Loved this place. It had a Addams Family-Anime sort of vibe and the bartender was a heavily pierced, knowledgeable, super friendly gal. Especially loved the $2 PBRs and ultra cold sake. My friend Nut picked out a rare Barry Manilow vinyl cut that reminded him of his (admittedly disturbed) childhood and they played it at 78 speed for him. ♥️♥️🎼🎧

Great shop! Good selection of different genres. Dude that was working was cool and friendly, Found an Acid Mother’s Temple LP and.a hard to find Magazine LP. Absolutely worth a visit if you live in Asheville or are in town for a show.

Really nice record store. It was a little too dark for me, with dimmer lights and an older vibe, but I think it would be a good place to see a show. In addition, there was a decent selection of new and old albums.
Micah McLain
Cool spot to grab a drink, check out some vinyl, and maybe even catch a show!
Ugly like Caillou
Awesome place pretty cheap good selection and they have shows sometimes including the day I was there. Picked up some VERY NICE in shape covers! And they were haven’t a sale.

Cool spot has some killer records and a bar!! Drink while shopping always turns out great! My gf loved having wine while looking around. Also the employee working there is a tough cookie with people just wondering in for no good. 😉 …

Such an awesome little record shop. I really like the way they have their titles arranged, they make it really easy to search for something specific. They also have a stage in the back for really small shows within an intimate setting. They have a pretty good selection of different genres, certainly worth checking out if you're in the downtown Asheville area.
Peter Soucy
Very diverse record selection and cool vibe to the place! Also good beer selection. Only downside was the bathroom smelled like the dog that wanders around the place, but you’re probably not going here for the bathroom.

This is one of my favorite record stores in the world! The inventory is currated with expertise and care. There's so much cool stuff here, the prices are fair, and the staff is super nice and knowledgeable. They love music and art and it shows! Plus, you can hang out there and have a beer or a soda, and they host live acts that you probably won't see at any other venue in town. If you love underground or eclectic music, check this place out!🤘🤘

Static Age Records had the best prices and most diverse selection of music. I do not feel like I'm walking into a store full of snobs that think the music you asked for sucked. Static Age is also an excellent venue, clean, safe, and down for a good time. The owner doesn't mind meeting new customers or music partakers and making you feel welcomed and part of the family. The staff is very helpful and awesome in every way. I'll definitely be back and will bring my friends.
Respectfully,

They def have a more punk vibe when it comes to their selection but overall a great place. I was able to find some stuff and the girl working was so nice and helpful. Seems like a cool place as they have events in there too but I didn’t get to experience that but it seems like a great set up.

Music, music, and more music. You can actually pick an instrument, sit down, and try it out. While we were there, folks were strumming different guitars, talking music talk, and adding to an already fun vibe. Our daughter's boyfriend is an amazing musician and he walked out with a guitar he bought to add to his collection. Great spot!

I got a surf rock album from 1964 entirely about how cool Hondas are and a nice man with dirty hair said it was a cool thing to buy. I also got kicked in the face at a deathgrind show there, which was good.
Donna Kesler
Eclectic store that supports local artists. Live performances and bar on premises. Knowledgable employees.
josh riley
This is a great record store - and more! In addition to having a great and eclectic collection of new and used records, they host live performances regularly and have an outdoor seating area to enjoy cheap beverages and socialize.

Sammy is sweet Loved talking about Music.
Great Venue for a small show.

Stopped in while on a week's vacation in Asheville.. was really just looking for a cold beer. However, really enjoyed the place and people working there. Super friendly. Cold beer. Lots of records, and bands should again be playing soon if not already.
Elena Corradino
Amazing venue!! Always have a good time here :)

