concert where it was recorded. This album is amazing! I probably won't listen to anything else for a week!

I've been going to this store since roughly 2010 and I've never walked out of the store empty hand. Their selection of jazz, psych and 60s/70s rock is rock solid. Plus the owner Craig knows his music.
One of the best Louisville music stores hands down.
Jack Stepro
Any record store selling CD'S is my kinda place. Large selection. Not as big a selection as old days but good as you find now! Also has records.

By far the best record shop on Louisville, Kentucky. Best prices, best cash for your used stuff, and, by far, the most knowledgable staff. Also the oldest record shop in town. They've actually refused to sell me bad music , like "no, you dont want that one, man, try this album instead." Underground Sounds: you found it!

This place has absolutely the best pricing in all of louisville. Seriously...I've walked out with 5 sick albums for 20 bucks that would've cost me at least 50-60 anywhere else.Their 60-70's rock selection is great, and you'll find something if that's your genre. Unfortunately the overall customer service is horrendous to say the least. Don't expect any smiles or even a hello. I would give this place 5 stars easily if it wasn't for that aspect, but the animosity that's present when you walk in that store is a big turn off. I've avoided stopping in when I'm by there for that particular reason. Also, their credit card machine is always "down", so bring cash.

This is a great shop for records and cds. When reading other reviews, I saw that many people said that the service was bad. I, however, was greeted at the door with a smile. The man working behind the counter even looked through my list of records I want and helped me search for each one of them. He was wonderful! Their selection is pretty good. The majority of their records are 70s-90s rock, but there were also a few new things such as Twenty One Pilots's "Blurryface" and the Weekend's "The Hills". I found Foo Fighters, Radiohead, Queen, and many more! The prices vary from $0.99-$30. I would say that most cost between $5-$30. Fairly good pricing for the value of the records.

This isn't the place for you if you're looking for a standard retail experience. Underground Sounds is a grad-school level course in how a record store should work - it's a cramped space jammed full of records, with a flighty hippie owner behind the counter who knows every record in the shop and a million others. Don't get offended if Craig doesn't notice you at first, or if he veers off on tangents about the records on the walls. If you want to be led around by teenagers earning their minimum wage in a sterile store full of polished stainless and black racks, go to the mall. If you want to spend hours digging through stacks of records and listening to the owner tell stories about seeing The Who in 1967, Underground Sounds is your place.

Not very big and pretty unorganized, but a good selection of vintage stuff. Found a difficult to find Billy Joel Album for a very reasonable price.

Love it here! I'm always finding great deals here and everything I bring home plays wonderfully.

Everytime I'm there i end up shooting music talk with the employees for what seems like hours. which is a good thing because sometimes thats all that some us want to do; flex our music muscle and just have a great conversation. craig the owner knows his stuff and will really take care of you. always a pleasure doing business with these dudes.
Doom Worship
Best prices for new vinyl in Louisville. Great selection of 60’s / 70’s / current Stoner/Psyche/Fuzz. I always check here first.

One of the last great independent record stores in the 'Ville. Reasonable prices, endless vinyl, and as unpretentious as the day is long. Do yourself a favor.
Drake H
Louisville's best music shop. Craig and his staff are very sharp, carry great music and take joy in discussing great bands.

Best place to go crate digging, hands down. I always make a point to have a lot of time set aside when I go. The owner is always helpful and a great guy to talk to.
