Reviews of Twist & Shout Records

Visited while on vacation and was impressed with the volume of both new and used vinyl and several listening stations throughout the store to check out albums before purchasing-a great option for the used vinyl and the listening stations included very nice turntables, amps and headphones. I've never seen that quantity and quality of listening stations! Also lots of CDs (both new and used) as well. There was also a smaller room dedicated to video. They also had used audio equipment for sale as well as replacement needles for most turntables. When I'm the store, you are surrounded by posters, concert flyers, biographies and other related books. Basically, if you like music and are in Denver, you need to check out this store!

Amazing large selection of CD’s & Vinyl.
Very organized, very important to us to help us find music easier.
Also small DVD & Blu-ray selection.
Tom Stewart
I saw plenty of fun things here. Good spot for some records to see. Very elegant editions of your favorite tunes, along with tons of pop culture and fun around. :)

Checked this place out during my visit to Denver and I was honestly impressed by their vinyl catalogue, they had so many records that I typically don’t see in my local record store in Dallas.
All in all, it’s a great record store, but I have to give it 4 stars because they sold me a bootleg “Tyler, the Creator - Cherry Bomb” record even though the cashier said it was an official pressing. Once I opened the record it was obvious it was a boot, I’d hope the cashier just didn’t know better, but paying $50 for a bootleg sure sucks.

Fun shop, interesting people to talk to. Basically every employee is super involved in music collection/production/invested listening. Sometimes prices are a bit questionable, but I'm more than happy to support a local shop that cares about preserving music history.

You guys have great customer service but most importantly helped me get a copy of the neighborhood I love you album on vinyl. I searched high and low for this one. I didn't pay 200 bucks for a used copy is all I'm saying. Definitely going to continue shopping with y'all

Twist and shout has one of the most expansive and best selection of artists of vinyl of many record stores I’ve been to
That being said I do not recommend special ordering records from them at all. When I requested to special order an important album to me, the clerk quoted me $33. When it arrived, they charged me $47 and I was in a rush so didn’t have time to contest it, thinking I could just come back and contest that cost. The record is findable many places online for $33-36 so if figured it must be pricing mistake
Turns out, they don’t allow returns on vinyl for any reason period. Disappointing. Guess I’ll take that business somewhere else

I'm a local, 67 now, and was a DJ when I was 16. I've been to record stores in Reno/Cincinnati/Memphis/Louisville/Lexington + Atlanta in the past three years. This outfit stands tall above anything I found there. I've shopped here off and on for 30 years, and I am now officially impressed. Consistent quality/pricing/grading and customer service, other than that, nothing to recommend them.
Michael Havill
Amazing store of mostly new records/cds/movies/toys. They'll order if they don't have what you're looking for. Sometimes you get a free poster or something with a specific purchase. Really cool staff.

I always love coming here. It's such a great experience searching for the things I have on my list! From old horror movies to classic albums on vinyl or CD, or new releases. But lately the staff acts like it's a burden when you come to check out or (God forbid) ask a question about something. I was in today and witnessed many Eye Rolls when someone came to the counter to pay or when asking a question. And when I walk in I always say Hi to who's ever at the counter but never get a greeting back. Even when I check out I say Hello and ask how they're doing and I never even get a response. Just don't expect good customer service when you come here. There are a lot of other record stores who make you feel more welcome!
Valentina Contreras
Visited while in Denver, it is probably one of my favorite record stores. They had so much variety both new and used! Will look forward to visiting again.
Jeff Donahoo
Just came into twist and shout after seeing that they had a record I have been wanting to have for years on their discogs page. The staff were super kind and let me listen to the album before buying it because I was concerned about a couple of scratches that they mentioned on their online post about the record. I have to say their discogs is very detailed, their staff are super accommodating, and they also took $20 off for me because I made the effort to come down to their store in person. Thank you so much TWIST AND SHOUT! I’m stoked to go home and listen to this record.
Alex LaFever
Huge assortment of new and used DVDs, CDs, Tapes and various memorabilia. Very knowledgeable staff that are happy to special order any products not on the shelves. Nice selection of used turntables and speakers as well.
Elliot Klimowski
Great record shop. I was there shopping for metal on CD, and they have a pretty robust selection. Mostly new. Also had some of the deluxe editions of some of the more prominent releases in the genre.
Matt Slayter
This is generally a great store with a huge selection, but be careful. They knowingly sell bootleg vinyl pressings without any sort of marking or distinction. I found two albums that I know have never had official pressings (Kanye's Yeezus and The Life of Pablo). When I asked the person at the counter about them, he acknowledged that he knew they were bootleg. They were selling for $40 a piece, and had no sticker or anything marking them as unofficial pressings. I messaged the company privately on FB and did not get a response. Make sure you research the records you're buying!
Amber Martinez
Did some shopping on Christmas Eve, and I found exactly what I was looking for. The staff was very kind and personable. I've been shopping at Twist & Shout for years, and they've never done me wrong.
Kayla Newcomb
Made a short trip to Denver recently and was so glad my friend took me to Twist & Shout! On top of the great vinyl selection, the collection of music paraphernalia and decor was amazing. Just got into vinyl in the past few years and this has been my favorite shop to visit so far.
Also not mad about the fact that we found one of Taylor Swift's limited autographed CD copies of Evermore here...

Ever since I was a teen, I've been coming to T&S for over 25 years. I still have the rush of adrenaline when I hear something new. It's like I'm 16 all over again.
Dennis Katona
very cool record store. they have a separate room for dvds. lots of awesome records and collectibles. i bought a bill hicks cd here that i have been searching a long time for.
Steve Replogle
This is a great record store, one of the best I've ever visited, and I am sixty, so you know I was around during the golden age of record stores. I remember bigger places like Peaches Records, Tower Records, Sound Warehouse, Independent Records. There were some great smaller places, too, like Jerry's Record Exchange, Jazz Record Revival, and Recycle Records. There are still a few great record stores these days - well, at least Denver still has Wax Trax, and a few others that are maybe not so great. Regardless, Twist & Shout is the best of 'em all, and always has been. I constantly come across rare and strange items there. Odd cds from Japan or Europe, old vinyl in mint condition... I appreciate the depth of their stock, and enjoy their section for local musicians, too. Their holiday section is fun to peruse every year. The occasional live sets performed in-store are always memorable - well, at least the ones I've seen. What a cool store!
Caitlin O'Leary
Well organized, great variety, friendly staff who will nerd out with you. Simply put, a must-go shop for everyone.
Percy Poginy
The grab bag DVDs are actually a really fun way to try something really fresh and new, got some stuff I hadn't even heard of! They will special order DVDs for you.
david stewart
Amazing collection of all things music, vinyl, cd, tapes, and memorabilia. This is a place you just have to go check out! Great service and knowledgeable staff, parking entrance is behind the building.
Kate Hefley
Always have a great selection of all my musical needs. It's never a bad experience at Twist & Shout, staffs nice and there's always something new to see and hear.
Yesenia Arroyo
Place was loaded with records, cds, movies, toys, and all sorts of pop culture references.
Prices were decent and the aisles were narrow but brimming. There are some cool listening stations set up too that can be used. Workers seemed pretty disinterested in us unless approached but they likely get a lot of looky-loos plus we were there on a random weekday afternoon.
Amylane Duncan
Amazing inventory of both cds, vinyl, and shirts. I would need several trips to feel like I made a dent in knowing exactly what is available here. Lots of books, hats, socks, cards, posters, etc. If you enjoy record stores, plan on spending hours here. Service was great. I didn't interact with them much, but lots of people were getting help finding things.
Gregory Howell
There is something about vinyl that makes me happy especially when listening to live recordings in analog splendor. No matter your preference, Twist & Shout will most likely have something to make your music experience engaging and fun. GH
Lance L.
Absolutely the best Funko Pop store I've seen. They've got soooo much vinyl it's amazing. The posters and flyers for sale are an incredible collection.
Emmanuel Ordaz
Great store, big, good selection and surprisingly ordered, most stores are a mess
Brian Lampman (Okamikyo)
Excellent place for physical media. I liked the vinyl collection, lots of limited release death metal vinyls, cool wall art and a terrific vibe
Jim Swanson
Like shopping here and the employees are very helpful. Occasionally looking for a specific movie and they have quite a few as well as audio stuff.
Pritika Mahat
Cool place to get lost for hours. They've got tons of records on ton of alot of toys and novelty stuff. Bought a cool pair of 2nd hand monitors for cheap!
Rivan Bennevendo
Great shop with lots of variety of music. Any music lover could spend all day here. Very helpful employees. Great aquarium with awesome coral.
David Jordan
This is probably the best record store I’ve ever seen. The size alone is astounding, but the selection of music, gifts, memorabilia, shirts, lunchboxes, etc. are enough to occupy your time and wallet for way longer than you would have imagined possible. I’ve never seen anything that could compare with this place, what a joy to have been able to visit here.
Charlene Sanchez
Just luv. The variety of choices they have a lot of everything hat, t-shirts, albums cds, patches, and much more. Extremely helpful staff. Looking for unique stuff go see 4 yourself.
George T
This place is MASSIVE! I had an awesome time sifting through the wide variety of records they have to offer. I was highly impressed by their hip-hop selection and would definitely recommend to anyone looking to find some awesome records/musical merchandise.
Jeff Kucej
Twist and Shout is a amazing store. I’m usually here looking for vinyls but they also have the goods when it comes to compact disks or books. Their 7” vinyl selection is honestly one of the best I’ve ever seen. Must stop when in Denver.
James Dunham
The selection is unreal, this is one of the biggest record stores I have been too. Nice selection of funko pop as well.
Ron' Rico
Went to this location yesterday, to pick up a DVD of pretty Little liars, that, Matt, had on hold for me. When I got there, a gentleman, with bald head and glasses, greeted me at the door, and made sure I got my DVD, he was very helpful. Love coming to this place, haven't been, since before covid. Love, seeing people still buying music. Can't wait to get back.
Charity Heggestad
You have to go check this place out! It's the coolest store in Denver for sure.
Mark Dubbeldam
Amazingly big shop. Did not find an enormous amount of rarities though but otherwise huge selection at reasonable prices.
Austin J
Gold mine of music. Never knew about this place but very happy to have discovered it. Anyone who likes cds, vinyls or cassettes needs to visit
The Darkness
Awesome store with friendly staff. Sold some old records and got some coin in my pocket.
OMBO SAPOVERDE
Love this place! The associates are knowledgeable and very helpful. When there to get the Prince Gold Experience.

