Not bad. Bought my first guitar yesterday. Staff doesn’t seem very happy. No one ask if you need any help just stare at you from behind the counter. Bought a new guitar online it didn’t say open box which is a different price. Guitar looked perfect condition so I didn’t say much. Store seemed very well stocked. Military discount is awesome!

I purchased a giant speaker from them online; it stopped working after the first use. I brought it to the store to exchange, and the staff were very friendly and helpful! Jamie in the Pro Audio area even helped me bring in the old speaker from my truck and brought the new one back out! No hassle over the return. Very friendly, and quick service!

Excellent Customer Service! Had an issue with a bass guitar that was shipped to me. Returned it to this location for an exchange. JAKE went above and beyond to call 4 or 5 other Guitar Centers to make sure that the replacement bass guitar was in excellent condition, before having it shipped to me. Im a drumer and its great they have all the things I need. The staff is very friendly and the first rime I went to get new heads I dident know what size they were and one of the staff members helped me out. Some of items are expensive but tolaly worth it I recomend this place to any people that play a instrument. I also play Alto sax and they have sacaphones, flutes, cairenets, and trumpets. They can also provide lessons of you are geting started on a instrument.

Great service, they ordered the keyboard I wanted since it wasn’t in stock and sent it to my house. Also when browsing I appreciate that they gave me some time to look and play around before asking if I needed any help. Very friendly staff, will definitely go back.

Pretty good shop with good options. Staff was okay, they kinda seemed like they didn’t want me to touch the expensive guitars. Pretty good pricing, seemed like they tried to work with me. That being said some employees were more knowledgeable than others but that’s to be expected. Walked out with a Les Paul.

The people there are friendly and willing to help. The only reason 4 out of 5 stars is the staff that was there on the day I came didn't seem to know much about ukuleles. The information I was given was basic and I could find online. I was interested on the different types of woods and what makes one better than the other. If you try to find that online you get lost down the rabbit hole. I did end up buying one from them and so far very happy with it. I'm sure I will return.

I walked into the store not knowing my deceased dad was gonna hit me like it did!! I was crying and trying to hold back but i couldn't and I felt bad cause the man that waited on me didn't know how to take it... but he was great and had a lot of respect for how I was feeling at the time so, yes great place and very very gentle men that work there!! I absolutely love shopping at guitar center!! I buy all my DJ gear from them and will continue to do so for years to come. The staff are very friendly and helpful/knowledgeable about any piece of gear. It's really nice being able to listen to speakers or try out equipment before you buy it. Rentals are great if you can't fork out the money to buy a few extra subwoofers for an event. I highly recommend you do all your musical related shopping here.

I typically shop local but local hours can be tricky on a weekend. This location does not take Apple Pay. Stock levels are limited on certain items. Otherwise the staff were cheery and helpful. I’ve honestly never had a bad experience here. Thankful they were open when I was in a pinch.

The staff works great. I bought a used DJ controller from the website, and they educated me on the computer steps I need it to take to get the new drivers in operation, finally got it together and even though it works, all the faders needed to be changed and instead of returning it which, Guitar Center gave me the choice to, I'm going to keep it and take it to Pioneer and get it rebuilt.

It's a toy store for musicians, what more can I say. Go in and fondle all the instruments you want, haha. The staff is great here, very friendly and helpful. Wish they had a little better selection on bass amplifiers. Had an awesome selection of guitar amps though.

I’m not a loyal guitar center customer, since their drum selection isn’t the strongest, but Cole helped me pick out a nice midi controller, was extremely helpful and when he didn’t know the answer to something was honest about it and helped find the answer.

Truly stunned. Over the past month I’ve dealt with guitar center a dozen times with random issues and concerns and every single time I left happy. Customer service at the call centers were AMAZING! Had to call this store at least 6 times and each time everyone knew what they were doing and I didn’t question the process one bit. Genuinely every request I had was met with a no problem attitude from each person I spoke to. This was my first time ever working with guitar center on a complicated issue and each employee seriously went above and beyond each time. I know there is multiple Jakes at this store but one specific one really helped me out. And Matas from the call center helped in all sorts of ways and even gave me his work hours and work email so I can contact him if any other issues came. Guitar center really blew my expectations away. I love our new piano!

The staff is always very helpful and knowledgeable about the products they sell. I got a bass guitar setup and new strings and I'm very pleased with the results. I like they have a app so I can see what's in stock and look at prices. With the "wish list" feature you can save the guitars so when you get to the store you can easily try the ones you're considering buying.

