Stopped in today just to browse and left with a new guitar. The first thing I noticed was how much bigger it felt when I walked in, I wasn't expecting to see as much of a selection as I did. Prices are on par with MAP from other stores, you'll pay the same for a guitar here as you will at a big-box store. However you get some really nice customer service and the warm fuzzy feeling about supporting a small business. I will absolutely be back here and will be telling others about this place.

Brought in a 52 year old 12 string Stella Harmony guitar to have a setup and basic repairs done and they did a great job. This guitar, although not a high end expensive guitar, carried alot of sentimental value having belonged to my grandfather who was a renowned bluegrass musician in the late 60s and 70s I was a bit apprehensive about trusting them with this guitar because I didn't think they would even have an interest in working on a cheaper guitar such as this. I was worried they wouldn't put as much care into it as they might on a higher end more expensive guitar. The first person I spoke to was a younger guy working the front counter and I could tell he was kinda disinterested when I showed him the guitar and almost had an arrogant snarky attitude about what I was interested in doing. So almost immediately I had a bad feeling about entrusting them with my guitar. However, I decided to leave it there with low expectations. Finally, 2 weeks later the guitar was finished. I am impressed. It sounds amazing and has new life. It is not perfect, but it's a cheaper 52 year old guitar so I don't expect perfection but they did a wonderful job with it. I would give 5 stars but they really need to treat EVERY customer as if they are spending their life savings in that store. There is no reason to have a disinterested attitude when someone is entrusting you to help even if it is a cheaper guitar... I will be back because I have an extensive collection of higher end guitars and have my eyes on purchasing a new one in this shop......so I hope next time the floor sales guy expresses more interest in earning my business. Maybe he was having a bad day...... Thank y'all for the great work on my grandpa's guitar...he would be thrilled!!

Recently started playing instruments again due to the current pandemic, and I couldn't be more pleased with Danny D's services during this time. I recently procured a 1964 P-bass that was purchased by my great grandfather in 1964. While it still looked great given its age, there was some significant damage caused by years of neglect and lack of use. I brought it in to Danny D's and Danny D. himself took it in and got it back to playing like I'm sure it did 56 years ago. There isn't any other shop that I would bring my instruments to. Great staff, great selection of all sorts of musical gear, and just a really great vibe from the store as a whole. Easily the best shop in South Texas.

I have been here so many times. They are always helpful and can answer just about any question. New and used gear. Acoustic, electric, amps, pedals, parts and they do repairs. I was told they have lessons as well. Play guitars and test amps it's a good thing.

Great staff, even greater selection on just about any guitar you’d want, and every setup I’ve had done there has been nothing short of perfection. Fantastic guitar shop. I’ve used them almost exclusively for years and can’t recommend them highly enough. Crazy complex custom wiring? No prob. Neck reset on a fragile flamenco guitar? Easy. Danny and his crew are amazing at what they do. I got spoiled and one time took a guitar to a shop closer to my home, and ended up taking the guitar to Danny to have them do the work anew. Being indecisive about which guitar I wanted, I spent many hours going back and forth between guitars and found that everyone at Danny D’s was extremely patient in helping me. I could always rely on Chris to reply to email inquiries, offer excellent advice, and go out of his way to make sure I bought the right guitar. They ended up special ordering the guitar I wanted since they didn’t have it in stock, and being an authorized dealer for several guitar brands, I have peace of mind that they could get nearly any guitar for you. They also perform setups on all of their guitars, and you can be rest assured they’ll do it right every time. I especially like their layaway option, which is four equal payments over four months, a great option for those who can’t pay in full right away. The store selection is great and very organized, with several different brands and custom models to choose from. I’ve also had guitars, both electric and acoustic, setup here and they’re absolutely perfect, several times better than they were before. They treat their instruments the way you would treat your own and I have complete peace of mind that everyone is extremely knowledgeable and experienced in playing. And although I haven’t tried any, they do offer lessons, which I’m sure are also extremely informational. In summary, I’d definitely recommend Danny D’s over any other guitar store. A friend recommended them to me, and now I’m recommending them to everyone else.

