Wether you want to sell, trade, or buy instruments this is the place to go. I'll never buy another instrument brand new with Music Go Round here in Louisville. Massive inventory! Just don't expect to get much for an instrument if you're selling to them. I was pretty much offended by the low ball offer for my mint acoustic Seagull guitar. That's the reason behind only 4 stars.

Huge parking lot, tons of selection, good resale prices, knowledgeable and nice staff. Larger warehouse type store that was easy to maneuver in. They also had a surprisingly large selection of used speakers, stands, and amps.

Like a thrift store for instruments. You never know what you will find! You do have to spend some time looking and digging around for the gems. Only complaint is some of their used stuff is priced pretty high for its condition. Don't know if they will make deals on it since I didn't ask, but I suspect they might.

This place is great! Basically a music pawn shop. Tons of used, little new (if any?), but a HUGE variety of stuff. They even have a good amount of extended range which is what I prefer, and most shops don't carry it at all. Go check it out!

Helpful and courteous staff, I have the store 3 stars because the inside looks unorganized, a bit messy like things are just pushed into random locations, the lack of labels made it more difficult to find what I was looking for.

Awesome place to do business. My son was able to buy a guitar cabinet here and has been so pleased with it. More than that, the staff were super friendly both on the phone as well as in person. There are plenty of different kinds of instruments, products, equipment... anything a musician or sound tech could hope for. Of course the equipment is used, but the prices are great and the quality is awesome too. We will be back, for sure.

I do not recommend you sell an instrument here as you will only receive an insulting, low-ball offer. Like 100 dollars for an 800+ dollar item insulting.

I go here a good bit. Have bought a few items, an amp, a guitar, a few pedals. Staff is really friendly, knowledgeable and does not hover, which is awesome for guitar shop. Prices are reasonable used prices, and you get 7 day return if it doesn't work right. You can find good deals here if you look often enough.

Loved the experience. I am going through a tough time and decided to relearn an instrument that I hadn't played in years. It was my first time stopping in. The staff, specifically Jason, were very helpful. He showed me the instrument, explained the set up, and offered me a room to test it out. I found one, tried it out, and left the story happy. This store is used instruments only but they test and evaluate all of the instruments they receive to make sure they are in good condition for resell. This is what made me feel confident in my purchase. Wish me luck as I went from 1st chair and part of a jazz band... to becoming a beginner!!

Hands down one of the best music stores, I never leave without something and I’m here at least once a week. The staff is beyond helpful and make you feel like family when you come in. In my opinion they are very fair in my opinion on trades ( keeping in mind that your selling used equipment that they have to turn a profit on later, and just bc it’s sentimental doesn’t mean it’s worth it for them to make the investment). I go here all the time for accessories or just to browse and the experience is always the same. Always helpful and knowledgeable without being overbearing. They always answer questions without making you feel like you don’t belong there. Believe me, most music stores treat people like that. Traded in a guitar once and they gave me exactly the percentage they quoted based on what they resold it for so you know they shoot straight. If you are looking to get started these guys are the best.

They also give you a surprisingly decent figure for trade ins, and their prices for used gear are extremely fair - which is awesome because that means a good rotation of gear in and out. Great guys! I think the amp tech from a former music store works here now. He's a stellar fender amp guy who has done great work for me in the past. There's a big selection here and they'll buy a lot of your stuff too. Obviously don't expect to make a buck, but if you tire of the Craig's/Facebook marketplace route and are in a hurry, this is the place in town for that.

Maybe it's just me, but everything in there looks and feels dusty. I realize it's old used gear, but still feels life everything would benefit from a cleaning. Everyone is really friendly and helpful, however the several times I've been I haven't found the selection to be that great. But hey, they might have what you're looking for!

Bought a guitar online from them for quite a steal for a mim strat. The guitar arrived in a safe and timely manner. There was a small crack on the pick guard that they missed in the initial checkup and they instantly shipped me a brand new one for free when I mentioned it. Will be coming back in the future for my guitar needs!

Was pretty good. The staff was very nice, but there was no big deals. Most guitars we're only marked down 50$ max from retail. The pedals were about the same. Some microphones we're good deals but not much. I'm not a drummer, so I dont know about that. The keyboards and synths were alright. Fun place to look around at, wouldn't heavily shop here, but there was a couple of decent to pretty good deals, but not insane. Have been to better Music Go Rounds.

Always friendly, makes deals (especially if within $25-$30 is the price difference). Always has general/basic guitar utils like strings, picks, cords, etc. True to the name different instruments really "Goes Round", within days to a couple weeks, new & used guitars, amps, & other equipment shows up, and vastly change in a couple weeks later. I'm indorsed by Dunlop and D'Addario, but I haven't renewed with them for another year, so I'll get my picks & strings there again (after 7 years of 10 sets of strings and 60 picks a month for free. Because they never fail to be out of the most popular strings & picks and get new stuff in as fast as Guitar Center & they're basically the best music store in the Louisville area. They also help you track things down on the internet or suggest another store. You never know what gem you might find there!

Ah I love this place. More than not I found myself here playing guitars I've never seen or heard of before, you wanna get a great guitar with an amazing price tag, head here. However I will say that I saw a telecaster (non squire) for sale for 119.00, it looked and still looked and plays fine, but they told me it was a real, refurbished telecaster. No it was not, it was a partscaster and I'm glad I only paid about 119 for it because that's most likely what it's worth.

Doug, Jason and the rest of the crew have the best deals on used instruments ANYWHERE. Picked up my PDP by Drum Workshop drum kit for 225 and they're 700 to 800 used everywhere else. Mesa Dual Rectifier $700, 1400 elsewhere. Warranty could be better, but gear gets abused so I understand the risk and short warranty. But if I can't blow it up in 7 days, it's pretty tough I think.

