Reviews of Moog Music Inc
Super neat place to check out! Free tours that explain how the synthesizers came to life and how they work! Lots of different instruments to interact with and plenty of products to purchase. Everyone here was super friendly and took their time to explain a lot of the products with me. They gave me a few demos on a couple of the instruments as well! Overall an we had an amazing visit to the Moog Store! And highly recommend visiting if you are enthusiastic about electronic music.
Went here to buy my Moog matriarch. The employees were great. The one person that helped me went over and beyond to help me acquire the specific model I was looking for. I didn’t get their name unfortunately. 10/10 would come to the store in person for any of my Moog needs. Thanks!
Friendly worker. Came back for "factory tour". Mainly in main room but man did give history and demos before briefly showing back. A cool stop. Our "tour" was at 330
All I can say is that I've been playing lots of instruments for lots of years and nothing has ever gotten its claws in me like my Moog. It's like some sort of witchcraft or something. It's so beautiful and angry and everything else. It's alive.
The Moog Factory is definitely going to be on our top 5 places to visit for our family when we go to NC. My family loved the tour and learned a lot just hanging out in the store and trying the synths out. My children are 15 and 13 and do have an interest in music, so everything was very interesting to them.
LOVE this place. The staff were incredibly friendly, answered questions(even the dumb ones), and overall were just awesome. I highly recommend their tours and if you get the chance to buy one of their synthesizers, DO IT!!!
Came here today and we got Free tours inside the history about synthesizer. Recommended and have on sale on t-shirt.
This is an inspiring place. Demo a variety of their instruments in their showroom, get informed advice from their friendly staff, and take the free tour of their factory to get even deeper into why this company provokes Asheville pride.
Very cool store, if you know Moog, you will understand why. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I figure most people who walk in are not going to buy a 1000$ entry level synth, despite this the staff we ran into had no problems showing us around, teaching us about the machine on display and answering stupid questions I had about song names and synth settings. They have a bunch of demo units set up that you can sit there endlessly and mess around with. They even have a theremin or two you can mess with .
Super cool vibe in the store with a great variety of instruments and pedals to play with. I wish they offered tours on Saturday as I was only visiting during a weekend but will definitely be back to play some more!
Very nice and professional staff they answered all of my son’s questions and were very welcoming. You are allowed to be hands on at this store. Tours are also given.
Very tight dock space. But you'll make it. No overnight Parking. But you can stay I think couple hours across the street they got open dock spaces. Was unload in about 30 min. Very tasty coffee close by
I'm with Republic Services, the trash hauling company that partners with Moog. The staff, especially Alice, are FANTASTIC to work with. Great response time and very understanding and positive people! They are very considerate of their neighboring businesses and this is so important in a city like Asheville. Great business!
The store is super cool and the staff is amazing! They aren't currently doing full tours but they showed us around the store and guided us through the history of Moog synthesizers! Definitely worth a visit.
I had no idea Moog was based in Asheville! What a great surprise to find on my roadtrip! Thank you Zach for showing off some of the new products!
Cool store. Lots of things set up for people to play with. Surprisingly they don’t just sell Moog products and merch. Had the full line of Elektron stuff, and a lot of modular from other companies too.
No tours per se, because of COVID, but they did a rundown of Moog history from Theremin to Wendy Carlos and up to the relatively recent era.
Also, they have hand sanitizer, masks and little headphone booties.
Just wish merch was less pricey!
Though $90 for a hoodie and a hat is a bargain compared to the synths I was considering.
Fantastic experience being in the legendary home of analog synth-topia. The staff was really great too!
I thought this tour was very interesting. I thought it was interesting how they had some instruments out on the floor, so while you are waiting to go on the tour, you can play and listen to the music you are "creating". The man that gave our tour was super nice and provided great information. I thought it was interesting how they show you how each keyboard is made. You do not always get many opportunities to be shown all the steps and factors that go into making these instrument. Watching all the employees work as we took the tour, was very interesting as well, because they seemed like they really enjoyed where they work and what they are doing. I do not know how to play an instrument nor do I have any interest in learning how to play, but it was definitely an experience you do not want to miss out on.
Awesome store front to test out some of the most iconic synthesizers. I am really glad that I got to play around with the Minimoog. They also provided masks, gloves, and hand sanitizer given that it is a smallish store and is a popular destination.
Did a tour at the factory and it was exceptional! If you’re looking for something unique in Asheville, highly recommend a tour!
Due to COVID restrictions, we were limited to just being in the showroom but we had a blast. Our tour guide’s mini tour was informative and we had plenty of time to play with the instruments. Every question we had, our guide was able to answer. His knowledge was very impressive and he was a super friendly guy.
Many thanks!
Amazing place. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Such a fascinating and creative good vibe. An absolute must visit when in Asheville.
I love Moog and the synthesizer!!! Tours available, great time. Wish I had more $$$$$
i have no idea what any of this stuff is but it made my boyfriend happy so it gets 5/5
Such a fun time! Z was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Moog which made browsing the showroom a ton of fun.
Cool place to visit. Didn't get to take the tour with covid going on.
The most amazing gift shop, the most amazing tour, the most amazing assembly place. It exceeded every single possible expectation. Paul Gaeta, gave an outstanding tour and the best tutorial on fundamentals of synthesizer that I've ever heard my life. Starting with the Theremin, the Mini-Moog, the journey of Bob Moog and the company. Also a real American made product with employees that clearly take pride in their work. I just love this business and I want to save my money to get a Moog. My step son love the gift I brought home as well.
Wonderful place, visually appealing and interesting all the way around.