Last year my son wanted to take ukulele lessons at school. Not knowing anything about ukuleles and wanting to support local business I called Danny D’s and was told they carried a variety of ukuleles. It is an understatement to say I’m glad we made the short drive to get knowledgeable and friendly help versus buying blindly from Amazon. We found an appropriately sized ukulele that wasn’t made from junk, yet in our price range and also grabbed a hard case to protect our investment. A year later and we are still happy with our purchase and return to Danny D’s periodically for advice and supplies for other stringed instruments at home. Before you shop online, call around and try to support our local businesses!

Called ahead of coming by and was given all the info I wanted to know, I showed up and was immediately shown what I wanted. If you’re a local in the clear lake - Santa Fe area, you HAVE to bring your guitars here. Workers are super friendly but aren’t pushy sales people. My wife went in around Christmas time and got me the guitar I played the last time we went and she had a GREAT experience. This morning, I ended up leaving my 08’ Strat for a set up and bought new pick ups to have put in. They worked with me and got my ticket printed up in a timely manner, now I wait to get a call back and go pick up my guitar. Super happy with the store, and recommend you go there over ANY store including music and arts, and guitar center. The best guitar shop south of the beltway for sure.

This was my first guitar purchase, and to say the least in is very intimidating. The two gentlemen in the store were both busy, but offered to help me right away. I told them I would wait since I had many questions. After one of them finished with their customer he immediately came over to help me. He answered all my questions, showed me many guitars and amps and even played them for me since I don't know how to play. He did a wonderful job and made me feel at home. After finding my perfect guitar, amp and all the accessories, he took the guitar in back tuned, adjusted, and cleaned it. At the end of the sale I found out I was working with Danny the owner. He was so very helpful and I felt so comfortable there, Danny has gained a customer for life. If you are reading this please make Danny D's your first guitar stop, you will not regret it!

I was referred to them by a friend. My first time experience here was great. I took my ukulele (a baritone) to be checked out. They were very friendly and helpful; Learned a good bit about my particular instrument-especially in light of the fact that the baritones are a little different than the others, a fact I wasn’t really aware of. They made some adjustments on it and gave some helpful information on what/what not to do. Thanks guys!

Danny and Deacon are top notch. If you are tired of hearing 15 year olds play sloppy medal on a line 6 spider while you are guitar shopping. Check out this shop for a professional environment.

Bought a used 2016 Taylor 412ce-R described in excellent condition. I would say it is mint and wouldn't have noticed the smallest little ding in the instrument if they didn't point it out. Worth the trip from Lake Jackson area. Couldn't find a banjo locally, they had 3 to choose from. Saved money on a like-new used one with beautiful case and accessories inside. Wall to wall guitars are eye candy in themselves but the place looks beautiful despite them. We will likely return in the future.

I just had the best experience with Danny D's GuitarHacienda. I was looking for a part for a @TaylorGuitars guitar they don't make anymore. Specifically, it's the nut that accepts a 1/4 guitar cable into the Expression V1 pickup. Taylor wanted to charge us $300 for a whole new unit. Danny patiently stayed on the phone with me as he talked me through extracting the pickup. He then deduced exactly the part I needed. And not only did Danny D's source it for me, they're just sending it to me for free. Amazing service. Highly recommend!

Absolutely the best place to buy quality guitars and awesome service. Every time I go in this place I get awesome immediate service. I bought my Martin for $200 less than what guitar center was selling it for. What's also cool, is that every guitar you touch has already been tuned and set up properly by a luthier. Came in to check this place out for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised. I'm used to big box guitar stores with racks of line6's and cheap guitars so I was rather shocked when I saw a FULL selection of mesa's and quality guitars. The staff was excellent, friendly, and dealt with my incessant wishy washyness on whether to buy a dual rectifier and cab (I did). This is my new go to place for all things guitar. Definitely give this place a go if you haven't already.

This is a small, family owned music store that caters to guitarists. The service is the best you can get. Ken has expanded my guitar understanding tremendously with patience and encouragement. Chris is the electronic guy. He has helped me with performance setups and effects boxes/recorders over the years. I can't say enough about this shop and it's employees. You will not be disappointed. I'm in the store once a week for lessons and I always look around the store before and after lessons. This staff is very attentive/respectful to customers and their instruments. Pete is absolutely amazing. He is a personable and professional guitar tech at Danny D’s. He did an intricate pick up change for me by swapping out the old humbuckers of my Fender American deluxe telecaster with a set of Seymour Duncan, Pearly Gates model pick ups. It was a fairly intricate and complicated pick up change because of the make up of the guitar, but Pete did a perfect job thanks to his deep knowledge of these guitars and parts. And Danny had the exact model pick ups I was looking for, in stock. They completed the job fast and for a fair price. Thanks to Pete I’ve accomplished my goal of making that guitar sound closer to Eddie Van Halen’s huge tone. The guitar performed flawlessly in my recording studio session today. I have had Dan do fret dress, re-frets, battery cavity routering, complete rewire with pickups, switches and covers, and bought several guitars accessories and PA items over the years. Dan always gives you personal service and advise. He is one of the only people I trust with my high end guitars.

