Great guitar shop! Stopped in on my way through town needed a power supply and an adapter. Super friendly environment with a nice selection of gear to suit just about any needs.The dude even pointed out I had a mono adapter when checking out. This was helpful since I needed stereo saving me later frustration as I was able to grab the right one from them. Not only do they have the goods they were looking out for folks as well!

I took my bass an my dean to this shop two Sundays ago, they told me it would be two weeks. Not a big deal, I got them back before Christmas, they look the best they in awhile. They cleaned them up so very well that I can't help but state at my dean. They look, feel an play better then they did before they were fixed. I bought my dean from this store an will only do my repair business through these lovely gents. Highly recommended doing business through them, they will treat you right everytime.

Went to guitar center before my visit, has an absolutely awful experience and decide to go to pro music afterwards since it was close by. I was immediately helped and guided to my first guitar. This place is my second home. I found this place probably 5 years ago and I refuse to buy gear anywhere else because the service and quality is just light years above the rest. Trent is an awesome guy and is very knowledgeable when it comes to gear and good music! Ian is the best tech I’ve ever done business with, he’s done work on my 1974 Martin acoustic and made it play better than it ever has, as well as a TON of work on my telecaster, and other electrics and he is very attentive to individual needs and preferences. Again, I refuse to go to anyone or anywhere else for my repair, mods, and upkeep. The rest of the staff, Flynn, Jake, Joey, Eli, and Phil are all so great and passionate about their jobs. Best customer service of any shop I’ve been to. Like I said , I just go in every week to check out new gear, hang out and talk with the staff and they welcome me like family regardless of whether I purchase anything or not!

I chose to take in my guitar today based on the reputation that the store has built over the years. I bought my first drum kit from Fred in the late 80's. I looked online as a new guitar owner and saw that the store was requiring masks. I would have chosen not to go in if I knew some employees were not following what it clearly stated online. Other customers were walking in freely without masks as well. If you don't require masks, remove it from the info given to the public so they can make an informed decision. The employee who helped me wore a mask and was extremely helpful, honest, friendly and fantastic to work with. Please remove "masks required" if that is not the policy.

I have bought several guitars there, taken lessons for years, and will continue to do both. Please support local business so we don't lose places like this. You do not get this kind of support and community at a big box store.

Fred was a great man, and he'd be proud of the shop today! My kids and I were treated very well, and (Trent?) plugged my kids in and let them try out some different bass's and guitars. It was 15 min to close and I let him know we were just looking, but we were still treated like old friends and guests!! SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESS!

I went here on a whim and I was blown away by how professional and friendly the staff were. I really loved the cozy and relaxed atmosphere inside the store too. Despite its size, their store still retained an unexpectedly impressive selection of products. After I’d selected my guitar, they even performed a free, thorough setup (They also gave me a hell of a deal). Future setups are free throughout the life of the guitar, I don’t know of any place that does this! I am over the moon after visiting and I’ll be recommending this store to anyone looking for a new instrument.

Got my dad a Stratocaster and my Marshall amp from these guys many years ago and just bought my new Martin acoustic from them. I've also had my guitars serviced here over the years as well. Keep coming back because they always treat me good. No pressure sales, they truly just want me to get the right instrument. Always a great experience.

Didn't end up finding what I was looking for (so I havent actually purchased anything from the store), but the guy working the front was super friendly and helpful in trying to help me, suggested other music shops that may have what I was looking for (music instruction materials, not really this store's main focus), and welcomed me to Iowa as a new resident! Cool guy. Browsed around for a while. They've got a fantastic selection of guitars and basses. Definitely a must-visit for all guitar-related needs.

This is not the big music store but is big enough. I have made this place my go to place for music equipment. If you were not happy they're not happy and that is really good in the business these days. I bought my Martin guitar as well as my amp and other equipment. Flynn and Trent are both stand up guys and will see to it you are satisfied. You can spend as much or as little as you want and you will always be treated professionally as opposed to other stores I have been to. If you are in the market for some pro gear give pro music a try. If they don't stock it they will order it.

Four years ago,I bought a 2004 MIM Fender Stratocaster from here that was in fantastic shape and plays like a dream! I also, have a Fender CD-140SCE Acoustic-Electric Guitar that badly needed a set up and the input jack was not working and I was seriously considering selling it but instead I brought it to Pro Music Center to get their opinion. They did a setup on the spot, fixed the input jack and polished the fret board and sanded the frets. Now it is so much easier to play and sounds great! They are the best guitar store I've found in Iowa!

This place is pretty good and the owner is really cool to deal with but some of the sales people are not so good. I was there looking for an amp and I was talking to one of the sales people and he gets a guitar plugs in the amp and just keeps playing and playing the guitar not saying much about the amp maybe a little but not enough to make the sale plus I didn't even get to try it out .I think he was more into trying to sale himself and his guitar skills, band and how many years he's been playing. I will go there but I'm dealing with that guy. Very unprofessional I did deal with a younger kid and he was very good.

