This shop is a hidden gem in Honolulu, with tons of rare & hard to find music from Hawaii and a great selection of used vinyl for diggers to browse. Roger is super friendly & helpful, he helped me pick out some unreal cassette tapes (and threw in one for free! 🤫) to play in my ride. I send locals & visitors alike to AGS-HNL, they’re doing a tremendous service for music lovers in the islands!

Was stoked to find out that AGS had a brick and mortar shop and stopped by here during my first visit to Hawaii. So much love for local community and history here. There's an eclectic selection of records, most notably from local Hawaii artists and music scenes as well as a nice selection of vinyl from Japan (folk, jazz, city pop, etc). Shop owner Roger was a pleasure to talk to and was very helpful. AGS is also a music label that releases contemporary artists and reissues local music from the past. Always great releases, and you can find them in=store. Can't wait to visit again!

Definitely my favorite record store here in Hawaii. I come here at least once a month to dig for gems and I always go home with something new since they are always well stocked. The store is very clean, organized, has a nice calming aesthetic, and most importantly cool music always being played here (actual records, no Spotify here lol). Owner Roger Bong and his crew are the best. They are always friendly and helpful here and always make me feel welcome. If you are a music lover, DJ, vinyl collector, or someone who is just curious about vinyl records and want to get into it, this is definitely the right place to be!

These excellent people have a diverse collection of used vinyl and an extensive array of new and old Hawaiian music on all formats, including cassette. They are all music junkies and make everyone feel like part of the club. They might even offer you a beer if you’re a good boy. God bless AGS!

One of my favorite record stores on island, especially for Japanese imported vinyl. Staff is extremely friendly and love to chat and help whenever you need it. Although the store itself is small, I'd definitely recommend checking it out – there's so many gems and the community is just amazing. Other nearby stores along the street are also some of my favorites on island.

Awesome shop. I knew when I was preparing for my trip to Oʻahu that I needed to drop by and I'm glad that I did. I already had a bunch of records from their label and placed a few online orders from their site, but it was great actually stopping in, digging through records in person and chopping it up with the staff, while listening to some great tunes. Aside from getting some great music recommendations, we also got a few local food recommendations, which were also on point. Super friendly staff and an all around awesome shop and label. I recently placed an online order and they threw in a bunch of freebies, which was a cool surprise. I'm looking forward to stopping by again during my next visit and seeing what they release next. AGS FTW! 🤙

I love everything about AGS. They’re so thoughtful in the music they curate and they’re always down to talk story. I feel like I can just browse the bins and grab anything that looks interesting and I’m gonna be happy when I get home and play it. They’ve changed the way I listen to music and that’s absolutely not hyperbole.

Small record store with a sizable selection of local music in a welcoming atmosphere. Picked up a few CDs with the help of a knowledgeable staff.
Shout out to Oliver for putting me on to Mo Illa Pillaz. Great stuff.

Visited AGS in September and it was honestly the best record shop I've been to on the island. Super welcoming and amazing little store and Roger is such a cool dude. Appreciate it guys!

The place is great! The staff is very nice and the store has a good variety of music on vinyl, from jazz, Japanese city pop, ambient, electronic, local Hawaiian music, funk, soul and etc.

What a great experience! I've bought AGS vinyl before so I had to check out their brick and mortar store while I was here. Super glad I did!! Friendly staff, awesome local music selection, even some rare hip hop gems here.
Don't let the size fool you... If you stock great music, you don't need a huge store.
Mahalo!! 🥰

Great shop. Lots of local artist too. Roger and staff were super friendly and helpful. Had a Johnny Cash I’ve been looking for too. Small space but lots of selections. Aloha and smiles.

This is hands down the best record store in Hawaii. Maybe top 10 globally. The owners know their stuff, are kind, helpful and also seem like genuinely good people. Lots of rare and thoughtful records to choose from- Hawaiian, City Pop, etc. And their label’s reissues are doing god’s work by shining a light on often overlooked aspects of Hawaiian music. Great merch as well. Can’t recommend this place enough. The vibes are so right! Thanks guys!