Amazing place to go to I went into the acoustic, classical, flamenco, etc. guitar isle and every guitar I went to and played was in tune. The staff is extremely friendly and patient the guitars are very nice, clean, they have bright tones and sounds. Even on 4th of July during a pandemic they are there to greet you kindly offering masks and offering help. If I could id give guitar center more than 5 stars they are one of the best guitar retail stores around. 👍

I went to Guitar Center to see what kind of prices their acoustic guitars were, not really looking to buy that day. Upon entering, I was blown away by all the guitars hanging from floor to ceiling. I was quickly greeted by a store associate, that kindly showed me to their humidity controlled side room that is solely dedicated to acoustic guitars. After a few questions from the associate, he guided me towards a few models that fit my needs. I took my time playing a few and ended up purchasing one that was on sale and at such a good price, I couldn't pass it up! I highly recommend checking them out. This was my first time going there and I will definitely go back!

I had gone to buy a Yamaha Acoustic. Great place. Great People. Great selection. Couldn't recommend this place more to anyone interested in the music field. Note: They have everything pretty much within music. The people are very open to questions and learn so much from there. The person who sold me my guitar was named Paul, great employee and answered all my questions.

Great selection of new and used instruments. Helpful and very knowledgeable employees. If you are a beginner, don’t worry about feeling intimidated because the employees are very nice and can explain any questions you may have. Prices are fairly competitive.I would suggest going during a promotion, usually on holidays, if you are looking for an instrument that is not too special. Instruments like higher end Taylor guitars, for example, don’t usually have promotions on them. They will also buy instruments but I have never sold any to them. so I don’t know what kind of prices they give. Other than that a great place to go for beginners and professionals alike. I own three guitars now and I never bought them anywhere else but Guitar Center because it’s hard to find a better price. Plus you have the benefit of actually seeing the guitar before you buy and being help by an knowledgeable staff member.

It's a big store full of musical instruments. Buy something or annoy the employees. I usually get a pack of strings and a few picks just so I don't feel like I'm loitering. Not my favorite store in the area, but definitely the biggest selection. Their used wall always has something cool on it.

Not gonna lie when to the store for the first time and it was awesome. The displays and chill vibes makes you feel welcome and relaxed. They do all they can and then some to make you feel assured in your purchase. While I was a bystander and giving this review as a bystander as my friend bought a guitar and stuff the store was cool. Definitely some place I wish I could visit more but I'm from a VERY remote part of PA and I didn't even know this chain was like a thing.

Very large music store. They have a large selection of instruments as well as accessories. The employees were helpful and friendly. They also offer lessons and it looked like they also have an option for renting instruments. I also noticed they have a financing option for those who qualify. Overall a great place for music lovers and a good environment to hang out and chat about the same.

I live in Detroit and was looking for a pedal that Southfield and Canton didn’t have in stock. A Southfield employee told me that the Kentwood store was the only store that had my pedal in stock. I called Kentwood before making the 4 hour drive and spoke with Jamie. Jamie was way more knowledgeable. His store didn’t have the pedal in stock as Southfield claimed. But he was able to find it for me, new in box, and he had it shipped to my house.

Have dealt with this location several years now. Typically they offer a fair price if you sell used gear, sometimes more than what I paid on their website. In the past, they had a limited selection, focusing on clientele that could afford the likes of Gibson, Fender, Marshall, etc. However the trend after the remodel has been more variety, used gear, especially vintage gear that is interesting to see and try in comparison to the new gear next to it. They offer rental services, lessons and repairs. Would recommend if you are in the area and are in a rush for gear, maintenance, or want to see some vintage gear.

This store is cool. The sales staff are very knowledgeable and do not try to sell you nonsense junk. I love how you can walk into departments that specialize in one general thing; it's insanely easy to find what you are looking for. Their prices are on par with their competitors, which is to be expected, but their sales are really good! The prices on used gear are pretty good as well, just don't buy used and then have it shipped because it will cost you. As I was leaving the sales rep had me pull my car up front and he helped me load my new gear. Great experience.

I wish I could remember the guy's name that helped me, but can't right now. He was an amazing help. I had an entertainer scheduled who didn't have his own sound system like our other acts. I was in a rush but needed to know some basics on how to operate the setup. He gave me a thorough crash course and set me up with a great set of speakers along with some accessories and a light. He wasn't pushy and only suggested quality and convenient, but affordable options. I hoghly recommend this location if even half the staff is as good as him.

I was buying a new electric guitar. I'm a beginner and was kinda nervous at 1st, I had Brit as a helper he was awesome and helped me along with ease hooking me up with stuff with lifetime warranty's. He was also busy as people where coming into the store left and right but still managed to spend the time to help me make a good purchase and be happy and was not rude at all. I went in as a beginner guitar player about a year ago. I was just browsing for a style and brand I liked. After the trip, I went home and online to their website and purchase a guitar that caught my eye. The guitar came from another store but it was shipped and ready for me to pick up in just a short amount of time. The staff was nice in approaching me and although I was too afraid to plug a guitar in and play, they were very understanding of the whole beginner phase. It was a great experience and I'll definitely be back again shortly.

