Spoke to a worker in there and was greeted warmly. He was telling me all about their system of movie rentals. Very cool store with everything packed with cool movies. Staff is nice and place is great. 5 dollars a rental for 10 days in was told if I remember correctly.

It’s the best. Once I was bingeing Battlestar and crushed two DVDs in one afternoon and returned them the same day, they let me take the next disc free because I hadn’t been gone 6 hours. It is everything a movie tries to capture about the beauty of a movie rental store but in real life.

I find it difficult to imagine a better business existing. The staff is always super helpful and cool, they have a great selection, and they’re always on hand with awesome recommendations. I’ve never asked them to recommend something and not walked out with a movie I loved. Having access to Videodrome is one of the best parts of living in Atlanta and I can’t foresee me ever renting a movie from Amazon or Apple again. Thanks for being the coolest, you guys!

Long before Youtube, Videodrome is/was the OG video-repository … not limited to banned revolutionary documentaries and great foreign film selection. The counter clerks here are known for their encyclopaedic knowledge of movies and films. No place like it in this country or planet!

Videodrome is a fairly small stop, you could miss it if you're not paying attention but you will be glad you stopped there when you do! This place is a film lovers dream!! So many obscure and hard to find gems! All on physical media of course as a lot of this content doesnt have a streaming home. The staff and owners are awesome! This is my favorite place in all of Atlanta! I cannot recommend enough!

Altho I lived out of town, it was always a great visit. I knew it was a great place when I saw the Salo poster 🐐 A dream store come true as a filmmaker & enthusiast... Abel Ferrara, John Cassavetes and Alejandro Jodorowsky sections amongst many of my other favorites. Great suggested categories & new Blu-Ray editions of the most obscure films stocked everyday. Gotta love that name. Long live Videodrome!

Took a date to this place and it was BEYOND awesome to see his reaction! If you're looking for something to do with a significant other or bestie, Videodrome is a great lil' outing to pick all genres of movies out. Fun fact, we ended up renting Gummo, Thirteen, and Boyhood.

The best, if not one of the only videos stores in the area. A local favorite for all ages. Definitely recommend renting a few videos from here and making it a regular occasion. Films are organized by director and genre, which is probably the coolest aspect of this store. And if they don't have something you're looking for they'll get it. But they probably have it... Lastly, parking is always available at this place if you're visiting the store.

I thoroughly enjoyed this place! It is a truly nostalgic experience for those of us that grew up in the blockbuster days. It is like walking back in time. This store is wonderfully located and within walking distance to a lot of great places. Coming in, I'm surprised how clean it was. The whole store is very organized. They have it grouped by genres, decades, even an area organized by directors, which I thought was pretty cool. The gentlemen working are very accommodating. They do not mind helping you find movies, having casual conversation, and even entertained the 23,758 questions my daughter and niece had for their little toys at the front desk. Rentals were reasonable and they have frequent member cards. I stream all of my TV needs; even with the convenience of streaming, sometimes you can't beat nostalgia. I definitely recommend this video store. This 90's baby with an 80's heart will be a frequent customer!

This place is amazing. If you are a film buff or live in Atlanta, you probably already know Videodrome. I really can't say enough about the selection, the guys who run this place, or the significance of having such an important video rental store here in the heart of Atlanta. The world of streaming is severely limited and treats you as fodder for powerful algorithms. That's great and all, but you are definitely missing the experience where you can rent a movie that you cannot stream anywhere, asking questions and getting into personally curated cinematic rendezvous that you might not otherwise have ventured into. We're lucky to have Videodrome.

Wow! What an extensive collection of so many films in history! And they do rentals 😍😍😍 A bit bummed not many sales of movies but it is understandable considering the times and what they offer. But man oh man... this place is a film fans wet dream. They had all the stuff I never thought I would see in person and surprised me with a few things I did not know about. I only wish I lived closer to support them through an extensive amount of rentals 😄 I forget the name of the guy working, I think he said he had been there 16 years? He was super chill and answered tons of questions, even some he didn't have to being not movie related. But he was really cool about it. We still picked up tons of stickers, patches and shirts to atleast support what they are doing with some sales of swag. I hope you guys never close and can save future generations!

Do you have a favorite movie? Videodrome has it. Have you been looking for a movie that no one else knows about, but you love, and no stores sell it, and nobody but you seems to care about it, but you care about it? Videodrome has it. Literally the best store ever 10/10. (They also have newer, and more generic movies; but I go for the niche films. Anything you want to see, they have it.)