Easily the best of the record haunts in Downtown Asheville. Came up from GA and visited Western NC for the week and decided to check out this much buzzed about city. Got to buy lots of new music and chat up the friendly, gorgeous woman working the bar, who with her co workers sold me on the record that was playing on the turntable. 5 stars. Will definitely return some day.
Jansen Scott
Lovely shop in a nice area to hang out/shop. Found lots of local/contemporary gems + a nicely curated selection of used records across most genres. The woman working played great tunes and was a pleasure to talk music with. Can’t wait to come back. Do not miss this shop if you find yourself in Asheville. (+++ a listening station)
Michael Davenport
Very cool used record store. They have a small stage in the back for intimate shows. The used record selection is amazing.
Wes H
Great record store and venue. They have done a lot to make this an interesting place to see music. They have a bar now, compared to bringing my own tall boys. The record selection is expansive! Lots of used records and new records. I believe they buy records as well. Only complaint is that the organization is a little questionable. Wish it was more clear. Overall though a must stop for a vinyl collector when downtown.
Dennis Lathem
GREAT vibe in this place. Love the cold beer all day long. Found something I thought I had missed.
Dillon Hutchinson
Loved the layout and concept in this place. Records on the wall aisles. Bar in the center. Small venue in the back. Had a great selection of vinyl from just about any era or genre one could think of. The guy behind the counter was friendly and knowledgeable.

This is a great spot! Nice people, ok music ( I'm old so...) but the number one thing is there's no TV!!!! Go enjoy!
Gods warriors
The absolute best dig with a cold beer.
Highly recommended

Saw a punk rock show here back a few years ago. I didn't meet the staff, and I didn't buy anything, but it seemed to be a decent shop. I looked around before the show and even though it was a rather small store, they seemed to have a pretty wide selection of punk and indie records, along with some more metal and other mainstream stuff. Overall it looked that a good spot. I can't give it a full 5 stars because as I said before, I haven't had the entire experience.
Samuel Habgood
Great selection of Tapes, Vinyl and CDs
Late Night Shows are 11/10

Great experience!! Was in town from Ga dec 26 was heading to the bar next door based on google searching ended up here instead, seen a cpl awesome bands play and found the most down to earth local crowd in town! Owners and staff were very polite as well not to mention the drink prices were unbeatable,, only cons would be its a bit cramped but definitely will be returning whenever im in town.

Looking for a record? Harvest doesn't have it? These guys probably will. Smaller but very interesting selection, both current and classic. A lot of favorites and a fantastic atmosphere until the summer heat hits. Place bakes a little in the sun. People running it are good folk and very patient with questions.
William Hodges
Good selection with an even better knowledge from staff. Chris was very friendly and sold me two records I had never heard but not without sampling each one for me. Both turned out to be great recommendations worthy of purchase. Will definitely return when back in town.

Dive bar/venue + record store!
Just happened to dip in here after realizing the Downtown After Five festival someone told us about, hosted near the overpass of 240 and Lexington, was not my cup of tea. Amazing selection. Found a number of fantastic records. Others have mentioned that the prices were high, but I found them to be inline with other record stores I have shopped at in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill. Staff was super friendly. After digging through the stacks my girlfriend and I hung out and drank a couple of beers while listening to the super chill show in the back of the store. So happy I found this place because I really love it. It seems rare to find something so authentic in downtown Asheville. I know that seems like I'm slamming Asheville. I really love Asheville, but there is the tourists' version Asheville and there is locals' version of Asheville. This very much felt like the latter.
They also had some interesting handmade pieces of jewelry and some amazing enamel pins for sale. I know I'm gushing about this place, but it really made my night. Will be back next time I'm in town.
Melinda Russek

Michael Reece
First time here. Nice selection of lp's of all different genres, and the prices were good. Thought having to put your hands over some humidifier-like thing, though, was a bit much.

Cool spot, band setting up when I was there, there's a bar in the center of the store which is awesome, plenty of selection even if a tad disorganized, seemed to have better prices than Voltage up the street & definitely better music playing in store
Reis DeSantis
Good selections as far as records. They host shows. Not a huge fan of the space where they host em. But the venue has done a lot for the DIY music scene.
Joey Phillips

Was just there last week for a fringe Festival show, so I know they're open still. Problem is the phone number is out of service - that's listed on Google Maps. Could you please list your current phone number? Thanks.
