My boyfriend and I have been here TWICE in less than two weeks, and the guy with the amazing mohawk took such good care of us both times (as did another employee the first time). He even helped us out the door each time; he really goes above and beyond with his customers and takes his job seriously! Their prices and selection can't be beat, and the customer service and employees' knowledge are out of this world. The guitar, amp, accessories for both, and the banjo my Man bought are such great quality. He loves them a ton and is so happy with His purchases... and I enjoy watching and listening to Him use them! :D We highly recommend this store for all your music-making needs.

Shout out to the crew at Guitar Center Albuquerque! In a pinch because of a move out of state, I needed a hard case for my Breedlove acoustic guitar and was able to find what I needed there quickly. I asked for a cardboard shipping box for one of my other classical guitars and they were able to find the exact (used)Yamaha box that I needed, and then gave it to me free of charge—I would have gladly paid for one. Thanks for going the extra mile for me Guitar Center Albuquerque, and for helping to make my next journey an easier one. YOU GUYS ROCK!

Went in needed capo ,found capo , bought capo . They also have a great selection of stickers . My guitar tells stories so I got me a guitar center sticker stuck it on my guitar . I really liked the acoustic room as well as the layout of the store nice job guys

A very nice selection and a pretty clean store. The Customer Service is kinda so-so. Customer Service at a music store is usually this way because musicians that work as salesmen always have a you're-bothering-me-and-I'm-better-at-playing-an-instrument-than-you sort of attitude. But like I said, this is par for the course at a music store. Guitar Center is no different. I recommend it IF you already know what you want.

My son gets guitar lessons here, everyone has been very helpful with all of our needs and requests. Bret is very cool and works with scheduling, he is always up beat and helpful. Jonathan is my sons guitar instructor and he is amazing, he has really transformed my son into a strong guitarist. I recommend this place

Great place for access to instruments. But the love is gone. I remember the days when this place was alive with music and culture and people playing music in the store. The Employees are still fantastic, but the shop is a bland aged Walmart stamped kinda place. You find decent instruments and gear but don’t feel the love like we used to. Need that spark again guitar center. Let the employees bring themselves out here. Rant done. Thank you for the memories.

Went there a couple of times in the month of May. First experience was awesome. I purchased a Gibson Les Paul and an amp. The guy with the long blonde hair and glasses (can’t remember his name) was great. And let me try out several different Fender Strats, to check the tone on them. I’ll probably be back soon to have my ESP LTD with a Floyd Rose worked on. And maybe to buy a PA to get a little garage band going with my friends. Second experience wasn’t too great, went there May 21st, to buy my friend a double bass pedal for his birthday. The guy in the drums department wasn’t pleasant to work with. When I initially arrived he was helping a couple that were from out of town, I believe I overheard Toas or Grants. Being that he seemed to be helping them for a while, I went to check out the acoustic guitar room. When I came back I told him I needed a double bass pedal, I ended up going with a the cheaper option of about $350. He put his finger up signaling he was finishing something on his cellphone and on the work phone. Once finished he asked me what I wanted, repeated myself, and headed off to the back. When he came back he said he had the double bass pedal, and he ended up putting a hole in the box while trying to get it off a shelf or something in the back. I looked at the box which seemed like tennis ball had gone through a corner; nothing was coming out or seemed broken. While cashing out he offered me a warranty, to which declined and replied that I would be back in less than 30 days if the hole he made caused damage anyway. He didn’t seem to like it, and went on to continue texting on his phone. Anyway I’ll avoid the drum area from now on. I don’t blame this guy either, I’d be in a bad mood too if I had to hear people play mediocre versions of Enter Sandman all day. Overall meh. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

One of my very favorite places to visit! My oldest son got an Ibanez bass guitar and a beautiful Ibanez hollow body 6-string from this shop. We've bought a keyboard and lots of other accessories, as well. We'll be replacing my middle son's drum set with a nicer set soon. I love the looks on my kid's faces when they walk in and see all the beautiful instruments! Who doesn't love Guitar Center??

Bought a lapel mic as backup to replace an existing lapel mic on October 21st 2021. The guy who helped me on the day of purchase was great! He answered all my questions. However I ended up not needing it and returned it two weeks later on November 4th, 2021. I was helped by a really nice gentleman who had a great attitude and made the return process quick and easy. I wish I had the employees name because right after I left the store I found out he was leaving for the day. He was about to walk out when I walked in. He could have easily handed me over to someone else but he decided to take just a few more minutes to help me with my return before he left to go home. I felt truly appreciated! Thank you sir for taking the extra time!!!

Having Guitar Center here has always been a big plus. It's hard to beat their selection of music items, not just guitars but PA equipment, studio, lighting, drums, etc. Also when you find used items at other Guitar Centers on line you can buy them and have them shipped to our store. I just did that with a used and rare guitar. When it got here, they helped me unpack it. It was missing the bar for the Floyd Rose, so Simone went in the back of the store and found one for me. They're friendly and helpful, and I will keep buying there for sure. Thank you!

