Chicago has great records shops and I frequent many of them. But what sets this record shop apart from the others is, Drew. He’s the owner of 606 records and I had the pleasure of meeting him. It’s lovely to witness someone taking pride in what they do and provide you with quality customer service, every single time. Sometimes these nuances are overlooked but I can assure you, Drew’s warm demeanor and versatile music knowledge will make you want to linger at the shop just a bit more than you may have anticipated.

Very clean and organized record store, although they don't seem to have much variety in rock/metal, which is what I was looking for. They have tons of other genres though, so you'll probably find what you're looking for

606 Records has a great selection of new and used records. The focus on smaller and local record labels is awesome. Drew is always happy to help and more than accommodating. He's always got something interesting playing in the store and if you ask him about it he's excited to tell you about. The shop has 2 turntables setup with headphones so you can listen through any deal digs that interest you. You could even find new or used turntables in the store, along with useful gear (slip mats, cleaning products, etc).

Hands down my favorite record store in Chicago. The owner maintains an excellently curated collection of vinyl with ample offerings of funk, soul, jazz, world music, etc., mingled among new and used copies. The shop is well organized by genre and even features listening stations. The place does a great job adhering to safety protocols during the pandemic and occasionally runs shipping discounts for items purchased online. Located in the heart of Pilsen on 18th. Support local businesses!

Nice store tucked away in the corner of 18th and Allport, counter corner from Thalia Hall. Varied selection of vinyl on hand, and their prices are affordable. Staff very helpful. Good place to go and dive back into a past of fond musical memories.

This place is great. The owners really have a passion for music and know their stuff. The store is well laid out and I can tell the owners really care about helping customers find great music that you won't find anywhere else. If you're in the Pilsen area, you owe it to yourself to check this place out!