Danny D’s has done another great job for me. Pete, the guitar tech, changed out the old pick ups and installed new Seymour Duncan pearly gates pick ups, in a high end Gibson Les Paul standard. This was a particularly complex operation due to the intricacies of the electronics in the cavity of the guitar. Pete’s expert knowledge of all things guitar, had him doing a perfect job to make this beautiful instrument sound better than I had ever dreamed of. I am amazed also at how he did the set up on the guitar exactly perfect to my liking. The way Pete improved this instrument actually has made me a better player, and for that I am eternally grateful. Thank you Pete, you’re a rockstar!

I started doing business with Danny D's when they were in Webster Texas in the late 90s before they moved and changed their name. Their pricing is competitive with even online stuff, look for yourself and see. And you get something from them that you can't from an online shop, world class service. I don't trust just anybody with my instruments, and these guys qualify! They treat me as a customer, and my instruments like we are cherished old friends. They do all my setups, and maintenance work and are well worth it! Including maintenance on a custom Ibanez Soundgear bass (EMG P/J active set swapped in), as well as the maintenance on my families accoustic and electric guitars. The last 3 basses I have owned came from them, and I am getting ready to make another purchase from them. I have used their classes in the past, and they have helped me get past several stuck points in my playing. I might have to take a few lessons on slap bass to get that going too!

I have played guitar for 44 years now and I travel all over the nation in my line of work and I can assure you that Danny D's is the one of the most professional guitar stores that you will ever find. They have top notch products unlike the "Big Box" and most other stores. The sale person was very patient with me and handed me the same 3 guitars back and forth for 2 hours while I tried to figure out which one I wanted. They must have a special relationship with their vendors because their guitars are truly much better than identical guitars that I have played elsewhere. They obviously know how how to set up an electric guitar as well because every guitar that I picked up played as if I had set it up myself. I bought a Gretsch "Brian Setzer Nashville" and a week later I went back and bought a Fender "Select" Stratocaster that I had played while shopping for the Gretsch. I had been looking for a new Stratocaster since 1995 and could never find one that was worth buying until I went to this store. I played the Select, an American Standard and an Eric Johnson model. All 3 of these guitars played amazingly well right off the rack and it was hard to make up my mind but I chose the 2012 Select Stratocaster and I cannot put it down because it plays so smooth and sounds so good. I had never been in the store until a few weeks ago and I have decided that this is my guitar store as long as they are open. This review is real and 100% honest because I want other guitar players to visit this store and see what they are missing. W. Wood

Danny D's Guitar Hacienda is the only place I have, and will let work on my '66 Super Reverb, 1955 Martin or any other instruments I own that need repair, adjustments or cleaning.

After recently moving to the area, I asked a few of my musician friends who they trusted with their instruments. The unanimous vote was for Danny D's. My experience with this company is similarly positive. The staff are both knowledgeable and eager to accommodate the needs of musicians from beginner to advanced or professional. Moreover, the prices of their instruments and services are quite within what you would expect anywhere. I will continue to bring my guitars in for service and would not hesitate to purchase an instrument from what is a quite complete stock of acoustic and electric guitars. Another nice thing about this place is the non-intimidating atmosphere. Some of the guys working here are teachers and you can tell they all want you to go home a happy camper. A novice is much more likely to go home with a guitar that fits the budget and skill level when shopping at a well-stocked and privately operated shop like this. Wouldn't you rather bring your guitar problems back to the guy who sold you the instrument than save a miniscule amount by buying something online you've never played or from a big-box store where you can never be sure if the guy waiting on you really knows his stuff? (This review is geared more toward the hesitant newbie than the experienced player who already knows exactly what I'm talking about.)

Some of the people who run the place can be incredibly rude, but it's the only place that sells and repairs guitar gear (that's not guitar center) in league city, so I guess it's cool
