Lovely little music shop. I was looking for something that was not guitar center. This small shop is packed with some absolutely stunning bluegrass instruments, including Banjos, dulcimers, violins, ukulele, acoustic guitar, and an amazing collection of specialty harmonicas! Lots of helpful tools for teaching. The lesson book section was organized and had a lot of options. Under the counter there is a lot of pic options. There is percussion, folk CD’s and String options for all. The staff was so kind and helpful. I think there is a bit of an open jam that occurs downstairs occasionally. Awesome specialty store very much worth a visit.

This is my go to guitar shop. The guy who runs the place is super helpful and knowledgeable. He'll make sure you don't make some hard rookie mistakes with his experience, and I think there's even lessons, but I can't say for sure. This place is worth it. It can be a little hard to see at first. Look for a house in a row style with a sign out front, on the left hand side of coming from downtown.

Once again John at Bluegrass saved the day ! I have a hollow body electric that was not staying in tune, and just did not sound right. John was having a very busy day but made the time to get me guitar tweaked in , he said it was very minor adjustments. It made a ton of difference in the sound. It is back to sounding like a musical instrument and staying in tune. and as always, for a very fair affordable price. Thanks Bluegrass you guys are the best !

it was a pretty cool experience. The older fellow behind the desk he seemed really knowledgeable. Somebody's been around music for a long time I started describing I slide my grandfather used you know exactly what's going on talking about. I brought two guitars into him. And then he helped me fix them . I owe him many thanks. He helped me pick out a harmonica. Slide three sets of string help me fix to my guitars.. I got a customer for life as long as I live in Ohio. I've been going to Bluegrass for years to buy all kinds of things. It is an independent, full service music store you don't see much anymore. John, the owner is a hoot and very knowledgeable. The Saturday basement jams are great to sit in on or just sit and listen. Great selection of instruments, music, song books and accessories including hard to find things. One of the best strap and string selections in the city IMHO. Worth the trip just to see the place and meet the people. Always good conversation.

Been going there off and on fro several year. Of all the music shops I have been into this is the friendliest place in Columbus. It is a small independent shop with a staff that knows what you need and when you need it. The extra service here is the best. Love the small independents and I only shop when I can with these type of establishments. Try it I think you will like it and especially if you into Bluegrass there is not a better place around.

Jamming on Saturday mornings in the basement. An assortment of bluegrass and some folk music. Stringed instruments at a great price. John the owner and other help is friendly and helpful. If you love bluegrass and have never been I guarantee it won't be your only visit.

Today was Black Friday and I wanted to buy a mandolin. I went to the big name stores and wasn't satisfied with their selection. Not only did I find the perfect mandolin from their fairly large selection, but since I'm new to it, the employee played each one for me so I could hear how they sounded and pick the perfect one. Never had such a good experience buying an instrument. Will return.

Amazing! The people who work here really love music and care about everyone who walks in the door. I live hours away but will make the trip when it's time to buy a guitar or ukulele. And the there was a jam session going on downstairs which we were welcome to go watch. Can't wait to go back.

Lots of bluegrass records new and old. And all bluegrass instruments available. Not necessarily high-end instruments -- mainly affordable -- but you never know what they'll have behind the counter. They host a jam in the basement every Saturday and its a great place to come and learn to pick with the pros. People post flyers for upcoming events. Its a good place to hang out and/or browse. Its a tradition in Columbus. I am not affiliated with the store, just a mandolin picker from the area.

The lady who works there unfortunately is downright rude and disrespectful when it comes to anything she hasn't heard of or understands. But, aside from this one employee, you can get your basics taken care of and learn about some of the bluegrass acts around.

Great place, no deals there though, all they are doing is going to google and seeing the price of others. Same pricing if not a little bit higher, no dealing for your business at all. To bad, these store are great, but the internet buying is the best way to go on price.

The Bluegrass store has everything.....strings, capos, all kinds of picks, straps, instruments, CDs, music books....everything you need to play bluegrass music. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, and the place has the atmosphere of an old-time country store. They can repair just about any bluegrass instrument...banjos, guitars, mandolins, dobros, upright basses, dulcimers, etc., and their prices for new or repaired instruments are very reasonable. A bonus is the bluegrass jam session that takes place in the basement every Saturday. The Bluegrass Musicians Supply is THE place in Columbus for anything connected to bluegrass music.