"Twist & Shout Records" is more than just a record store. It's one of those stores where you can get lost for hours looking at the variety of the selections of Vinyl Records, CDs, Blu-ray's, DVDs, Cassette Tapes, and a surprisingly good collection of 8-Tracks. New or Used items all around, you'll never get tired of the environment.
Summer Tee
A great place to shop for all things music, vinyl, CD, books, posters, and more. You can get your collection appraised or sell your vinyl too. Its a great place to hang out, browse, and or check out music.
Marquist Spencer (M)
What a store! I did not know what to expect when walking in but, after calling to see if they would buy my Blu-ray collection and speaking with a lovely young man in the video section, I entered and left completely overwhelmed and enthused.
The store has everything you can think of when, it comes to consuming music, video and other forms of entertainment and memorabilia. Wall to wall, you will find an assortment of goodies to while your imagination. You will not leave this establishment disappointed (unless you're searching for something so rare (read: LaserDiscs) that you're setting yourself up for disappointment before you enter).
Overall, this place is fantastic. They sell, as well as purchase, all sorts of entertainment options. Should you find yourself in need of something, or wishing to sell your collection, feel free to call ahead and save yourself a trip. A solid 5 stars, which is a rarity for me. Take a trip and see for yourself! It might just turn into a pleasant journey.
Simon Shah
Great store and selection for vinyl, very pleasant and helpful staff. I recently brought in some records to sell, they were quite helpful, offering me a fair price for my old records. Definitely give them a try. Added bonus...they're also right next to an awesome book store, so win-win.
Cole Weiler
Awesome record store. Super clean and well organized inside with a great selection.
Bradley Ewing
GREAT place. Tons of variety not only with their extensive collection of vinyl and CD's, but also with their clothing, movies, books, and novelty items as well. Price is fair, and occasionally, mind-blowing when it comes to 'gently-used' merchandise. Customer service is also most excellent. KILLER spot. Highly recommend.
Mark Karnatz
Great record store with huge selection of new albums
Andrew Burton
Just one of the best spots in town period. The music knowledge & seasoned ordering staff is always on point, the ownership is honest, friendly, and took chances to support our local music & arts scene. I do miss both sides of Alameda, but it's heart is still in the right place. This is easily an important and worthy local business. Something for everyone.
Get in there!
Jorge Tote Zamora
Totally love the place. Good service. Great selection of vinyl records.
Adrian Fuentes Sanchez (Adrian X Fuentess)
Great staff. We drove from Nebraska to see Mumford and Sons and we found out the band was playing a private show at this store and we came and it was amazing. Thanks staff!
Jake Niedzwiecki
This place is far-out. Love their selection of Dance records, and their displays are absolutely groovy. The stock changes pretty regularly, so check back often.
Their staff knows turntables, too, so if you need consulting on parts or sound-system setup guidance, they're your people. Way kind, too.
Salem Gee
I thought I knew how cool this place would be. I thought "it's going to be a big record store, how exciting!" It took us a year after moving to Denver to visit because they always had covid restrictions in place and we didn't want to wait or struggle to park. (Not their fault, love that they are safe.) Finally got to visit the other day and we only had 45 minutes before closing but I can't wait to go back. I could spend days there. They have new and classic vinyl, rare finds, books and merch about music, and even a really awesome movie room with tons of great finds in it! Staff was helpful, prices are fair.
Colorado Chris
Picked up my special order Billy Strings Revival vinyl! Couldn't have been simpler & have to go back soon to really peruse the store.
Great nostalgic old school music store in Denver with that great ambience & feel to it. Go see em!
Alex Behrens
Twist and shout is the ameoba records of Denver. Big selection, great prices and easy to browse. Highly recommended if you are a vinyl fan and in the area.
Ken Long
If you like recorded music this is an incredible, must visit place. The prices were great and an outstanding selection. I went one day and had to go back again when on a vacation to Denver. If you've ever visited Amoeba Music in San Francisco it's comparable to that. Great selection of CDs and vinyl.
Kris King
This place is a super fun store for most fans of all gernes. Music, movies, & collectibles. Not forgetting to mention if you need vinyl records this is the spot. Their inventory is Costco massive!! I enjoy this store every time I go.
Robbie Wilshire
Great selection ,horrible customer service.not just once, multiple times, it's really surprising its happend pretty much everytime.i obviously still go back, but it's so frustrating how bad the service is.ive never even done a review before, thats how bad it is
Stephen Trivett
If you enjoy music this place is a must stop. Locals or foreigners can spend hours in here, as I have since the late 90’s at their old location. I miss that shop but the new one is a serious upgrade and suits the business well.
Extensive selection with competitive prices considering the brick and mortar expenses I’m sure they have in downtown Denver.
As nice as it is to sit on your rump and have things delivered to your door, the record store experience is still almost intoxicating. Try it.
I don’t get to buy as much these days but I enjoy supporting a local business like this as much as possible.
Staff has always been very helpful and generally knowledgeable. I don’t talk to them as much any more but they are always happy to help when I do.
They are also doing their diligence to be a part of the Covid solution and not the problem. Thanks as always!
Michelle Parrott
I absolutely love Twist & Shout!!! I'm living in Mississippi now, but I was born and raised in Denver. Every time my husband and I come back for a visit, we have to go shop at this record store for new and beloved vinyl. They never fail to have interesting items for sale. We can spend hours in this store if it wasn't for the fact that we'd go broke from buying everything we want and more!
Timothy Crane
I spent a week vacationing in Denver and Twist and Shout was one of the absolute highlights of my trip. How fortunate you are to have a store like this. I visited twice and will make one more trip before I fly home. What a joy to be surrounded by so much great music. Thanks for helping me add so many titles to my collection.
Jessica Jimenez Villa
Love this location! They do enforce masks and will put a cap on the amount of people in the store so keep that in mind! They have a HUGE collection, it was almost overwhelming!
Love the staff, they're so friendly and so helpful, they helped me look up some records for a friend and even said you could order for pick up in store.
They have CD's, Records, even some pop figures and sell t-shirts! Definitely check it out if you're a music fan!
Jackson Burns
Loved the gigantic selection of records, cds, and video. Everything was alphabetical and easy to navigate.
Gabriel Diaz
Everytime I visit Denver, I make sure I go to this shop. Love it!
Dan
Excellent place for music, t-shirts, great selection

