Stopped by just to browse. Was possibly considering picking up a used or 3/4 guitar for my 8 yr old daughter and I to play around with while in town visiting Ohana. The “above and beyond” customer service, friendliness and product knowledge encouraged me to buy on the spot! I was even taught a tip/trick with a chord I was working on by the staff! Rather small store footprint, but can’t say enough positive things about these “GoodGuys”
Highly recommended!
Thanks again.

Bought a Kala ukulele here. The chap was helpful and somewhat knowledgeable. Prices are decent. And the people are friendly. I suppose they live up to their namesake.

Truly great guys. I went in wanting to buy a Ukulele, not knowing much about them. They easily could have pulled one over on me, but he taught me a bit about them, asked my budget, showed me a few in that range, and tolerated my fumbling around. They went above and beyond and I ultimately walked away with an amazing uke at a great price. Very highly recommend stopping by.

Such a great little shop with wonderful customer service and great prices!
Brian was incredibly helpful in guiding me towards the perfect uke for my needs with zero pressure. Love this place!
Kenneth Calimpong
Amazing customer service, owner Chris restrung my teenage son’s guitar, tuned and adjusted it also. He also shared so much knowledge, I left there feeling really cared for a special. Love supporting small businesses and will be making future purchases at this great store, Mahalos Kenneth

Having vacationed in Honolulu I needed a guitar shop visit and this shop does not disappoint! Recently moved to neighboring island of Maui and "hopped" over and bought a Fender Stratocaster that I really enjoy. Will be back there soon! Mahalo!

What a wonderful little shop! We stopped in to get our granddaughter a ukulele and were greeted by the most friendly staff who recommended a nice little instrument for her! We were very pleased with the price and the service.

A dear friend recommended this store to me. I bought my KoAloha ukuleles here. This store is named perfectly...great service with great prices.
Bob Carl
My wife & I stopped in to look at ukuleles in the >$100 range. We are both experienced musicians including being guitarists but know little about ukes.
This is an "old school" PACKED musical instrument/equipment shop which I am extremely familiar with.
We were helped immediately and shown/handed various sizes/types of ukuleles to try. Our questions were answered fully and we were able to find one that met our needs plus a case & uke book in 20 minutes.
From what I saw on display, they have a good selection of guitars, basses, amplification equipment and accessories.
Ample parking behind the shop, too.

Was looking for a beginner's ukulele. Bob Was very helpful. Heard that Jake Simabukuro, the ukulele master is good friends with The Good Guys music store. Very nice starter ukulele for $65. Worth while to check them out for all your string instrument needs

These guys are great. Just got to the island and was surprised to find this hometown kind of shop near me.They gave me a great deal on a used, like new yamaha acoustic.I later went back to get a setup done on a guitar that played like a log.About 5 hrs. later, they called me and it was done, and now plays like butter. They are very kind , down to earth people.I have nothing but good things to say about this music store. Thanks a lot guys and have a fantastic day. Peace.

Great and friendly service. Lowered the action on my Taylor a few weeks back. I waited for about 5 years to do so. In the past when asking various shops I'd often be told I'd have to wait a week or more, understandable since it was during busier times. But there was never any enthusiasm, kind of just felt like I was annoying them with my request. The guys at "Goodguys Music" were very willing to take a look at my guitar and see what could be done, and they worked fast. Before anyone says "well its a small shop, there's Covid, they probably desperate for business." The 3 times I went in, first to buy some Harps and ask about my Guitar, then drop it off, and then pick it up, They had customers, employees were at work, and these good guys work well. Now, I often cant stop playing. Aloha Guys.
Christa Evans
Excellent service! Great deals. Very knowledgeable.
Greg Allred
These guys really are good. Hiko helped me find the perfect ukulele at half the price of Waikiki shops, and we had lots of fun looking at the great collection of old and new instruments and amps for sale. It's a comfortable old-style music store and they really know their stuff. Even gave us good advice about which bus to take to our next adventure. Really nice and friendly guys.
Mathew Hoffman
Great local music shop. Highly knowledgeable staff.
Elijah Abramo
True to their name they are good guys. As a novice they were very friendly and helpful immediately identifying my needs. They answered every question I had with understanding and joy. From what I could tell they knew their stuff, adapting to any level of guitar or ukulele player. Would recommend!

