Holy cow what can I say. This place is packed full of music. Called a few places and asked for a specific album and most of the places said you can come in and look. This place said hold on a minute and literally put the phone down and picked it right back up again and said yep it is right here. Fun place to visit and if you are into music whether it be on vinyl or CD this is the place.

I visited Red Rooster for the first time New Year's eve and was beyond impressed. By far the best selection of classic rock vinyl I have found in town with great quality and clear/honest statements of any known issues. I found far more than I was looking for (to the point I just had to stop looking). I have a feeling this place will continue to have a detrimental effect on my bank account for a long time!

I visited Red Rooster Records shop today. I had to sell some of my records, started new job, but pay day is next week. Very very happy, He bought most of my records. 200.00 talk about picking jaw up off the ground. Thank you so much, I'll be back to buy back my records. Of course alittle at a time. The employee that's always there, I'm guessing the owner, is kind of rude and always seems annoyed that I'm even in there but the vinyl selection is the best in town so you still get 5 stars!!

Passed through Des Moines for the first time in years, and this place was tops! Matt was a fun guy to talk to, and I found some nice, harder-to-find 45s at reasonable prices. I’d recommend this place to more serious record fans more so than casual vinyl newbies.

Owner was nice and personable. He took the time to look through hundreds of 45 records only to find about 10 that were ones he wanted. I even offered to give him the rest and he declined. I feel he was very honest and patient to go through all of those for just a few worth his time.