We didn't need a Guitar Center. We have PMC. When the original owners decided to sell it was a sad time for a lot of players. Trent stepped in and saved the name. Made it more modern and provides excellent service. Good and knowledgeable staff. I highly recommend this place. I shop here all the time.

I bought an acoustic Fender a few years back from another shop and recently started playing it again a month or so ago. Anyway, I had some concerns about how my guitar fit and the overall condition of my guitar, so I took it to these guys— Jake K. was happy to help and took a solid 20 minutes of his time to sit down and check out my guitar with me and answer all my questions. He is very knowledgeable and friendly, and I felt zero pressure to buy anything. I walked out 20 minutes later without spending a dime, yet I felt so welcome. That’s how you do “sales”! I am now a customer for life and will be back to the Professional Music Center for all my musical needs. Highly recommend!

Some of the best people to deal with when it comes to musical equipment. They're not a big box store and know how to treat their customers. They made me feel welcome the moment I first ever walked into the store. Trent, the owner is generally there and always wanting to help customers. Best customer service around. I really like buying my equipment here as they stand behind what they sell. I recently bought a wireless for a guitar called X-Vive U2. First time using it, it lost the signal from 6 feet away. It continued to be a problem so I talked to Flynn about it and we both agreed to try some different things per his experience and the manufacturer. Ultimately nothing fixed it and more than once I had to fall back on using my cord, which anyone using a wireless should always pack a cord. Flynn had told me on the first call that I could bring it back for a different one because they don’t want customers to be unhappy and that is what I did. Wow! This new one works perfect! No issues at all at practice or gigs and I love not being tied to a cord. Service like this is why I keep spending my time and money here and will continue to do so. They have a wide variety of equipment from beginner to Pro. I’d love to be able to buy more pro equipment but my budget falls slightly lower. Well, except in guitars. It was a difficult choice between Martin and Taylor. Martin won and I love it and the Fishman amp I got with it. Both are outstanding and sound great! If you are looking for great service and equipment look no further.

Great selection of high end guitars. I was there to get a new set of strings and check-up on a vintage Les Paul. The guitar tech was awesome! I was treated with total respect like I was a returning customer but this was the first time I used them for tech work. I will reccomend them to all my friends.

Prices are very reasonable, and plenty of variety in the inventory make it the ideal place to shop. With almost every guitar in reach to grab and play, theres no question on why people always come back.

These young musicians have no customer service skills and often ignore customers. At first it seems like they're giving you time and space to browse but when it is time to make a purchase you have to chase them down!

This is the best guitar shop in Iowa, maybe the Midwest. They carry everything from budget to boutique, vintage to modern, and a lot in between too. Customer service is great, and they remember who you are too. I'm not putting the nation wide chains down, but when you can get this good of price, selection, and service from a local company why go anywhere else? The guitar selections are excellent and covers Fender, Gibson, PRS, and even some off brands for budget selections, and effect pedals... don't bother going anywhere else in town for that, no one, and I mean NO ONE has the selection of quality effects that are available here. They have a decent selection of bass's and amps too, bottom line is we are lucky to have a guitar shop like this in town that is locally owned!

As a first time visitor you might miss them. Their (larger) part of the building has no easily seen road sign. You will see the bike store in front and wonder if they are gone. This being said they have ridiculously cool Fenders, Gibsons, The big 2 upper end acoustic brands, great bass gear and much more. Well worth seeing.

Trent and the gang really know what they are talking about in the area of musical instruments, especially guitars, basses, and amps (no drums or keyboards), and they service what they sell. Also, professional level equipment, not cheap CE stuff. They take time with you and get to know their customers (like me) by name. I HIGHLY recommend stopping here first, before going to any of the other music stores. Just like the name says, this truly is a first rate professional music center.

Friendly knowledgeable staff who went out of their way to help us. My husband had already gone to guitar center looking for a tuning peg to replace his broken one. The staff there were mostly unhelpful and semi rude (except for one guy who said that we should check pro music center!). Our experience here was the opposite! The men (I think one was the owner) were very helpful and not at all pushy. They didn't want us to have to buy a whole new set of pegs to just replace the one so looked through what they had in spare parts, they do repairs there and had a lot of stuff to look through. They felt bad they couldn't find what we were looking for and said they would continue to search and would have it next time we came. It's a very cool eclectic shop and very worth going to.

I brought my amp in to have the tubes swapped, thinking that it would be something that I didn't have the technical knowledge for. Turns out, with my amp, the new tubes just need to be plugged in. These guys took the back panel off my amp, walked me through replacing the tubes, burned the tubes in, and tested the amp in a span of a bit over 30 minutes. All this for $10. Plus, I didn't mind browsing their huge selection of guitars and pedals while I waited. If you play guitar, this place is worth your business.
