Obsession Records in Anchorage is a true gem of a record store. Owned by Steve and Verna, this shop is a paradise for vinyl lovers. The selection at Obsession Records is absolutely stunning. They have a vast array of vinyl in all genres, from classic rock to contemporary hip hop. I was particularly impressed by their selection of hard-to-find records and rare imports. But the real standout feature of Obsession Records is the customer service. Steve and Verna are true music enthusiasts, and they are always happy to chat with customers and share their knowledge and recommendations. They really go above and beyond to make sure that everyone has a great shopping experience. The prices at Obsession Records are also very reasonable, and they grade their used vinyl accurately and fairly. Overall, I can't recommend Obsession Records enough. It's a true treasure of Anchorage, and a must-visit for any vinyl lover!

I've been ordering LP's from Obsession Records once I found out there was an Alaska-based record store and not only have they exceeded my expectations when it comes to friendly customer service but they have gone above and beyond the one time I had a quality issue with a record that was the manufacturers fault. I always check their catalogue first before looking elsewhere. Steve is awesome!

This place is a hidden gem. So many old school music, records, and cassette tapes. Not only is this store cool, but the owner is too. He was so nice, patient, and very helpful to everyone in the store. Prices were good and they had a lot of unique gift ideas for different occasions. Great store. Huge selection. I visited from the lower 48 and found dozens of items I never see it Pennsylvania stores. The prices were reasonable. The staff was very friendly. I highly recommend this store. I visited twice in one day to make sure I didn't miss anything before going home.

I came here for the first time two years ago. It was a birthday present to a friend - go in and buy 100$ of records, her choice. The owner /employee on shift was stellar. He helped us pick out her records, found ones she'd be interested in and was a great conversationalist. Pricing was excellent and selection was massive. Do not let this gem get lost to covid!!

Great deals on old used vinyl still in good quality condition for $1, $3, $5, $12. Great selection on new vinyl. Stocking more as we shopped. They even have a frequent buyer program: for every $200 spent,you get $10 off. Super friendly and helpful staff! Will definitely be a repeat customer!

The guy was very knowledgeable and has a vast collection of vinyl. There's also some new and used equipment. This is my kind of shop. Awesome posters and prints for sell for the music lover. Nostalgia overload and great atmosphere. A must visit for all music aficionados.

I love these guys! They are open during Covid and also take orders from their online store. Wonderful husband and wife duo running this record store. Very patient with you if you want to pre-listen to half a dozen records in the store. I always leave with something interesting. They have a huge selection and are fairly priced for Alaska. They also sell speakers, amps, preamps and record players of a variety of price points. The record players that are decent (Way better than those Walmart and target Crowley brand introductory models) start at $150 and go up to a really fancy ones. Quite affordable.

Awesome shop. Has to be the best vynil selection in Alaska. Staff is awesome! I hate walking into a store and instantly being bombarded by sales pitches. Won't happen here. I can thumb through records for hours here if I want and if I have a question or don't have hours to search I can ask and have answers on the spot. The store is on the small side, however you will get lost in there searching the wide variety of records while listening to the dope tunes that are always spinning. I think they recently hired some new dude... Walter. Walter is a young buck but I like him.

This shop is a true Alaskan gem! They have a huge selection of new and used vinyl, tapes, and CDs. I’ve found some really unexpected rad records here. Whenever we travel record stores are a must on our list of places to see. So when we traveled to Anchorage we had to make a stop at Obsession Records. To say the least, I was impressed for Anchorage AK. The selection was amazing! We ended up purchasing several things that we hadn't found readily other places. Went in last weekend to see what they had to offer for turntables. I wanted to buy local if I could and the owner had one I liked and even put it together for me. My husband and I picked up 4 records to start our collection and I can't wait to go back. iTunes and Spotify are great, but I love the feeling of putting the record on the turntable and the sound of the needle first touching down.

I have visited obsession records three times at the most. When I drop off the cds. Steve goes through them and pays me for what he wants. I usually end up bringing some home. He said some he can use and some cannot use.. ( I do not know which music genres he is looking for, but...)
