This place is AWESOME! My family went when they collaborated with the Transportation museum. My 2.5 year old LOVED it!!! The train displays are enormous and my son had so much fun watching everything. There are also areas for kids that are more interactive. It really is just one of the coolest places I have taken my tinybtrain enthusiast. Well worth the money and you can easily spend hours there. Can't wait till my sons next birthday so we can have it here! There was also a young man in a room with a train set that I guess gives them alot of trouble. I was having sensory issues and kinda went in there to hide. He was a DELIGHT to talk to. Told me stories about the history of Thomas the Train. As well as showed me some other animations of trains for my son. It was wonderful listening to how much he enjoys this hobby. I hope if this continues to be a love of my sons he enjoys it as much as that young man does. Edit: Just realized I never edited my review after we had my sons birthday here. It was almost 2 years ago but it was an amazing choice. If I recall it was $100-$150. You get access to the birthday room. Which they decorate and provide cutlery and such. There is a model train set up there for the kids as well as a play area. Then of course they have access to all the model train sets in the building. If I remember right you get the room for like 2 hours. It was SO worth the price. You you are looking for a great place to hold a birthday party for your Jr. Conductor. Tnis is the place

My top three to visit in Wichita! A beautiful place that exhibits prime example of model railroading in the United States. Representing the N the HO, S, O, and even one example of the G rail sizes of small toy railroads in America. For any Enthusiast in Miniatures, or anyone who is a child at heart, this is a place to see three rooms and four massive layouts. Hands-On exhibits for children. You have to see this place!

The day we went it was a free day. The kids enjoyed running the trains setup for them. The people running the exhibit were very helpful. They enjoyed what they were doing

This is a great place to bring train lovers of all ages. They regularly add amazing new layouts in a warehouse sized space. Models are highly detailed and are a labor of love. It's entirely volunteer run so the hours are very limited but it's affordable and a great place to come.

It was my first time visiting. I enjoyed it very much. I Learned quite a bit of knowledge about the model railroading hobby talking with the train hobbist people. I also took quite a bit of pictures.

A nice setup with many living exhibits. You can tell they are enthusiastic. If you want to see some model trains, admire some miniature sceneries, or marvel at the mechanics, you should come by and check this place out.

We had a blast at my son’s third birthday party! We had about 30 family members and friends and the upstairs party room worked great. The staff are so friendly. And of course the trains themselves are mesmerizing - all the kids loved them from 2-year-old to 7-year-old on up to grandparents! Thank you so much, museum volunteers!

Great time with my nephew. We'll definitely be back. We really enjoyed the batman train, seeing the new layout being built, and the trains that he could run himself.

It's a really cool place. Very interesting. I would recommend, especially for those people out there who have toy trains as their hobby. They have a train display of life in the late 1800's. They aren't open all the time; I think just on Saturdays or something like that. Admission is $7.00 while kids get in free. If you are close by, you should stop in. I am sure you won't be disappointed.

Disclosure- we are train club members. This is a good Saturday activity for all ages. Kids admission is free. There is a kids area where they can build trains and a more adult set with electric trains for kids to run. Everything else is geared to adults and train enthusiasts. The layouts are beautiful and there are a variety. You can only run trains of your own if you are a member.

It was cool to look at the train set ups. They had allot for the o gage. Being the pandemic going on they didn't have allot of vendors there. I'm interested in ho an n scale. They had some their. It was good to see the train show up and going again. Will check it out next time too.

If your into toy trains, this place is a great place to go, whether your a kid, or a kid at heart!. Open Saturday only, there are multiple running trains of different guages.