Every time that I have been there the staff have always been incredibly helpful and patient, and it is apparent that they are enthusiastic about music. Prices here are good, and it is a good place to go to have your questions answered or try a product out.

I really like our local Grand Rapids Guitar Center. The employees are always very helpful, and eager to help. When product problems arise there quick to help with a fix. They went above and beyond for me when my Blues Junior 3 had issues. Being close to the end of the model year I would imagine they were probably pretty hard to get your hands on, as they are now on version 4 for 2018. Thanks again Mike and Jim for all your help. I have bought and sold items there a few times. The trade-in prices suck, but you will get that anywhere. They do give a 10% discount if you are trading to Upgrade.

My experience with the staff, specifically, Devon and Paul was an OUTSTANDING one. They were knowledgeable and friendly and very attentive to my needs. I've been a Professional musician since 1977 and my work as a songwriter and musician has been heard in Horror movies around the planet, including a #1 hit record in Italy and Devon and Paul helped me reach my necessary goals. I will certainly return to this Guitar Center Store time and time again. A note to management: Don't lose these two guys, they are a positive asset to your company.

We stopped by here to get some jazz drum brushes and mallets for our vibraphone. Guitar Center is a good place to go for Guitar supplies but they also stock a wide variety of percussion instruments and accessories, sheet music, and supplies for other instruments. We've taken guitars here for repairs and they were very reasonable. I was surprised that you can also get sax and clarinet reeds here.

This music store had all you could ever need for a guitar. Actually, a huge selection! We were shopping for a gift for a friend and we could have used a bit of help, but didn't really know who to ask. There were a few guys in there playing guitars (we weren't sure if they were working there or customers), but finally when we went up to pay, one of them came to the register to check us out. We probably should have just asked, but didn't want to interrupt.

Usually love going to guitar center to have any work done on my guitars that need it, however, I recently needed my tuners replaced on a guitar and when I got it back there was glue all over the tuners and the tuner I wanted replaced was still cracked. Messy tech work but overall it's not horrible.

Drum guys are great and will help you with any questions/issues you have with your drums, and even though they are motivated by sales and commission, (as everyone in the store is) they are at least easier to talk with and it seems they themselves enjoy talking about anything related to drums.The guitar guys are pricks. Maybe it is just my experience. They'll answer questions sure, but as others have shared, will do what they can to get to your wallet. Also, they are not the friendliest. Recently I was there looking for a new electric guitar, I asked to try one out, a guitar guy handed it to me hesitantly and asked "Now, are you thinking of buying?" What does it look like. Also as I was talking and asking questions this guy would not make eye contact with me. What kind of customer service is that?Overall if you are into drums, its a good place--I guess it has to be since there are not many drum retailers around that can compete. But if you're a guitar player, try some local shops. Wouldn't we rather give them the business anyways?

If you want great selection and competitve prices, this place is great...but don't shop[ there if you don't already know almost exactly what you want. Their huge stock is second to none, but it was obvious on my two visits to the store that they work on commission...and they're pretty shameless about it. I needed a simple guitar cable (first time I've ever owned an electrified guitar), and the first one recommended by the sales guy was $85: the most expensive cable on the rack. Really?! I bought a different lifetime-guaranteed cable, which fit my description of what I had told him I wanted EXACTLY, for less than $20. I also wanted to buy a new set of strings, Elixirs were the most expensive strings on the rack, and the first ones he tried to sell me on. (I've used coated Elixirs before and loved them, so I actually took those)... and when I came back in again to have a pin added to the beautiful used guitar I'd just traded for, the repair guy spent the entire time he was doing the job basically telling me I'd gotten shafted and that it is a piece of worthless junk. He made sure to tell me that the work it needed would far exceed the value of the instrument. He then said "well...just have fun playing it" (the implication was, "while you can"). Even HE seemed to be trying to maneuver me into scrapping my smooth-as-butter sounding older, used guitar and buying a new one from them. The selection at RIT Music on Plainfield is FAR smaller, but they don't insult my intelligence, trying to sell me WAY more than I need. And they don't demean my equipment...they just help me take care of it. I'd rather order something I have to wait for from people I trust to help me make good and appropriate decisions than go someplace where I can pull anything off the shelf immediately, but where I don't feel I can trust the advice of the staff. In short, if you KNOW what your doing, and if you KNOW what you want, Guitar Center is a lovely place of business. But if you're like me - more of an amatuer - you're better off shopping online than swimming with the sharks in the waters of Guitar Center in Kentwood.