I had been wanting to check out Twist & Shout for a few months, finally had the opportunity today. Modern retail environment, nicely done, but then the back morphs into an honest to God record store. One with a huge, competitively priced new and used inventory; and the cleanest used and pre-owned LP selection I've seen in my time scouring record stores in the metro area. I found a few that I'd been looking for, and quite a few more that I couldn't leave without.
Friendly and helpful staff, new & return customer incentives all made a very positive impression on me. Great job T&S, I'll be back!
Nathan Justice (aeranth)
Remarkably deep selection of both new and used. An essential stop for both Denver natives and visitors alike. Patrick, Ben, Blake. A sterling roster of knowledge and aesthetic savvy.
Blake Bruns
Lovely store. Always good finds. But closes at 7pm during the week. Seems odd the biggest record store in Denver closes the earliest. 9pm must be too late for retail workers.
Ellis Acklin
Amazon who? Ordered a record via the Twist & Shout Records online shop on Sunday, delivered seamlessly out of state on Wednesday. In-store experience also top when in town!
Joe Beezi
Great record store been goin here for years, only downside is that they lumped all electronic music into one section called dance, but it does make for a good excuse to dig all of the records not that I need one lol
Raymond Dunne
Very knowledgeable and professional. They had everything I was looking for, and much much more of course. I was quite surprised that they actually had one of the records I was looking for in stock. A couple of other places I called hadn't even heard of the artist. My order was ready when I went to pick it up later in the same day. Nice friendly place with plenty of music and more to choose from and by the looks of it something for any and every musical taste. I found on street parking at 5pm but there is also a parking structure just behind the building from Columbine St. I don't know if it costs $ to park in it because I got the spot on the street.
Jason Harlow
Great music selection. Definitely worth a trip.
KATHY POWELL
Cool records and merch. Lots of cool pictures of bands.
Jared Smith
They have lots of records it’s great! Some are way over priced but some are at a great price. Some of the staff is very rude and kinda make you feel stupid when you ask questions.
Bonnie Valdez
This is more than a record store. I picked up a really great Bob Dylan t-shirt for $10 along with the cds I prchased. The staff here is awesome. They are very knowledgeable about music and movies. They are also the nicest people I have met in a long time.
Keith Baker
The music store with everything from music and film, pop culture toys, books, tshirts, posters, weird stuff. Awesome!
Christian VanWyngarden
One of the best places to stop for records, record players and repairs, CDs, DVDs and a bunch of cool novelty stuff. Quite unique.
A A
Twist and shout was my go to place since they had the other location, every 2 weeks on pay day I would go here to spend my earnings, I moved to another state and I miss this place so much!
Kordale Johnson
As an out-of-state visitor it was very welcoming to see a record store selling both new and used vinyl, CD's, and Cassettes. A nice variety and helpful staff made this a must visit!
Chris G
Amazing selections, lots of rarities. A tad pricy though!
Michael Bowers
Great store I was able to buy used CDs for metal death metal rock and roll they have it all unfortunately somebody had already bought them before I could my next choice of venue was to buy it online or buy it from them I wish that twist and shout could get a discount from record labels instead of them being so greedy you know the type when a concert ticket is $60 plus fees but you end up paying $165 from some scalper same thing I hope this store never goes away
Joey Maes
As a Denver native, I used to frequent this place back when they were off East Alameda. Such a great record store with an awesome and varied selection and nice staff. I’ve also found rare movies in their DVD section. They offer curbside pickup now during the pandemic and their service continues to be top-notch.
Donald Smith
A new favorite spot in Denver. Great selection of vinyl and tons of other merch. Love the $5 "miscellaneous grab bag" vinyl idea too. Great if you are looking for something particular or just stopping in to browse. All of my interactions with the employees were awesome and they were all very friendly.
Martin Van Beek
One of my favorite record shops in Denver. Every time I go in, there is always new music selections to choose from. Being an audiophile their selections of good quality vinyls is astounding! Every time I go in I always find what I'm looking for and a little extra :) The prices on some items are a little higher, but since its more of a Mom and Pop shop, and not a big chain, its completely understandable. Not to mention their selection of local music and musicians is awesome, and a great way to give back and show support to up and coming acts.
Ed Lundemo
If you are a music lover this is a must visit! Spent hours pursuing through the Vinyl, and they have a vast selection of CDs also. Very cool atmosphere! Be sure to use the parking garage in the back if street parking is full.
Barron Keith
Black/Death metal selection on vinyl is outrageously good! I spend money every time I walk in - whoever is responsible for inventory selection is fantastic! 💸💸💸 …
Kelly Butler
I love this place... so eclectic, it made me happy on a gloomy day. Been in this area for over 4 years and never knew it was here!!!
Rich Carr
If record stores had a role model, Twist & Shout would be it! What a wonderful romp through time while remaining firmly today. Found a few classics of course, and left with a smile.
Harrison Vickers
Been coming here for a few years now and love it! There are a lot of cool people working here and a great selection of CDs. I can’t tell you how many new and great bands I have gotten into because I randomly found their albums here.
Heather Warner-Gonzales
Wasn't able to get Bryan Trujillo music so staff was very helpful in finding alternative music and gave information on how to get the c.d didn't leave without informing and more c.d's they have awesome memories
Andrea Scott
Whenever I'm in Denver, I have to stop at Twist & Shout. Great selection, decent prices and great service. These folks know everything about music. They have a great selection of new and used cd's and vinyl.
npol024
I've been to a lot of record shops around the country, but feel truly blessed that this is my home record store. Staff is awesome, selection is great, and prices are fair. I've built the bulk of my collection from Twist and Shout, and hope to go here for years to come.
Zach Cohen
Very knowledgeable and willing to answer any and all questions about my vinyl needs. Awesome store with a diverse selection!
Jason Gonshor
I've been frequenting a lot of local record stores, but this is the one I keep going back to the most. The selection of used vinyl is outstanding.
Chris Arteaga
This is the best record store we have been to since we started our collection. We try to check out stores wherever we travel. Twist & Shout has an incredible selection and very good organization. Their prices are fair although you should expect to pay slightly more than other places in Denver. They have a customer loyalty program too! We have sold records to them and they give store credit or cash for slightly less. Hands down a top-notch experience to which we will compare all other record stores in the world.
Tyler Alles
Being from Northern Colorado there is not much that resembles a record store anymore. I found myself feeling at home about 5 feet in from the front door. I started with the collectibles and those did not disappoint. I'm not into those but I liked the horror themed figures that they had. I then went and looked around the Vinyl section. I am not into Vinyl but I found that section to be full of great albums as well as one of a kind memorabilia. The CD section which was why I wanted to go had albums that I would love to have but never order which gave me the perfect excuse to buy them. I also found a very funny comedy DVD for $3 that was used but felt and looked like I just took the plastic wrap off. All in all; the staff was great, selection was great and they gave me stickers. That's a big plus for me.
Bryan Alire
Large selection of vinyl, knowledgeable staff and a great vibe/energy. Parking is a breeze since they have a free parking garage. The only issue I have is that they are overpriced which limits me from shopping there more often.
Michael Lomas
Really enjoyed walking through this store. Great music selection on Vinyl and CD. Good value on art selection.
David Cain
This is my go-to record store. The selection is huge, prices are great, and they treat their customers right. I come down from Boulder county at least twice a year for Record Store Day events, as well as an occasional in-store performance. I also recently won a pair of concert tickets from Twist & Shout, which was unexpected but a regular possibility if you drop your name in the box or send them an e-mail. Denver is lucky to have such a great store.
Josh Quist
Best in town! Nostalgic record store
Ken Walters
This is probably one of the best record stores in the entire country. Can't say enough about how cool it is. They also have books, movies and amazing action figures.
It's family-owned, the staff is amazing and you can't beat the selection.
Pienut 27
Large selection at reasonable prices but organization is all over the place so you'll take a while to find a specific artist
tina c
Great selection, easy to find stuff. Big layout and new vinyl. Made it out of there with multiple great finds. Turntables, vinyl accessories, speakers, buttons and stickers...I truly enjoyed my first shopping experience there.
Hugh Williamson
Twist & Shout has one of the most comprehensive collections of vinyl, CD, DVDs, books, clothing and assorted merch that I've ever seen in one store. You could literally browse for the better part of a day and need to come back another time to finish thumbing through everything. Lots of new and used vinyl with some very interesting discoveries. Whatever genre of music or video you're into, you'll probably find what you're looking for - and more - at Twist & Shout Records.
Marquette Chester
Great find while on travel in a City growing by leaps and bounds. As a jazz fan the only thing I can say is that I wished I had more time! Great selection of previously owned and new vinyl, great customer service with prices that are competitive.
And to make matters better...there is a great saltwater fish tank in the store that is AWESOME!!!! Go check these guys out the Jazz is great.
DCE Speedy
I was looking for some help picking out some good jazz vinyl for a beginner. Kevin helped me pick out an excellent set of albums.
The store is clean and very well organized. They have a great selection of vinyl and CDs. I could spend all day there looking through what they have to offer.
I liked the fact that what they list on their website was actually there and easy to find. The albums are grouped together with the new pressings first and then the used. That meant I didn’t have to look in two places to find all the band’s/artists albums the store had. Of course the exception are rare and large box sets. But again they were lined up nicely behind the counter or in the glass cases along the walls.
Again, the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. I would recommend Twist & Shout to the newb and the experienced audiophile. ;D
Chris Bartschi
This place is Bar None the best record store in town both in lighting selection and employee helpfulness. They get all the new releases and have a amazing selection of used vinyl. one of the best I've ever seen and very well curated high-quality pieces they don't sell anything that isn't well cared for I only wish I had more money to spend in this place
Aaron Dees
Great place for vinyl, CDs, tapes and even 8 tracks! They also have quite a selection of pop culture figurines, t-shirts, etc. While their prices can be a little high when compared to online retailers, it always feels good to support local brick and mortar shops.
M. Bevis
Simply put, one of the best record stores I've ever visited. They have a little bit of everything for everyone. If you don't have some sort of crisis as to what/how much you're going to buy then I envy your Deep Pockets. The staff knows what they're talking about so don't be afraid to ask. But you can also just browse all day, always finding something new to obsess over. Highly recommended.
Yi Han
Great service and selection of LPs.