Wow, I had a great day crate digging in Honolulu and I was fortunate enough to rescue a few gems. But the highlight was meeting the label/shop owner of AGS (Aloha Got Soul)!! BIG thanks and congrats to Roger Bong for unearthing, curating and reissuing classic soulful Hawaiian music. The shop has a clean sharp and pleasant modern vibe, and the staff is super knowledgeable and friendly. I loved digging in this shop! So many labels and records I've never seen before .. which is always a pleasant surprise for the avid vinyl junkie. My only regret was not picking up one of those stylish hats or t-shirts on my way out! Great shop, music, and hospitality. Recommended!

This is my favorite record shop in town! Whenever I walk in to take a look, I always end up walking out with a couple new records to add to my collection. Roger and Lei, who run Aloha Got Soul, are also super friendly, accommodating, and have recommended some great music from the selection they carry.
They have a wonderful curated selection of records across various genres- Japanese groove, soul, jazz, world, ambient, hip hop, local music, and more. I especially appreciate their Japanese groove and City Pop selection, which is relatively difficult to find unless you are in Japan. They also sell apparel and music related merchandise.
Please visit them, they are truly the best!

Stopped in whilst visiting Hawai'i cuz my Aunty stay up the street on Fern. Already a big fan of AGS releases and reissues so I copped one or two but mans in charge played me a couple used records on the store speakers when i asked if they had a listening station and I then bought what i wanted. A+ experience, a must if you like to dig and you're visiting Hawai'i.

First time visiting Honolulu and decided to check out the record stores, had a fantastic time in Aloha Got Soul and would recommend to anyone in a heartbeat! Oliver was very friendly and knowledgeable, best shop I’ve been to in a long long time.

Visiting from LA, Ca. this was the only record shop i visited on the island. Clerk was really nice and informed me that they are also a label that puts out local Hawaiian music! I'm not very familiar with Hawaiian music history but I still took home a super clean 1982 French copy of "Song for My Father" by Horace Silver Quintet as well as a few 7" singles. Great shop and super friendly clerk! Drop by!!

Vacationing in Hawaii and couldn’t help but make time to stop at record store. Absolutely loved this shop. Roger was super helpful and suggested some great music from local artists and peaked my interest with some 80’s J-Pop. Hope to make it back to the island for another visit soon!

The best vinyl shop in Honolulu, esp if you are looking for Hawaiian music. They also have their own record label and press some amazing music. I only had 10 mins on the way to the airport, but can’t wait to come back! A gem of a shop. The owners are a treasure. Mahalo AGS for existing! ❤️

Shouts Out big time to AGS, and Roger & Lei for being incredibly welcoming to newcomers. I remember coming into the shop for the first time, just looking around, debating if wanted to start a new collection. As I was diggin, I overheard some sweet gospel music playing. Started choppin it up with the shop owner and asked if I wanna go through some gospel records, and of course I said yes! I walked out with some gospel, a dope $3 record from Edmund Sylvers, and a new local shop to support. That's who Roger and Lei are at Aloha Got Soul, music geeks helping out other music geeks, or beginners, find what they're looking for! 10/10 would do it again! #MUSTSAMP

Great shop that has music that you would not expect hawaii to have. Roger and Leo are super nice and helpful. Though the shop is small, there are a lot of hidden gems in there.
Eric Cruz-Alvarado
This record store has so many different records to choose from and the owners Roger and Lei are super down to earth! Just from entering the store you feel invited! This shop is a MUST if you like digging for records!
Hello Joebo
So happy to have a growing street with shops that are like this. A curated record shop by a local couple who care about the tone they promote.
Their care for the environment is prevalent with choices of recycled wood from wahiawa used for their displays. And packaging for shipping straight from Kapolei.
They also are a record label that feature soul full, new local artists. Alongside hearty, nostalgic re-issues.
Mahalo for bringing the Aloha to the block and the soul.
Aloha got soul record shop is a warm and welcoming environment to come dig, talk story and chill out.
Asato Family Shop
