Reviews of Ulrich Museum of Art

Not what I expected. The Ulrich is a small museum and there's no permanent collection. There is, however, a good outdoor sculpture collection located throughout the Wichita State University campus. The outdoor sculpture collection is surprisingly good. But indoors, the Ulrich is small and the art is underwhelming.

Tonight I attended a poetry reading (one of the first events I've attended since mt health has declined) and this is perhaps the best experience I have ever had. The ramp to enter the building was clear and easy to go down and the person working at the front desk made it clear where the elevator was.
When we went to the actual reception and to sit down one of the employees asked if there was anything they could do to make the event more accessible. In my time working as an accessibility consultant I have never had someone come up and ask. I was so overjoyed I nearly cried. I felt less nervous asking of some seats could be moved further back so people couldn't walk behind me (a lot of people attended this evening so my PTSD symptoms flaired).
The staff was so incredibly kind I cannot wait to come back for more readings and artist talks.

Ulrich Museum is a great place for all art lovers and those seeking inspiration. The museum offers great shows, but also diverse and rich programs. It’s free and open to public. Once you are there, make sure you have time to discover their sculpture outdoor collection which will lead you through the whole campus!

Loved your collaboration with Woolsey Hall for the Senior Wednesday art and building tour! I've been talking about it for days and haven't run out of good things to say!
Thank you!

Excellent. An invaluable free service to the public, like the extension service is to gardening or agriculture. Couldn't believe it when the guide told us that anyone, even without credentials, could look at a piece in the vault.

Super nice museum! Small but very well maintained and beautiful sculptures all over campus. Free to enter + unique layout.

Went to the Basketball coloring event on 24th April 2021 and kids had lots of fun. Great out door event in the covid days. High school volunteers were very helpful. Will looking forward for more events in the summer

Friendly staff. Small but interesting collection of works.

A wonderful art destination for our community. Definitely a great place to take in some talented and unique works at a price that simply can not be beat! The facade on the front of the building is your first piece of great (and great big!) art and it doesn't disappointed from there.

Located on the WSU campus, I found this museum to be well designed and interesting despite its small size. The artwork had many different themes. I enjoy that it is a smaller exhibit because I find large museums hard to enjoy because they’re overwhelming.

Ulrich focuses on Contemporary Art. Small museum housed within WSU campus. Parking is always an issue here. Love the contemporary art, changing exhibitions. Admission was free on Sunday. Wish the space was larger and could display more works.

The Ulrich Museum, a part of Wichita State University, is open (and free!) to the public. Exhibits vary tremendously, and every visit I've made has been well worth it.

Ulrich museum is top notch! Their collections are amazing and well presented. Great to visit alone, with groups and family

Interesting displays of various artists producing their objects using all types of media inspired by reality & even science fictional improvisation points of perspective.
Brianna Booth
Love the exhibits, and I love how they make art interactive as well. Try to make it every time the exhibits swap out. Thanks Ulrich!

Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

A modern and contemporary art museum. The Ulrich provides the public with the opportunity to become engaged with today's art dialogue.
Aaron Esau
As a tactical person I'm happy you put up art to touch, I wish we could touch all the art.

It was a great place to visit. .
William VanZant
Not the best art museum in the world, but it's nice.
Bryan Clarke
Not many pieces, exhibits in multiple locations. Lacked flow. Sad to say it was less than I had imagined
Reese Avino
Felt like I was about to be jumped by a bunch of homeless people staring at me but other than that it was ok.
Brian Lyday
Not bad for a small gallery, but the student following you around is unsettling.