Whenever I'm in Denver, I pay Twist & Shout a visit not just for their records (an overwhelming collection -- I always walk out with lots of new stuff to listen to, including some real rarities) but also for their selection of Blu-rays and DVDs (from the popular to the artsy) and books about music. To give an example, a few years ago I checked on a whim to see if they had any of Patty Duke's music -- and lo and behold, a complete collection of her recordings on CD was right there on their shelf. This place is run by people who truly care about culture and want to share it!
Captain Malk
Best record store in Colorado easily. Largest selection of everything from jazz hop to nü metal. It's very clearly organized also which is something a lot of record store don't do very well. Their selection is mostly new records, but have some used stuff as well. If the album is available on record, they probably have it here. Only downside is the detachment of the employees, in such an awesome place you'd expect some really passionate workers who care about music, but most the time they treat people poorly, and don't have much to say. 8.5/10
Maria Poirier
Always a great selection in all genres & they have some really cool novelty stuff as well as books, shirts, gifts, and trinkets. Always walk out with some excellent finds. Tons of rare and collectible stuff here if you know where to look. Been a favorite of mine since I was a kid.
Katie Wagner
I'm pretty sure they stock everything. I mean everything. What they don't have in-stock they've ordered for me to pick-up in store (which I don't mind since I like supporting my local businesses).
They have a listening station in the store: if you're questioning how much you want an album, bring the CD to the customer service desk and they'll let you listen to it there. They also make mysterious grab-bags that have a few vinyls in it for cheap - cute idea!
They care about only hiring staff that knows & cares about music, so you can be assured you'll find someone helpful if you're feeling stuck or shopping for someone else's music taste.
Landan R
Best used and new record shop in Denver. They have a great selection of music and the used stuff is always in great condition and reasonably priced, they also have a large amount of movies, CDs and collectables. Hopefully this part of the review ages badly but they also have a great covid plan! They offer curbside pick up with online orders and require masks at all times inside the store. They even supply hand sanitizer at the front door I felt safe!
Douglas Groothuis, Ph.D.
Twist and Shout is the best store of its kind in Denver: vast selection, good prices, and polite service. It is irreplaceable for us CD and LP collectors. And the jazz T-shirts are terrific as well. I especially like it when they play jazz on the store stereo. Sadly, some of the music played is in bad taste or even obscene. I won't run out of the store when I hear this, but I am likely to not stay as long.
cam! karczewski
Lots of stuff, vinyls, CDs, movies, and simply just random cool little things. The last time I went I got two vinyls. One was only $11, but when I listened to it the quality wasn't great, so if you want a high quality vinyl, buy a new one or a more expensive used one. Also the last time I went I looked for a band that I really like, but they didn't have it, so if you're looking for a small band, most likely they won't have it. Overall, great place.
Mike Heller
Audiophiles unite! If you're wanting to thumb through millions of used vinyls looking for the hidden gem or trying to get an old classic in new condition - this is the place. Fun stuff like mystery record/cd/dvd packs wrapped in brown paper are pretty cool too. In non pandemic times, the listening stations are a great way to melt away from the real world for a minute, but they also always have a well curated selection playing for all to enjoy. One of the gems, if not THE gem of Colfax.
Kelly Coffin
T&S Records has a great selection! Staff members are awesome, always offer help and are easy to find. Found some really good local music from the east coast, just wish their metal selection would refresh more often. Still super satisfied with their selection in all genres I browse!
Erik Kludasch
The store is great and am always pleased with their selection of records. The prices are high, but I understand it’s Denver proper. Also the staff aren’t too friendly. I’ve been their multiple times and have only had one upbeat encounter with an employee.
Mike Holberger
I wanna shout out the record people at Twist and Shout for helping me pick out a new record player and chatting with me about my set up and being super helpful.
Nathan Miller
Really big store with a good selection. I prefer the experience of small whole in the wall shops where you are tripping over boxes of records but they got a ton of cool stuff and a wide variety of new and used vinyl as well as CDs. The avid collector and the casual collector would both be able to find something here.
Enrico Zanardo
Quite possibly the best record store I've ever been to: amazing variety of vinyls and cds (and videos and others), both new and classics. They'll also buy your records.
Lisa Angello
Fabulous record store with a variety of used and new recordings on vinyl and cds. I love that they wrap vinyl in paper and sell bundles near checkout. We've actually gotten some really good records this way. Always fun to browse and I've found most of the employees to be very knowledgeable and happy to help.
Paul Kessler
Huge collection of CDs, vinyl records, tapes, books, and random stuff.
Matt Bustos
I used to hear about this place as a kid growing up in Southern Colorado, and is now my favorite record shop. Good vinyl collection, and lot of cool gifts. Glad it's not just focused on being a head shop, actually don't believe they sell pipes which is kinda nice.
Mark Janeczek
Where all other's have fallen by the wayside, twist&shout has endured and I hope will continue to thrive. It's my number 1 place to search for music both new and old and used c.d's and l.p's.
The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the layout is well organized.
Kudos T&W
Rico Ruiz
Huge selection of Pop! figures. Lots of used music in many formats. Unique toy selection. Great movie selection, both new & used. Shopped new & used box sets of CD's. Great selection.
P B
Outstanding selection. Helpful staff. Everything you ever needed (and didn’t know you needed) for vinyls and then some. Neat gifts and other oddities as well.
terrell daniels
I've been going to this place for years. And the vibe is always the same. Great Customer Service from good people. If you're looking for any type of music on hard copy then you found it. If they don't have it they will find it if it exists. Of you're into knick knacks and cool gifts that are current and retro then look no further. Never go away Twist and Shout. I'm a customer for life.
Michael Dewar
Huge selection of CD's and vinyl. These guys can get anything that is gettable. From Beatles and oldies to modern rock, rap, blues, and everything else. Huge store to get lost in for hours. Record Store Day headquarters.
Matthew McGuire
Record Store Day 2019 was a blast. A good amount of records as well as movies, books, and music.
I picked up a limited copy of a live performance from the Jerry Garcia Band. The line to get in was close to 45 minutes, but it was worth the wait.
Jonathan
Great store offering one of the largest vinyl selections in town. The staff is very helpful and will go out of there way to help. You'll also find tuns of CD's, DVD's & Blu-ray's. Enjoy.
Timothy Flood
The best record store in town! Twist and Shout has an excellent selection of new vinyl. Their friendly staff go the extra mile to help you find what you're looking for or will try to order it in if they don't have it. The used selection isn't exactly a picker's dreamland but their used records are typically in great condition, which is always good to see.
topher austin
Best record store in Denver hands down. They have almost every artist you could think of and even have original releases and rereleases of albums. Great place to get all your audio and video needs.
Kailey B
This place was pretty well stocked and had tons of different kinds of multimedia, including cassette tapes (WHAAAAT?!). The people working were very friendly and they played some really good tunes (score!). Over all would definitely return. Thanks for the sweet Nora Jones vinyl ❤️
Kris Parks
Awesome shop on Colfax. There's a huge selection of vinyls, CDs, videos and so much more. It very much reminded me of a local record shop, but in a much larger scale. Lots of cool stuff to be found here. If you're a vinyl fan, definitely stop in and browse their selection, there is a huge selection here. Or if you've got time to kill, check out their merch, there's lots of Funko Pop and other items that would would make for fun gifts.
Aspen Johnson
The hip hop section seems to fluctuate. It used to be giant. One day it was as though it was cut in half and then that half now seems to be quartered. I also wish there were more hip hop, reggae, and jazz tees to choose from. With that being said, it's one of Denver's iconic stores (with gag gifts galore).
Soren Ostergren
I like this store a lot. My father and I purchased a record player from here and it was a great purchase and works wonderfully. They also have grab bags where you get 10 random records for $10 and I just love it. I would definitely recommend a visit if in the area
Nick Boehm
I freaking love this place! They have great prices on new vinyl, honestly at least $5 cheaper than most places. They have a great selection and offer chances to win free tickets to shows. I recently won two tickets to see Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! It was great.
Smevin Bravis
Any ma and pop music shop with this much great stuff deserves patronage! Staff is mad helpful, and the selection is fantastic. Cool shirts, too😊 conveniently located next to the tattered cover, so you could easily kill a FEW hours here. …
Jon Withers
This is my favorite record store in Denver. They have a good selection of new and used vinyl, CDs and movies. They also have a great variety of cool toys and weird collectables. I've sold/traded vinyl here and have always been impressed with what they offer as far as trade-in, I've been to some other record stores where their offers on used vinyl are garbage.
Aaron Peterson
I go to Twist & Shout every holiday season because they're the perfect place for unique gifts. Rare records, limited edition collectables, funky shirts and bags, it's a treasure trove. The only thing you need to be aware of is their return policy. It's pretty limited so you'll want to make sure that you really want what you purchase.
Dustin Tabor
Great little place. I'm not much into records or music, but they have a lot of toys, collectables and one of the best selections of interesting DVDs and Blu-ray I've come across in the Metro area. Everyone has been polite and helpful and follow appropriate safety measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Definitely going to be a regular stop.
Natalya Lainhart
Always fantastic! Knowlegable staff and incredible selection. I've repaired a record player here and they were fantastic, purchased a used record player here that works like a dream! Literally every visit has been a five-star visit. Fun kitschy gift items everywhere, vinyl, cassettes, CDs and more!!!
Romeo Ortiz
If you enjoy that old school feel of browsing through Records, CDs. and DVDs this is the right place for you. Staff is always friendly and eager to help out. Always have a wide variety of different genres of music. Overall a great store!
Laura D
Flipping thru the records looking for your favorite artists hoping that one album you just have to have is there. Was fun tripping down memory lane and they had my album! 😁 …
Rose N\A
Fantastic selection of more than just records. They have a large selection of Funkos, films, CDs, books, and other merchandise. As soon as you walk in you smell that authentic record store smell. This store is always a stop if we're in the area.
Thomas Evans (tmecolorado)
Best music store in Denver, hands down. The only place you need to stop for gifts, certs or good goods.
Andy O'
Greatest store on the planet and they don't have a lot of snarky clerks who think they're Jack Black in High Fidelity...they're courteous, knowledgeable, good listeners and helpful. It's also just plain cool and beats the hell out of downloading or computer music stores! It's a sensory delight.
Neil Robertson
Twist is an institution. They are my go-to for new record releases. Have a great selection for new vinyl too. It’s not uncommon to score a used find here again. Only downside can be the service. I get it, pretension comes with a record store but apart from checking out, don’t expect cool CS. So, great store... as long as you don’t have a question or order.
Kelly Raymond
Great selection in every department. Great place to find used DVD boxed sets when you're feeling especially nostalgic. Fantastic gift ideas and tons of stuff just for the fun of it. We definitely go out of our way to make this a stop on our way home.
Steve Whelan
I love this store! I had a blast shopping for good used records and I just wish I lived closer or I would buy the grab bag vinyls once a week. Excellent record store. 5 stars!
Paying Attention Harvey
TWIST & SHOUT ROCKS!!
After collecting vinyl for 45 years, living and traveling in many cool cities across the US and abroad, I can say with experience that this store serves up the ecclectic, satisfies the most ecccentric taste buds, with great prices. Immerse yourself in a time-warped kaleidoscope of the tastiest Music Memorabilia in the US. Find rare albums, in "mint condition". Enjoy!
John Haynes
Looking for that good old fashion music store? vinyl, CDs, DVDs? This place is one of the last true bastions of the good complete experience! Truly an amazing collection and sight to see, as they've thrown everything into this place. In an expansive collection of anything and everything, new and old, rock to jazz: everything you could look for.