I was interested in buying a more Hawaiian-style ukulele on my visit here and wanted to go to a store not completely geared toward tourists, and goodguys was the best find! They were so kind and helpful, seriously knew their stuff, had an awesome selection, and even had a used case available to take my new uku home in! Would absolutely recommend!
Ani Olsen

They are so nice, and have very great selection of guitars, basses, and ukuleles. From entry level to some very nice vtg pieces. Excellent service. Very fair pricing. If I lived on Oahu, this would be my go to shop. Thanks guys.
Dillon Voisin
Got my first uke from them a couple days ago. Really fair prices on decent instruments! Staff was really warm and Welcoming. When I asked about accesories he made some reccomendations but he told me honestly what I would and wouldnt need at my budget range. Might come by and pick up some new toys soon just /because/ he didnt try to upsell me. Dont go to waikiki and get touristy junk and/or overpriced items, come here, keep your money local! you guys are true to your name, mahalo! 🤙

Super friendly staff, very knowledgeable, and they have a wide selection of instruments. Pretty good prices, too. This should be your first stop if you're looking for a place to buy a guitar, uke, or similar instrument in Honolulu.

Time flies but when you go back to your roots, it feels like yesterday you walked through the doors. Gary and Bob were awesome as always and it felt good talking to them and hearing from them that they remember me, but I look more different cause of my beard now. It was sad to hear that Clay passed away 3 years ago. All in all they are awesome and they deserve all the business from you guys. Cause, they are the "Good guys".
Dustin Yates
Staffing was very helpful and informed. Great selections of guitars, pedals and amps. They sell new and used and can sometimes make small repairs to guitars.
Christopher Maguire
My guitar had a short in the jack wiring. 10 minutes after bringing it in, they had soldered it back to working order. Charged me next to nothing. My new favorite guitar shop on Oahu.
Bka Iz (BKA Iz)
Super cool shop with extremely fair prices. Check here before you go to Guitar Center.

It takes courage to open the door that you can't see the inside of the store, but when you enter, it's surprisingly deep and has a reasonable number of items, and the staff are friendly and keep a good distance. There are also original picks of this store, so they are perfect for souvenirs (25 cents each!)
nori
A small store full of musical instruments. Is this the cheapest ukulele such as Kamaka or Koaloha?
ぺこ
When I went there, there was a clerk who was fluent in Japanese, and he was very kind and taught me how to find souvenirs for my band members.
It seems to be a shop where people of Japanese descent gather, and some of the regulars can speak Japanese, so I was able to talk to them in a friendly manner.
Since I can't take my guitar home with me, I was able to get suggestions for effectors to buy as souvenirs until I was satisfied with them, and I was able to buy a bargain effector that you can't buy in Japan (at a very low price).
If you have a chance to travel to Honolulu again, this is the shop you want to stop by.
たきち
The Japanese (Nikkei?) Clerk is friendly and will give you various consultations.
They asked me how to bring my electric guitar home, but I gave up because it depends on the airline (inquire about JAL). Even so, he let me try out several guitars without making an unpleasant face.
Matías Nehuen Malpartida
Buy a Suzuki guitar, used to play on the streets of Hawaii. Po 100 greens, a great goal. I asked them for a cover and they were 40, which didn't make sense. So I asked them if they had any kind of bag...and they brought me an old guitar case and all frayed!! They fixed it with scissors and a rope and gave it to me for free!! Very friendly! Really GOOOOOOD GUYS!! These people appreciate music and musicians!!