I am so thankful Videodrome exists! Friday nights, growing up, used to be all about going to the video store to pick out a movie. Thanks to this store, we can still have that experience. They have an awesome selection of new releases, classics and everything in between. When I first started coming, I quickly worked my way through their entire Wes Anderson shelf (he certainly deserves his own shelf!). The staff are so great and always provide lots of info or recommendations. We’re here pretty often and usually stop by Buddy’s (across the street) for snacks and ciders on the way home. You should definitely visit Videodrome for your next movie night!

I love Videodrome. The staff is very nice and helpful, and I go there all the time to check out foreign films that I can’t find on streaming sites. They have a great selection and when they didn’t have an obscure Russian documentary I was looking for, they offered to find it for me. I love supporting them even when I check out movies I could watch for free. I used to live in Athens and was crushed when Vision Video closed, so hopefully Videodrome will live forever!!

My favorite place in Atlanta, bar none. Most streaming services tap out at about 10,000 titles on the high end - and Videodrome has almost 3-4 times that. Plus, the feeling of browsing the shelves and picking something you've never heard of is priceless. And if you want to go down a subgenre rabbit hole (Hong Kong action/Taiwanese New Wave/American Action Trash, to name a few) their selection and ability to give recommendations is unparalleled anywhere else. I have been going to Videodrome at least once a week since the pandemic began, and it really got me through these awful times. Beyond that, in the past few years I had stopped watching and enjoying movies, and Videodrome completely reversed that. If anyone visits me in Atlanta, I take them to Waffle House and here first and foremost.

My fiance and I were shocked to see a DVD rental store, and we went in because we heard they had some niche films and just to go back into a rental store like we did as kids. But it is actually a lot of fun picking out movies there and they have a great selection of new and indie/classic films.

Like the Plaza, a treasure that should be loved, supported, and protected at all costs. Only gripe with both is the need for them to get political. I would consider this place as a hidden gem of Atlanta. Everyone who likes movies should absolutely come here and see their collection. Almost anything you want from any part of the world will be here. The prices are cheap, rent duration is more than required, late fees are minimal. Great people and great store.

One of my favorite places in Atlanta. I know I can pretty much stream whatever I want without leaving home, but it's really not the same as a trip to the video store. I enjoy browsing genres or directors - like reading book jackets at a used book store - and taking a chance on something that sounds interesting. There's an excitement and ceremony in selecting and watching movies this way that I appreciate and don't get in this swipe and binge entertainment culture.

Videodrome is a treasure trove of the best (and worst, if that's your thing) cinema has to offer. It's organized by both genre and country of origin. Not every great movie is on a streaming platform, so you can bet if there's an acclaimed movie or some art film you've been wanting to see, they have it. And if they don't, they probably get it if you ask them to!

The crown jewel of a dwindling breed of stores, Videodrome has any movie you could imagine in stock and ready to be yours (for 3 nights at a time with new releases and a week for stock movies) for just a few dollars! Be sure to ask about frequent renter punch cards - sometimes you get lucky and these gems are in stock! As an old and obscure horror lover, there is nowhere better to find a new favorite film. Can't recommend this store enough.

I know a lot of people have given this place great reviews, but the truth is that compared with other independent video rental stores I've been to in other cites, Videodrome is actually on the very, very pricey side. Most other independent places I've been to charge $2 or $3.50 at most, but $4 per dvd for just three nights? That is just ridiculous. Its a real shame too, because they clearly have a good selection, but no one is going to shell out that much money for a dvd they could probably get on Amazon for 99 cents.

Videodrome is the best video rental place in Atlanta, and not just because it's the only one. The selection is absurd, the categorization's well-thought-out, the films playing on the TVs overhead are always great—sometimes you'll get a new film for your watchlist just based on what's playing—the staff picks are always a highlight, and the prices are fantastic. This place is an incredible source for indy, import, documentary cult and other obscure flicks that even Netflix may not have (and Blockbuster wouldn't even consider stocking). They have a selection of the big Hollywood titles too, but you can get those anywhere. Very laid-back staff as well.

I mean, the place is named after a crazy Cronenberg movie in which James Woods injects himself with VHS tapes. How can this place not be awesome? It's a little pricey but the selection is astounding, there's always an obscure film playing on the in-house TVs and the staff is never at a loss for good suggestions to add to your watch list. This place is so cool, I took my mom here once after visiting the King of Pops on the adjacent corner and she freaked out over all the old classics she forgot even existed. Quit the netflix nonsense.