Perfect for those good old strolls down music Isles looking at all of your favorites, discoveries of new music, including the old discoveries of forgotten gems! This is not the minuscule leftover of the music section at Barnes & Noble. This is not the small simple collection of socially acceptable media at Walmart or Target.
This place brings you back to music lands. Golden Era! They do not skimp on any section or style and they even have a listening area for CDs and vinyl! Do yourself a favor, and check this place out! Do someone else a favor, especially those who say they don't like CDs, and bring them to this place, too!
Kevin Kendrick
Awesome place! The reviews said it was the best in town and they were right! I had a great time perusing the rows and rows of cds and albums. What a great selection!
Richard Albert
Very cool selections of just about anything with music. Anime, movies, action figures and much much more.
The prices on some of the items is WAY above other places that I have purchased the same item as they have but when it comes to music they have great process and a WONDERFUL selection.
Just one visit and you'll be hooked!
Miss J
My son loves this shop!! The staff are knowledgeable, are great at Music-Nerding-Out with my awkward teenage son, and are doing a fantastic job of managing the Covid 19 stuff. They control the number of people in the store, enforce the mask code, have amble have sanitizer, AND have remained kind and open. Thank you!!
Natalie Colwell
An audiophile's wet dream inside these doors. There's a little bit of everything: CDs, vinyls, books, collector's editions, autographed copies, variants, limited releases, toys, clothes, novelties, posters, magazines, and more. The staff are welcoming, knowledgeable, and polite. There's a nice price range for everyone to find a treasure here. We'll be back.
Kenny Bouman
One of, if not the premier local Record stores in the Denver area. A massive selection of any and all genres imaginable, on CD as well as Vinyl. Did I mention a room dedicated to movies, both DVD and BluRay, collectibles and figurines dotted throughout the store, books, shirts...
You name it, and this place most likely has it! Definitely a must shop place when you're in the area.
Liv E
Great selection of vynil, cd's and books! My favorite thing to do is to discover new books to read. I can spend hours and hours just walking between aisle. Staff is nice and helpful if you are looking anything in particular. Great place for those that love music - especially rock and roll!
Matthew Jeffrey
I love the selection at Twist & Shout, and most all of their products are in great condition. I felt that the sorting in the movie section was decent, but I struggled to navigate the record portion of the store. The employees were all very friendly and helpful.
paul eberly
Please support a family store that cares. Premium selection. They do special orders. I've been shopping there since they were on South Pearl Street. Give the gift of real, not duplicated, music. It's appreciated. Good book selection too. OK, so young people work there, it's probably their first gig. Exhale, smile, browse, and buy a CD for somebody you at least like...
Guben “Brotha Goons” Bueno
Favorite spot to get Vinyl music!!!
Charles McGuire
Vinyl selection was top notch, staff was helpful with just the right amount of record-store-employee attitude (a concept which, if a book were written on it, as one should be, this record store would probably carry that book). Picked up the new King Gizzard and some WSMFP, will be back next time I'm in the city.
Andy Kinomoto
Fantastic selection of vinyl both old and new! Twist and Shout is a fun music adventure for anyone looking for music or pop culture gifts. Sometimes they even have exclusive vinyl products from bands that you can't find anywhere else.
Blacque Jacque Shellacque
One of the best record stores on the planet in our back yard! I've traveled far and wide and the only other store I like more than Twist & Shout is Amoeba. The ONLY thing I've disliked are that some of the used records are a bit over priced, and sometimes they are in pretty bad shape (I'd prefer they either reject these or at the very least point out they are in poor shape). You can listen to them before buying so I would highly suggest using one of the listening stations before buying used vinyl here.
Zach Post
Top notch collections with fair pricing and helpful/friendly staff. COVID protocols being followed and safety seems to be top priority. Will continue to make all vinyl purchases here!!!
Michelle Hooper
This is my absolute favorite place in Denver. Good people, good vibes, all the merch you could ever want. I've never gone looking for something specific and not found it here. Be prepared to spend at least a few hours checking out all they have to offer!
Riley Logan
i called them for a record while I was at a concert down the street at bluebird. they answered and were very helpful. the album was for the artist I was seeing and I didn't want to miss the chance to get signed vinyl. turns out the vinyl hasn't been released yet, so the guy looked into it and explained instead of just saying that they didn't have it. A+
Shaun Floyd
Arguably Denver's 'go to' store for music. A decent selection of vinyl. However, given the resurgence of vinyl this store still has a far larger selection of the antiquated CD format, which at least to me seems to be a little surprising. The downside at least from my multiple experiences of shopping here over 2 decades is that the focus of the customer service and being able to chat with someone about music or what they could recommend for a music buyer looking for something new to be turned on to seemed to have gone by the wayside. The last few times I have been in, not one single associate has ever asked if I was looking for something in particular, how I was doing or even noticed what I was considering purchasing and made mention if I was a big fan of the artist or the "If you like them, you should check out (enter artist here), which is kind of sad. There noe seems to be a bit of a snobbish hipster vibe in its environment. It is almost like they are going out their way to replicate 'Championship Vinyl' from the movie 'High Fidelity' just without the comic relief.
Sawyer
Love that there's still brick and mortar places selling music - these guys are one of the best. Laid back atmosphere and everything you need in one place.
Scott Landry
Lots of vinyl, a large room full.
I am a jazz fan...there was a very large selection, both new and used. I also noticed a lot of other genres (rock, blues, etc.).
If you are a vinyl fan, worth the trip. Easy to park. Lots of eating places nearby....
Patequi Guapacha
I was visiting Denver from Philadelphia and stopped by this impressive store, nice selection of CDs and records with amazing memorobilia on the walls and all sorts of novelty items all over the place. I was surprised to see so many nice books about music. The salsa and Latin jazz section needs improvement but then again it might be a Denver thing, not as common as back east. Will go back on my next visit.
Dennis Lathem
This is a must visit shop anytime I am in Denver! Tremendous selection of not only LPs..but CDs, tapes, movies, games books and collectibles. Their used LPs are completely alphabetized by genres. The overall quality of the used LPs are higher than most other shops. In addition, the folks that work at Twist know and love the music business. Most of the posters, paintings and photographs displayed on their cavernous walls would represent well in any museum. The great thing is they are for sale. If you are in Denver and you love music you need to visit Twist and Shout!
Barbara Taylor
Must see, so many records, so little time. One of a kind items can be found here.
Michael D. Wulfsohn
Best CD and vinyl store in the Denver area! Great selection, and fantastic inventory of new, gently used CDs and vinyl. The prices are great for used CDs and vinyl, and average for new CDs and vinyl. My only suggestion is that their customer service could definitely improve by trying to be a little friendlier to the customers. Some of staff have a bit of a condescending attitude. Not intentional, of course, but is something they need to work on.
flavorofsound
Easy to get to location, covered parking with plenty of spaces, huge cd and vinyl collection, and a super helpful staff who will help you find what you're looking for. Twist & Shout is one of the best places in Denver to get physical copies of albums!
Brian Wurtz
This has quickly become my favorite place to shop for new LPs. Great selection!
Craig Ayliffe
Awesome range of music. Can find anything from CDs, Vinyl to cassettes and 8 track tapes.
New and used. Is very helpful staff to assist you.
An excellent range of local Denver artists are also highlighted.
Jacob Hernandez
Friendly staff and amazing selection of vinyl. Definitely worth going to and can't wait to go back next time I'm in Denver.
Nick Gehrig
The pricing on vinyl is super sketchy. Worst I have seen anywhere in the US, and the used records usually aren't mint or even complete, but they still cost as much as mint completes, if not more, when it's punk or metal. That said, they have come through big for me at times, and I do like going there. Once inna while you'll find a great deal. They really truly need a person who truly understands how to grade and price vinyl! It's a sad and a well known fact among punk rockers here that Twist and Shout is super sketchy with records! Look, research, and listen before you buy! They are great people, just clueless at pricing and valuing vinyl records in particular. This IS a fantastic place for CDs!
Jeremiah Saldana (Jeremy)
I've always loved Twist & Shout. Obviously the best selection of music media anywhere in the Denver Metro area unless you prefer to special order through Circuit City or Best Buy. Prices on new and used items are reasonable, occasionally Independent Records is cheaper, but really only when you're talking about new releases. This place has culture, and touts about being independently owned, which is cool - except of course for the employees (some can be very knowledgeable but all are underpaid). Of course it was better when they had 2 different locations, and free/available parking is always nice. In terms of selling stuff to them, no store in Denver pays what anyone would consider a "fair price" for used stuff anyway - at least they buy used stuff at all. I've won tickets to several shows from them, and have had many good experiences at the stores. I can't say that about anywhere else in Denver.
David Renner
The selection is off the chain! Vinyl bins that curve around the earth (OK, maybe not, but there are tons). Friendly, knowledgeable staff. They always have giveaway drawings and frequently have in-store artist performances so check their website.
Floyd Kelley
One of the best music stores in Denver! First visit netted me some incredibly hard-to-find CD's that have been out of print for some time. Selection of records, CD's, videos, and t-shirts is quite impressive.
Brian Hayden
Went in for the third installment of RSD 2020... they did a great job! Wish I would have attended all three events! I'll be back for black Friday... support your local record shop!
Vanessa Arroyo
The staff is helpful and relaxed, and the place is clean. They have a good selection of Funkpops and some other action figures/toy models. Their shirts are on par with the ones they sell at hot topic (price range, maybe a bit more expensive). Their music selection is mainly focused on rock (not a lot of classical and even less latino music). The organization is very distressing though, sure they have an alphabetic system (sort of) but I wish they would have a more specific subdivision rather than just "rock" and then throw everything in there. Bottom line, if your looking for a specific artist, ask a clerk, otherwise you'll get lost in that nexus. Now if you're just looking around to see if you find anything...(still be careful, I got a headache after the first 5 rows). The passageways are very narrow (you can't have two people back to back), usually you find an empty one in order to navigate.
Ace TenTwentySeven
👍 solid place for brand new vinyl and rare new stuff especially and they do accomodate special orders when possible so don't be shy to ask. I have always liked the staff there too and I have to mention that I have been treated well there for almost 2 decades from the old spot to here. There is ALWAYS a hidden gem in there thats badass too, and that has always been the case
Blasphemian
This place has a pretty good selection for any genre you want. I've been here countless times, however if you're wanting to ask for assistance or you're looking to get information from an employee, dont. Every interaction I've had with the staff has been unpleasant. They are short and seem like they are always in a bad mood, or make you feel like an inconvenience. I don't normally care about customer service in a case such as this, but my last interaction had dissapointed me. I had approached an employee in regards to purchasing a new stylus for my record player. The employee barked at me saying " we don't sell those anymore." Okay, great, no problem... but that was it. He went right back to working on something he thought was more important as I stood there clueless. Normally good costumer service would dictate that you point a customer in a better direction. Or at least help consider my other options and help me draw a conclusion to the matter. Great place for music, but unfortunately staff is a let down for me.
Cat “Cat”
Always a fun store to stop in and browse! If you are looking for Funco Pops, oh my, this is your place! They have tons and even sell the sets sealed, it's easy if you really do want all the pops from one tv show or band or what not. Prices are decent too. Many hard to find CD's are here as well as collectibles! It is a really great store!!!
Grady Wasil
A high traffic, well maintained record store, for the volume of people it serves. A large store front with a wide variety of artists, and mediums. Their vinyl section is particularly impressive! Prices are a bit high