What a great experience. If you're a fan of music, Moog, or synths in general and find yourself in the Asheville area, you owe it to yourself to visit the storefront and call ahead to take the factory tour. There's so much history and passion here.
The staff are friendly and super knowledgeable. You could be a total newbie or a synthesis rocket scientist and they'll treat you with equal respect and dignity. The employees back in the factory are clearly impassioned. And I got a rise out of one of them in the Minimoog section when I pointed out that the rocket launcher option makes total sense from a rock and roll perspective, but gold plating has questionable acoustic value. There's just a good vibe all around. I feel like each employee is participating in music history as they design and put together these famed musical instruments whether for budding bedroom producers or accomplished mega stars. There is pride of product here.
Checking out all the gear in the storefront is a revelation. I could spend endless hours on a Minimoog alone, but all the synths you've read about are available for a test drive. There's something to be said for playing around and experimenting with instruments back-to-back to get a feel for their workflow and sound. I thought for sure I'd walk out with a Minitaur for desktop bass duty when I went in, but ended up falling in love with a Mother-32 semi-modular: simple enough to start with, but a hacker's synth at heart, one with its own unique though distinctly Moog voice. Buying the Mother-32 direct from the store and the crew there has been a treasured experience.
Definitely worth the visit and free factory tour if you have time. The showroom is setup so you can play around with all the equipment - very cool. And the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful.
A fun storefront where you can play with all kinds of MOOG synths, pedals and software. The products they have out for you to demo rotates frequently to keep it interesting. The staff is knowledgable and friendly. They also have some merchandise available as well. A definite stop when you are in Asheville!
Walked in and Paul gave us an in depth and informative demo of the mini moog and answered all of our questions! Would like to come back and take the full tour
I was delighted with the professionalism, customer service, variety of merchandise for all price points, and with getting to try out high quality equipment that I've only ever seen in videos. We'll be back soon for the factory tour!
We did a factory tour - this place is incredible and I absolutely recommend for anyone who loves music (aka everyone???). Our tour guide was amazing, everyone who worked there was so friendly and the instruments we got to see were absolutely fascinating.
Factory Tours Monday-Friday around 10am & 3pm, shop open Mon-Sat. All currently produced Moog products in the store & occasionally vintage Moog. Special Legacy Modular tour for a limited time. Unique swag & accessories in the shop. Tours length 1hr
Great presentation about some fabulous equipment and the history behind it.
The most fun I've ever had in a store! All the instruments are available to be played. Staff is great. Don't miss this place if you're visiting town.
Very friendly staff with a wide knowledge of the Moog product line. Visitors are welcome to try all the synthesizers and effects pedals. Free tours available!
Amazing. Thank you staff. We had a great time!
Moog Music has great instruments and a very skillful and prompt staff. I highly recommend it for those looking for high quality products. Rbt.
Full disclosure, I work here. I will say that I'd be here all the time regardless because I think The Moog Store is one of the coolest synth shops in the world. Come by and get a tour :)
Friendly service and tons of modules in stock - they let me bring my modular system in and play for hours before buying something. A+
Great vibes, God dwells in the hearts of those who work here. Was very happy to buy a Subsequent 36.989 ATA hard case and 🌈logo T-shirt.
Played on the 16-voice MOOG ONE...and all I can now say is Dave who? JK...but I know the rev2 is NOT my next polysynth! Please pray my first single sells well once released! (Loud Clouds).
*Will Smith: "I GOT to get me one of THESE!!!"
Phenomenal showroom that’s setup actually allows you to play instruments pretty freely. The tours they do are always great and insightful.
Fantastic tour for free where you are informed about the history of Moog & you also get to walk through the factory floor. You also get to play around with a bunch of the synthesizers at the end.
Really enjoyed our mini tour today with Jim, they were very informative and answered all our questions! You guys rock!
Amazing service, awesome equipment, and the largest vintage modular synth wall I have ever seen!
Amazing. For synth and music heads or anyone else. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Geartopia!
This is one of the coolest places I've ever visited. The tour guides and other people who work there are so knowledgeable and nice. I highly recommend visiting this place!
Even if you don't play, a visit here is worth the trip. Look into a tour of the facility. Amazing music history.
Great tour and awesome shop! Paul was knowledgable and personable. Excellent, all around.
Amazing tour, amazing guys!
Very laid back atmosphere. The guys in there are super friendly and will teach you how to use anything in the store.
Moog is number one. Give them your money and all other financial assets
Mecca for synth heads. Really informative tour.
Fun, lots of hands on. Super chill staff
Great experience today! The employee who assisted me, Zach, was extremely cool and helpful!
Great tour and being able to play several instruments was awesome
The tour of the factory was very interesting. A must see for any fan of synths!

Only Moog store in the world. Friendly staff
Very helpful in Tech support!
Oh! My.
The tour is excellent!
Piece of story! Top!
Amazing and fascinating!
A piece of music history.
Best in town
Absolutely worth checking out the free tour and learning about the history of Moog and how it impacted popular music, as well as seeing how they are all put together.
Wish I could give more than 5 stars. The tour was incredible, and all the employees are knowledgable on and passionate about the instruments in the store.
In an era where companies outsource parts from the lowest bidder and automate as much assembly as possible, Moog goes the extra mile to procure their parts domestically and assemble each instrument by hand. The results are instruments put together with love and care. Love this company and their products.
Synths!
Z gave us a very nice tour. The tour started in the showroom with a history of electronic music and the evolution of Moog instruments. Tour continued in the factory while folks were working.
