I called Chris on a Thursday afternoon asking if he could fix a string on a guitar in an emergency as I had accidentally knocked over my husband’s acoustic guitar and snapped one of his strings. He told me he could and he met me at his shop within less than a couple of hours. He restrung and tuned it for me and made sure it was good to go. It took only a few minutes and the price was incredibly reasonable, especially for having fixed it in an emergency. I really appreciated his help and will come to him again for instrument repairs as we own several.

After my small school district was quoted $3,000 for repairing a whole slew of instruments, I called Chris. Since I live an hour away from Cheyenne, he met me outside of normal hours to look at the instruments. He went through every single one with me, and sent me back with several that actually did not need repairs. When it was all said and done, I learned more about taking care of our instruments, and it cost about 20% what the big store would have. Chris is so honest and easy to work with, that we will never take our instruments anywhere else.

I really like that he gave a consultation, because I honestly didn't know if it'd cost a bunch or not, so it helped prepare me for the cost. Husband actually said "thats it? I have a Chinese-made Dan Armstrong plexiglass electric guitar that I bought just before the pandemic showed up in Wyoming. It probably came from a city with greater humidity than we have here. A few months after it arrived, the neck had warped in such a way I couldn’t figure out which way to loosen the truss rod to straighten it. Brought it to Chris Marlow. He straightened the neck right then, and also pointed out that the plastic nut on the headstock was unevenly notched. This was also a problem, for me. It was not, however, a problem for Chris. He replaced it with a beautiful bone nut, and tuned the bridge. With such masterful craftsmanship, I’m afraid it just wouldn’t be right to play my usual, sloppy trash rock on it from now on. Thanks, Chris! You’ve even taught me I’m gonna have to practice!

Chris overhauled and repadded my 60+ year old tenor saxophone and it plays like new! The first note I blew was low B flat which ensures ALL pads are seated properly. Sounded great! I have known Chris for a very long time, he has repaired many instruments for me. Some have been pawn shop purchases, music store consignments, from friends, antiques in the attic. All were superbly done. We attended the same church until we moved away. He played on the worship team, quite an inspiration to me in far away Montana. We also played in the civic band in Cheyenne and Lccc music groups. He knows his instruments. I can’t find anyone here I trust with my vast collection. I have an early 70's Ovation guitar that has problems with the neck cracking at the headpiece, as a result of having a factory "custom built" neck. It went back to Ovation several times, but the same problem would reappear after each replacement. After I moved to Colorado, it became completely un-tunable, so it stayed in it's case for 20 years or so... A few years ago I reconnected with Chris on Facebook and asked him about it. His answer was, "I can fix it", and he did, simple as that. It's been a few years and it is still absolutely perfect! I can't say enough about the quality of his repairs!