Chad Hillje
I will happily rate this iconic Denver record store establishment with the highest possible rating. I have been purchasing vinyl records since the early days as a smaller store on Logan & Alameda. The music I have purchased at Twist and Shout has filled Denver's dance clubs with emaculate audio and of course has given me the joy of having a record collection that I'm proud of. From B sides and rarities to white labels and classics, There is no better record store in my personal and professional opinion. Today I picked up "Easy Star All - Stars", "Thrillah"!! Twist & Shout is just that.
EthanAHG
Selection has become a little lack luster over the years for certain genres like punk and metal, but overall very cool store with great staff.
Charles Miller
I don't care what you listen to this place is for everyone. I have never been disappointed here and customer service is always good. Not into music? Dont worry they still got you. This store isn't just music, it is a collection of the human experience do not pass up.
Tyler H.
It's easy to find the cd you want, the line is never long, and the collection is so big if you can't find what you're looking for you'd be hard pressed to find it anywhere else. They're always playing different music when I'm in there, and the staff are always friendly and usually have something to say about the music I'm buying.
Justin Grant
I found this listed on a "things to do in Denver" page and I understand why it is a must go! This store has a vast selection of vinyls, blu-rays, CDs, and all sorts of goodies! I think the biggest complaint is that I did not have enough time; I discovered the blu-rays just as my wife was kicking me out. Great store, me and wife bought records that thankfully fit snug in my suitcase.
Ryan Mitchell
Found some rare items at very reasonable prices. I'm from out of town but this place is a must each time I visit! Incredible selection, clean store. One of my favorite record shops I've been to!
Brian Root
Love record stores , this is a nice one . People that work there were awesome .
Roger Haak
One of the best record stores in town, and they're more than just a record store. Some of the best people in the city work here, and if you're in town to visit or you're a vinyl fiend, you need to swing by and get lost for an hour here.
Joe Lights
The ONLY place in Denver for your music, movies, vinyl, cds, and pop culture goodies. Don't forget to check out the amazing reef aquarium they have in here as well.
Carissa Larson
Pretty cool store. Went to sell vinyl. Wasn't happy with offer but the guy took the time and went through them one by one which I appreciated. Decent customer service for a busy place too.
Josh Ross
This place is absolutely incredible. I've spent hundreds of dollars here. All of their staff is incredibly knowledgeable. I've purchased records as well as a record player from them. All without any issues.
Chris Rangel
Awesome place!!!
Aaron Ciuffo
The best record store in Denver. The staff is knowledgeable and always willing to offer a suggestion. If the shop doesn't have it, that can probably get it.
There is always something interesting playing in-store and the listening stations generally have something great.
Support your local record store!
B Local
Favorite record store in Denver. Cool selection of pop culture toys/shirts/collectibles in the front. Knowledgeable staff, be sure to check out the posters for upcoming shows in the entryway!
Unspoken Unfound
Decent selection but can be a little pricey. Staff are very helpful and friendly.
Tallon VanNoy
Great record store! Friendly employees, local bands in stock, great merch. I'm a fan. I will continue to come back and recommend this Denver jewel.
Kris Murray (mrowwy)
Awesome record store I spotted from the inside of the book store next door. Staff was great and fun to joke with at the register. Records were reasonably priced and well organized. I wish I lived here for this record store! If you're into music, go!
Rik Schutte
Wonderful spot for media hunting. An absolute must for any vinyl hounds passing through Denver.
Dylan Beazley
Don't know how to put it in words... But I will do my best. This place is the mecca of music alongside other things like video. I listen to Mostly EDM and there selection is unrivaled. Go spend your money but have a budget or you will be broke.
The Marble Index
A shop that has everything. A great mix of rare records like first edition Velvet Underground records and more common classics like Fleetwood Mac and Billy Joel. Also a great selection of CDs. Highly recommend this place.
Avery Mikeworth
the twist and shout staff is so sweet and they recently did an event with waterparks and were super accommodating when i was going to end up being late even though i managed to make it on time!! will definitely return in the future!!
Brianne Nelson
A fun and easy going atmosphere with great staff and huge selection... if everything. I mean EVERYTHING. From funny giftables to a massive music selection to DVDS that you didn't know you needed. But you do. The Tattered Cover is right next door which makes it an even easier way to spend an afternoon. There is a free parking garage right next to it with an elevator, the entrance is wheelchair accessible but the aisles may be a bit cramped. This is a must see location in Denver, tourist or local.
A Shadowborne (A. Shad)
Friendly staff an an absurdly huge selection of CDs, vinyl, DVDs, and other merchandise to choose from. Always worth swinging by to browse.
Steve Ulery
T & S got very good CD & DVD selections, the employees were so friendly & helpful. I love this store, I recommend it to anyone. I found CDs I haven't heard in 23 years, I found DVDs I haven't seen in 23 years.
Tor “tor33rpm”
I'm a Discogs buyer from the Chicago area. I just received a RSD2018 record carefully wrapped, sealed with a custom sticker, and in a high quality outer sleeve. Never have I experienced that from a retailer nor a collector. That includes my purchases from over the globe. Way to go, Denver. I'll stop by the next time I'm in town. Just awesome.
Adam Crane Guilford
I have shopped at Twist & Shout since they were on Alameda and Logan, awesome selection of all styles of music. Listening stations where you can sample new music, and a staff of music heads who seem to really love working there ... thank you for spreading the music that didn't know we
even loved until Twist & Shout suggested it &~
Ryan Lee
Best vinyl place in Denver. Great artist selection over all genres. Sometimes it takes a while for bands to be restocked. But it is usually only with idie or smaller bands.
Connor G
They have tooons of records. Its a old school type vibe for sure. I really like funko pops and they have a great selection here. You can always call and see if they have a certain collection but the variety is awesome!
Laura Kirkegaard
Love this place for all it has! I'm always surprised to find records here that I haven't been able to find elsewhere. Only thing I can hint at for improvement is to order more Laura Marling albums, please! Haha. (There may be a way to work with the staff to do so. I'll ask next time) :)
Garrett Dangerfield
What a massive store! I could classify T&S as a museum in itself because of all the cassettes, records, and CDs that are there! I personally, didn't buy anything during my visit, but that's only because I did not spend nearly enough time inside to see all of what they offered!
Steve Bird
Best selection of music, movies, and collectables. They share a massive 4 story free parking garage with Tattered Cover. I dont know why the review above said parking was difficult, thats the easiest part.
Suzanne Humphries
Clean, well organized, nice staff. Selection could be better.
thom perrigo
Excellent staff and beyond your imagination on inventory!!
Keith Womack
Times have changed now days most people prefer music from their phones or electronic devices me I'm old school vinyl and CD's for me that's why I shop at Twist & Shout. Plus I can interact with real people not electronic device.
Riley Birk
I do love this record store. But the prices today were outrageous. One album was over $50 (priced at $19.99 on Amazon). I’m torn as I want to support local business, but this was just too much to swallow
Matthew Morgan
Sprawling entertainment where inventory knows no bounds. Exhaustive collection of music, movies, and pop culture knick knacks. Didn’t interact with the staff aside from buying something, but they were nice.
Lisa Blanchard
Best part of going here is the feeling that you've just stepped back into the 70s. Donna Summer blasting overhead and so much vinyl, it will make your head spin....pardon the pun. You can listen to any album that is being resold as there are tons of turntables with head phones around the store. I was looking for some Beatles artwork and even though I didn't find any, the pictures that I flipped through that had been taken from concerts here in Denver over the years rivaled any rock and roll museum that I've been to....and I've been to a lot. There is a little something for everyone here, including an entire corner dedicated solely to incense. They almost lost a star because the clerk argued with me about who the best Beatle was (the correct answer is John Lennon) but I figured the poor lad just hadn't had the chance to be schooled by a fangirl like myself. We went home with purchases so that's a good sign that they are doing something right.
Matt Sprague
The staff can be a bit snooty, but this is still Denver's best record store. Located across from the Tattered Cover and next to the Sie Film Center it can be a part of a great evening off Colfax. Anyone who loves vinyl should definitely drop in.
Cassidy Blaede
Would have never thought to stop at a record shop, but they have a bunch of other pop culture geeky things. Like pretty much every Pop Funko bobblehead imaginable, even some exclusive to other stores. 😛 Fun little shop. …
Jacob Noble
Amazing variety of music, great record collection, and they host musicians occasionally. They also have some cool collectables if you're into that. plus with tattered cover next door this is a go to for gift ideas.
Eric Morrison
One of the last true music stores. Vinyl, CDs, and rare items all about. Just a pleasure to go in there and look around. Fast, friendly, knowledgeable staff, and if you want to sell, they look at it right away for you.
Unusual Channels
Denver's best record store, criticisms of employees here are unfair. Trying to live off what retail can afford to pay in Denver seems very difficult. I have never had anyone be rude and have had quite a few personal interactions with the staff. The owner and managers are geat too, we are lucky to still have Twist around... It is a cultural landmark.
Jason Gottlieb
This is my go-to record store! Great selection, decent prices, and cool promotions make Twist & Shout great. They also have a good reward program and grab-bags with a surprise mix of albums!
donita massey
This is a great record store. The parking is right down Colfax, but it's worth the walk. This place has everything. There's CD's, videos and vinyl. TONS of vinyl!
Alan Knepper
They are very careful about COVID precautions, so I felt very safe going there. They have an unbelievable selection of music and movies in many formats, and prices are incredibly inexpensive. Many used and new.
Paul Storm
A rare gem of a large local record store still in existence and thriving. They have a huge selection of CD's, vinyl, used and new, and lots of other stuff. Must visit.
Max Planck
I'm of a generation that likes to "feel" music before buying it and T&S is just the space to do that. It's a great place to just browse of if you're after a particular title, their knowledgeable and competent staff will find of for you. I personally savor the experience as opposed to downloading a audio file on-line. That's just me and a prefer doing business with a local establishment that has a payroll and pays taxes as opposed to Jeff Bezos, who seems intent on selling everything to everybody.
Javi Mendivil
Pretty awesome place to come and shop for cd's, vinyl, movies, collectibles, and fashion accessories. It's been one of my favorite shops for years to come and visit. Always something new and cool can't pass a purchase of interest everytime i come here.
catherine coffman
Twist & Shout has the best record selection in Denver as well as obscure movies. The staff is helpful and the employees have a nice range of music knowledge. In particular there is one super friendly, adorable employee. He is usually wearing a camo hat. If you have questions about indie/chillwave/down tempo/electronic/hip hop/80s essentials/post rock or black metal definitely ask him! He is always down to strike up a friendly conversation.
Jimmy Blann
A lot of stuff to see DVDs posters stickers records
Jonathan Cooper
Great selection of used CDs, vinyls, and tapes. Lots of Pop Vinyls, T-shirts, and other gifts. Really enjoyable place to spend some time shopping for music.
Martin Wachter
I love this place...while so many record shops got worse, these guys got so much better. I make excuses to hit that part of town and therefor visit them anytime I'm in Denver and have a few bucks to spare. With a great selection of dvds and T-shirts and books and memorabilia...these guys have it all. Go here.
Paul Torres
I've had success ordering out of print music C.D's and have even got lucky finding L.P's that have been out of print 4 over 30 years.
Dan Magar
Best selection, premium prices
Alexis B
Occasionally a tad pricey but meh, support yr local shops. Always plenty of gems to find and great selection of used records too. Every time I go in I manage to find records I'd never expect to find without having to seek out online
Cody Knox
Love this shop! They have an incredible selection, and the staff is always super nice! Support your local record stores!!
Joseph Rohrbach
Absolutely awesome store with everything from the most recent CDs and collectibles to multiple, old-fashioned listening stations for vinyl records. We could have spent days in there!

