I have been back to TRAXX many times, each time I find another gem that I just can’t leave without. One of the best album stores within 100miles. Great selection & wide variety. If you are looking for it, they probably have it.

Stuffed to the brim with records of all genres. Wasn't a fan of the incense they were burning as it chokes up the small store very quickly, but if that's the price I have to pay to find Bert and Ernie's "Love" album then so be it.

Nice store. Been there a few times and have bought a few records; some is priced good and some are overpriced my opinion. The owner is nice, I think his name is gary. However, the other employee isn’t the most customer friendly. I didn’t catch his name. He seems to be there more than the owner but I rather go when Gary is there. But they have a decent selection

Great variety of used and new albums of all genres and sizes, from 45s to full length albums! Albums are priced fairly and to fit any budget, well organized alphabetically, but be prepared to peruse the boxes, I think it's an amazing part of the record shop experience!

This is a cool little place. We went on a rainy weekend for a mini date. They have a very limited capacity due to COVID, so we had to leave after about 20 mins- people were waiting in line to get in.

Best record Store in the East Coast!! I have been to quite a few and the staff Is always Very Nice and helpful! Just the Other Day I Found a Grail Record Sgt Pepper Parlophone 1st press In Mono!! Woow Yeah Lets just say Vinyl Sounds Great no skips or pops and the price was that of a new CD!!!! No lie it goes for over $100 on The Bay Aka Ebay.If you want quality Shop at Trax on Wax The Guys are Like Family To Me Gary The Owner Craig and Jeff will take Good Care Of You.

Nice store. The owner was friendly and attentive. If you're a record hound, I imagine it's a goldmine. As a CD hound from the dinosaur age, there is not a lot. However, I still walked out with 5 or more at excellent prices that I look forward to listening to.

Disclaimer, I don't know, nor have I ever listened to vinyl records. I came here with a friend of mine who does however, and he was looking like a kid in a candy store. The store has a simple layout, and although small, is able to fit a lot of variety inside. From what I know about collecting comic books, it seems like the prices were reasonable, and they took the trouble of letting you know if it was an original issue or a reprint. If my friend's reaction to this place is a barometer of how many stars they deserve, I think I nailed it.

Tory Short

Looks small on the outside, but there's crates and crates of records to sift through. Huge selection. This is 99% records, very few CDs or other merch, if that's your thing. Lots of jazz and big band type of music available. I do wish there was a bigger selection of metal, specifically 80s and 90s albums.

Highly recommended place if you love vinyls. Always I have a surprise finding excellent music. Vinyls are in excellent condition. They have an awesome collection and great prices. Attention is 5 stars!

Always a wonderful experience here, the staff are friendly and helpful and knowledgeable!! Whenever I want something on the rare side, they got it! Even when I just want to browse, I feel welcome and I can chat music or just listen to what is playing. I LOVE this place and I enjoy going to all the record stores in my area and when I’m traveling. Every place has their own flavor and this one is extra tasty!!

GREAT store! Vast, diverse selection of records. Very well organized and easily navigable. I've found some pretty hard-to-find records at relatively low prices. Yes, its not the cheapest store around, but its absolutely well worth the extra buck. I can't vouch for the bitterness of the reviewer below as I have always had wonderful service from those working the store. I've spent upwards of two-and-a-half hours in the store just browsing and buying records. A must-visit for record enthusiasts!

This place is my place to go for music. Both Gary and Jeff are very well versed and honest. They are very helpful, and can school you on a lot of things ,as well as good records to buy if you are looking for something new to get into. Some of these comments are a little ridiculous. "Their used vinyl is so expensive compared to others." If so please give me a name of the store and I'll gladly call them. It sounds like you didn't get or hear what you wanted so you took the low road and tried to degrade the store. And yeah there are soooooooooo many great other vinyl stores in the area. Get your head together. I love this store, and have been a patron for the past three years. Always a class act.

Any vinyl lover's wet dream! Stacks and stacks of records -- LPs, 45s, and accouterments. Nifty-ly decorated and labeled with, what else but records! Obligatory, large incense selection and more! Character by the score! Check this place out... oh, and if you don't have a turntable, you can get that too!

Great record shop with an absolutely fantastic selection! Well organized by alphabetical order too. Only issue I'd have is that the record bins are a usually to full to to flip through easily, but I just grabbed the first ten or so records out and put them to the side to get around that.

I got back into collecting LP's again about a year ago, there are a number of good record stores in B'more, but this place is my go to shop. A very good collection of pop/rock as well as a decent Jazz section, also new re-releases are plentiful. In the past 12 months I have bought about 150 LP's from the shop, 148 were perfect and the two that were not were happily taken back. I am usually pretty quiet when perusing the racks but if I have a question, both of the guys have the answers, each are very knowledgeable. Prices are at market, and I have found just about anything that strike my fancy in the bins. Glad Trax on Wax is in C'ville, its a good store.

My only issue with this place is that they charge a bit too much for used records. I've found lower prices almost everywhere I've gone. With that said, this is a good record store. No electronic music selection to speak of, but very large rock collection.

I liked it, it's a little cramped so I advise not taking your small children in. I'd have to agree with the others, if you want to just go browse, the super packed rows make it hard to do. It's all in alphabetical order so if you know what you want, it's pretty easy to find. Staff wasn't bad, they're not overly joyous, but not mean at all, at least that was my experience.

Vinyl Mecca. Shangri-La. Just incredible. HUGE inventory, extremely well-organized of mostly used but exceptional and Guaranteed quality. Used are priced well. Only negative here is the relatively small and overpriced selection of new/sealed records.

I absolutely love going to Trax on Wax. I originally discovered the store trying to find someone to buy my parents' old records before I ended up adopting them and started collecting. I've been a loyal regular of the store since 2009 or 2010 (I honestly can't remember which year), and I keep coming back. Some items are a little pricey, but the selection is choice and the conversation is second to none. Gary and Jeff know their stuff and run a tight ship. If there's a record your looking for, stop by and see if it's in stock; if it's not, chances are they can order it for you. Don't listen to all the haters out there: Trax on Wax is the real deal! All they sell is vinyl (the only CDs you'll find are from local artists), and they have plenty to choose from. Next time you stop in, tell 'em Kirk sent you!

I’ve never visited your store, but that’s not a problem for Google Maps Reviews because Google allows anyone, even if they’re not a “customer” to write a bogus ‘review’ of your business…even if it is just uniformed abuse. I’m sorry that you too have been victim of the “wrath” of Jonathan Downie. He likes to walk into small independent stores and if he’s not given your complete and undivided attention he gets mad, really mad. No hope of serving a genuine customer when Downie is in town. The problem is that Downie is a vindictive entitled abuser. If you respond to what he has written, he’ll telephone (internationally) and call you “a f****** a**hole” , he’ll also follow up with threatening emails containing similar language and declaring he’ll “ruin your business”. Let face it he’s the problem. And so is Google Reviews. They endorse him and reward him with points and feedback. Let’s feedback to Google?
