After another visit (with more time to browse) even more impressed! This place is great. It's off the beaten path and I didn't know about it until today however, the 2 guys working there today were really nice and helpful. They offered to help me locate (order) some old school Deck rails... The have a great selection of Vinyl and some cool chotchskis! Plenty of stickers, skate tools, t-shirts, and a whole bunch of stuff I didn't even get to look at yet. This place and the staff are well worth the visit! Helping me find what I need to complete my board too! After another visit (with more time to browse) even more impressed! Great... Smoke Shop/Vinyl Shop/Skate Shop! Too Cool! 😎

Still a 5* rating cause they have a great selection of all kinds of music, including vinyls and box sets. Not sure about now, but, back in the day, if you didn't find it in store, they'd look it up to see if they could get it in for you. There's also skateboard decks and parts, decent incense selection, hookahs and supplies, anime, shirts, pops, and some metaphysical items. So far, everyone has been nice in the store and very helpful any time I've been in. Definitely recommend this store if you're in the area, even more so if you're a fan of industrial and metal, as there are some albums you will not find in regular stores.

Awesome vinyl selection, wonderful staff. I stopped in this weekend while visiting Houston and ended up coming back a second time to grab a couple more records and chat. The international and Kraut Rock sections are especially good here. I ended up finding a citypop collection I’ve been looking for for a while along with some solid Japanese releases that I’ve never seen stocked in any of my local shops. Wish I had a Sound Revolution here in the Phoenix area! Both locations will be a day-one stop on my next trip.

Our Revolution is the place to go I'm always there picking up supplies for the tattoo shop I work at. The the associates at sound Revolution are always willing to assist you in finding just what you need there are always nice and friendly remember faces and names so whenever y'all can stop over there by the song Revolution they have plenty of good cells and you can even pick a free record with a purchase

This place has no shortage of music diversity and personality. The staff are down to earth and easy to talk to. The small aisles can get difficult to walk through though if there's too many people inside. The music selection they play over the speakers is always top notch. I'm only interested in the music portion of the store so I can't critique the smoke or skateboarding sections of the store. Overall, I think Sound Revolution is a cozy and cool spot to find great new music. I recommend it.

This place is liiiiiiit. They got quite an arrangement of musical formats. A nice used section. They have enamel pins, some jewelry and your chief essentials. The people working were pretty good dudes who have quite a head of knowledge. Check it out!

Been coming here for my entire life basically. Just picked up a pretty sweet brand new George Strait CD for the older cars I drive around in. Glad to see I can still get a CD when I want to. Lots of vinyl. I got a really bomb lip balm. It has cbd or something but I just love it bec it tastes like what I nostalgically remember lip smackers tasting like. I'm almost certain that lip smackers tastes bad BUT in my head I'm definitely remembering how good this lip balm is. I accidentally washed it and went back across town for another.

This is one of THE most unique places I have discovered in this area 😭💗 it is SO full of love and passion and best of all is its local! Support your local Houstonians!!! The records are organized so well and I was amazed to see limited editions and unique cover art that I had never seen even online. Their selection of smoke products is fantastic and they even have vape mods, juices, etc!! If I lived closer then I already know THIS would be my only smoke shop. For now I'll settle for visiting here anytime I do go into the city 😊

Not one smoke, gift, memorabilia, music shop has ever tugged my heart strings like Sound Rev. Ever since I was fifteen years old I have been shopping at this place. The vibe alone when you walk in should be enough to render a few stars but the fact that they sell some of the most unique stuff and have an awesome selection of pipes, vaporizers, masks, etc. for a great price just keeps me going back. One of the best smoke shops in the city, hands down.

I love this place for its variety of old school and new school records. Honestly I only go for the records, but if you're into smoke shops for "the smokes" lol the people are so sweet and helpful. They're goofy and it's a good give inside. The area isn't the best, but the inside is cool.

Cool head shop with incense, vinyl records, t-shirts, etc... they used to have a wide selection of used vinyl, which was awesome, but original pressings are getting harder to find these days. Decent place to find vape juice, too.

The original location, I enjoy my experience at this location TREMENDOUSLY more then the 249 one. I don't spend as much time in this one, and it is a further drive out, but I find something 100% of the time. It seems the stock here is updated pretty frequently, and the employees actually converse with you. I don't necessarily enjoy the drive out here, but my mood changes instantly when I walk out with a new record in my hand.

The woman I talked to was very informative about bars pens. They also have a wife selection of CDs and vinyl records (I think) I've only bought CDs and they have a wide variety of those hard to find things. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable

I've been going to Sound Revolution since I was 16 years old to get my music, shirts, and various smoking paraphernalia. I am now 30 and I've since become good friends with the family that owns it, no not just a great store but a great people owning it as well. They also have another location at 249 and 1960 that opened just last year. I particularly love SR because of the generous heavy metal selection. There is always free CDs that bands or rappers will leave in there for people to take as well. Extensive collection of rare to brand new vinyl records, none more so than them. Not many true music stores left. Not to mention awesome selection of extreme quality to affordable glass smoke wear that is all bought from local and USA glass blowers (most shops buy from India, Turkey, Pakistan, and China). Not to mention the plethora of vaporizers, accessories, and gadgets. Don't forget to stop on your way home! :^]~

Went in for a bubbler saw a Grav Lab I liked priced at 45$ asked the guy if he could do it for 40$ and he said how about 30$ I said deal! Saw the same bubbler at another smoke shop for 60$ and laughed I will never go anywhere else!

Really nice visit for new vinyl fans. The used selection is a little on the sparse side but they had really cool items on colored vinyl, picture discs (saw Public Enemy there) and Brit EPs from The Kinks for the first time Stateside. Staff was at the perfect level: they ask if you need help once or if you specifically look puzzled but not continual harassment otherwise. Lots of the vinyl had Record Store Day stickers so they participate. Vinyl is somewhat grouped by genre and then alphabetically. Don't forget to look UNDER the used vinyl for the cheapie cassettes/CDs. They even had 8 tracks!! No comments about the skate/smoke shop. I wasn't there for that. EDIT: Fixing some typos/grammar.

They saved the day! I originally went to Best Buy to buy some CDs only to find out they no longer sale them. So punched in CD store in google maps and this was the closest place. Inside the shop is your classic vinyl and cd shop which also sells shirts, tobacco and vape smoking accessories. The dudes running the store were super cool sonic ended up hanging around for a few just talking about music. They truly love their work.

This is the parent location of Sound Revolution, the second being on 249 near Louetta. I wrote a review there first, but came to this one during Record Store Day to get an EP. I'll say what I did for the other location, which is that this is by far the best record store in Houston for those who love rock, punk, metal, or hardcore. Great, knowledgeable staff and superb selection.