Crazy good selection and knowledgable, helpful staff. My new paradigm for a great record store! We were probably there for a couple hours and I could've easily spent several more.
Christina Hom
What a fun experience! Difficult to leave without purchasing more than one thing. The layout is great and the selections are vast and offer nostalgic tastes.
Camorasaurus Dunnisaur
This store is absolutely amazing and by far one of the best record stores I've been to. The selection is huge and I would highly recomend shopping here

Billy Kidd
This place is awesome very friendly helpful staff I will definitely be back

Bought a vintage turntable here and had an issue with the stylus. Rory in tech services was just great in the way he took care of the issue. Tremendous customer service. A+
Kevin Hilyard
Awesome place. One of the last vestiges of music memorabilia. Great selection of records and discs.
Erik Tye
Twist and shout is one of those cool places that is nearly impossible to walk out of without getting something. It's a mix of a homers/Sam goody/Pop Culture Store/Tower Records, but with a cool local vibe. They have CDs, records, action figures, DVDs, kid robot, Funko pops, trinkets, bags, clothing, socks, you name it. Definitely worth a stop if you're in Denver.
Danielle Née-Cole
Amazing collection of used and new records! Right next to Tattered Covered Bookstore, and across from the City Park Farmers Market on the weekends.
Joshua Trimble
One of the best record stores I've been too. An amazing back catalog and a stellar variety. The staff was nice enough. Check out their collection of 45s!