I love a music store where you can go in, sit down, and play. This that place. Tons of quality used equipment to choose from. Free coffee. You can even take lessons. The only problem the day I was there was two or three kids running around the store. They were rather unruly and nearly knocked me down at least once.

Don't be afraid to approach the staff for help! They may look like cool musicians - and they probably are - but they are very friendly. There's tons of hidden gems here. Some things are a bit over priced but some things aren't! It's sometimes surprising what you can find here. My one criticism is that I wish there was a bit wider range of guitar/bass strings.

The atmosphere of the place is awesome. The whole staff is friendly. Unlike guitar center they never make you feel forced to buy anything. Would give 5 stars but the guitar tech sets majority of the instruments very low and thus alot of them have bad fret buzz. Please. Fix this.

My only dealings with them have been online through Gear Grabber. I was looking for a specific guitar and the had it used far cheaper than anywhere else. I called the store to confirm that they had it on the shelf before i processed my payment and the guy gave me a full description (better than gear grabber website) of the guitar including a small flaw. They took it off the shelf right away and i had it in my hands a few days later. I couldn't be happier it was exactly as described.

No one talks to you like you're they're new fav beer pong bro or tries to push you into buying things (I'm looking at you Guitar Center). A pleasant store to be in with the best prices on used gear anywhere in town. Also they have Argo Sons coffee which is a fine cup of sauce. What else do you want?

Went to another used music store in town first and had a really terrible experience. My son's instructor suggested we try here. Phil helped us get a great drum kit for my son, and spent extra time helping us find all the parts we needed and doing all he could to keep us on/under the budget we gave him. He was honest and straightforward with where we could save money and where we shouldn't buy cheap, what would last and what would need to be replaced regularly. One thing that was really important to me is that he included my son (who we were buying the drums for) in the discussion, showing him how do do things and what things were called. Helped us load up when we were done. We will definitely be back!

I just got home from Music Go Round after buying my first guitar. I am a complete beginner, so I walked in a little hesitant. Jason came over to help me out; he ended up spending almost an hour playing different guitars so I could hear them and showing me the minute details. I play drums so I check back every month or so to see if they got anything new. I think their prices are more than fair, and I've even made deals. If your a musician you should check this place out.

Music Go Round is a place to buy and sell used music and music-related equipment. I've both bought and sold here. For what I've sold to them, they look up what kind of price they would put on it and give you 50 percent of that. So it's similar to consignment but you get the money even before (if) the item sells. I never went to see the actual price they put on what I sold to them, however. On the buying, you can get some quality, brand-name equipment at a reasonable price because it's used. That works well when you're buying non-electrical equipment, such as drums, stands, cymbals, etc. You inspect it before you buy it, and there usually aren't any surprises beyond that, so you know what you're getting. With electrical equipment, it's a different story. It's hard for anyone to know, including Music Go Round, whether the equipment that someone sells to them has issues that aren't immediately apparent. And that has been the case more than once with electrical equipment that I or my bandmates have purchased. So I would use caution when buying something that plugs in, just as you would if you were buying through CraigsList, OfferUp or a site like that. But it's great for drum equipment and other musical instruments that don't have to plug in. Cymbals are reasonably priced.

Good place to get used equipment but I think when you bring something in that is really nice are close to brand new that they should give you a little more trade-in value than what they do and I wish they would bring layaway back but otherwise my experiences of always been good

Ultimately, it's one of the better music stores in Lville, but the standards are low. Emporium is expensive and I've never seen such rudeness from some of their employees/owner? Doo Wop has a weak selection. Mom's seems overpriced and inconveniently located. I'll start with the bad and end on a high note: was a tad frustrated because I got a quote for $500 on a guitar, came back the next day to buy it (after selling gear to buy it) and the guy said the lowest he could go was $540. I was also a bit dismayed when they would only sell me a $15 box to ship a guitar, despite having spent ~$300 in gear - that just seems cheap to me. The guys at guitar center would roll their eyes at me but then run to the back to grab me one to make the sale. Now the good: I find that the workers are pretty friendly, laid back, and the clientele is way less obnoxious than your Sunday crowd @ GC. By that I mean, people in there seem like they're actually interested in demoing gear more than declaring to the world that they know how to FINGER TAP!1!!!!! (RIGHT?!!!).

Our church was broken into and the Thief took one of the items stolen and sold it to MusicGoRound. One day, by chance, I was shopping there and noticed the stolen item. The Manager gave me the name of the person who sold it to them. I went to the Police and of course, had to PROVE ownership of the item. The Cops investigated and it turned out to be a teenage kid living next door to the church. I got the stolen item back for the church. Of course I REALLY had to verify the item belonged to the church BEFORE they gave it back . I'm sure MGR has people walking in all the time CLAIMING some vintage axe on the wall belongs to them. I'm not naive enough to think that they are so stupid as to just hand merchandise over to just anyone who cries "mine mine mine" WITHOUT actual proof AND getting law enforcement involved. All of these reviews that CLAIM that MGR sells stolen items don't mention ANYTHING about police involvement. If it is yours AND you have proof; why not call the police? They buy and sell used equipment and I'm sure getting a stolen item now and then is bound to happen. Quit "bad mouthing" them. I have been a loyal customer ever since they had a store on the Outerloop. That was back in the nineties. They may not give me top dollar when I am selling, but usually I have found that they are as competitive as some "yahoo" selling the same thing on CL when buying. They have always treated me fairly. This is my experience with MusicGoRound.
