Reviews of Fretted Instruments

The most honest and helpful folks for new players. I remember getting six strings for the little money I had. Sometimes it was two for one Monday or Wednesday or Tuesday. I recently bought several used guitars from Cobb County, GA. I planned on selling them to make a few bucks. I wound up giving them all away to young people who just wanted to play.

Outstanding. Not only top choices in acoustic instruments, but Herb is a genuine craftsman who can set it up right. He helps customers find the best instruments for their interest.

I have done business with Herb Trotman at Fretted Instruments. Herb is an honest man and is straight up like 6:00 o'clock. If he tells you it's raining, grab your umbrella.
I had my most valued guitar in his hands. I have no regrets. Good service, fair deals... That's hard to beat.

I've been going to see Herb at Fretted Instruments for the past 33 years. Simply put 33 years should tell you something. Herb is straight froward, honest, great banjo player and an all around great human begin. There is absolutely no other shop that comes close to what Herb has to offer. Go there, sit down, chat and pick and grin for a bit. You'll become part of a family of musicians.

Just passing through and had time to kill. Checked the internet to search for locations where I could find guitars for sale. After reading about my choices I felt this location would be worth checking out.
I found exactly what I wanted. Long story short......a place where the pure love of music was the reason this store was in business. Not a chance to make money selling things that are musical for the sake of an income. Making an income from serving those that love making music with fine instruments.
There was no attempt to ..... sell ..... me anything. Not by the talented young man working there, or the owner. If you want someone to make a fuss over you and do the typical sales stuff, this place may be to low key for you. It was perfect for me. I felt like I was a friend that they were just visiting with. I watched as they dealt with other customers and loved what I saw and heard.
After over a 2 decades of looking, I walked out with a guitar that they never tried to sell me. After I purchased the guitar, the owner proved I was justified feeling like I had been visiting with friends. He went out of his way to do something for me that proved he thought of me as one.

I’ve been part of this store for years. Even used to teach there. Herb the Conquerer is a wonder. He has resolve. And staying power, collects a fine selection of instruments to match all pocketbooks.

The unassuming, cozy, welcoming character of this place is great. I wandered into this store after driving by it for more than a year. I was so glad that I did. The selection, despite the small space within, was pretty astounding. This is a location for finding fine, high-quality instruments. An excellent selection of all varieties and series of Martins, Taylors, Collings, Eastmans, and others. I was pleasantly surprised to see all of the "national top sales/ top dealer" awards given to Fretted Instruments by Taylor and Martin. Wow! Anyways, I left with a great new 500 series Taylor and a fantastic new 200 series for my nephew. The staff was quite helpful, it was a great experience, and I will be returning.