Dana Johnson
From a metal fan/vinyl collector perspective: Twist never fails to surprise me with metal CD inventory of obscure bands I do not expect. Reminds me a lot of Amoeba records. Also a fantastic collection of metal vinyls.
shawn
Awesome place to find used cd's, dvd and even vinyl. Usually if an item isnt in stock it can be found. Headphones available to listen to prospective purchases. Staff is knowledgeable and very helpful
Mark Rowe
One of the best in Denver. I really appreciate that they are still taking covid so seriously. Staff is always helpful and always a good selection, healthy mix of used and new.
Karl Ward
A visit to Denver is never complete without a visit to Twist and Shout. I love that store. CDs, DVDs, tons of ephemera and music miscellany, plus a room full of vinyl.

Great selection only problem I spend a lot each visit. Worth going to.
dan ehle
This is the vinyl Mecca! They have all genres spanning multiple decades, clothing, posters, and much more. Highly recommend- for music enthusiasts it’s almost overwhelming.
Heath Lowe
I need to practice self control there! Lots of hard to find things. Saw Ween at their old location. The best record store in Denver, in my opinion.
A Pelland
Such a fun record store. So much music, many movies and tv shows, lots and lits of unique toys. Great place for funko pop collectors
Lenne Tyler
Don't see many music stores anymore. Really nice to just see all the music.
Luke Sinclare
Best record store I've ever been to. They price the records just right and the staff is always friendly. I always feel at home here browsing for new music or just talking about music to the staff.
Abbey Owens
Twist and Shout was so much fun to go to. We were visiting from out of town and found numerous records to take home with us. My husband was able to find a Khemmis album he had been searching for for ages.
Robert P Kail
#1 Record Store. Vast Quantities Of Records & Cd's as well as Music related books, DVD's. You need to spend at least one hour to absorb all of the genres & categories , & the best part is the reissues of records & cds
Brooks Child
Huge music library in both CD and vinyl. Also, massive collection of Funko Pop! figurines if they are your thing. Many of the had stickers on them claiming to be exclusives from other retails (Amazon, Hot Topic, etc.).
Rocky Mountain Prepper
I really like this place. I go for records and they really do have a great selection. The employees are always helpful. Just make sure you give yourself time enough to explore.
Matthew McNair
If you're into music & are in Denver, Colorado then please visit this neat establishment, it's full of most physical forms of music like Cassettes, Records & CD's as well as assorted knickknacks ~ It's an easy place to spend hours in.
Tim G
Just like the record stay at stores of yesteryear a great selection and lots of memorabilia excellent place
Kyle Goss
First time here and I wont need anywhere else to go! They have a huge selection of Vinyl, CDs, cassettes you name it! I'll definitely be back in the future!
Patrick Gaertner
One of my favorite places in town. Lots of records, movies, toys, and all sorts of great things.
Ashel Peabody
Okay, so the staff SUCK (NOT taking that back), but the vinyl doesn't. Seriously, there is ZERO excuse for the way these or Angelo's staff treat people, so if you're not in tight with them or robbing the place, get stoned first. Biggest draw back to Denver is now NO ONE IS FROM HERE AND PEOPLE ARE MUCH MORE DISRESPECTFUL
Angel Macias
Always a friendly place to visit. Today Record store day, one of the busiest days of the year i revieved the best service. Not only did their team locate and lead us to what we were looking for, they went the extra mile to help figure out the color of the viynal. Spectacular atmoaphere and service. Must go visit.
Mike Hutchins
For those of us that want to own our music, this is the best place in Denver. If they dont have it, they will get it in a couple days. CSs, Vinyl, DVDs...the best!!!!
Keith Osborne
Great big store with a lot of music gear. If you're ino the music culture, you must know this already exists.
Brian S
Its ok they have a good selection and some indie stuff. Someone at the counter seemed antisocial and unpleasent attitude. That is why it is 3 stars. It may just be cause of holiday shopping. But I still like this store a lot its mostly good.
Turd Ferguson
A little pricey, but always great! Huge selection and a great way to kill an hour, flipping through albums.
Hyacinth Burrowes
Wow what a collection! I love that they have miscellaneous grab bags of vinyls and cds. What an awesome spot.

ryan cadence26
I always have had a general positive shopping experience with the staff and the store... Been a customer since early 90s. However, every time I interact, say hello with the owner, he seems to be in a non-personable mood. It's perplexing
A O
Incredible selection of new and used vinyl, CDs, DVDs, along with some novelty clothing, toys, gadgets, etc. Great prices too. I could spend all day there!
Julio Soto
Love coming here to paruse their wide selection of one of the last places to buy new or used CDs, records (vinyl), movies, and sometimes some random wacky stuff that might catch your eye!
Worth a stop if you're nearby!

AJ Retelle
THE place in Denver for your music, movie, and pop culture needs. A superstore in the best sense of the word.

Aaron Wong
Always love spending some time here. Vinyls, CDs, box sets, collectables, t-shirts this place is an ecclectic mash-up of a records shop and toy store. Hours of browsing entertainment.
Joel H
Great independent record store a Denver institution. The place to find unusual and harder to find items. Best vinyl selection in the state.
Turtles Man
Great selection but pretty bad help. Got a guy who was new there and nobody wanted to help him so he was running about the store looking for about 30 minutes. Overall sort of rude in my experience but the selection is very good.
Noah Orlowski

Great place to buy and sell new and used records, CD's, 8 Tracks and cassettes. They have live music scheduled some evenings.
Nate Vogel
Great ambience highlighting an appreciation for music culture. It's just lacking something that makes me want to go back. Prices, probably, have something to do with it.
Jennifer Curtis
Love coming through and browsing their newest election of used music and movies. Priced fair, good hours and location. Staff is always helpful and there when you need them.
Dave Voth
Always helpful and good selection. Local Denver shop that’s done well over many tumultuous years in the biz. Thanks!
Jonathan Clark
They are easy to find as they are in the same building complex as the Tattered Cover Bookstore. I went there to sell my collection of DVD's and now feel that they did not trade me fair for my collection. Sellers remorse i guess.
Eric Adams
I go for the extensive vinyl selection.
I return for the eccentric local artisanry and, too, the disinterested customer service, all of whom have perfected the art of customer shaming. 😁 …
Jacque Knight
I was completely disappointed with their record selection. The 3 records we found worth buying were ridiculously overpriced. (20 dollars for a used vinyl that is not a collectible, really?)
backy “Backy” r
Neat record store! Very extensive selection.
Julie Drury

Rochelle Allen

Danny Adams
Love this place... it was weird that they asked for my wife to keep the breast milk out of the store. So we didn't buy anything that day.
Chad Ricketts
I like this store and their selection is huge. But they don't bring in new things as often as I would like. But then again what more could you expect from a record shop

Bryan Gelles
"Great selection of pop toys. Lots of cool concert posters on the Wall." -the girl. Oh yeah: they also have records.
Marc Morris
I've spent half my life and certainly more than half my income at Twist & Shout... Memories of this institution entwine with those of high school, college, kids, marriage, divorce... Twisties provided the sources I sought for serenity, inspiration, creative movements for my children and myself. Now that they share the block with the Tattered Cover Bookstore AND the Sie Film Center, no doubt the corner of Colfax and Columbine will remain a retreat, the founding of continued catharsis as time goes on.
William Russell
Best place to buy music in Denver. If they don't have what you're looking for (i would be surprised) they will order it to accommodate