I know it's not guitar centers fault but that law they have to wait 15 days to purchase used equipment is dumb as hell. You go to a store to purchase things immediately, but to pay and then wait. You can get the item cheaper on line and quicker.

We love the guitar center, their deals and their selection of local music instructors! While they are a national chain we get a lot of local flavor out of the Menaul/San Pedro Store. Great for beginners lessons. Virtuoso players there too.

Reasonable prices and good selection of items. Keep in mind due to Albuquerque not being very big they don't carry very obscure and very niche items. They also do not carry extremely expensive items. There is something for everyone here. Plenty of midrange, low range and a few obscure high range items. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and understanding. Just don't play "Stairway to Heaven".

This Guitar Center is awesome and even though they're not stocking everything like they normally do, they're totally helpful and have plenty of people on staff at all times. They do good managing the number of people in the store and making sure people use hand sanitizer. I've been there a few times and they often have what I need. Prices aren't that great, if you need help you have to track somebody down. I've been here multiple times and never once has an employee offered any help without being prompted. Would be nice to have multiple instrument rooms so that if you really were interested in an instrument, you would be able to sit and get a feel for it without having ten other people playing various styles of music at various levels of skill in the background.

Great bunch of musicians that walked me through buying my first electric guitar. They were patient and have a plethora of technical knowledge that aided me in my final selection. Make sure to ask them to play the instrument so you can hear what it is capable of if your not super skilled. Under current Covid guidelines this place is operating pretty well. Sanitizer required upon entrance (which they provide). Staff is pretty friendly and knowledgeable even during the busy hours, and they helped me make sure I got the right equipment and gave me some advice on restringing an acoustic guitar as well as adjusting the action on a bass guitar. Felt like there could have been a bit more staff during the really busy times.

I got a setup done on an electric at a different guitar store in town, it took them 2 weeks and it was almost unplayable because the action was way too low. Buzzing all over the place, made me sound like I just suck at guitar. I had a recording session coming up in a few days and called around other places and they also had about a 2 week turnaround time. Finally I called GC and they said they could do it in a day. Bo was super helpful, knew exactly what the problem was, I took it in one morning and got it back that evening. And it sings beautifully. Honestly saved my recording session and confidence. I should have just started with Guitar Center and will from now on.

Well I've been going here for more then ten years they've had there fare share of great employees and bad. The staff on hand today is 50/50 you got employees the genuinely want to help their fellow musician and then you got the employees that treat it like work and could care less about your musical interest then there's always gonna be at least 1or2 employees that think they're gods musical gift to the world. If you see a line outside just go down the street to music go round cause they probably have what your looking for and they might have it for cheaper

What I really love is that they don’t try to over-sale you on their products, so it overall gives a very nice experience when deciding to purchase things from here. With only a few exceptions, the service here has been remarkably good. An online order of mine got totally botched (a Les Paul declared out of stock after I'd already paid for it), but a sales person offered me a Les Paul in the same price bracket for the money I'd already paid and I couldn't be happier. That's how you keep customers AND support music in your community.

Guitar Center is not usually my go to store when it comes to purchasing guitars but I decided to purchase one from here this time. The day I ordered my new instrument in the store I was helped by the nicest employee there, he was the ONLY one who decided to help me with my purchase. Most of the employees here are rude and do not give great customer service but this employee did. If you have any questions or want to have something delivered in the store talk to MIke Malone - "Mike" He helped a lot!. Very Satisfied with my visit.

The service is in every corner, and in each room when you need them. Folks, it's a pandemic out there. When you go to a big box retail store, you need to be able to get in and out with surgical precision. I rolled up and said, "Salesperson Alex, I need two guitar cases, a bass case, and of course, a metalzone (best pedal every made)." He immediately recommended me some cases. They didn't have everything in stock, but he quickly ordered them online for me. We also verified that the one case would fit my chubby Schecter C-1 E/A. I was in and out in about 7 minutes. I asked a question about the need to have a 9-volt battery inside of bass guitars, which was answered politely, but then I turned around and two employees were openly mocking me, saying basically "Duh, you need the bass pre-amped, it has a built in pre-amp, like every other bass." I didn't appreciate that, but you can't beat the selection, and for the most part their customer service is awesome. I found a Boss pedal there... a multi-track looper, rhythm and effects box, all in one, that I can't live without, and the manager there suggested it to me. The setup, the immense selection, all of it is outright incredible. You can't blame two dumb guys for totally ruining the experience, because the place is awesome.

Mixed bag - one guy lost interest in me and just walked away when I said I wasn't ready to buy that day, but one of his colleagues picked up the slack and was very nice. We all know its a weird time to be alive right now. I tried not to be to upset about hanging outside for 20 minutes. I wanted to see a selection of starter guitars because buying online is tough with instruments. Turns out they only had 1 of 6 in stock so i ended up buying blind anyway. Waited outside for over 15 minutes. It was at "max capacity". More than 10 people left and no one came to let anyone in. Poor customer service. Tried out a few guitars finally and they were all terribly maintained! All wack out of tune, dead spots and huge chips taken out of guitars - at list price! Also had an empty wall were there could have been 30 more guitars at least. Covid probably hasn't helped at all but GC's storefronts are a complete pain and end up becoming a complete waste of time.

I was oscilating between three and four stars, went with four to maybe raise the average due to the ones. It's nice to have this place in town, lots of stuff available in stock at good prices. Some staff are good, orhers not. I guess music stores always have a high percentage of I'm super cool don't bother me, overselling people. I hate it to, but I guess the four reflects that maybe you have to grade music stores on a curve. Note to sales people: when someone is honest and not pushy, I'll throw a lot more business your way in the long run.

My husband is a musician and often works long hours. He is not always able to make it to Guitar Center during business hours. Many times he has called ahead and been able to determine the availability of the items he needs and I go to the shop with the list. At first I was a little intimidated because I am not a musician, but every time I have gone in with a list, the staff has been very kind and helpful. One of the managers, Chris, even helped me find things that were comparable when the exact items from my list were not available. this guitar centers pretty nice it's kind of cramp act as kind of stuffy I guess you could say for the size of the store they have a lot of guitars the only thing I will say that I have a problem with is I went there a week before Father's day and my girlfriend bought me a guitar she let me pick it out and buy it and I bought a schecter and it was a $450 guitar now mind you I understand that for a guitar that's not that expensive but for our bank account that is expensive and so I asked the dude that was working at the front desk if before I buy it he can give it a thorough thorough check and make sure everything on it is perfect perfect because I do know that other people play the guitars when they come in just to see how it feels and everything elseand because of that he needs to check it thoroughly because I'm not going to buy a guitar that's not checked properly and then it's something be wrong with it and that was what theproblem was he was just looking at the front door and looked at the back real quick and in five seconds headed back to it was like oh yeah its perfect

Great music store with tons of electric guitars, basses, a drum section, keyboard /PA section. In the past, there were a bit stuffy in attitude as other reviewers mentioned. But this visit found an employee bending over backwards to help me, genuinely nice! Particularly when the store was packed. Big selection of guitar strings and cords which is why I was there. Parking lot is usually full, but you can find a spot. They sell mostly new equipment there. The only real competitor is Musicgoround which is my number one go to store since they are mostly used gear and get some not so common guitars. Yes, this review is for GuitarCenter, but both stores are a fun visit for the noob to Pro musician.

Great for everyone of all ages and all stages of music from beginner, to intermediate, to more advanced players this is the place for everyone all walks of life and all ages. I also know they offer lessons and carry equipment from keyboards and DJ equipment to drums, guitars, basses, yes and even saxophones. I mainly play guitar and sax but dabble with other instruments and this is my one stop shop for my music needs located conveniently close to Cornado Mall.

The best place I've been to in Albuquerque that has all your music needs! The workers here are very awesome and friendly as well! If you are in need of a guitar, piano, banjo, DJ equipment, microphones, etc. Then this is your go to spot for all your music needs! I ordered a new Casio CDP-S350 online. A few days later I received the keyboard badly taped in a CDP-S100 box wrapped in bubble wrap with the power cable thrown loosely in the case. I take the keyboard out and find finger prints all over it and what looks like a homemade label ripped from the back of the keyboard leaving most of the paper still attached. Also, no foot pedal (it wasn't until after opening the exchange later at home, I realized I was supposed to get a sheet music stand and manual!) . Obviously a used keyboard or a store demo. Went immediately to the store to return it for an exchange. Clark assisted and asked the usual expected questions and within a minute started the return process and fixed the issue and was very apologetic. I understand these things happen and there is no need for attitude on anyone's part. Clark was just very pleasant and is a reason why I have shopped with Guitar Center for many years spending lots of $ and will continue to do so! Thank you, Clark!

Smaller than most guitar centers I've shopped at and the selection doesn't seem to change that often for guitars/amps/effects. They do offer lower prices when you shop educated w/online rates and ask what they can offer. Provides military discount of 10% off on most larger purchases, but pretty sure this cuts into their commision and you may not get offered it without asking. Also, they seem to have a consistant group of teen rockers that all play loud and terrible at the same time. Normally this wouldn't bother me, but the employees did nothing even when customers that were actually play testing couldn't hear themselves.

This Guitar Center and the one in CA I got my Hendrix wah pedal from have been great to deal with - (2 60th Anniv. Strats, 1 2nd Gen. Clapton Blackie, a used Gibson ES175, and assorted other gear). The only things I haven't bought from them are the '65 Princeton Reverb and the '65 FSR Super Reverb as they didn't have 'em in stock. Great Staff and Drew Blair in the Service Dept. is awesome tuning up the guitars.

This is not just a guitar center, it should be renamed music center because there are musical instruments to delight any amateur or professional musical artist. Main area is full of variety of guitars and ukeleles but there is a drum cave and piano area. They have instruments to try and delight. In the drum cave there are cow bells, bongos, traditional and digital drum sets. The piano den has the newer keyboards (no traditional gran) followed by disco lighting, amps and dj equipment. The guitar side has fully staffed guitar repair workshop and passionate service providers. Spent far too much time here just playing around.
